koolkenzo: Hello Guru's in the house, I was denied a US tourism visa on Monday on the ground that we don't have a family travel history. I want to visit the UK with my entire family before reapplying again. What are the documents required and what's my stand with about 2M in my account. I manage my own business and my wife is working as well. We have a 13 month old son that we will love to make the trip together. I really need candid advice 1. Is your business registered? 2. what is the your average monthly net income? 3. What is your wife's salary range? |

kokorasta: 112K but I sometimes get deductions ranging from 1-10k depending on some certain things. Personally i don't think its a good idea to spend 450K in 10days while earning 112k a month, that is more than 3x of your monthly income. That is just my opinion, you can still give it a go and see how it turns out. |

Padike: @Justwise Please I tracked my application on teleperformance and it says "Decision Made" which implies application sent to the point of collection. Can I go check if it's at the teleperformance office now? Thanks When did you track it? |

esere826: again... that was my emotive suggestion
I also gave another suggestion, and we can go further to add that their government should be more proactive.
Whatever works and prevents death. that's what matters
To me that is the only sensible thing you have said so far. The killings can not justified simple. |

sunnshyn: Capital NO!! That is the point!!!!! If you don't want foreigners in your country then direct your anger to your govt, many Nigerians created their own jobs in SA, they pay into the system, they help boast SA economy just like SA companies in Nigeria does to Nigerian economy. If some heartless animals start killing foreigners for whatever reason what do you think that will happen to SA in Nigeria and some other Africans countries? This is not the case of Nigerians or other Africans taking their jobs and women, this is pure jealousy, why did they not apply for those jobs themselves? Or stop raping their women and treat them with some respect? |
Travel › Re: Xenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by justwise(mod): 2:23pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
esere826: That highlighted phrase was meant to refer to the entire SA (plus any other country were one is more likely to be killed than in the person's current location).
like I said, that particular answer is me being simple and emotive, ......but different from my second suggestion which I think is more realistic. So the only solution you see here is that Nigerians and other Africans should avoid SA ? |
Travel › Re: Xenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by justwise(mod): 2:22pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
sunnshyn: SA isn't europe, if Nigerians or other Africans must come to SA, you must come with a purpose! E.g to School, join your family and maybe work in his shop as in the case of Ethiopians, indians and Pakistanis, meet your husband or wife as the case maybe.
SA isn't a ground for hustling, things are tough. Go to Europe or wherever! I agree with you but my question is this....should they be killed because they went to SA to hustle? |

@osystein Please stop reporting posts and asking me to remove them because according to you the story or images are fake. I have seen some of those images on my facebook pages posted by my SA and Zimbabwean friends, i have seen news clips about the barbaric killings. It has been reported by BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-32332744, stop denying the obvious. |
Travel › Re: Xenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by justwise(mod): 2:04pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
esere826: My straight forward and emotive answer would be yes, they should avoid going to places were there is a greater probability that they could be killed
However, I understand that life doesn't work that way, especially when one is also faced with constant life threatening dangers plus economic challenges in the place where one comes from.
So my diplomatic answer would be that those who which to travel to SA should try to gather as much information as possible (positive and negative info) and then use such information to try navigating through the labyrinth that is presently SA. That is not my question, i wasn't talking about some areas in SA but SA as a whole, do you want Nigerians and other Africans to stop going to SA? |
Travel › Re: Xenophobia: View Of A Nigerian Living In SA by justwise(mod): 12:02pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
esere826: Of course not The OP is simply stating what he feels is the obvious
Its like the US embassy informing its citizens to avoid some states in Nigeria because of terrorism it doesn't mean that the US is condoning terrorism if its citizen decides to go to such states and is consequently kidnapped
Another example is this: -lets say girls that dress a certain way in the night and are in certain spots are typically w.hores -the cops wrongly round them up once in a while and collect bribe from them or forcefully assault them. -a descent girl happens to have dressed in a certain way and was at the same spot in the night doing something honest -the cops came in and descended on her.
The advice here is two pronged 1) Cops should not harass folks 2) Please ladies try to avoid this spot at night, and even if you do, please try to dress differently.
I see nothing wrong with such well intentioned advice So basically Nigerians and other Africans should not go to SA else they will be killed? |

madejibo: Sir, to be honest SA society does not permit foreigners to "hustle". A lot of south africans are unskilled and therefor look for the hustling jobs. I don't think it is fair for a Nigerian or any other Nationality to go to sa and compete with their citizen. BTW the law in SA does not permit a foreigner to remain in SA if you don't have some skills which they call scarce skill or exceptional skills, so if you are living there without such skills you are either an asylum seeker or illegal. Another set of people allowed to live in SA are business owners an by law your business must worth R5m. They have laws, we must respect their laws So they should be attacked and killed? |

kokorasta: Sorry Justwise, I forgot to ask. So sorry.
(please pardon my questions).
My balance is about 800k.
I intend spending 150k on flight, 150k on hotel for 10 days and 150k on upkeep.
I hope this amount isn't too small? Considering that by the time of travelling i will be paid another monthly income of about 112k added to the 800k balance. What is your salary range? |

