This photo was taken on Nov. 20, 2014 when Buhari, Amaechi, Oyegun and other APC honchos protested in Abuja against the rising insecurity and killings in the country. Insecurity and mass deaths are now way worse on their watch than at any time in peacetime Nigeria. Where're the hypocrites now? Who will protest now without being killed by government's security forces?

This drone can plant a 100,000 trees a day and a billion trees a year. One would expect that if Nigeria truly seeks to divest from oil, now is the time to invest or seek partnerships towards acquiring this technology for our agricultural Sector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrgSi0RS4Ek |

Amid calls by Miyetti Allah Kautal Haure for Fulanis to remain in the South and defend themselves, the Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, have asked the herders to leave the South or face actions. BNYL said it had organized strong militia groups across its areas of influence to repel any attacks by killer herdsmen. Chief Press Secretary of BNYL, Comrade Kufre Obot, made the disclosure to newsmen at the weekend in Calabar. He said “The apex Fulani group is encouraging the killer herdsmen to remain in the South and kill in pretense of self defense but that is dead on arrival, because we have prepared our boys ready to repel any attacks, Miyetti Allah will be shocked at what they will see”. Obot also disclosed that BNYL have focused on grassroots campaign since 2016. “We are a grassroot movement. It is evident in our grassroot programs in Eket, Ikom, Ahoada, Emohua, Bakassi, Obudu and other towns. We have decided to checkmate herders excesses”. The group’s spokesman urged communities in the South-East and South-South to organize vigilante groups to protect the communities. He added that: “A community in Imo State called Abba in Nkwerre LGA have become the first to launch strong a security group with drone cameras, security phones and alarm polls across the communities. “I would advise others to follow suit and be part of efforts to secure our land because no group can do it alone without the communities helping themselves too.” https://dailypost.ng/2019/07/21/biafra-group-moblizes-miyetti-allah-issues-waring-fulanis/amp/ |
As the country continues to face security challenges, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday reiterated his commitment to a safe Nigeria. He gave the assurance while meeting members of Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo (MBO) Dynamic Support Group led by the National Coordinator, Usman Ibrahim, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Buhari said the aim was to have a Nigeria where families will be safe and children having opportunities for comfortable lives. “As leaders in your various communities, I urge you all to take the message back to your communities. It is not about politics, religion or tribe. It is about having a Nigeria where our families will be safe and our children will have plenty opportunities to earn a living and live comfortable lives,” he said. Thanking the group for the hard work and dedication during the 2019 campaign, he said that his administration was committed to delivering on its mandate. He said: “Our vision for CHANGE is to have a safe and secure country for our citizens – a vibrant and inclusive economy that provides jobs and livelihoods for our young and energetic population. And of course, a governance system that is free of corruption – a system where any Nigerian has the same opportunity as the next one.” Buhari who assured the group that he would study their demands, described Nigeria’s constitution as the fairest document where a state like Bayelsa with eight local government areas and Kano with 44 local government areas have the same number of senators (three each) representing their people. “The constitution facilitate one thing, that is there must be a member of the executive council from each state of the federation. Why I praise the authors of our constitution is that Bayelsa with eight local governments has three senators and Kano with 44 has three senators. So, you can’t be fairer than that in the context of one Nigeria. “Please try to understand that I appreciate you; you are doing a thankless job for which nobody is paying you. You use your resources and time to come together and discuss national resources. I pray God will help us to keep this country strong economically and morally.” Ibrahim in his remarks earlier, described Buhari’s victory in the 2019 election as no handout but a reward of the president’s painstaking commitment he made with Nigerians. He emphasised that the victory was achieved through the sacrifices of many Nigerians including those who paid the supreme sacrifice and others who sustained permanent disability. Ibrahim said some members of MBO were attacked in FCT and they narrowly escaped death when one of their businesses were smashed; they lost the Kwara coordinator and the Bayelsa State woman leader, while Ogun, Abia, Bayelsa states coordinators were yet to recover from the beating they received during the elections. He reminded the president that the group embarked on a cashless campaign but were never deterred as they ensured their members were fully on the ground. Ibrahim said the group had developed citizen-government information flow that would help the government scaled its policies from the bottom-up approach while the citizens have a sense of belonging that will further generate wider participating governance. The group suggested a next level summit that would address various challenges and prospect in the country. The group also pledged its readiness to become an asset to Buhari’s administration, noting that it had qualified professionals that have excelled in various fields of endeavours that would impact the next level administration positively. “We therefore request that you give consideration to this noble men and women; we promise that we will never let you down.” https://www.sunnewsonline.com/why-ll-bayelsa-with-8-kano-44-lgs-have-equal-senators-buhari/ |

