bebe2: tnk bro

is it only only uni dat she can go? how about colleges?

am saying dat becos of fees, they seem very expensive.

i went t0 manchester metroplitan and it was free for me grin

wud they accept just NECO results, dats all she has got.

as for ''gobe'' shocked shocked she will learn, wen i left home i was almost as bad but i now have a degree and my computer skills?? not bad cool.
She can go to college, it doesn't have to be uni but with college her right to work is zero or limited to 10hrs a week. Private colleges are most affected, public funded colleges are ok.

NECO will be accepted.

emmysenior: They died of ignorance and stark illiteracy.

Money does not grow on trees in europe.

You just can't see a house and go inside to sleep.
Being an illegal immigrant, one have to keep hiding and be on the run always.

They will end up doing what would not even think of doing for survival here in Nigeria.

They forget that most people in diaspora don't always get as much sleep as most people at home do, they end up working in two or three places, just to be up and doing.

Apart from good roads, steady power supply, security, pipe borne water, fast internet services and cooking gas of which you still have pay bills for, there's not much better things.

In coming winter season, will cause much health problems to those who does not have heater in their homes.

Most of them will end up in refugee camps and may even die of malnutrition or harsh treatment.

Most of them will end up been repatriated back home in a shameful way.

Such a huge shame that their loved ones might not be able to see their dead bodies before they re given mass burial.
How much does your sleep worth?

Do you get all that free in Nigeria? Why don't you want to pay for what you use?
Wait that I receive the official MDGs report for Nigeria and I would show you that Switzerland is doing way better!!! By the way, this does not prove anything regarding Swiss citizens but all the people who live in Switzerland. And we have a lot of foreigners in our country (and not only high educated ones, e.g Nigerian drug dealers are plenty in main railway stations)
Can you argue without insulting Nigerians? I edited your previous post containing similar comment, don't email me asking for some posts to be hidden because you don't like the content.

funkybaby: I still wont doubt her story.

he had a family emergency to attend to. he explained his situation to them at BHC (after all, they are human beings like you and I and not tin gods), he had all the required docs, he paid the fee and he was given the visa. how is that a big deal?
Its a big deal because there are hundreds of Nigerians with similar story, armed with all the requirements, ready to pay express service and still will not get a visa

funkybaby: @ justwise

i wont doubt her story. as at 2007, if i remember correctly, the whole VFS system was yet to kick off. applications were lodged directly at the high commission.there was nothing like biometrics too.

i think people had to call certain phone numbers to book appointments in advance.

corporate organisations, etc usually got priority slots. so i am assumming there would have been emergency slots for visa applicants as at then.

so if babyscots's hubby walked into the BHC to request an emergency visa interview and he had all the right docs, they would have issued him the visa.

however, things are much different now. every application has to go through VFS.
For a corporate body, yes i can see that happening but for ordinary Nigerian...i still see it as too good to be true.

@babyscot

I have problem believing that he walked into British high commission without appointment or pre-visa application and was interviewed and issued a visa, that sound too good to be true. If that was the case then why not do it again this time around?

adehiabhi: Hi all, I need factual opinion from anyone, just wise, babyscot, girlie, and any others. My 5 years old daughter's father applied for visiting visa for her, it was refused, appealed and determination allowed and its been over the space of a year. Last week, I got an email message to send the passport to the BHC in lagos for visa which I have done. I am waiting to hear from them as its been over a week now I dropped it off. Pls do u know how long it takes to get the visa stamped? The visa is for my daughter aged 5years applied for by her father in Uk. Can I send my sister to pick it up for me as I might be unable to make it again to lagos for pick up with an authorisation letter. Or what r d requirements for pick up for minor in this circumstances? Thanks
That will do.
