" If the “soft landing” option is favoured by Buhari, the EFCC may not proceed with filing criminal charges while the case at the CCT could become academic because the major punishment for Onnoghen would have been his removal from office.

He could be banned from holding public office for 10 years, while his assets believed to have been acquired illegitimately will be confiscated"
Na waooo
Right. But if specific incidents of bribery are involved, the matter shouldn't end there - there's vacancy in jail. But this is Nigeria, of course.

El-Rufai’s convoy foils kidnapping along Kaduna-Abuja road

The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai’s convoy foiled attempted kidnapping of motorists along Kaduna-Abuja road on Wednesday afternoon.

The Governor who was on his way to Abuja got to the Akilubu village around 3:40pm, sighted dozens of vehicles parked by citizens alarmed that kidnappers were ahead.

Security operatives in the governor’s convoy advanced and cleared the road of the criminals who fled into the forest.

After clearing the road, Governor El-Rufai directed that travelers who had been wounded by the criminals be rushed to the nearest hospital. The Governor also directed security agencies to intensify patrols and permanently clear the road of the bandits.

Signed

Samuel Aruwan
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media and Publicity)
3rd April 2019.
Yeah. The wounded weren't going to be taken to hospital if his excellency the governor hadn't benevolently so directed. And the security operatres wouldn't patrol a road that has since been taken over by bandits. Governance, Naija style.

Widespread poverty in nigeria may make us cynical but it shouldn't make us lose our humanity and sense of fairness. This lady helped propel the little girl's family to success. She played a big part, purposefully or not, in that family's lucky story and she deserves something. She did nothing wrong in crying out for justice.

For that family to shun her completely shows they were not only poor in finance but also poor in morals. I am just glad kind-hearted Nigerians still remain in this country.
You know that?

What a joke!

Do people actually believe someone should stop living his life because he’s a judge.

What’s wrong in buying a car for Gods sake. People do that every day.

You buy car it’s ‘a gift’ you sell it, I might add after years of use, money paid to you it’s bribe.

This is really sad, all in an effort to hang the man.

The truth would be told at the end.
Nothing. It could be harmless. But since we're talking about a judge, isn't a "car gift" a ground for suspicion that should, at least, be investigated?

I sha know it's between Oyakhilome and Oyedepo. $150 million is just a bit above the amount living faith spent on Landmark university. However it is hard to analyze the wealth of pastors apart from their churches. Should we assign oyedepo's jet, schools to the church or himself. To me as long as those properties are registered to church then it can not constitute the wealth of pastors.
So the pastor collects kickbacks on contracts awarded by the church. Interesting.

BA has one crash - collision with another plane on runway in Zagreb in the 70s due to air traffic controller error which claimed the lives of all occupants of both planes

This particular crash is clearly manufacturer error rather than Ethiopian Airlines error. Boeing will pay massively for this.

A crash history does not indicate future crash. A lack of crash history means nothing in predicting future crashes. But to answer your question, I doubt BA has any crash history.
Politics › Re: Jimi Agbaje Congratulates Sanwo-Olu by JuanDeDios: 8:24pm On Mar 10, 2019
festacman:
Every four years, this guy Jimi Agbaje shows up and whines Igbo people in Lagos up emotionally. I reponse, we throw away the 'big picture' and follow his personal political aspiration. He rides on us, creating bad blood between Yorubas and Igbos. Then he disappears after loss of election.
Then just as the strained relationship is beginning to heal, the guy shows up again with his negative campaign.

Jimi Agbaje is yoruba man running against Sanwoolu another Yoruba man. What is special about Agbaje that Igbos would sacrifice all the big picture and the goodwill built over the years to support his personal aspiration? Enough of this sheepishness.

