This comment needs no reply. Your stupidity speaks for itself. It is obvious that you are one of the many paid online hands that politicians employ to deploy the usual divide and conquer. Since you have no brain to see via my previous comments that I am Yoruba, I will not be drawn into such silly debates. For people such as yourself, anyone who does not serve your master must be Igbo right. 7lives: |
I honestly don't know where Tinubu wants to get the votes from. Shehu Sani is right on all counts, Tinubu is not a beloved figure in the North and after his utterances plus body language (all in a bid to become president) I doubt he has that many fans in the South west. I wonder if he understands these things and still chooses to stubbornly assert himself all the while spending his corrupt wealth. I know Nigerians will happily take from him and disappoint him at the poll booth. His best bet would be to back a candidate of his choosing that he is certain will win. A man of Tinubu's background and history was always meant to be godfather, behind the scenes type of figure NOT the main person in-charge. If the North could do what they did to Abiola who was quite popular there, then I do not think they'll lose any sleep over betraying Tinubu. And I won't shed a tear either. I never liked Abiola's politics and I sure as hell do not like Tinubu's either. Both men never had the interests of the Yorubas at heart and were fine with bending over backwards and doing backflips if that meant them securing power. Such people are dangerous and ought to be called out. South west politicians should come to terms with the fact that no matter how individually brilliant and gifted they may be (assuming if at all they are) they may never seat at the head of the table. They (SW politicians) had better start supporting splitting this country, because that is the only sensible route out of the mess we find ourselves in. |
You recently said there’s no more Fulani in Benue State? Yes! I can confirm to you that there’s no Fulani in Benue since the enactment of anti-open grazing law. Fulani people have left Benue to another location. All the Fulani that are being arrested in Benue State are passersby or the ones from border communities in Nasarawa and Taraba states or other states. This is what Southern Governors need to enact. All of the talking from both sides of their mouth needs to stop. Sign a bill into law that bans open grazing and seek to enforce it. Anything less, in light of all that has happened is a travesty and will spell further doom. |
No need to make this about PDP, both parties are corrupt. When Fashola was Governor, the company BudgetIT via their twitter handle took it upon themselves to expose the corruption with road projects executed under his administration. The evidence was overwhelming, feel free to look through their twitter handle. What marvels me is that under the road was built for 188M for 8.2km, that is 22M per km. Compare this to some of the ridiculous prices being quoted for road projects across Nigeria with some going as high as 1bn Naira per km then you begin to get a clearer picture that we are finished in this country. We are finished as a people, and I do not see any respite in sight. It is one thing to even use projects to steal funds, how about we simply then execute the project to standard and finish it, is that too much to ask ?Our budget as is is more than enough to lift us out of decadence and poverty in as little as 20 years if implemented to the letter. But it is unfortunate that all we have are a bunch of heartless, demon controlled men in positions of leadership who have zero business being at the helm. PHAYOL81: |
Well, I'd say a life well spent and clearly much better than yours wasting away your meaningless existence defending Tinubu. Modphase: |
These things tend to happen when you are off your meds and do not have the luxury of speaking through a Special Assistant on Media. |
I want to laugh my head off, I really want to. We all know that when it comes to Nigerian passports, you only get Express if you pay Express Fees to the dishonorable members of staff of the Nigerian Immigration Service. Anything less, and you have to wait like forever. This is an Express Centre in name only nothing more. |
She has some validity to her views and I feel it is especially relevant to us as Nigerians and Africans by extension, who are often moved by emotion rather than be brutally honest with ourselves. The world is designed in such a way that, it does not matter if you are a good person, what matters first to anyone is what value you bring, your competence, what you can deliver, only then will people respect you and whether they like you afterward is only secondary. Ofcourse this does not apply in all cases, such as if you are dealing with a racist or a tribalist but no doubt in an environment that values and rewards merit, what she said is absolutely true. On the surface what she is saying will never resonate with the shallow minded, but in reality if you have been through life enough, you will understand what she is saying. |
No worry, whatever she said, judging by your response I am certain it was not meant for you. Anigreat: |
It is like saying water is wet because it has a wet feel to it whenever you put it in your mouth or on your skin. Everyone knows the obvious that this man is stating. |
@Northern Elders. Not really. Even if you spoke truth to power but lacked the ability to defend yourselves, the end result would still be same. By defend I do not mean guns only. Education is a means of defence as well as an empowerment tool. The North despite receiving the bulk of foreign aid still remains uncompetitive, there are deeper issues that need to be looked at critically. |
The funny thing is Tinubu will not implement his own suggestions if he ever becomes President. If you want to know what becomes of him as President, just look critically at how Lagos has been run in the last 22 years then you have your answer. AFONJAPIG: |
