Lol. I know someone who attends a branch of one of the top 2 churches in the country (def not Winners). The church is a fairly new church. They don't even have walls. You get the picture? But Everytime they contribute money (be it offerings, tithe), guess where it goes? That's right. The HQ. They are even levied on top of it. They do everything by themselves, a congregation of not up to 50 persons. They don't receive a dime from the HQ.

I understand your point and it's saddening but you should know it isn't just about Pentecostal churches. I grew up in the Anglican church, and I remember that in those days, the Diocese will give all the churches a levy called Assessment. If you see how rural and local churches used to struggle to pay the assessment, all of which goes to the diocese. Even today that they collect tithe, the whole tithe still goes to the diocese. The only difference is that the Bishop doesn't 'own' the church, so he doesn't have much right to the whole money.

I won't be against giving of tithes and offerings because some pastors abuse it out of their greed. Some churches (like the one I worship in) really needs the tithes and offerings to keep going. The pastor doesn't even have direct access to the church money. At the beginning of every year, they will present an account of all the earnings and spendings in the past year.

It's just a mere business. it's not like it's free. The people keying into it weren't homeless before this. So I can't see the big deal that is making all of you blaspheme and all.

And who said the church can't engage in business? The gospel of Christ needs financing. The missionaries taking the gospel to the ends of the earth get funding form different people and churches. Even these big churches have rural missions, they have churches in remote areas that are funded centrally.

It's better there is wealth in the Church than for the Church to be broke. Poverty doesn't necessarily advance the Kingdom.

Looking at the point in bold, that's how many estates start. There is often a homogenous ownership of the houses but in a couple of years time, it won't remain like that.
If in 10 years time, an owner of a house there wants to relocate to another country like Canada, and chooses to sell the house, what is the chance that he will get another buyer from Winners? It may even be a Muslim that will buy it.
What about house owners who are members today but will leave the ministry in some years to come? Will they be mandated to hand over their houses to the church?

That's a different statement. It has nothing to do with the estate. Every believer who understands their place in Christ is a candidate of heaven. He made a simple confession of his faith.

By the way, he never said he lives in the estate. He's obviously a member of Living Faith and he's celebrating the advancement of their church despite attacks from the world.

In most churches today, less than 50% of members faithfully give their tithes. Why are you guys so concerned? You people don't complain when non-believers spend even more than 10% of their earnings on alcohol, girls, sports betting and other forms of flexing. You only get bitter when other adults decide to give their own to their pastors.
Imagine that freeze wouldn't mind if I spend 10% of my salary on expensive drinks, but he's bitter that I drop it in church. Such a shame!

My point is that the Catholic Church is a far cry from what the early Church was. The early Church which Peter, Paul, James, John, Timothy, Barnabas etc belonged to was more like the present day pentecostal churches. Along the line, the early Church became terribly corrupted, a lot of compromises were made in the middle ages, several unscriptural doctrines were adopted, the most prominent of which is the reverence for Mary (which was never done by the early Church). Today, Mary is placed on the same level with Jesus Christ, by Catholics. That's why I tell you that the Catholic Church isn't the church the early saints handed over.
I agree that all other denominations stemmed from the Catholic Church, which is the reason why the Catholic Church ended up becoming Roman Catholic Church.

Don't tell me that crap that Peter was the first pope. That's absolute bunkum. St. Peter was not a Roman Catholic. The brand of Christianity practised by the early church is akin to the present day pentecostalism in it's best form. The idolization of Mary and all other practices carried on by the RC Church were introduced in the middle ages, and many of them stem from the idol worship in the Roman Empire of those days.

The countries you mentioned are almost ethnically homogenous. In Nigeria, there is a very sharp divide between the North and South.

The truth is that the reason why many Southern youth didn't consider Moghalu is because he wouldn't stand a chance in the North, so they didn't want to waste their votes. I can assure you that if Southern Nigeria was a country, that election would have been between Moghalu, Sowore, Durotoye cos many Southern youth identified with them but simply knew they didn't stand a chance based on how Nigeria is presently structured. Let's stop deceiving ourselves. The North-South dichotomy in Nigeria is real.
