I would say I don't believe also but I've had practical experience with a close friend. This girl I soooooooooooo pretty and at 33 years, she aint married. Guys come her way quite alright but the relationships never last. I stayed over in her house one time like that only for me to be woken by her sobs in the bathroom. I went there and met her washing her wrapper which she'd used to cover herself while asleep. I asked why she was washing and crying and that was when she explained things to me. A man came to have sex with her in her dream n he eja, culated on her n wrapper that's why she was washing. I was shocked. She's a muslim o but she started visiting churches n imams alike n they all told her the same thing:spirit husband. She's still not married buh she's trying all means to break the 'marriage' up. I can go on n on but space no dey. |
@yellowpawpaw, I've learnt my lesson big time. To think I used to look at other women that don't breastfeed exclusively with 'bad eye' saying they weren't doing their babies good. Definitely taking all ur points into consideration. I've started with the Chilli method n I'm seeing results. The only challenge I'm having is getting him off b reast at night. He practically sleeps with it in his mouth. How do I resolve this? . |
NnekaGirl: Why don't you address that tribal bigot first? You take things too personal. Its not everything you reply to. Just ignore n move on, its a faceless forum. |
Luizkid: thats my greatest fear o, but i belive NYSC will do somtin about it lyk Making the students collect their Call-up letter 4rm the nearest NYSC office or somtin. I pray everytin is resolved b4 Nov.What about clearance and statement of result for those who haven't gotten theirs? NYSC has no control over that. I really pray they resolve things speedily. |
smartmom: My dear new mother, I feel your pain but for the sake of the next round, its always better to gradually introduce new foods from the 4th month not wait till they are 6 months. How long will you be away? when do you leave ie how soon?I'll be away for 4 days max, I'll be leaving on 26th of dis month. |
@ bellong, he sits with us when we eat n actually casts a longing look at the food but once u bring it close to his mouth, he turns his face away smiling. He'll keep on staring at the food making you feel guilty for not giving him. We sometimes put soup in his mouth for his taste buds to open up. I've learnt now o, no more strict exclusive for the next bby. @ chillisauce, loooooooooooool!!!!! You no go kill person with ur methods. I actually tried something similar to what u described here. I really love ur methods. Sure ur kids wil turn out to be good musicians based on their momc's skills. Lol |
thorpido: Try to feed your baby from a cup or small bowl rather than a bottle if you can.Me too I don't like the idea of feeding bottle but the challenge is getting him to open his mouth for the spoon. Donno who taught him but when he cried earlier n we shoved a spoonful in his mouth, he keeps his mouth shut when a spoon's approaching his mouth. He has no option, he'll just have to adjust while I'm gone. Yes can they give him glucose in case he refuses food? |
Chillisauce: First option,Very hilarious!!!!!! I was laughing so hard, I had to read it out to hubby who joined in also. Thanks a lot. I really do love ur suggestions, they seem tried n tested. Let me see how I can make musicians out of my hubby n MIL, twud be nice watching them display. |
Amen, tnx soooo much. Travelling with a nanny n d baby is out of it cos I'm traveling to the core north to gather info for a research, I stay down south. I've been stalling cos of him but I can't delay anymore. I guess I'll just have to pump b.reast milk and store but using a manual pump will be tedious as I don't have access to an electric pump. If I put d milk in the freezer n it thaws due to power outage, is it safe to allow it freeze again when power returns or its gone bad already? Sorry I'm disturbing u oo, na JJC I be. |
I'll be away for 3 or 4 days @babyosisi, tnks 4 ur advice but I'm doubting if that freezing stuff would work cos just like chaircover said, the ppwer supply is erratic. We do put on our gen but not all thru the nite or for a long while cos of where we stay, its not allowed by the Vigilante/landlord association (security concerns). @chaircover, God bless u for ur advice but u don't know my lil bros. Anything he sees coming towards his mouth sends him into a screaming mode. I'll look out for the tip-shaped teat like u said. If he accepts a bottle, I'll be so relieved. |
Lol! We plenty wey dey wait for tory oo. Thank God for his life ooo. It didn't easy!! |
