Politics / Re: This Is Exactly What Happened At Lekki Toll Gate by Kelvinhunta: 9:11am On Oct 22, 2020
Yes you are likely to be right but still the government was wrong to have sent the army in the first place. That army presence and their shootings made people so emotional to believe people were shot. Army shouldn't have been there and that what escalated the situation. I believe Lagos state governor is the only governor with human heart though not giving him100%but 70% is not bad at all
yusufu16:

Dont mind Nigerians. Somehow because of emotions we failed to understand what actually happen. People just got injuries as a result of fear when the soldiers shot in the air. But because of the way the news was spread in the social media, everyone believed soldiers fired at peaceful unarmed protesters.

Well said Bro! You are on point however I disagree with u on where u said evidence should be provided for deaths at lekki you see the protesters there said the army killed and carried their corpse in the dark. Could be true or lie but neither of us are present there to confirm so there is no direct evidence then we go with the circumstantial evidence which ask you y the lights were turned off? Could it be that they turned off the lights so Army can shoot at protesters and carry their bodies in the dark without people recording it do our politicians won't be blamed? What really happened on djswitch live page? Do people really write down their names b4 doing protest? While protesting someone might see u people on the road and join, no one will have time to ask of their name or tribe. Is it red oil or blood that stained that Nigerian flag? Was anyone shot at all? If yes y would u think Army will shoot crowd and no one would die even when they did so with real bullets? Again am not supporting the violence but the government should be honest and apologise to the people before this goes out of hand. I sense military take over which won't be good for any of us
zabuur:
Please, evidence of those killed at Lekki. We all have believed that people died at lekki. Please, can anyone publish names, photos and possibly videos.
We Nigerians are good at recordings instead of supporting people in dying situations.
I'm not against protest but, since the govt has been saying no one died, can anyone prove the govt wrong.

As for Makinde, the only solution to any and every problem is to dash out money. Ibadan is fast decaying. Check Old Ife road, Akobo road, Apete road, Gbekuba Apata road, how dirty the city now looks.

Wether you're in support of the protest or not, a member of APC or PDP, Muslim or Christian, Northerner or Southerner, we are in it together.
Burn the Country, we will later meet at IDP's camp then we shall realize who the real fool is.

I wish the security agencies would be sensible for once and know that more shootings results to more violence /attacks from the protesters however, let's be careful

Not supporting violence at all but this shows how sentimental u people can be! Most of these were destroyed after provoking the protesters by shooting them. I was busy praising the government the other day for using wisdom not to attack the protesters as such will escalate the tension but little did u know that the government has another plans. How on earth do you expect to kill protesters and expect them not to retaliate? What is it about all these Lagos sef? "who told u that it's only in Lagos that properties are destroyed? Of course people died more in Lagos so that explains why more properties r destroyed in Lagos. Is that rocket science to understand ?

And u mean the protesters are there because of what is posted on Nairaland? Have u seen the protesters at all? Do u think they have time for Nairaland? U shoot at unarmed protesters and common sense don't tell you that their population will just triple as the day goes? As a 500naira government sponsored Nigerian what u should do to stop the protest and to justify the 500naira u collected is to come out and meet the protesters then tell them that u dont want any protest again, I believe they would listen to u and go home. Just do it today sha

What is this one talking. Go siddon Jor. Are u just coming in from Sudan or where. U just wake up to type rubbish here. Talk with facts and stop day dreaming. The governor admitted that forces above move in to attack the protesters. He is claiming innocence so the argument is can a military move in without the consent of the governor? Why didn't he raise alarm before the death occurred since he is claiming he is innocent
Kirigidi:
Don't blame the Lagos State Governor for now. Sanwo-Olu may not be aware of the evil plan to attack protestors just like what happened in Abia State. If you observe very well, virtually all the military commanders in the South are all Muslim northerners. In addition, virtually all the different armed forces are headed by Hausa/Fulani Muslims including the minister of defence, national security advisor, e.t.c. It's not just coincidence, there are reasons why Buhari deliberately did that; to suppress any southern or Christian uprising against his evil government. Remember Buhari is a known Islamist. The implication of this is that any crucial security meeting can hold without the involvement of Southerners or Christians, language of deliberation will be Hausa. Muslim commanders may view the ongoing protests as fight to remove their fellow Muslim from power, and may hold meetings to take action without the knowledge of any southern Governor or Christian. It is time for Southerners to wise up. Honestly!

They only care about where they make money and not about our lives or how to make life better for the citizens. He who kills by gun shall die by gun. You colluded with the army. They didn't come from space without your permission. In a sane place relatives of the slain should have given you thunderous slaps in the face in any of the hospital wards just to register their displeasure.

What is unfortunate about shootings and subsequent murder which you were privy to? Police stations were burned down by God knows who and soldiers didn't go there, but went to the toll gate. Of course! That's where money is made.

I baffles me how somepeople reasons! Mind u that the police here is SARS (IGP Team is as equivalent to SARS that's if u have seen them before) . Ordinary police can't do this, quote me anywhere! You are telling me that if u had any type of issue with ur brother that u will involve SARS? Possibly tell SARS that he is armed robber or kidnapper? Even if he is a kidnapper? Well, I get ur point. You are likely to be the woman's daughter that's Y u r defending that abomination she did.