You don't know how much she invested in the relationship.
You don't know the plans she made.
Some people cannot handle betrayal.
God will surely handle the guy ie if he is not karma's punishment for her for all the other guys she used and dumped. ...how much do you think the man invested in the relationship? Its not one way traffic. We don't know why the relationship ended. |

kazan: Hello House,
I've been following this thread for a while. I did not need to ask any questions before i made my visa application because practically all necessary questions had already been asked by various people which had already been answered.
I just want to give a brief timeline to guide anyone else who might be waiting for their visa to get processed.
Jan 28th - submitted online application at UK Visa Website
Jan 30th - Submitted Biometrics with Application form and passport at Teleperformance in Lekki
Feb 4th - Sent Supporting Documents to Sheffield Via FedEx
Feb 11th - Supporting Documents arrived in Sheffield
March 24th - Spouse called by the home office to attend Sponsor interview
April 1st - Spouse attended Sponsor interview
April 7th - Received Email From Sheffield That decision had been taken on Application
April 15th - Passport Picked up from Teleperformance in Lekki with Spouse Visa Dated 1st of April.
Thanks to everyone on this thread who has answered questions in the past. Congratulations and thank you for coming back to give a very important update. |

Holatunde007: Pls fellow nairalander I just get in touch wt an old frnd of mine that has been in Uk over 3yrs ago, she said if I can process my visa that she will offer me accommodation and get me a Job and she said a Job opportunity will be open for her around May, that I should make it as quick as possible. Now what am confused about is where do I start from? I hav a valid Nigeria passport where do I go from there? Can sm1 analyze the steps to take to get a Visa before May, I don't want to fall into the hands of 419. And I need the total cost of all from the visa processing to Ticket. Thanks for ur advice in advance. Your friend is deceiving you, the chances of you getting any visa that will allow you to work in the UK is very slim if not impossible. |

kokorasta: Hello Justwise. I have a couple of questions pertaining to Uk Visa.
1. I am applying for Uk visa on the 27th of April and I stated in my form that i will like to travel on the 25th of may. My question is, is that enough time given? I have a letter of introduction from work that states that my 10 days working leave starts from that day, 25th of May. i stated that my tourist vacation will be for 10 days in UK if granted a visa.
2. I had a sum of 300K I deposited into my account in December and was withdrawn a week after. Now this money was for wedding AsO-Ebi for my brother's wedding. Do i need to explain the source? since it barely even sat there for long? If I need to, will a simple invoice for the Aso-Ebi purchase be enough?
3. Also, I am one of the 1000 African Entreprenuers whose business idea was selected by The Tony Elumelu foundation, I am currently undergoing the online training and slated to attend a two days boot-camp in June at which we would be given 5000 dollars grant each. should I add this as I am assuming it indicates a strong-tie to my home country? If yes, will the email I received be enough proof for this? That is the only proof i can provide. emails from the TEEP foundation.
4. Lastly, I have several miscellaneous deposits from family (mostly my mum) and sometimes friends, not huge sums. 20k. 25k, 50k...Do i need to explain all of these deposits? 1. yes the time allocation is ok 2. That will not affect your application because the money has been taken out already. 3. The email and explanation will do. 4. Yes you need explain that. |

royal1989: please i need your advise on this following issue
i will be submitting my visa application documents @VFS Lagos next week for a year apprenticeship which will start on 30 of this month. please can i be refuse visa due to the time factor between the processing time and the start of the program.
also i have 300,000 naira in my saving account with a guarantor's documents to support my lodging and feeding with a monthly stipend throughout the program, what is chance of getting a UK visa.
also i have my certificate with different year of birth to the one on my passport, can this have a negative effect on my application. Your submission date and time may harm your application, basically you are giving them 2weeks to process your application. Who is your sponsor? Which city in the UK ? And how much is in your sponsor's account? |
