Atlantis85: Yes that's what uel form stated. I just wasn't sure I got that right. So its the Yes box that's to be ticked then?6.17 says: Do you have any remaining fees and maintenance still due for payment? The answer is NO, if you have paid all your fees. |
Donxavier: Thanks Great advice. As regards the.20hr work. Is there a downside to working more hours. I don't intend breaking the law but am just curious as to how they go about ensuring you only work for 20hrs. And will it be divided over the 7 days? Like say you work 3hrs everyday or can there be only weekends, say just 10hrs sat and 10hrs Sun.Working more than 20hrs a wk can get you in more trouble than you bargained for, with your £7200 maintenance money and 20hrs work you should be fine. The 20hrs can be done in 2days or 5days, it all depend on the type of job you got and how many hours the employer has for you per day. Part time jobs could last for a wk, a month or even yrs, its a random thing. Yes getting any job now is difficult, not just part time job, some may be lucky to get one quicker, for some people it may take ages, employers have thousands of job seekers to choose from so they can decide to pick the best CV out of thousands, so its a tough call. You need to get national insurance number before you even start applying for job, your tax contribution is record on it, students don't pay tax so you can claim it back if you are taxed or fill tax exemption form from your employer so that you will not be taxed. Yes you can earn up to £400 a month doing part time but that will depend on how much you are paid per hr, by law national minimum wage is £6.08 per hr, multiplier that by 20hrs per wk x 4. You could be lucky to be paid £6.30. or £7.00.....per hr, its not guaranteed but the minimum you will be paid is £6.08 per hr. |
Vet did not make it to top 10 of the qualifying, interesting. |
qmod: Hi, did you finally get your e-passport? I have the old type of passport and want to upgrade to the e-passport. Will my new e-passport have the same passport number as my old one which is not an e-passport?It will have a different number. |
Atlantis85: Not sure what to tick here (6.17).I ticked 'Yes' as shown in the uel interactive form but still not sure. I have paid my fees in full and have no outstanding payments. Any help please?Since you have paid your fees then tick No and move to other question |
Donxavier: Wow this is amazing. This means the £800pm for outer london is a luxury budget. Its possible to get a single bedroom for £200 a month including the bills but the accommodation may not be in great condition or closer to university. There are single rooms going for £260pm including bills but the accommodation is in great condition. Yes you could save £400 if you avoid a lot of temptations, if nothing....then.... |
Donxavier: Like how much deposit are we talking about? Any idea an average deposit for single room? Those that you said are around £170-£250 per month. In most cases...if the rent is £200 a month then you will be asked to deposit £200 as well. |
Donxavier: @ Justwise,You pay the deposit plus one month rent to start with then its monthly after that, You will be given your deposit back when you are moving out of the room. |
earthgreeners: @Spencer, I hail ooo Please explain what you meant by soft in approach. |
Donxavier: This is quite cheap. But what bills are inclusive? I'm guessing maybe only electricity to be this cheap. All bills........gas, water, electricity, internet. the kitchen must be equip with washing machine, fridge, microwave, cooker and dryer sometimes. The room will have reading table, wardrobes and sometimes bookshelf, but you must view it to confirm all these, online pictures are nothing. |
Ishilove: There you are!! Don't worry, we will work on it. . .Ok, will ask my mum ![]() |

Ishilove: Check well to make sure no one ate beans and egg around you...that could be what you're are smellingYes i'm a very shy person. ![]() |
Vicjustice: Me too. But before Ishilove and Justwise fall in serious love, i like to recommend that they exchange photos and be sure of each other since you can't judge a person's appearance by the way s/he writes. This can only come from you judging by your signature, match-maker ![]() |
Tinkybabe: I still don't understand what this is all about.I read it on yahoo news yesterday and couldn't make a head or tail of the news.I still can't.This is the answer here... debosky: Universities 'sponsor' a student that has applied to their institution, saying he/she is genuine and is coming to study. The student applies and is given a visa on the basis of that 'sponsorship' and it is the responsibility of the university to ensure that students it vouched for to receive visas are indeed studying. If/when the university discovers students it vouched for are not studying, such students should be reported to the authorities for deportation. |
Vergil: Immigration record? How? Guess it would only concern them KF they intend on going back for visit. But, if they do, on what grounds will they be refuseed? If you live in a country illegally, studied illegally and left the country, what do you think that will happen next time if you applied for visa to re-enter? It will even be more difficult if you are applying for student visa for another study in the UK, the issue of your status when you got the qualification will come into the picture. |
olowo200: Am just trying to help the guy now , what do you want me to do you should have allow the guy to contact me first and let him complain whether i don't help him what is the mode of this forum is it not to help fellow nairalander who is a visa touts .If you want to 'help' the guy then do it openly here. No email dropping for private chat. |
zacky006: @ Justwise, thank you very much i got right, i missed a zip for another thats the problem but now resolved. *thumbs up*Good. |
Ziggy Himself: Dude seriously...right now am not happy with you.. Your statement now makes me look like a fraud myself....but hey? I dont give a heck abt dat right now. Full Stop..Some of the stuff you listed there makes you look like 'fraud', not my comment. |
Vergil: Yh meant if they had already finished their courses in the school. So it remains ok u meant to say?If they have finished their course the certificate remains ok but their immigration record will still be a prob. They can get their licence back by cleaning up their house, vet students properly, keep track of students who does not attend lectures or show up at all after they might have arrived in the UK. |
Ishilove: To Turkey with you...duh!!! dem send you? |
Zeus I: EeehyaaaTrade carefully you two, tribal comments/posts don't stand a chance in Travel Section, so don't even go there. |
Vergil: So what happens to the certificates of those students who weren't legit when they studied there? They can't render their certificate useless. Can they?If they were not found out at that time then their certificate remains Og. |
Long One: Nah, I blame UKBA 60%, as they are fond of making hasty decisions. Last problem I had involved one of such decisions, which was used against them in court. The most annoying part is they didn’t even send a Lawyer/Solicitor, and I spent enough £’s on mine.I have won a case against them and they did not send any lawyer neither did i use any lawyer. If they knew that they don't stand a chance in a case why wasting money on a lawyer? |
afam4eva: I guess "over-exaggerated is just to paint an astronomical picture that exaggerated may not cover".That is the point. |
kandiikane: LOL! Who told you so?That figure was not stated in UKBA website neither was it stated in bbc or skynews website that reported the news first. |
shadrach77: they exaggerated - there is no such thing as over exaggerateYou can use 'over exaggerate'... when the exaggeration is over the top, then its fair to say that one has 'over exaggerated' |
zacky006: "you need to have the following volume extraction before you can continue"forward the file to me let me unzip it and send it back to you unzipped |
mukina2: http://www.businessdayonline.com/NG/index.php/news/284-breaking-news/43661-15-000-nigeria-students-face-deportation-in-uk I think that website over exaggerated the figure of Nigerians affected. Out of 2000 foreign students affected, 1500 can not possibly be Nigerians. |
