Dapto: Oga Justwise,I dint know a similar thread was on.But,this one is a bit different eventhough very similar.Just to get d feel of people experiences STRICTLY within the FEW DAYS of arriving.
We have far too many such thread about UK student, there are 2 already about Nigerian student going to the UK or studying in the UK, more than we have for US and Canada. Lets just keep one so as to considerate the info.

eelvismd: Majority are not and that is while many will leave a paying job in Nigeria and take the millions they have saved for years in the name of schooling abroad only to be disappointed upon arrival...Things are changing fast and the sooner we Nigerians recognized it the better for us all because the third world war that is imminent may not be in the form of weapons and ammunition
Is this thread about studying abroad?

Pain: I understand your fears. No one likes anything that challenges their fixated view of the world. No one likes anything that sheds light on their innate fear of the future, especially in a country that offers little or no hope. May God Grant U All US Visas. I wish U all a Blissful Life Ahead. Okay?
You just failed miserably to defend your random comment, aren't you being a hypocrite by trying to condemn people for exactly the same thing you have done?

solomon111: I know you will always grab any opportunity to defend your 21st century slavery.
Do you have anything sensible to say about this topic?

Pain: Did my comment suggest or imply any condemnation of the US? I only expressed my amazement at the level of desperation & reverence for US Visas. The fact remains that US Visas will never be the ultimate passport to eternal bliss. A wrong attitude is a ticket to failure regardless of where you reside. The right attitude and tenacity of purpose will open doors for you in any clime. I still pray that we all free ourselves from mental slavery. Opportunities exist everywhere. If you are observant you will notice that a lot of our white brothers are moving to Africa & South East Asia in search on the massive opportunities in these economies. Growth has really peaked in the US & EU for most sectors. Africa is one of the few markets with inherent opportunities for growth!
You are being too faced here, why did you not study in Nigeria? You paid millions of naira just to get US visa and study there, by the way...how did you manged badly not to understand the purpose of this thread?
Travel › Re: Warning For Pregnant Women Travelling Abroad by justwise(mod): 9:42am On Sep 18, 2012
Pain: I'm just baffled by the way US/UK visas are reverred and worshipped by Africans. This poster makes it look as if a denial of these visa is a denial to a happy life. As if the visas are a ticket to eternal life. God free us from mental slavery. Amen.

This is coming from the same person who studied and married in US?

yasuleiman: @justwise & other u.k travel experts. Well done on the wonderful job you are doing. Please assist,
My family(i.ewife, child&I)applied 4 visa as a general visitor twice&refused.

The documents i submitted are;
*C.A.C-certificate of biz name(newly registered)
*my savings&current acct
*my wifes' saving acct
*used cash sale invoice(i deal in generators,spare-parts e.t.c)
*wedding certificate
*several pictures 4rm wedding
*my childs' birthday certificate
*hotel reservation
*flight booking

The reasons for the 1st refusal;
*earn ₦210,843.16/mth as a self employed
*the documents i submitted relating 2 d business circumstances did not indicate my earnings
*that i have failed 2 submit unambiguous evidence of my income such as my income tax clearance certificate
*though they acknowledge that they have seen my personal bank statements indicating enough funds available,but without satisfactory evidence 2 d origin of these funds.
After d first refusal,i contacted my lawyer. He had 2 address d complaints.So, on d 2nd application, we included;
*copy of letter showing my tax exemption til 2015 (In Oyo state, its not mandatory for a newly registered company to pay income tax until after 3yrs of commencement of biz)
*the copy of wil of my late father(cos i stated in the form that i also generate earnings from other source i.e late fathers' property)

To my surprise, it was refused the 2nd time. The reasons are;
*the amount i earn as a self employed businessman is the precise monthly income, but submitted no evidence of this
*my bank statements does not reflect deposits commensurate with my declared income
*no evidence of income from property

After the 2nd refusal, my lawyer advised we apply 4 administrative review. On the 18th june, 2012, we applied and sent it through registered mail 4rm Nigerian Post office to BHC office in Abuja. Til now, i have not gotten an acknowledgement or reply from BHC office.

What assurance do i have that they have gotten my mail. Do i need to send an e.mail or try to call them to confirm our status. Maybe i should just sit down and pray
You can email them to know if they have received your review paper, but reviews or appeal takes time.

Charlesbro: My school latest start date on my CAS letter 24th Sept and my visa application is still at the British High Commission (I applied in time and it’s been with them for about 19 days now)

If i knew i would have applied months earlier but honestly guys arranging tuition and maintenance fees wasn't easy...i had no choice but to wait till all the funds were complete.

Has any one in the house had any similar experience with this kind of delay? Or knows anyone who’s gone through this?
What do you guy’s (Justwise, Charles E. and others) advice me to do?

what do you think is the reason for the delay?

I have been calling them, the numbers are always engaged.. should i email them? if yes, what do you guys suggest i should mail them?
Email them though i got a feeling that you will hear from them this week.

mmpc: Im not sure about this but ive heared that when you go home to your country they will check your record if you have debt like loan, etc.. and ive also heared that they will detain you for that and be imprisoned.. im not sure if it's true or not, my friend who also overstayed here in uk wants to go home with her own expense but scared that they might able to find out she have a debt... your replies is much appreciated!! i want to know as well at least i will be aware.. i really love this forum because it's very informative!!!
Obviously if you failed to repay loan taken from the bank or loan companies and they have reported you to the police and your details entered into the system then you will be detained if you are trying to leave the UK.

Has it occur to you that more Muslims are killed by suicide bombers than Christians? In the north alone you have killed yourselves more than Christians, the same case in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Somalia and other Muslim dominated countries.

Travel › Re: Arrested In USA No Conviction Should I Tick Yes Or No ? by justwise(mod): 8:37am On Sep 16, 2012
@Excellentman

Let me make this comment and will not reply on this topic again....

Your case is not a serious one but you can make it one by ticking No, just like Vicjustice has clearly explained to you....have you been arrested by US police? Yes then explain why you were arrested.

The US embassy will not automatically refused you a visa because you ticked yes, because you did not commit any offence, you were arrested and released without charge.

They will only refuse you a visa if you were charged for the crime.

Its silly to say No when you were arrested and your fingerprint taken.

Good luck.
