ell77: Britain needs foreign students. I would argue this is a major pillar of our economy. I wish Leadsom had won. Even though she was a Brexiter she understood economics more. She may eventually have realised more immigration is needed when given the facts. She doesn't have the gravitas to be a PM judging by her cash-crashed and short lived campaign. She is supported by Britain First organization which is a cross between BNP and UKIP. The group made a public video support her and slagged off Theresa May and she never come out to distant herself from the group |

BarryJones: Thank you for your reply, I still have some more questions please. 1. By opening an account in the UK, do you mean that I will open an account with a Nigerian Bank, eg GTB in the UK? 2. Assuming i open a UK account, If they want to send money to me, will my parents need to convert the money to pounds with Aboki first or something like that? 3. Is there MTN, Glo or Airtel in UK? If no, what sim should i get on my arrival. How much is their data plan? I think if i can have a good data plan i can even be calling naija through free whatsapp call to save more. 4. Please do you have info about students writing ICAN in UK, I hope to complete my exams there? I know ICAN has an exam centre in London. 5. What job websites should i begin to check from now, so that i can get a part time job at least few months after my arrival? Thanks sir 1. No, you will open an account with any UK bank when you get here. 2. No, they will give the bank naira while the bank send you £ equivalent 3. There are a lot of UK mobile companies to chose from and they all have different data plans. You need to sort that out when you get here. 4. You can, again when you get here you will search for centre closer to you. 5. Indeed is good as Annalise stated, you can walk into job agencies in your university town and apply as well |

WILLIAMS10: I really appreciate ur responses. I just did an amateur calculation;let's say I make £7 an hour,in 20Hrs I'll be making £140. Which means in one month,I'll get around £560. My MA study runs for one year. With that monthly wage,I can only make about £6720 and I still have a tuition fee debt of £6000 plus accommodation wahala.Hmmmm,it's looking almost impossible. although,my brother promised to pay £2000 before I leave naija.so technically I'm left with a £4000 debt plus accommodation issues. Abeg I need more views, observation and advice. Thanks You can't pull this off because you haven't got the time, you only have one summer and that is for your final project AND your school will not give you all the time to pay up, you will be lucky to get up till Jan to pay the renaming fees. |

You are part of the reason why it's hard to help people but people like you will never spoil my good nature and desire to help. I think people should be aware of you and your cunning methods. Kid yourself! Obviously you are not honest enough to admit that you are an agent because you can't be trusted. You placed an ad for those interested in giving birth in US both here and in Health section on the 12th of Jan this year. OmoBendel24 and feddy27 posted on that thread and they later deleted their posts( i don't know why). The same day you placed an ad here offering everything from Dr, transport, accommodation and visa and attached your BBM pin I will post it here if you keep denying this. spikesC: They've seen that restricting free movement from EU is not going to be possible, so back to those they can bully. I pity new students coming in. Why aren't people looking at Germany btw? Blame the universities and student union as they have played a blinder to all these changes targeting foreign students. Remember when home student tuition fees were increased by the govt the student union encouraged all students including foreign student to match to London and demonstrate about it. It will come back to hurt them with time,They have to keep giving fee discounts or scholarships so as to attract foreign students |

I tried to confirm if it's true, using OANDA on my phone. I checked £9,315 which is N2,084,241 and £5,800- N1,297,756
I want to ask you guys, if these are the real exchange result using OANDA? And if that's the amount bank(s) will also recognise.
I will be grateful if you guys can tell me the result of those prices are correct or not.
Thanks Oanda doesn't have fake exchange rate as far as i know, so whatever rate you got there is the real exchange rate of that day, they are normally the same with the banks but whether the bank will sell at that rate is a completely difference story. |

The account I'm using for proof of support is a family member's there but during the 28 days, it went below the requirement for a short while , the account is usually way above the amount and has regular income , should I still use it ? You need Standard Visitor visa and not tier 4 visa You don't need T.B test or 28 days count This link has all the info you need https://www.gov.uk/study-visit-visa |

And they will be carrying Nigerian flag? You will see endless list of 'officials' who will accompany the athletes, these people will receive travel allowances while the athletes have to pay their way. Don't mind some people here who are condemning them, they will do exactly the same if given the opportunity. |

BarryJones: Thanks you Mr Justwise, claremont, worry359, and every one that responded to my questions. I have some more questions. 1. Can I pay my tuition fees using my Debit card? 2. Will it be best to open an account in UK or just depend on my GTB naira Mastercard for all my transactions in UK 3. What is the fee per transaction 4. How much should cash should I hold, when coming over. Thanks 1. You can confirm that from your bank. 2. Opening bank account in the UK is something you have to do else it will cost you even more to survive here. 3. I don't know as the fee changes. 4. Hold as much as you can, if you can hold £5000 or above then you will have no problem surviving here |

fakmurphy: @Justwise this the breakdown How much do you spend each month on living costs? 265 * How much of your total monthly income is given to your family members and other dependants?
28 * What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? 893
The total amount of money you have for this trip 1200
The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets 600 * The cost of your accommodation The cost of your accommodation
143 * The cost of your living expenses The cost of your living expenses
150 * Personally I think that you can't afford this 3 days conference. You will be left with almost nothing after the trip. The 1.5m in fixed deposit is not available to you for the trip. So the question is..how will this 3 days conference help your business considering the cost? |

We submitted at VI on the 4th of July, passport received at Sheffield on 9th of July, Decision made email on 18th July and passport ready for collection email on 20th July. For the benefits of couples that run a joint account, when filling the part where you are asked about the budget for the trip, fill the budget for each person in Dre forms. Then when asked if anyone is paying for part of the trip, put yes and write the name of ur spouse and explain that u are using your joint account to fund the trip. Thanks to everyone for building this thread. Congratulations! |