Igbos in Lagos are better off building a STRATEGIC relationship with the most FORMIDABLE political group in Lagos to protect its interests and enhance its welfare. I am happy that people like Senator-elect Ifeanyi Ubah, who having been on the other side in 2015 is now spearheading a new relationship with the most powerful political movement in Lagos. No more making sacrifices in return for nothing unless it is highly necessary such as when an Igbo man is running for an office at National level on different platform.
Igbos can vote for who they like. The mistake they always make is antagonising people. Do it quietly, No. It doesn't matter if all the Igbos in Nigeria vote for one party. But the moment Ohaneze or any group begins to chant that Igbos will vote for one party, it becomes a gang-up against the other party and you create bad blood. The moment you start to boast that you will determine the election or some of the other things they say, you create problems. There is a huge mass of Northerners in Lagos who register and vote in higher percentages than other Nigerians in Lagos, but do you hear them making noise?
Christianity Etc › When You Become A Christian, Do You Lose Your Sinful Nature ( Sam Adeyemi Said) by JuanDeDios(op): 4:58pm On Mar 10, 2019
“We have the sinful nature in us. That is why you don’t need to be taught in a classroom to be able to lie. But when you receive forgiveness, when you accept Jesus, God puts his nature in you and the sinful nature goes away.” - Pastor Adeyemi preaching on TVC just now (summarised).

My questions:

1. Is this your experience – when you become a Christian, the sinful nature was removed from you?
2. Does the Bible support the idea that when you become a Christian you lose your sinful nature?

Yaba, 2001-2008, Ajuwon 2008-2015, Shomolu 2015-2016. Taps still run in these places. The problem is that they're poorly maintained and no effort is made to extend them to newer settlements.

I also saw them living in Edo State (outside the capital) in the 80's but they're non-existent in those places now.

When I lived at Yaba, I had tap water from the public mains. When I lived at Shomolu, the same. Even when I lived at Ajuwon, I had it for a bit. The government should extend this everywhere to stop people sinking boreholes and creating future environmental disasters.

Boreholes are a time bomb. They have serious environmental consequences - many years down the line by the time of your kids and grandkids. I hope the government starts to do the right thing.

gidgiddy:
This is stupid talk. A person who espouses nepotism should not be President of any country. It is not for Buhari to check who voted for him or did not vote for him, it is his job to uphold the constitution he swore to. The constitution already provides for "federal character" and this means that appointments must be balanced.

As for Ohanaeze, anybody can direct people on how to vote as long as it is not done "by force".

If ACF likes, they can tell Igbos how to vote, if Afenifere likes they can direct Igbos on how to vote. It will still be up to Igbos how they vote
@bolded. Remove him naa.

Where did I say it's ok for Buhari to behave the way he does? Common sense has eluded some people. That's why you don't understand bridge building and negotiation to get what you want. The day you face a hostage situation, I'm sure you tell the hostage it's wrong to take hostages instead of negotiating to get the hostages out alive as best as you can under the circumstances.

You heard ACF and Afenifere directing people on who to vote for? They know the purpose of a group is to negotiate what is best for members, not to burn bridges. But to you, they're fear fear people - Ohaneze are the smart and fearless ones. Good luck. I'm sure in the end you and Ohaneze would be happy with the result - at least, the good feeling you get from telling the aboki president to screw himself is enough compensation for anything.
Politics › Re: Presidential Poll: No Regret Working Against Buhari –ohanaeze by JuanDeDios: 10:08am On Mar 02, 2019
gidgiddy:
This foolish talk that supports nepotism. It is Buhari's job to observe "federal character" in his appointments. For Buhari to base his appointments based on who voted for him is nepotism.
Everybody knows Buhari's middle name is nepotism so tell me what I don't know already, will you? And how do you think Buhari perceives Ohaneze's talk if not as an Igbo gang-up against him? It's fine for Igbos to be vocal about not liking Buhari - that is their right - but how is it the business of Ohaneze to "direct" people on who to vote for when voting is a matter for the individual? What does Ohaneze achieve by this that is good for the Igbo man?

I wasn't talking about appointments where federal character applies. Every kid of 6 knows he has to pick a minister from every state but everybody wants more than that, don't they? He has discretion in everything else - that's where the koko is.
