I should think about that. My present compound is not that big so I'm worried about smell. But definitely worth thinking about. |

wirinet: You spent so much time typing loads of bullshit. I see you are an intelligent young man, but you are wasting your time and energies on irrelevant and unproductive nonsense.
From my teens to my 30's I also read lots of spiritual books based on eastern philosophies and religions. I bought, read and digested all Lobsang Rampa's seventeen ( or is it eighteen) books. I even read the one he said was written by his cat. I read 2 of Carlos castaneda's books. I practiced astral travelling, meditations, aura reading, psychometry, etc. These " spiritual" activities took so much of my time and energies that my academics began to suffer. At the end of the day, I achieved what the easterners would call "enlightenment" by asking just one question; What is the purpose of all these? I then came to the realization that the purpose of life first of all is survival, then survive to add your energy ( maybe genes, ideas, organic materials, etc) back into the universe, for the universe to continue on its evolutionary journey. I then refocused my life to graduating with good grades, getting a job or starting a business, finding a beautiful woman with whom I can pass my genes, providing for and raising my children with good values that will ensure their survival and helping others as much as I can. I believe I am doing a good job of those goals.
I later learnt that all those spiritual gurus were fake, just like past religious masters. Even thought I now know that losang Rampa was fake, his philosophies still shaped my life. You can read about the fakery of Carlos Castaneda here - http://www.salon.com/2007/04/12/castaneda/ He even started a cult whereby young vulnerable women cut themselves completely from the world and submit themselves to him. 4 of them is speculated to have committed suicide on hearing of his death.
You seem very confused, I do not know how you can marry the Christian philosophy with the teachings and voodism of Carlos Castaneda. The two are diametrically opposite. How would you use your bible to justify using lizards to see who stole something or shifting your form into a cat?
Life is short and resources are limited, use your time and resources to improve yourself and achieve great things instead of wasting them on spiritual highs ( spiritual activities seems to stimulate centres of the brain that makes people have a feeling of euphoria, just like psychotic drugs) You know, it's not every day that one gets to read something this sensible around here. |

I will not rush to Judgement on this. They infer that allegation from the picture. |

Priceless200: Wow! Interesting,.. Just pop the question @ bolded.... Maybe you can share some recipe and pictures, I will like to explore more about Oats, heard it's a very much preferable healthy food... And I like experimenting with foods, I have tried cooking with fresh fruits, Apple, banana, honey etc.. Let's share more. Thank you Wow, I'm likely to one of these days! Watch out for me. I like to experiment with different types of food too. Looking forward to more of your food threads. I started making my own meals not too long ago after it became clear to me that most of the restaurants in my local government area had taken counsel to commence the process of killing me gradually. You’re right about the healthfulness of oats. Sorry, I’m a bit dumb with cameras but hee’s what I put in my morning oats. I add a tablespoon of maple syrup (that stuff is hard to get in Lagos nowadays, so I’m forced to substitute some other syrup) and a tablespoon and half of evaporated whole milk. That completely takes care of the tastelessness. I’m a health conscious eater but I’ve figured out that milk is good for my body type, and I don’t eat this every day. If you have any concerns about whole milk you can use skimmed milk but since that doesn’t deal with the tastelessness as effectively you’d have to use more syrup. (Skimmed milk is not really a good health option too.) Or honey. I don’t use it for my oats but it may be good for you. I think these are better than salt because they provide a better creamy taste. Besides, Nigerians eat too much salt already. Then I throw in either dates (dried) or raisins or raw almonds (peeled) – for something to chew. Plus these three items are superhealthy. I usually take it with either akara, or moi moi, or blackeyed peas, or sautéed peas and mushrooms, or red kidney beans since I like my breakfast to carry me till about four when I eat my second and last meal of the day. I just read your other thread. I haven’t got round to this “oatmeal” thing yet, but I’ll sure like to try it with vegetable soup sometime. Wish I could get a bag like that one to send to my mom. I guess I should check to those Lebanese shops at Opebi. @Italics. Tried pineapple before? It's great. |

Priceless200: All my life I have hated Oats, gosh! No taste, until recently, after hearing much about it, and with lots of recommendations, I now kinda love it, but it's tiring having to just prepare it same way everytime, who is in same shoe with me? I want more practical ways of preparing oat dishes (not theories please, show us with pictures, how you did it)... Well, I could marry you! I'm an oats person. I ate oats this morning. I ate oats yesterday. I eat oats almost every day. I dealt with its tastelessness and tiresomeness long ago. I've learnt to use dates, almonds, raisins, and syrups. I also use cinnamon powder, although that doesn't really enhance the taste; it enhances its flavour and nutritional attributes. Some people use salt to deal with tastelessness and I think that is quite okay, but my real aces are whole milk and syrups. I actually look forward to my oats and akara or oats and moi and moi breakfast nowadays. |

symbianDON: your worries are quite reasonable....nonetheless however you look at it, it's still safer than eating the imported ones. Well, I'd like to think so too, but antibiotics resistance is already a serious issue in medicine. In a country where government is non-existent in terms of food inspection, I think there is cause to worry. I guess I have to think about giving up chicken. It will be tough since I don't eat beef or goat meat or anything like those, but I'm sure I can figure out something. |

Dude, his last wife was 18 when he married her. That's the legal age of consent.
Let's not be sentimental here. The North is the hotbed of culturally recognised, paedophilia motivated marriages but the case of Sanusi and his youngest wife is not one. I think he was on about the fact Sanusi's daughter is single despite being a full grown adult, whereas a poor man's daughter would have long been married off. |

I see people exchanging hot words on the streets of Lagos on a daily basis and you want to put firearms in that equation ? All we need is to empower the police and make them effective, American gun culture is nothing to emulate. Add to that the fact that we have no effective police to monitor the firearms. Our police don't even know what fingerprints are. If kill someone in street A, all you have to do is to leave street A and you're free. The police will invade street A and arrest anyone they see. And that is it. |

Children are great to have, beautiful to nurture, but they don't follow marriage automatically. You have to really want them and prepare for them, so they can, at least, have a basic good life.