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says the present administration has invested N900 billion in the power sector since its assumption of office in 2015. Mr Osinbajo stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on the Asagba of Asaba, Chike Edozien, on Friday in Asaba. ”Since assumption of office, we have invested so far in terms of support N700 billion in the power sector. Earlier, we invested N200 billion. The vice president said the federal government was in the process of investing another N600 billion in the sector. On further steps to improve power supply in the country, the vice president said that the federal government had decided to take a second look at the power sector. According to him, one of the reasons why there are challenges in the power sector is that each of the distribution companies (Discos) controls a particular territory. ”And now we are saying that any company that wants to provide power to any territory, should be able to provide power for the territory and the people. ‘We have been able to break the existing monopoly in the power sector. Whether upgrade or not, the discos should be able to serve the people. ”Another strategy we are trying to introduce is to open up the power sector by restructuring,” he said. On the second Niger Bridge, Osinbajo said that the project was very important to the Federal Government. According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari did not only negotiate for the equipment being used for the construction of the bridge, but is also paying special attention to the project. “I was here six weeks ago to look at the progress of the work there and I must say that the project is going on well. “I hope that very soon we should be completing not just the bridge, but also all surrounding infrastructure both here in Asaba and the other end of the bridge,” he added. Earlier, in his address of welcome, the Asagba of Asaba noted that poor power supply had been a major challenge in the Delta capital and appealed to the federal government to intervene in the situation. He also appealed to government to compensate the people of Asaba on the 1967 massacre which claimed many lives, by establishing a federal university in the town. According to him, Asaba is the only state capital in Nigeria without a federal university. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/340609-buhari-administration-invested-n900bn-on-power-since-2015-osinbajo.html |
Jigawa state governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has affirmed that the Ruga project as initiated by the president Muhammadu Buhari led administration was only suspended pending when all necessary measures are put in place. Badaru, who described the Ruga project for herders as a right of those in the business and not a privilege as wrongly assumed, added that, either Ruga or Ranching, the aim is to improve the general well being of not only those in the business but the general public as well. According to him, cattle rearing are businesses that provide jobs for millions of Nigerians guarantee food security and enhance income generation to governments at various levels. The governor, while stressing that the imitative was part of the federal governments’ Ease of Doing Business agenda, added that, both local and international investors would want to invest in the livestock economic sector. Badaru also noted that, Ruga or cattle Ranches is a project designed to improve cattle rearing practice in the country, with the aim of making it more profitable, more healthier, more peaceful and environmentally friendly. “The Ruga project is not cancelled by federal government but suspended for the review and it will be implemented for the benefit of all Nigerians not only cattle rearers”. In his submission, Badaru said these cattle herders are Nigerians and their business is legitimate, hence it is their civil right not privilege for the country to support and provide them with enabling environment for doing the business irrespective of their tribal or geographical affiliation. Governor Badaru further promised to implement any project or policy that could help local or international businessmen do their businesses easily in Jigawa state. http://leadership.ng/2019/07/12/ruga-a-right-not-privilege-for-fulanis-gov-badaru/ |
No fewer than 7,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State who were allegedly attacked and displaced by Fulani herdsmen are said to be traumatised, depressed, with several of them contemplating suicide. The displaced persons who are made up of women, children and the aged, were former residents of nine out of 15 communities who were forced out of their homes on March 8, 2018, the day President Muhammadu Buhari was in Plateau for a two-day official visit. Spokesman of the Concerned Youths of Bokkos Local Government Area, Arch. Macham Makut, disclosed this on Tuesday in Jos while briefing journalists on the suspended RUGA settlement programme by Federal government. Makut revealed that the communities from where the people were displaced in Bokkos Local Government Area had already been earmarked for the suspended RUGA settlement without the consent of the people now languishing in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps. He vowed that the youths will vehemently resist any move to impose any unfair policy on the displaced communities and called on the Federal government to take urgent measures towards the resettlement of the people. “Following the untold hardship currently face by IDPs in Bokkos Local Government Areas, women, children and the aged are traumatised, depressed and many others are