If it wasn't for the fact that I'll be traveling soon, I don't mind him nursing till he's 4 years old sef. I'll really love him to start before I travel. My heart would be so broken wherever I am knowing he's not feeding well. Many thanks for the tips on oranges n multivitamins, I'll try that. Exclusive b.reast feeding is not so advisable after all, abi? |
Do u think this strike wud affect prospective corpers for batch C? Cos I don't think any staff wud be around to distribute the call up letters to them and assist with their clearance also. |
Yea I mix it with crayfish, milk, soya meal thingy too. He simply won't open his mouth when he sees food coming. |
I'm trying to wean my 6month old baby. I started early last month n have tried all sorts of food. I'm so worried because i have to travel later this month, the journey's gonna be very tedious so carrying him along is not an option. I've tried ogi, lactogen, nutrend, egg, sma, so many otthers but he simply won't eat. What do you advice pls? |
She left him at home today to test n c ow he'l react.he screamed the house down n dint take any food frm anyone till she returned to give him b,reastmilk. @rehil,u said u were surprised upon ur return. Does that mean he was already eatin when u came back |
My elder sis is trying to wean her 6month old baby. She started early last month n has tried all sorts of food. She's so worried because she has to travel later this month, the journey's gonna be very tedious so carrying him along is not an option. She's tried lactogen, nutrend, egg, sma, so many otthers but he simply won't eat. What do you advice pls? |
I pray he finds his way back home. I'm happy he's not a little person that wouldn't be able to communicate well or something. He's somewhere around just chilling, you'll see. God wil make ur phones ring with good news about him soon, amen. |

@meringe Frm ur words, I can feel d love u had 4 ur dad. He must av been really special. Hope ur not missin him too much. Its a debt we all owe. |
Meringe: His vision, words of wisdom, oratory and convincing power in favor our needs and any problem that comes our way. His sense of humor. His embarrassment when he expects you to learn and understand fast. His neat style of living. As a leader, I hardly lost touch with events around then but now I hardly know what's happening around me.Wow! He had some really admirable qualities. Hope u took after him o, lol. Rip AAA. |
For me, there are soooo many fond memories I have of my late father. I remember the way he used to cover me up at night after I must have kicked my blanket away as per troublesome sleeper. I used to feel a special kind of warmth whenever he did this for me so much so that I purposely pull away my blanket most of the time. Also, my dad was damn damn good in the kitchen. I can't ever forget the yam porridge he cooked for me once when I was ill nor his superbly fried eggs. I can go on and on and on. Share yours let's remember our special one(s). |

Richfella: No be small mata...@ all |
my heart really goes out to u. God will help u face this n emerge stronger. |
esperiense: Have u tried sensodyne toothpaste for d burning sensation? Pls do.Gum bleeding isna sign of infection, u need to verify if your oral hygiene measures are correct or not and then go for " scaling and polishing"ok thanks. |
Hey doc, pls go n look 4 My Joe ooooo! Tell him to come back ASAP. U guys were good together apart from the little e-war I noticed. Keep up the good work. Back to d matter @ hand. My own dental issues plenty oo. I even went to see a dentist last week, was told to go for an xray buh I was low on cash then. I'll go for it soonest. Most times when I drink water,it burns my teeth esp cool(not cold) water straight from the tap. I notice this when brishing most times. Friends often tell me my breath smells like garlic though I don't eat it at all. That's a sign of mouth odour I guess? Also my gums bleed EVERY time I brush or bite into something like an orange or something similar. Lemme get ur response to this before I proceed with the rest. Btw, the dentist told me to use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash in the ratio 1:6. Been doing that, can't see any improvements. Thanks |
Used pampers, huggies, molfix for my baby. Kept on changing cos I was searching for the best n now iv found it. Its called 'Good partner baby diapers'. The tapes are elastic so it allows u stretch it very well when wearing for ur LO. Hubby sooo loves it, he doesn't allow me buy any other brand. Its relatively unknown buh its very good. Try it. |
@bennysucre If n when u eventually confront ur mother, be sure to keep us (or me) posted. I'll really love to know ow things turned out. |
mods abi na modupe, y did u guys hide all my posts?am really pissed now. aint we free to express ourselves anymore? to d best of my knowledge,my posts werent filled with hate or anything. una no try abeg. #mega pissed! if una like, hide this one again too. |
