sweetgal81: Hello house, I just got an admission to do an MBA @ Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland for Jan 2018, but would love to go with my 3kids. I want to apply for our visa together. My question is, do l apply alone and go first or apply with them together because l actually want to go with them. 1. Can you comfortably afford it? 2. Have you made childcare arrangement for your kids? |

Buku: Congratulations, I have also gained admission to study in the same uni for Jan 2018. With my experience, I think you should apply first, then apply for your children before leaving the country (kindly note that time is of essence here) ...except you are using super priority option which is quite expensive for 4 applicants...I don't think it's really okay to apply with 3 children at once because the ECO might as well consider how you would take care of them in the UK alone. So I think you should get yours first, then go ahead with theirs. I wish you the very best. So what difference does it make? |

Siga: ...I get what you are saying ... but that's not the case all the time... there are procedure.... but it does not mean they follow it all the time... I know what I am talking about bro... U are right, procedure do exist.... but are they followed 100% all the time? Same applies to Processing time... is it followed in most cases? That is not the point, whether they are followed all the time is not the issue here, the issue is that the op was sent a procedural fairness letter and you said he got nothing to worry about and should not beg them, you also went on to say: 'If they have no plan to issue ur visa, they won't even contact u'. That is my issue with your post. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by justwise(mod): 12:28pm On Oct 27, 2017 |
Siga: ... Justwise... there are cases where they denial and part of the denial reason is the oversight or misrepresentation...so, calling it a normal procedure as you say is not correct.... it is the decision of the reviewer whether or not to contact the applicant... I thought you should have researched about procedural fairness when it comes to misrepresentation by an applicant. The info is everywhere online. Yes its a normal procedure Decision-makers are required to follow the rules of procedural fairness throughout the decision-making process.
Procedural fairness requires that applicants:
be provided with a fair and unbiased assessment of their application be informed of the decision-maker’s concerns and have a meaningful opportunity to provide a response to concerns about their application
The requirement for procedural fairness applies to all types of immigration and citizenship applications and all aspects of decision-making http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/service/fairness.asphttp://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/cit/admin/decision/natural.asp |

aye88: Justwise please why was my post edited. I didn't mention any hospital name now. What's my offence You are asking people to do their own research and complaining about people that are flooding cheap hospitals mentioned here but at the same time you are mentioning cheap ones you saw online. I said this in part or two that people should do their own research and stop recycling one hospital else they will increase their prices. Many people reading this thread are agents looking out for such info to give to their clients for a huge fees. |

Casualbox: @justwise and other guru in the house.
Finally I submitted on last week and I got an SMS to pick my passport this wee.
On getting back there I discovered that I was not issued the visa based on..... "Transaction attached on bank statement lack credibility"
The account in question is my personal account but thinking back i remembered that about 500k was transferred to me by a customer on Friday to make my balance 900k plus. I printed my statement on Monday after I bought goods worth 470k but the lady that attended to me in the bank said that the statement will stop as at Friday.
VFS said I can re-apply within the next 10days.
Kindly advice. You can print a new bank statement and reapply as advised by VFS. Explain the issue of 500k that was transferred before you made the application. |

Siga: Fear not.... u are even lucky they asked for such detail... ensure you write a very good letter...itemize all US visa refusals with reason why they were refused.... Do not beg... I repeat , don't write please, forgive me blah blah blah... Be very professional and answer all questions asked... U will be fine...If they have no plan to issue ur visa, they won't even contact u...Now, whatever u write in that letter of explanation is key to issuing u that visa... Not entirely true, contacting applicants involved in misrepresentation is a normal procedure. Decision-makers send Procedural fairness letter in a spirit of fairness. In many cases the applicant will still be refused and banned at the end |

funmido: Hello, @Justwise @Bright @Solatium @Ekpotek and everyone in the house,
Kindly advice:
I submitted a completed online application for a tourist visa on the 4th of October but cancelled/requested for a refund on the 5th of October 2017 upon detecting an error i made in section/part 2. (Please note that biometrics and submission date was scheduled for the 12th of October but wasn’t honored as i had already cancelled)
Now on the 15th of October, i made a fresh application online, paid the visa fee, submitted and went for my biometrics yesterday 24/10/2017
But to my surprise, up till this minute i haven’t received a mail or any refund alert from the British Embassy (visa4UK) concerning the previous cancelled
Kindly advice...
Thank you all! You have to contact the embassy to chase that up |

Do I include it and explain how the business it? You can do that but there is no guarantee that explanation alone will work without paper evidence. |

buddiemm: Thanks Justwise. My sponsor said they can't access the CoS again as it has been marked as USED after the administrative review. That is why they are suggesting if they should issue me a new CoS. The ECM had revoked the first reason why my application was denied and said I can apply for administrative review for this new refusal notice but I think they deliberately denied my application. Please what do you think I can do. Even after they stated clearly that the role in CoS did not meet the criteria for a field worker” under the meaning in Appendix A part 111(c) of the Rules you are still claiming that it was a delibrate act? Have you or your sponsor studied Appendix A part 111(c) of the Rules to know if indeed your role met the requirement? They can issue you a new CoS but the issue of your role has to be addressed on it. |

