Auxtin85:But the impact of a failed government in an overpopulated nation will be worse than in a nation where the population is moderate. |
Esseite:The only bargaining chip of the North? Nigeria's population growth will continue unabated. The best thing for Nigeria is a break up of the country. The country can never make progress as it is presently constituted. |
Pearlyakin:I tire! Elumelu's net worth isn't even up to $1bn. He's not a billionaire in $. |
veeceesynergy:Primary school English assessment isn't like IELTS where there's a test of writing, speaking, reading or listening abilities. The kids are never tested on their ability to speak English language in most (if not all) Nigerian schools. It's possible that all the questions in the continuous assessment tests and exams were multiple choice, and bright children can easily score 100% in such exams. Any child that can easily score 100% in Maths, General Paper, and 2 other subjects can equally score 100% in English. It's primary school, so the questions are usually not very difficult. |
People are funny, I swear. So the girl got naked alone with her boyfriend, they had all the pre-intimacy, and d guy rubbed his erect dick and even ejaculated on her vulva, yet she still believes she was still a virgin? If the guy had slid the phallus in and out of her mouth, anus, or inbetween her breasts, she most likely would still be calling herself a virgin. Nonsense! |
veeceesynergy:What the heck are you saying? Did anybody tell you she couldn't speak good English just because she was very proficient in pidgin? Delta (especially Warri and Sapele) people love communicating in pidgin and they are very good at it, but it really says nothing about their mastery of English. More so, there is a difference between written and spoken English. Even in England, children are still taught English language in schools. You can be good in written English but poor in spoken English and vice versa. The English exams in Nigerian schools only tests people's ability to understand and write in English. |
NigerDeltan:So why did igberetv give it that headline that made it seem like it had anything to do with Wike and Awara? |
BabaAduras:And what has he done to stop the attacks? How many people have been arrested? How come the Military, Police and DSS cannot track the killers down? |
mmadu5:The Benue victims are Christians, just like most of the victims of herdsmen attack in the Middle Belt. |
Amuocha:Same thing going through my mind. I think she would have survived if they took her to a good hospital and she had surgeries to fix whatever injuries she sustained in her abdomen. It wasn't a stab on the neck or chest where the victims bleed to death in a question of minutes. May her soul rest in peace. |
Neoteny:You're simply consoling yourself. The fact that PDP even stood a chance in 2019 shows how much Buhari is a failure. Considering the goodwill he enjoyed in 2015 and the fact that he still had a 2nd term to contest for, PDP was never going to be an option in 2019 if not that Buhari failed massively. Until late 2018, nobody expected PDP to stand a chance. PDP lost the presidency in 2015. They made an attempt at a comeback in 2019 and failed. There is no political burial, except you don't understand anything about politics. Buhari stood a very high chance of winning again cos he used power of incumbency. Jonathan simply refused to do that in 2015 cos he didn't want more Southerners to die in the North. It happened in 2011 and would have been worse in 2015. The North wanted Jonathan out by all means and he understood the implication of forcing himself to remain in power. PDP lost Imo State in 2011 to Rochas. They tried to take it back in 2015 but Rochas rigged himself in with his power of incumbency. What happened in Imo last month? I can bet you, that's the kind of situation that will happen at the national level in 2023. Northerners still respect Buhari and that's a fact. That explains the reason why he won but many other APC gubernatorial candidates struggled in that same North. By the time his tenure ends, that's when you will understand how worthless APC is as a party. Even in the South West which I believe is your region, PDP did better in 2019 than in 2015. By 2023, they will collect one or 2 more SW states. |
