nairalandnewbie: Good Day,
I was advised by my friend to join the blog and read up on my study permit requirement but i'm a bit lost as to where to start from to get the requisite information i need at the moment. The thread is quite long.
Just a background story: I am a law graduate and I've been called to bar for about three years.I'm currently working and I have about 18 months post nysc work experience. I'm interested in traveling to Canada for a new career path in business. However, due to the high tuition rate for MBA i opted for a diploma in Business administration. I have an online business which i have managed personally for about 2 years and has yielded lot of returns and i would like to gain more knowledge and better business skills hence my interest in Business. I applied to Lakeland college and Assiniboine community college. I have gotten a letter from both colleges. I intend to start my visa application by March but I don't want to make any mistake. Hence my long talk
Now these are my questions: 1. Due to limited funds as requested by CIC, I intend to use my employer as sponsor (which my boss has agreed to) but i'm a bit skeptical about it because i think it will be frowned out. ( A law firm sponsoring an employee for a business diploma for 2 years) doesn't look feasible to me. what do u guys think? 2.Can i please get a link to checklist of the required documents for the visa application. 3. A letter of explanation format, please do you have any? 4. Do you think it is wise to include the fact that i have an online business in my letter? 5. Do you think i should state the high tuition rate for mba has the reason for my diploma choice? 6. As regards financial support, should i use my employer or look for funds n transfer same to my mum's account and use hers instead? 7. Is the funds indicated meant to be fixed or recurring?( should there be a fixed amount or they just need to see constant flow of cash? 8. Should i go ahead and apply for my study permit with the letter of acceptance?
Thank you for taking time to read my message; i know it is quite lengthy God Bless. 1. Not a good idea because it's not feasible 4. Nothing wrong with this as it shows source of income. 5. Not a good idea 6. Use a finance with a traceable source. 7. It doesn't matter 8. It should be part of the package |

paige6533: Hi everyone,
Starting from the beginning, my ex boyfriend is not from the UK and came over here on a tourist visa early last year, we met end of summer and instantly clicked straight away - I have never had such a strong connection to someone before. Basically by the time we got close and felt as though he could fully trust me he told me that his visa had run out and he was staying here illegally. He told so if i wanted to end everything there he wouldn't blame me. It was a big shock and left me so confused but i knew he was the one and we was going to carry on as usual and live each day as it came as I was so happy with him.
His family back in his home country have recently had a family crisis and he has come to the decision that he has to go home back to be with them as he also misses them very much. It was a hard decision but its what has to be done as he loves this country and just wants to be able to make a life here, get a job, make a family, own a home and so on.
We are not together anymore as i agreed we best stop seeing each other otherwise it will only be harder for when he does go home. His planning on going back in the next few weeks which would mean he would have overstayed his tourist visa for about 6 months. So he is going back voluntary and paying for his own ticket home.
What will happen now to him once he gets to the airport? Will he defiantly be banned from entering the UK again, if so for how long? Would there be any way at all for him to be able to come back?
I love him dearly but I am only 20 years old, if I was a few years older I would 100% go back with him just so we can be together. Now i am just worrying about the situation hoping he will all be okay. I know what he done was wrong, and a year back I would be moaning about this situation, however meeting someone who has actually overstayed and seeing how much they just want to make a life here makes me realise so much. There is nothing for him back in his home country. It has made me realise that we defiantly take our lives for granted over here in the UK.
I just need to put my mind at ease as I cant stop worry about it all as I just want more anything to be able to be with him
**I would just like to add he is not from Nigeria, i know this is a Nigerian post site but I wanted to get many answers to find out what will happen** He will be banned for 2yrs if he leaves within 6months but its 5yrs if he overstays longer than 6months. |

Pidgin2: Lol okay, that will be very nice indeed. I love my country though and to me it has never been a liability. Enjoy your stay, if you can but if not at least enjoy the weather cos the weather in England is dreadful, especially during winter so at least you can enjoy the beauty of our endless sunshine If the sun is man made many Nigerians will not be able to afford it. Nigeria is a failed state, I can't even recognise area I grew up here in Abuja, nothing works, no light we are relying on power bank to charge phones, Abuja is now like an advanced Pakistan. President missing, he is now a status of liberty where people visit to take pictures to reassure Nigerian that he is still alive but he doesn't talk |

Pidgin2: Agreed, but only if you were born in England not Nigeria. It's your kids that will not be Nigerians since I guess they are not born here and knowing you, it's unlikely you will get them a Nigerian passport When I'm married and have kids I will make sure they avoid that passport, it's a liability |