But my sponsor said may be I should apply with a new CoS. What do you think please? And please what do you think my sponsor can add now to the new coS apart from my appointment letter. Thanks Applying with new CoS is not the issue here, the issue is that your role did not meet the criteria. Your sponsor need to study the refusal letter and amend the CoS to meet the criteria |

Ademidun1: Dear fellow nairalanders, I've been a silent reader on this group; even before I had the opportunity to apply for tier 2 visa which looked like a mountain lol. Maybe because there was no thread that is specifically for tier 2 visa applications. I came to this forum and asked few questions. I want to share our timeline(me and my wife) to encourage others. Biometrics- 09/10/2017. Acknowledgement mail from Sheffield- 11/10/2017. Decision mail from tls- 24/10/2017. Passports with visa collected on 26/10/2017. I acknowledge God for being ever faithful. I thank Justwise and other people who answered the questions I asked here. God bless you all. NB- We submitted our biometrics in Abuja, went with a lot of documents including photocopies of our previous passports, wedding and other family pictures, offer letter from my employer, evidence of accommodation mail, cover letter etc. They didn't collect them at all the tls office. The only documents they collected were: 1. Front pages of our visa application print out. 2. Valid international passports. Marriage certificate, COS print out l, police clearance and TB certificates were only collected, scanned and returned to us immediately. I was so confused and angry at the same time. I asked them why they didn't allow us to support supporting documents we brought, but the lady that attended to us said that according to the new rule, they didn't need any other thing. I became so worried and to crown it all, the decision was made within 2 weeks of biometrics. What I learned from the whole thing is that, when God says the time to do something is now, no one can say no. I'm so grateful to Him. I pray for all those waiting for their visas too, that you will hear good news too. Amen!! Congratulations! |

bigfrancis21: See eh, one thing I do know about visiting the US for childbirth is that you should be able to afford all medical expenses related to the delivery and not depend on medicaid here in the US for part or most of your expenses, or else you may be found ineligible for future B1/B2 visa renewal should you want to re-enter again. That being said, you should be looking at areas here where childbirth is quite affordable for international pregnant women, and co-incidentally El Paso in Texas happens to be number 1 or 2 lately for many foreign Nigerian pregnant women. Follow the link justwise for more information. Good luck. Unfortunately she has taken Medicaid already and now looking for a way to pay back. |

UKmigrant: Also, I was able to open an account with HSBC after calling to schedule an appointment, someone at the HR dept of my work place placed the call and introduced me before handing me the phone. The call lasted for almost an hour because they kept transfering my call to other agents and each of them was asking me the same stupid questions over and over again. They asked for my work contract, my passport, residence permit, and proof of address.
I finally got to the bank at the scheduled time and the whole thing lasted for about an hour. The customer service agent explained to me the different kinds of accounts. They also offered me a credit card and said I can borrow up to 1500 pounds with no interest if I pay up all I borrowed within a month and also that I can make an overdraft of 2500 pounds on my debit card. Told me all I have to do to avoid being charged interests on credit card spendings and overdrafts. He also advised that I use my credit card as often as posssible, but that I should always be paying up within a month to avoid being charged interests and to also improve my credit score in case I want to apply for a mortgage or car loan later.
I was given my account number there and then and also had my internet banking activated. He told me to expect my debit and credit cards delivered in 2 to 3 working days at my address. UKmigrant: I left the bank around 5pm was very tired and hungry, so I decided to visit a Nigerian family I met while on a train I took Liverpool Street Station on Monday who invited me to their home. They made me a feast, chai!. I finally ate my first naija food (apart from indomie) since my arrival. It was jollof rice with assorted meat and salad. I made sure I did justice to it and cleared the plate. I have a lot of naija food but I am yet to unpack them as I have been busy doing documentations and training at work. I intend to cook stew by weekend if I have the strength.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the food, sorry! Its all in my tummy now! You are a good story teller |

Please this is to everyone...if u feel a question is “lazy”’, kindly ignore it...cos to me and probably some other people here, the reply u give at the end is stupid .. and you are very polite right? Many of you lecturing the rest of us about politeness need their own advice. This is the post: Supernaturalone: Why do you have to be so confused? If you've followed this thread, you'll realise that the advice from even the visa officers on similar scenarios is for your wife to get another visa, for the purpose childbirth, to avoid unnecessary issues at the POE. She should ensure that she does it through an interview, so that she has an opportunity to disclose that intent to them snd provide all relevant information and go with all the necessary paperwork. Oncr this is done, you can purchase your tickets as intended, for the varying durations for you and the family. I wonder, though, how she plans to cope with 2 kids plus one on the way for that duration of time. What is rude about this post? |
