joxiri: If a person is born in the uk then technically they are a British citizen but however if their parents are illegal at the Time of birth then the person can be deported unless he or she lives in the uk for up to 10 yrs
joxiri

the person would not be a british citizen under the law.

in that case, they retain their parents' nationality until they officially take on british citizenship.

and yes, the thread title is misleading.
The person is not British, this post ^^ pretty much summarized what i wanted to say.

@Bandit & Junipero C

Writing in German will not help the flow of discussion here, you will isolate people who wants to join or ask questions.

nickson03: Pls can u advice me, my wife uk visa was refuse on two occassion the reason for refusing the last application the ECO stated on the letter of refusal that british embasy was unable to verify the letter from delta state university where she current study, therefore basic on the balance of probibility the ECO said she/he is not satify on her current circustance in nigeria. The reason why they have not be able to verfy this is because of the ASUU strike. However, my lawyer has taking the embassy to court basic on human right actle 8 which state the right to famil ly life and on the basic that my wife has a british husband and british son in uk she need to maintain contact with till she finished her study and apply for settlement visa. I have got The following document from nigeria newspaper that talk about the ASUU strike and newspaper that also talk about delta state university about the strike. I will be prsenting this newspaper as an evidence in court and other document printed from the internet as evidence. I have also inform my MP(member of palarment ) about the refuse the MP had also written to inform the home office(UKBA) the reason why they were unable to verify the letter was due to the strike in nigeria about this . Pls advice if i stand a chance of wining in court.
Are you appealing the refusal in tribunal hearing in the UK or taking the BHC to court in Nigeria?

APFM: Nice,I applied for UK visa with my wife with almost 800k in it and also without payslip but my salary wasn't fixed,I was given with my wife and I applied after 6mnths with just 180k as balance including my son,we were given multiple visa entry.

Your balance doesn't determine ur visa bt ur authenticity of ur travelling.

yams79: Hi
Am new to this site and have a question to ask..

I came back from UK 22nd November 2012, put in an application for a spouse visa on 23rd November 2012 which was refused February 2013..

Points for refusal were:

1. That I did not provide evidence of contact with my fiance since I returned to gambia. Mind you this is less than 24hours.

2. That he/she is not satisfied that our relationship is subsisting since 2010. The first part the Eco got wrong in this paragraph is the year because on the initial application we put there 2009 not 2010. So he is not satisfy that the relationship is genuine.

3. That we state we were gonna get married but provide no evidence of venue so he/she
is not satisfy that am seeking entry to enable my marriage to take place. Note that we cannot make any bookings because I wasn't sure if the visa will be granted.

I put in an appeal in March 2013 with all the documents raise in the refusal letter and the deadline for it was 21st of August 2013. Reaching that deadline we had nothing from the embassy. We got a hearing date for January 8th 2014 which my partner will attend in UK.. Our solicitor told us that the tribunal requested him to send them a bundle which he said he is not going to..

My question is..

Does appeals take this long almost 8
Months without even reviewed by the embassy and on top of that they didn't even send a bundle to the tribunal.

2. What chance do I stand for getting my visa..
Why is your solicitor refusing to send the bundle to the tribunal?

Yes appeal can take that long, some times even longer but things can change for good before the case is heard as you can see here

I don't think there is an alternative means of getting it. Considering your situation in Nigeria at the moment i don't see the alternative way.

olaola76: Please i need an advice here, am a Nigerian living and working legally in France since 2004. Actually i went to the UK in 2001 on a student visa. I was caught by the police for working more 20 hours but in the night of the i was arrested I agreed to go back home without getting a lawyer, so i was consequently deported the second day of my arrestation, this happened in 2002. However i got a visa to France in 2004, i got my 10years residencial permit in 2005. In 2007 i applied for a Uk visa from Paris but i was rejected because i failed to mention that i had been to the uk before.
I am preparing to submit another application this month (november 2013) because it's been 11years since i was deported but i am worried about the incident of the visa application i made in 2007 where i didn't mention that i had lived in the uk before.
Since the new law about deception came to force in 2008 i don't know if it will affect me because they didn't state in the refusal notice that I'll serve a ban. I have a very strong application now coz am very ok in France but i only wish to go to the Uk for a weekend (as stated in my new application and i also stated the deportation and reason for being refused a visa 2007 there).
Pease i need advice cos i don't wanna waste my money as i already have appointment for submission.
Thanks in advance
Deportation does not carry 10yrs ban, what carries 10yrs ban is lying or misrepresentation in your application, its fair to say that your ban actually started in 2007, but since the 10yrs ban started in 2008 its a bit complicated to ascertain what will happen if you applied now but you can only know by applying and tell nothing but the whole truth about your previous immigration history.

mikemillz: Hello House,
Please dont be angry as i ask this question for this is the first time i am doing this. I just got an admission into a college in Tulsa Okla, US and my visa appointment is scheduled for Jan 2 2014. My questions are....

* What are the vital documents i need to go with, is it photocopies or original copies
* What kind of questions will they ask me and how many mins or hrs does the interview last

I know my reasons of asking this questions cox i need to make amendments to some valid documents of mine if they need the original copies.

Your chances of getting a visa is pretty remote as you got no strong tie to Nigeria.