Let's get one thing clear please, Tinubu does not have a corruption perception problem, Tinubu is corruption personified, corruption on two legs, corruption living and breathing. And Lagos is clear, incontrovertible evidence of this fact. Stop trying to launder his image, if you are being paid to do so, you are doing a poor job of it. You can sell him on other fronts but not on this one. seunmsg: |
Sorry bro, I cannot do that. I would never want for that. ogwumgbe: |
He is a fu_c_king joke. A walking cartoon. Charmingrascal: |
To my people, the Yoruba, what he is trying to say is that you may continue to suffer at the hands of Fulani herdsmen (who are foot soldiers of the conservative Fulani as they engage in expansionist attempts to dominate the entire Nigerian landscape) but it does not concern me because I will be President even if it means the total annihilation of the Yoruba people. It remains to be seen how Yorubas will respond come 2023, - to vote for this clearly soulless ghoul who will stop at nothing in his quest for power, - vote for someone else to spite this Fulani slave or - to abstain as a clear protest to the unjust events that have transpired and have affected the Yorubas. I guess time will tell and I hope my people will repay this evil man back in kind. I hope, I hope, I hope. |
Den don finish with oil, now den wan start the choppings of gas. |
He truly hunts for talents and leaders and puts in them positions of authority and power but never out of the magnanimity of his heart or for the benefit of his Yoruba tribe, Nigeria or for all mankind. You people will never truly understand this man until you read "the 48 laws of power" by Robert Greene and ''the prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli. Mr Tinubu is the walking, living embodiment of the ideas espoused in these two books. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been consistent to one thing and one thing alone, his quest for power. Anything and Everything he does is for power. The money he has amassed is only an instrument to gain more power. The talents and leaders Mr Akeredolu describes are only useful tools for Mr Tinubu in his quest for unparalleled domination and self-aggrandisement. No more, no less. In a country such as Nigeria, he is hailed as a smooth operator and a tactful politician (virutally all Nigerian politicians are corrupt, so it is not limited to him), elsewhere he would be behind bars. Overall, one thing he can say to his own credit is he has successfully built a broadbase coalition in the SW(even though it does not benefit the masses on South west Nigeria one bit), something the Yorubas have always had a problem with. |
Either which way the Fulanis will win. Tinubu, hailed as a masterful tactician, is as myopic a leader as the average African leader. Mere looking at the man, it is obvious he is not in good health. A country this sick requires leaders that can really work, not just leaders who want to go to Aso Rock for going there only. Tinubu, if truly he is a masterful tactician, should be campaigning for one of his boys to be President. He does not look as though he may survive the next 10 years, but it is what it is. If he quacks whilst in office, his Vice President, a fulani will surely seize power and expect a full 2 terms. This is one of these reasons why I have never believed in Nigeria as an entity. Same old story, same old actors. |
If you care to study history, you will realise that ancient civilizations and tribes that have ceased to exist have been as a result of successively weak leadership. In the last 250 years, the Yoruba race has been existentially threatened by the Fulanis. Within this timeline, we have had our religion stripped from us and have had one of our major cities taken from under our very noses, all as a result of a group of feeble-minded men in leadership positions. The same scenario plays out till this very day. And back then, just like some common folk in Yoruba land thought we could never lose Ilorin to the Fulani, some common folk today believe we can never lose the Yoruba heartland to the Fulani. Well, there is a timeless saying that goes, the strong will always dominate the weak. With the present crop of leaders that the Yorubas have (both today and in recent history), I can assure you that if the Yorubas continue on this path we are on, it is not a question of IF but that of WHEN. If we do not alter the course of present events, we will lose all our cities and all our lands to the Fulani and it will be because of these same weak and selfish men in positions of leadership. |
Awon alaiyeluwa were e wo niyen. Awon alaiyeluwa oloriburuku gbogbo. Awon omo ale alaiyeluwa. Akeredolu should keep up the ante and you should keep it up as well on social media as you are most likely paid to do. Soon enough, i assure you and Akeredolu, everything will crystalize and there will be nothing hidden under the sun. Then we will know if you and your ilk speak for the Yoruba people or if Igboho and co do. Vaughanlanrewaj: |
Unfortunately, if we wait for the secession will have a consensus in Yorubaland, we will wait for another 5,000 years. This is why a people that will succeed in this life must have visionary leaders who are willing to do what is best for their people when most convenient, and most importantly, when least convenient. Visionary leaders who are strong-willed, courageous and determined not fair weather rudderless politicians who have no principles and core values and can never be trusted. |
Okay, but why did you quote me, you could have posted this separately. I have never been to the US embassy before hence I cannot answer your questions. omofolajomi: |
