Morayo747: The guy oversabi too much. He doesn't live here or is extremely anti-social for him not to know this thing he’s arguing is impossible is something people do everyday!!
You don't need to get worked-out about this, sweating over this will not change the fact, you can pretend as much as you want, the truth will hit you when the time comes.

Where i live is not the issue here and even if i told you it will not change jack.

akin707: Am kind of disappointed at the way just wise call people criminals just becos they try to live their life just as you(just wise) or anyone for that matter want a better life.
Pls desist from calling people criminals
I did not call people a criminal, i said when you overstayed your visa by law you have committed a crime and by definition that makes you a criminal. That does not mean that i'm calling people criminals, i'm basically stating the fact.

Morayo747: Ok criminals get to stay because they have a family life and law abiding people do not because they are here illegally? Do you live in the UK? I seriously now doubt it because a lot lot of people have exploited this law that are overstayers and visitors! How comes you don't know anyone or you simply just thrive on baseless arguments?
Overstaying is a crime and that makes you a criminal, you can't an illegal immigrant and call yourself a law abiding individual, if you are law abiding then you should have abide by the immigration law.

I don't go about naming names that nobody can check. How will you know if i'm telling the truth if i drop names here?

Morayo747: Ok Mr Google(the name for ppl who seem to know everything) so how does the human rights law apply? So every illegal immigrant/Overstayer now has to go back to their countries to get visas right? So all these people that get married here eventually go back home to get their visas? Please be sure of what you are saying. The government has not right to separate you from your beloved one i.e Wife/husband/child and even in some ridiculous instances PETS!!

What exactly do you think right to family life means?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/8570639/102-foreign-criminals-and-illegal-immigrants-we-cant-deport.html

And these are even criminals o.
Like i said before, is either you have problem reading and understanding OR you deliberately refused to.

We are not talking about criminals here who used the Human Right law to stay in the UK, the article you quickly Googled up get nothing to do with marrying to stay in the UK as an illegally immigrant.

Just in case you are struggling to get it, when a foreigner breaks the law and jailed for more then 6months the Judge sometimes recommend that the person is deported after serving prison sentence (depend on how serious your offense is) Whether you are illegal or not.

Those criminals who fought and won their cases might have being living legally, established family life here before they committed the offense, in that case the EU human right law covers them.

Don't jungle all sorts of issues together because they are not related.

Morayo747: I'm not misleading anyone. This is a fact. Ok let me ask you so what's the implication of the rule change? Someone just came on here and said he's just done this so what are you on about? Why do you think you know EVERYTHING?
Rule change doesn't mean nothing, before the rule was changed the UKBA requires that any foreigner who wants to marry a British citizen or EU have to apply to HomeOffice for certificate clearance, the EU ruled against that as it breaches the human right of an EU citizen. Since then, whoever wants to get married do not need to apply to HomeOffice for certificate of marriage, however, that does not mean that you will get a stay after marriage IF you are living illegally in the UK before marriage. Get that
Travel › Re: Help! My Sister And Her Husband Want To Remain As Illegal Immigrants In Uk by justwise(mod): 12:26pm On Apr 17, 2013
Morayo747: Wrong!! Why do you think all overstayers initially only used to marry EU citzens before the law was changed then? I'm guessing you live in the UK right? The stumbling block before has been removed!!
You are misleading people but you can go ahead to believe those lies. You don't get jack with marriage certificate when you are illegal in the UK or holding visiting visa. Your chances are brighter if you get married to that person in your home country and not in the UK.
Travel › Re: Help! My Sister And Her Husband Want To Remain As Illegal Immigrants In Uk by justwise(mod): 12:10pm On Apr 17, 2013
Morayo747: Thank you o my brother. This is what I've been saying since o. EU has mandated that anyone can get married irrespective of their immigration status due to human rights laws. I just hate it when people make uninformed arguments. Ordinary say you get pikin wey you get regular contact with sef you can't get deported anymore regardless of whether you are with the mother or not!!
Is either you have problem reading or you deliberately refused to understand it.

Yes anybody can get married to British or EU citizen because the EU law but marriage certificate will not get you a stay if you are living illegally before getting married. Your status before you get married will be called-out when you apply for spouse visa from the UK.

Raymondeji: According to what i heard this night, the American Embassy have said that everyone that wants to give birth in the states should have a minimum of $140,000 in their account balance.

I think this is an indirect attempt to make a mockery of us, our leadership system, and our health sector. They enter our country the way they please, we (not me though) treat them like kings, and they see us as shit. I think it makes it obvious the way they see us, thats how bad it is.

Why must we even travel to give birth in the first place? Would you go that far just for delivery in the states?
Stop moaning, they don't want to be used again, blame people who travel to US to give birth, get the citizenship for their baby and run away with their baby without paying for the delivery.

Without a strong and a proven personal source of income i doubt he will be given a visa. He can't use his daddy's account to apply for visiting visa as an adult.

He also need to explain in his application form why he did not finish his study in the UK, he can not withhold that info in his visa application form

If you have any sense of decency then read up here https://www.nairaland.com/927190/dv-2013-winners-meet-here , people there are also Christians but they concentrate on the most important thing and that thread is running into 700 pages.

At the beginning this thread was flowing and ideas shared but suddenly some fanatics invaded the thread and decided to derail it. all pleas did not work but i'm not going to allow some minority here to derail this thread again

Allohrandy: lol @justwise for hiding those religious fanatics posts.. lets stop all this religious stuff here.. you dont have to believe in God or Allah to win the lottery.. many nonbelievers who dont believe in God has won the lottery before; winning the lottery is just by luck, its not by posting prayers or fasting on nairaland.. you guys should know that the chances of winning the lottery in Nigeria is 1/3000 so its very slim.. so lets just hope for the best because more than 99.9 percent of us will not win the lottery...
I have said this over and over again but some people who claimed to be born-again have refused to stick to simple rule.

There are people of all sort of believes here, its unfair to turn this thread to Christian prayer room. Whoever want to express his or her religious feelings should do that in religious section.

There is no fight here, people are turning this thread into Sunday school class, there is nothing wrong with saying word of prayer or motivation but doing it every time one posts is derailing, people completely forgot what this thread is all about.

This thread is started so that people will ask questions about DV LOTTERY 2014 simple!

There is religious section for people to start a thread for prayer points.

@nightmare king

I also intend moving to Austria for study. I am in Nigeria at the moment, I already have submitted my application at the Austrian embassy, and I went through all procedures including lawyer's.. The Austrian embassy forwarded my application already to the Austrian ministry in Austria and I don't know how long this takes.. Please, can you kindly tell me exactly how long it took you to get contacted from the Austrian ministry in Austria? Please share with me about how long your application took at the Austrian ministry before you got a reply from them??
I will appreciate your reply. My school in Austria will be resuming soon and I haven't heard anything yet from the Austrian ministry..

And, when you were contacted that your visa or residence permit was granted, were you asked to pay your health insurance before travel?? I need information, thanks

Source of income does not matter when it comes to students visa but if she is using her mum's bank account then she need to add her birth certificate.

What is the list of documents she submitted?
