new2020: What baffled me till this day was all of these sophisticated weapons and inventions were carried out in 1960s within a very short time, we are talking about 3yrs...so the Igbos knew all these then? Just imagined had Nigerian government absorbed all of the B!afran engineers and scientists. I know IBB pleaded with Prof Ezekwe to lead the ministry of science and technology but never disclosed much as a minister...his heart was with B!afra I guess.Lol Maybe he was just working under different conditions. You'd do anything when forced by necessity. |

TheFreeOne: There must have been channels used by govt to assured them of ongoing efforts to rescue those girls but political calculations must have blinded their senses of reasoning.
Aisha wakil's interview has shown there were behind the scene moves by the Gej govt to rescue those girls whilst the opposition played politics with the lives of chibok school girls and sabotaged it for political interests. You're conflating issues. Those efforts came later. For the first two weeks, FG did nothing. |

thesicilian: I think its more of strategy than mental capacity. Then finance is a great deal also.
Exactly. I can't count how many times I have had to dump a very lucrative business idea simply because there was no money to execute it. There was even one case that a bank was willing to finance my idea, but only if my employer would stand as a guarantor. My employer whom I have worked with for 3yrs as at then refused to get involved. That was how I lost that opportunity. It's part of a bigger problem. We have to build a society where people have a measure of trust in each other. Then people need to believe that the courts can be trusted to speedily enforce contracts and dispense justice. These are the fundamentals. |

As for the alleged killings during Oro festivals. ..liars will always like to maintain their lies
Frustrating obsession will soon cause madness and subsequent death for some people Why didn't you say no Oro in Sagamu? Of course, there's no Oro in Ikorodu, it's Eleku that we heard. As for the murders during Oro, you're lying because you yourself have defended them on this forum. |

Nobody dies out of frustration with Oro. People only die from Oro if they're captured by its headhunters. That is why you should pray to our gods (who never sent you to kill anyone) that your wife or kid doesn't fall victim. If they do in some community far from your own, they will be mincemeat. This is why you should leave these cults and join the campaign against them. |

Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap. You can now go home. Omoluabi ni e! But, seriously, you should stop labeling savagery and babarism as "Yoruba". Most Yorubas are civilised and don't support these sanguinary traditions. Oro and eleku persist because a few antedeluvian holdouts like you insist on continuing to practise them. |

SpeedOfLight: You spoke and spark very well, that is the main reason why you see them on the street fighting for Biafra restoration. Military gears is one of the thing that made a country powerful and independent because if you don't produce it the white agents will use some willing tools in your country to instigate crisis and knowing full well you will come to purchase then they will start giving you all these gay stuff Nonsense. Well, I don't do conspiracy theories. I certainly don't believe white men are behind Shekau and his murderous band of Islamic fanatics. Most African insurgents don't even get their arms from white men anyway. There are some European countries that don't produce arms and they're doing quite well. But I aggree some self-sufficiency in arms is important. Nigeria is dysfunctional. If we get the country on tracks, I'm sure all these things will fall into place since we have some seeds already. I heard Innoson is doing defence contracts already. I also heard there's a company in Osun State or someplace making APCs. |

mizzbouqui: Guys argue a lot too But I think it's common among we ladies Yes, guys also argue. And I don't even have a problem with someone who argues sometimes since I don't want someone who agrees with me all the time. What usually gets to me is when someone can't distinguish between important things and inconsequential things. For important things, you gently offer correction, argue if need be, do anything within reasonable bounds to prevent something going wrong. But for inconsequential things, just ignore it. But you're really beautiful, I have to say. I won't mind a small argument with you over grilled tilapia and some wine one of these days. |

SpeedOfLight: My fellow, political policies can frustrate you if the policies don't favor your aspirations. Do you remember when Aba started producing military gears what did the power that be do about it? They remember Biafra so everything died off. There's problem somewhere!! Are you talking military hardware then? Well, that's a different ballgame. There is no country on earth where that isn't regulated. (I'm not saying the Nigerian government did the right to shut it down, though. They should simply have got involved.) There is a whole lot you can do besides arms and ammunition and no government will stop you. I don't think government policy is even the primary problem since I don't believe government has to put protectionist measures (that connected people often end up using to enrich themselves) in place for industry to thrive. I think the problem our people face is lack of access to capital. If you have a brilliant idea today and you bring to me because I'm a billionnaire who can finance it, what will happen? I will look at you one kine because there is no trust in this society and if you dupe me the courts can't be relied on for speedy justice. If we can somehow solve this problem, we will go places. It isn't a problem of anybody holding back Aba and Nnewi. |

Nigeria is a capitalist state; it's when you look to our government that you will get nothing done. Raise private capital and do what you want to do. |