Hi guys, so I have a bit of a concern I'd like some clarification. The financial statement I used to obtain I-20 is different from that which I will be taking along to the embassy, but the name on the statement remains same and tallies with what is on the I-20. Is there any cause for concern? Must the financial statement I tendered to the school for the I-20 match that which I take to the embassy? In addition, do schools upload financial statements sent to them during processing of I-20 to be cross referenced by VO on interview day? Kindly help out, thank you! |
With the kind of atrocities they have committed, they can only be integrated with the inner walls of a prison cell. They are the worst kind of criminals you will find. They have no justifiable or reasonable cause for doing what they do. The Fulanis history pertaining to Nigeria is that of a bunch of land grabbing killers, thieves, rogues and marauders. Their activities are only a front to cause enough chaos in a bid to takeover Southern Nigeria. All of what they are doing is a ruse, a façade. We must not get carried away, we must continue to remain vigilant. Ademola47: |
Okay so first they were foreigners. Now they are just displaced. First they were not the ones doing the killings, they were being framed, now they are the bandits. And now the Government of the day wants all states within Nigeria with special emphasis on Southern States within Nigeria, to give land for ranching to displaced herders turned bandits. My people, do not get carried away with these tales by moonlight stories, it is a mere distraction the real objective stays the same. And it has always been and remains that of total domination of the entire Nigeria. Stay vigilant, Stay on your guard and be prepared to defend what is yours!!! |
You do not need a soothsayer to tell you what the priorities of this government is. They deploy the army in search of the eastern security network. Are the eastern security network the #1 threat to Nigeria's security architecture? Priorities, Priorities, Priorities. Government of the Fula, for the fula and by the fula. |

I believe the erratic but sometimes factual Mr Femi Fani-Kayode addresses this topic some years ago in a series of well written articles published in ThisDay newspaper. From verifiable evidence, it was politicians of igbo origin who introduced ethnic-motivated politics dating back to the 1940s. There are verifiable quotes to backup these statements, none are false because none have been debunked till date. What Mr Chidoka may be referring to is probably in relation to Azikiwe's loss at the hands of Awolowo in a bid to becoming Western Premier in the 1950s. He may have some facts even though some argue that Awolowo's stance of ethnic and regional independence dictated his politics as against Zik's pan-africanism and one Nigeria stance. However, if we argue that Awolowo introduced ethnic politics in the 1950s, what did Zik do upon his defeat at the hands of Awolowo and returning to the Eastern region? I believe he did exactly what he accused Awolowo of, deposing the then acting or deputy Eastern Premiere who was from Akwa Ibom and using his newspapers to fuel ethnic politics in the Eastern Region. Do I think Awolowo's politics in the 1950s were ethnically motivated? YES. Was he the only one who did it? NO His politics at this particular time was never about harming igbos, destroying igbos and so forth. I believe it was simply about who should govern the western region and I believe it should have been a Yoruba man. The fallout from the 1950s election was that Zik and his supporters then went on to accuse Awolowo of what Mr Chidoka now refers to whilst hiding the fact that Zik himself did same in the Eastern region. Now fast forward to the early 60s and Zik chose to not form a unity government with Awolowo's AG because he most probably felt wronged by the events of the 50s and I guess he believed he could manuevre the Hausa-Fulanis. Awolowo at this time saw them for what they were, but same Awolowo later joined forces with them (one of my many criticism of Awolowo). I still believe if these two were able to form a government nothing would have held back the entire Southern Nigeria and we could have been more than what we are today. It is also true that Awolowo's policies post-civil war led to Igbos suffering heavy economic losses, something I totally disagree with and heavily criticize him for till today. Awolowo was far from a saint and I have defended as well as called out his legacy on several occasions. This historical revisionist exercise by Mr Chidoka is quite unfortunate, as the saying goes, do not throw stones if you live in a glass house. |
The Afenifere leader asked Tinubu and others to retrace their steps and support the restructuring agenda of the Yoruba group. Aja to ba ma sonu ko le gbo fere olode (the dog that will go missing can never hear the winter's whistle to come back home). Tinubu is a man who is deadset on becoming President of this godforsaken country and he is hellbent on achieving his aim even if it means selling the entire Yoruba race. Well, I love Buhari for the fact that he is consistent, consistent in bigotry and he has exposed these useless South west leaders for the spineless hypocrites that they truly are. Expect these reactionary myopic Yoruba politicians to start calling for restructuring as soon as it is clear Power will remain in the North. |
But Governor Akeredolu was quick to warn that those promoting successionist ideas were on their own. “Ondo State remains part and parcel of the entity called Nigeria and no parcel of our land shall be ceded to any succession promoter under any guise”, he said. The honourable governor in all his God given wisdom does not want to cede any land to secession promoters but is willing to cede land for RUGA. All of this trying to please the Fulani only ends up one way and we have seen it before, I fail to understand why the present crop of Yoruba politicians are so myopic and choose not to learn from their history. Saddens me to the core but I know sink or swim is the situation that confronts the entirety of Yoruba people, and how we manoeuvre our way out of this mess we find ourselves is what will truly define us as a people. |
