How HOAX Mermaid 'mockumentary' gave Animal Planet its biggest audience EVER
By RACHEL QUIGLEY

It reeled in the network's biggest audience in its 17-year history and caused an immediate Twitter frenzy that is still trending today.

But Animal Planet's Sunday 'documentary' about the existence of mermaids was nothing but a hoax, it emerged today, a revelation that will likely disappoint the show's record 3.6 million viewers.

'Mermaids: The New Evidence' was advertised as a follow-up to last year's 'Mermaids: The Body Found', with biologist Dr Paul Robertson returning with what appeared to be brand new footage of the alleged mythical creatures, allegedly taken this spring in the Greenland Sea.

Jack: Let me talk to him. He views you and everyone here as a subordinate.... He knows my history...
Eric: Ok. You can talk to him - as soon as we set up the interrogation. But if you cross the line, I’m pulling you.
Jack: Just so we are clear, I wasn’t asking. That was me being courteous.

So you haven't seen any pictures of the kidnapped girls or their parents which makes it hard for you to believe there was a kidnapping! Cool. Just dig a hole in the sand and bury your head in it - you should be very comfortable in that posture.

That Nigerian guy is trying buh to be honest, I don't like his acting....
Gbenga Akinnagbe. I'm not feeling him, too. He's just there. But I guess it's the role - Kate and Navarro are the ones meant to be doing stuff from the CIA end.

Tayo2k7: Wow, that was some sort of an unforgettably shocking moment in the series. For weeks I kept asking myself why jack dint shoot him in the arm, leg or anywhere else just to incapacitate him, and the way jack cried at the end of that season was EPIC
No be only you. I've never understood why the director did that. That was a killing that should never had happened.

Politics › Re: Most Boko Haram Weapons Are Stolen From The Nigerian Army by JuanDeDios: 9:37pm On Jul 01, 2014
Nafeesa AA: Someone wrote this

I cannot for the life of me comprehend how utterly irrational some people are: So
just to discredit GEJ, APC/Northerners will:
1. Create, arm, sustain and support Boko Haram on a rampage that;

a. Kills hundreds of Muslims
b. Destroys Northern Schools
c. Bombs Mosques
d. Slaughter their own kids
e Kidnap their girls
f. Kill their imams
g. Destroys their cities, crops, livestock, and livelihood
h. Turns them to refugees across Cameroon and Niger
2. Just to deny Jonathan a second term, the North will
a. Ravage its Economy
b. Destroy its Political base
c. Murder APC members

See how silly that looks? if the North wants to discredit GEJ, it instead would attack PDP members, GEJ Loyalist and structures. In short, the North and/or BH will fundamentally direct their insurgency at the socio-political base of GEJ so as to create disillusionment, disaffection, fear and frustration from his brethren and supporters especially those from the North.

FACTS
Someone, somewhere is fomenting this unrest precisely to generate the reaction of
the most nigerians gullible afterall. BH is a creation of someone, somewhere to discredit the north, destroy its economy and people, divide its unity, destabilize it politically, and ultimately cause the balkanization of nigeria. And it shall fail insha Allah.
So you believe some southerner is paying some northerners to destroy their own region - in other words, northerners are not responsible, but this mysterious southerner of your speculation is.

Please explain how your theory is any more sensible than the one you set out counter. Demonstrate how you are not gullible. Thank you.

Education › Re: Six (6) Most Expensive Secondary Schools In Nigeria (alarming School Fees) by JuanDeDios: 6:24pm On Jun 28, 2014
Some of them are not even good schools. A school must have a standard football pitch and other sporting facilities. It must have a hall. Some of these schools lack these.

Politics › Re: SSS Warned Abuja Malls About Possible Terror Attacks by JuanDeDios: 9:38am On Jun 28, 2014
shaggy007: Terrorists know the security agents have informants among them. So, they don't give out definitive information. They plan an area to bomb, say a park, or a mall...all their people will know is that either a park will be bombed today or a mall. The main suicide bomber are told the exact venue once they're geared up and set out for the attack...funny enough the actual siucide bombers are not told where they'll attack till. That's why these brainwashed guys are very dangerous. Their sponsors should be gone after, and not the foot soldiers.
Thank you. At last, one sensible post.
Politics › Re: SSS Warned Abuja Malls About Possible Terror Attacks by JuanDeDios: 9:37am On Jun 28, 2014
phlemzy: Does SSS expect business owners in Abuja shopping malls to all shutdown their businesses all because Bokoharam will be visiting? How come all of dis bloodshedding seems to have far ending. Where do we seek for further help to overcome all dis??
Where did they ask anyone to close their business, please? In intelligence, when you have warning like this and you don't know when and where exactly they intend to strike, you issue a general warning. The expected reaction is that the malls would increase security, for example man every gate with men and dogs and frisk everyone. Some of that appears to have been done here hence the bomber could not gain entrance which would have probably brought down the building and killed more people.

vedaxcool: It is the ss job to prevent attacks not just to warn about them, the last time I check malls don't have the technology to prevent bombs from blasting.
What's your point, sir? That they can prevent every attack or that they should not have issued the warning?

Great initiative.

We live in the tropics where our skin needs some form of protection from the sun. Creams contain sunscreen. Does exfoliating take care of that?

Travel › Re: How To Survive A Plane Crash (with Illustrative Pictures) by JuanDeDios: 3:48pm On Nov 02, 2013
sauer: Good point! Almost no one survives a plane crash at that height. Nearly all survivor stories are just a little over 3000-5000feet, some even 600 or so feet. But some people have indeed survived crashes above 30,000feet.
e.g. Vesna Vulović http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vesna_Vulovi%C4%87. " It has since been stated that she survived because she had been in the rear part of the plane"

Oh! The tail again!
Yes, but few crashes happen at 30,000 feet. Most crashes happen during or close to take off/landing. That the makes the write-up very relevant.
