don't want medical personnel battling the disease to run out of it due to hoarders. Those advice are political and not scientific.

Even if it is only 30% effective(much more than that), only an ignorant or a sadistic mind will advise people not to use one without good reasons, in this case, the "experts" have the greater good argument that it is better to protect medical personnel first.

I will not help you look for the various scientific reports on the effectiveness of face masks
in stopping viral respiratory infections.

You don't need a special mask to filter the Coronavirus because it is spread through droplets which
are too large to pass through most common face masks.
Moreover, masks also stop people from directly transferring the virus to their nose and mouth through touching.

A face mask is for everyone and all masks will do.

Face masks worked in Japan, it worked in China, it is working in South Korea.

That is WHO recommendations on the use of face masks. I don't know why you're simply arguing unnecessarily.

No, it wasn't face masks that produced the results in Asia, it was the enforcement of compulsory lock down by their governments. Social distancing is the effective solution, not compulsory face masks. That is something most European countries refused to do at the early stages.

Face masks can only protect you from inhaling large droplet particles if an infected person coughs or sneezes into your face, but it can't protect you from inhaling aerosols which are much smaller particles and are airborne for a long time. Mind you that your eyes will remain open both to large droplets and aerosols. Also, most wearers don't know how to press the masks to seal around their noses, so they can still inhale even the large particles.

By and by, I will take WHO recommendations over face mask than whatever other people are saying.

Talking about masks with filters, I am sure you are referring to FFP masks. Does it appear to you that it's that kind of mask that is being emphasised here? Those masks are very expensive, and they are not even supposed to be worn except when caring for infected patients or at least suspected cases (I'm talking in the context of COVID-19 pandemic). The N95 mask can filter up to 95% of particles and can this prevent the wearer from inhaling aerosols that can be released when infected patients cough, sneeze or when they are undergoing aerosol-generating procedures.

The point I was trying to make is that there is time for everything. Social distancing may be the best for now, but there wasn't any need for the comparisons you made. After this pandemic is over, people won't talk about social distancing again till another pandemic.

Social distancing is not the way the world should function. It's an abnormality which needs to be adopted now to save lives. It is not necessarily better than gathering in a church, but it is the preferred option now. There are many depressed people in the past who were saved from suicides by the words they heard and experiences they had in churches. If they had gone the way of social distancing, many would have died long ago.

To be fair on the government, Nigeria cannot survive a completely closed borders. Nothing is manufactured in that country.
If the borders are completely closed for a duration that can be up to one year or more (considering the projections regarding this COVID-19), more than 30-50% will die of hunger. There will be a complete breakdown of law and order, with overwhelming chaos everywhere.
If the borders are open, COVID-19 will run rampage and probably destroy 10-15% of the population.
Which option do you think is more feasible for a country with such a weak and fragile economy as Nigeria?

Do you know how it will spread in camp if just one infected person enters any of the camps? As for source of infected persons, we don't need to think far when we remember that NYSC officials, military guys, those who sell at mammy markets etc all don't live in the camp. The point in quote is completely nonsensical. If he did not balkanize Kano Emirate, would there have been more than one Emir in Kano State?