NSCIA should shut up. The point made by CAN is valid. CAN never said all the positions should be shared equally. They were only saying that at least a Christian legislator should be considered for one of those posts. In all the instances NSCIA quoted, there was never a time that the President, Senate President, Speaker and Chief Justice were all Christians. It has never happened in Nigeria. Even for the 2009 - 2011 period they quoted, Dimeji Bankole (a Muslim) was the Speaker, and Jonathan wasn't actually supposed to be the President if Yar'Adua hadn't become sick. Now CAN is saying, let a Christian at least be the Speaker (which will kinda mirror the 2009 - 2011 situation). To even make matters worse, APC is considering a North Central Muslim (Wase) for Deputy Speaker. CAN may have deviated from their original path, but it isn't the business of Muslims. The present circumstances of Nigeria has created much mutual suspicion across both religious groups so CAN will continue to mount pressure on the political leaders who want to miximise every opportunity to suppress the Church. |
melzabull:It's a sign of immaturity to start throwing about tribalistic words and statements without provocation. There was simply no reason to start mentioning Yorubas at that time. You can celebrate all the Igbo Amaka stuff, that's perfectly alright but to start involving other tribes without a just cause is childish. That you haven't seen me challenge those who insult Igbos doesn't mean I don't do it. My moniker isn't a popular one on Nairaland so you probably haven't noticed any of my comments before. |
Neoteny:But we just agreed that PDP took 6 states from you in 2019 when you guys were shouting that PDP will be buried. Between now and 2023, at least 5 more states plus the presidency would have been taken back from you. You can take it to the bank. |
Neoteny:2023 will tell, bro. |
Neoteny:Aiming low? As at 2015, you guys said PDP was dead and would be buried by 2019. 2019 came and the same dead party collected 6 of the States controlled by your party as at the time you first said PDP was dead. What kind of death is that? I have little or no feelings for Saraki. He was part of those who humbled PDP in 2015, so it's a good payback for him. |
Xander85:It's about the ease of registering and running a business in those states, not about the condition of their roads. Abia is more business friendly than many other states. They just haven't got governors who are very determined to transform their roads. |
kingemzy5:JUST STOP THIS! YOU GUYS ARE NOT THE ONLY IGBOS ON THIS PLATFORM. IF YOU AREN'T YET TIRED OF THE TRIBAL BANTERS, SOME OF US ARE ALREADY FED UP! |
vince2016:Stop quoting figures stupidly. Use your sense. Nearly half of all the positive news about Nigeria coming from abroad is as a result of Igbos. Where did you get the 80% from? Do you know the magintide of that number? |
Neoteny:You've retired PDP, yet by last month, they won 6 states that were won by APC in 2015? What kind of retirement is that? |
ItzBIM:Oh, Virgin! Alright. |
ItzBIM:Only 2 direct flights - BA and Medview? |
kemmylove101:Hope u remember that ur region is still the headquarters of Internet fraud. Ibadan is their domain. |
Randy100:Alright. |
Randy100:Please, what's the difference between nun and sister, cos I used to think they meant exactly the same? |
tactius:Unfortunately, the Catholic Church makes it seem like an unpardonable sin to quit the priesthood. |
olas24u:My dear, Igbos don't need anybody to be a great nation. The only thing the South South has to offer is crude oil which is already becoming worthless. In the next 30 years, crude oil will be far more worthless than it is now. Even at that, Igbos still have a little crude which can serve the entire Igbo nation. You might want to tell me that Igbo land is small and landlocked, but how does it matter? Rwanda is one of the most successful African nations today. It is landlocked and even smaller in landmass than the South East of Nigeria. The same way Rwanda rose from the ashes of the genocide of 1994 that nearly completely ruined the nation and has become a force in Africa today is the way Igbo land rose from the ruins of the civil war, and has overtaken some other regions that didn't fight any war, in terms of almost all indices of development. Get this into your head, IGBOS NEED NOBODY TO BE SUCCESSFUL OR DEVELOPED. We export success and development to other places. |
olas24u:I'm referring to the Igbo nation. Of course it will be called Biafra whether any part of South South joins it or not. |
olas24u:Are you guys ready to call for referendum for Biafra? I never supported Biafran agitation before last year, but with what you guys are doing, I will do whatever I can to see that come thru. You hate us so much yet you force us into the same country. Isn't it stupid? |
Ajengogo:What kind of amnesia are you guys suffering from? So just because Igbos lost out 4 years ago, we won't hear again? Which political orientation of Igbos was divergent with popular views between 1999 and 2015? You guys are plain irritating! |
