Justwise, there is a process called STUDENT SELECT SCHEME, whereby student applications from recognised agencies are fast tracked. The 2 that I know are BCIE (British Canada International Education) and PFL (Preparation for Life)
Ok, i never knew about that.

There is no need to panic. Did you get a recommendation that you applied through an education agency registered with the British Council? Because normally student's visa takes btw 10 - 15 working days for processing, while those that apply tnrough recognised agents takes btw 5 - 10 working days, bearing in mind that we are in the middle of the peak period, it could take a bit longer before visa's are issue. Therefore you have no cause for alarm.
Please where did you get that from? Can you name any of those agencies?

Please your visa will be stamped at the Embassy after your interview with the Visa committee and you will pick up your passport from the embsassy yourself and not from roadside, You are guaranteed visa. Thanks
There is nothing like guaranteed visa, nobody can guarantee you a visa.

Washing dishes in the Uk restaurant and you are proud big time as the chief officer executive immigrant in charges of the entire dish washer in entire united kingdom. You inherited that from you four four fathers. Been the only professional job in the entire family of yours. And still you cannot feed yourself. Get a good life. You low life monkey.

No scam and No upfront payment, you must show evidence that you have the charges in your disposal, offer last till january 2011
Obviously its CON, no upfront payment means absolutely nothing, payment will still take place after stamping that fake visa stamp on the passport.

@All: I'm actually sorry 4 just posting this. I guess am just waking up to this reality. We(myself and 4 other friends) got our visas yesterday aftern'n, which happens to be the 17th day of our submission. We basically digested the guidance note and made sure we wrote a well researched personal statement. Above all, we fought for it in the spiritual. This is through fasting and prayer. Best of favour to those awaiting their visa decisions.
Congrat and all the best with ur studies.

In case you are new here, that the way Nigerians reacts on tread like this, they don’t have joy not to talk of sympathy.

I have come in contact with other country forums, they don’t exchange words like we niajas do. Before you make a post like this, be ready for a million insults, so take it like that. And be strong

@ usewisdom, i respect your ideals but did not agree with.

if we must analyze why people travel out of Nigeria, we can not do that without classifying the differences or the gap between the rich and poor. Nigeria is a country where 20% are multi millionaires and the remaining 80% are about to die because of hunger.
i was in Spain 2 years ago, a friend of mine decided to go back to Nigeria finally, but people united to persuede him not to go back to our useless country. at least, there is no hunger in Europe, there is security of life and property, there is social, good medical cares e.t.c.
in Nigeria graduates receive 10 naira as monthly saraly. all the same, i am not saying that Europe is heaven, but our place is hell to 80% of the population who fall into the non- ruling class.
A graduate of pure water? Are u just making things up here?

yea,you would still be given 10%,you are right.Housing is like £50-£100 per week(excluding bills), but african food is expensive here (a little bit than in London),But you wont really need to get around in public transportation during term time cos the school bus takes students freely and most students live in houses on the school bus route.I hope you got my point
Yea i get ur point. Do you have any contact for accommodation? Studio apartment or flat sharing, any good info will help my budgeting.

Sure,i am, and i hope you know the fees are moderate compared to other good universities around, would have been ok if you studied for your undergrad there cos yu'd be entitled to the 20% alumni discount like in my case
Sadly i did not, studied my undergrad in another uni here, yes Portsmouth is very moderate compared to others i have checked out.
They also give 10% GOAL Award to foreign students.

I don't know much about the cost of living there, most especially the accommodation.

I initially wanted to do my MSc at Kent but the tuition fee put me off, it was about £14,000 for my course.
You are right there, Kent asking fees is just out of this planet, i'm not only considering fees, cost of living in that city matters alot.

Still considering other universities, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Kent. . etc have to visit those cities b4 making up my mind. Hopefully by next wk i will be done with that.

please, i am in serious need of help, i have the school fees, but i can only pay on the 13th of september, ao also, i can only afford to put the 5,400 pounds in my account on the 13th of september, and my school resumes on the 4th of october, how and what can i do, i have about 12k pounds, and mony is not the problem, the challenge i have now is time. i aplied to the canadian embassy for study permit to canada, and i just recieve my documents back, please, do uu think i can apply on the 30th of september, and still get the visa,
Why not go for Jan admission season? If the money is deposited on the 13th of Sept, u have to wait for 28days b4 going for visa application, that will be sometime 11th of Oct, then u have to wait for 15 more days or less for the out come of the visa.

You will be basically miss 3wks of the semester.

If u insist then ask ur school for 2wks extension while you wait for the outcome of the visa.