EvaMD: hello House, Congratulations to everyone who have been successful in their quest.
long post alert.
My Husband and I are applying for a spousal visa next month or in April and I want to get things right. He is a British citizen by naturalization and got this BP in 2015, before then I had applied for a visiting visa in 2013 and passport was impounded based on them seeing a fake Kenyan visa on that passport ( I used an agent who got me a fake Kenyan visa and I didn't know), see attachment. I got a new passport and applied for Schengen (france), and Canada visa last year and have been refused, I also applied for American visa in 2015 and was refused so basically have travel history of Ghana and Dubai ( travelled last in 2013)
fast forward 2017, I am married and we have a child ( we are currently in d process of getting a British passport for her) and he wants us to do the application for a spouse for me to join him before the end of this year. my husband works in the UK but comes to Nigeria frequently and wants us to do the application from here.
he will be coming this Easter and is thinking of applying from here.
please what's the best strategy to take in making sure we cover all angles because I don taya for this long distance marriage ( this thing is not easy ooooo.. emotionally and all other ally you can think of.
I have been following this thread and all other NL threads and need help.
cc @justwise @lexusgs430 @Abbylove, @portsmouth86, @newbie715, @light me @Uchman365, @dday101 @stillwaiting and all the other gurus in the house You just have to be honest in your application about all the refusals especially the issue of fake Kenyan visa. Even if you are going to be refused use this first application to clear all your 'sins' and apologies. Present a very tight application by submitting every document needed as many have listed here, if you don't they will frustrate you with refusals. |

Ojcrown: Thanks everyone,my husband said I should apply for visiting visa after 3 times denial in lagos stated:1) false document (2) Adverse Record and 3rd denial Averse Record but the reason of denial in Abuja stated "No Fainacial Prove form Parent" gives me hope if can apply for that same study permit.my question now is 1)should apply for visiting visa as my husband said or I should reapply for study permit in Abuja and add my parents financial prove? Please house advise me on step to make The refusal will keep coming if you failed to address the reason for the first refusal which is fake document. Adverse record comment is linked to your first refusal reason. Speak to your husband honestly about those documents he sent you for the first application. If they are all genuine..e.g bank statement, business papers etc. Please stop wasting your money applying for more visa types without addressing the reason for the first refusal. |

I used their flight from London to Addis Ababa then Abuja yesterday and the flight to Abuja was terrible. |

Submit your copy of your Mexican visa, proof of accommodation both in Mexico and Belize and flight ticket dasparrow: Justwise
I still don't know what is holiday booking. Also, I don't know if one is allowed to select an appointment date or the computer selects one for me. I don't want an appointment date too far away. Also must I purchase my flight ticket or will just an airline reservation be okay? ekpotek: Ethiopian Airline will take you Mexico from Lagos via Addis. You do not need transit through the UK. I'm not sure if you read reply to your questions |

radwad: .
Thanks alot. 1)How do i go about the 600k deposit i told you about?.should i still allow the deposit to bee done at once or instalmentally?.preferably to my salary or savings account?. 2)How do i explain the money is frm the proceeds of my unregistered business and not be denied of visa. 3) the #1million naira is what i intend to state as my cost of expenses viz-a-viz flight ticket and hotel booking and money to spend on other miscellaneous in d UK...so,how do u think i should do the breakdown for the question of "HOW MUCH DO U INTEND TO SPEND IN UK" that will my visa application sensible(need to remind u my salary is 250k/month). 4)Also dont forget that in my application,i intend to state that i want to spend 2weeks for the vacation as part of my annual leave. ***I wouldnt spend more than 2-3days after my exam***
@Justwise and other learned contributors please. 1. Explain it on the form and show evidence of the business dealings..e.g receipts and contract papers 2. This is the same as number 1 question 3. Budget this trip within two months of your salaries(500K) to give yourself a better chance of getting a visa, focus on cost of flight, accommodation, transport within the UK and feeding. Shopping shouldn't be part of this. Locate a hotel close to your exam centre to reduce cost of transport, look for budget hotels(travelodge, premier Inn, and many others) some go as low as £30-40 per night. Get the actual cost of flight, hotel, transport cost within the city you will be staying to help you come up with an accurate budget. If you guessed these figures the ECO will know because its pretty easy to find out online. This will help you answer question about how much the trip will cost you. |

capsie18: Hello House and thanks to all those that have contributed in one way or the other.
Now this is my scenario: I applied for my Passport renewal and did my capture in London on October 20 2016 and even opted for a special delivery option to my apartment in the UK. Early this month I had to make an emergency travel to Nigeria for some issue that needed sorting so I applied for an emergency travel document which I paid £100 for due to their incompetence( not bothered about that anyway). Now I'm in Nigeria and I need to go back to the UK and I am currently stranded because I have no valid passport and I cant even apply for a new one because they said I have already captured in London. Please house who can advise me on what to do as this is really frustrating.
Thanks Concerned Individual Are you a British passport holder or any other type of permit/visa apart from visiting visa? |