contemplating suicide because of their pains. “As patriotic citizens, we acknowledge the Federal government’s regard for the peace and progress of its citizens, in keeping with its constitutional responsibility. “However, that the RUGA settlement policy was drawn without the consent and input of the farmers whose lands are expected to be converted for the RUGA project is highly questionable and tantamount to land-grabbing. “The government is considering resettling the herdsmen while thousands of crop- farming peasants who were violently evicted from their homes remain in IDPs camps and other uninhabitable shelters is to say the least, insensible, divisive and an unwarranted assault. We in Bokkos LGA, from the attacks of last year 2018 alone, have 7,000 displaced persons from about nine communities which are now desolate. “These people have not been resettled but we are aware that only the unilateral implementation of the RUGA programme was suspended. This was not even because Nigerians opposed it but because it was not in accordance with the design approved by the National Executive Council, National Economic Council and the National Food Security Council.” Makut explained that Plateau State has been under violent herdsmen attacks for almost two decades, leaving behind thousands of people killed, several displaced and properties worth billions of naira destroyed. “None of the victims of these dastardly acts has ever received any Federal government compensation or grant to start life again, despite losing all their means of livelihood and in some instances, breadwinners to the attacks.” Makut kicked against the cattle colony, ranching and Ruga settlement and urged Federal government to encourage livestock farmers to imbibe the culture of ranching their animals as it is a personal business just like farming is to the rural farmers. “Ranching has been successfully employed in some climes as a way of resolving herds attacks on crops of farmers. Anything short of this is unacceptable to us and any attempt to force the RUGA policy on our farming communities in Bokkos LGA, now or later will be firmly resisted through all available legal means.” https://www.sunnewsonline.com/9-plateau-communities-uprooted-by-herdsmen-earmarked-for-ruga/ |
President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged Nigeria’s continued support for Libya’s quest to regain political and security stability. “We will do our best to help Libya stabilise,” the president told the Head of Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, at a bilateral meeting on the margins of the AU Summit in Niamey, Niger Republic, on Sunday. The president, who discussed recent developments in the North African country as well as bilateral issues between Nigeria and Libya with Mr. Al-Sarraj, noted that there were over 6,000 Nigerians in Libya, who see Libya as a gateway to Europe. He said the humanitarian crisis arising from insurgency and the drying up of Lake Chad, which has affected over 30 million people in the region who depend on the Lake for farming, fishing and animal husbandry has forced some Nigerians to defy the desert to make perilous journeys across the Mediterranean and the Sahara Desert to Europe. Also, in a separate audience with UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, President Buhari stressed the role the international community needed to play in recharging the Lake, noting that the financial cost was beyond the affected countries. The president noted that the instability in Libya has been a negative force on the Sahel. The Head of Libya’s GNA told the President that there had been a lot of deaths and injuries in his country, pledging that his government was determined to put an end to the situation. “The aggression must stop. The solution is not military alone we also believe in diplomacy. We are also victims of terrorism, just like Nigeria,” he said. Al-Sarraj declared that Libya contributed a lot to the establishment and survival of the AU, adding that it was now time for Africa to reciprocate. On her part, the Deputy Secretary-General told the president that the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will host the SDGs Summit during the high-level week of the 74th Session of the General Assembly in September, and will use the occasion to call for a road map for a decade of delivery of the sustainable development targets. The Deputy Secretary-General also congratulated President Buhari for signing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement at the AU Summit in Niamey. MY EXPERIENCE AS I ENROUTE TO ABUJA FROM ADAMAWA The RUGA program has truly commenced!!! In the early hours of Sunday, June 30, 2019 i enroute from Adamawa State to Abuja. While approaching Billiri, i saw a multitude of cattles and Fulanis (men, women and their children) standing on the road, they looked stranded, It was as if they were sent out of their homes. I asked myself, Why is this large number of cattle and Fulani on the road?”. Still moving, while approaching Futuk, a local settlement in Gombe State, I saw another multitude of cattles close to a river bank, these ones were more in number compared to the previous, and they included cows, camels, sheeps and goats, all being controlled and monitored by their Fulani owners. I thought they had settled there for a while for the cattles to have water to drink, probably after a long journey. As we kept on moving, I was greatly surprised to see them in their numbers along the road as they increased geometrically. This could be the Settlers President Buhari is carving lands for, i thought. Reaching Alkaleri, a town in Bauchi State, our vehicle stopped for passengers to have some rest and perhaps grab something to eat before we continue the journey. Where we were at Alkaleri, i saw a young and vibrant Fulani herder; i approached him and engaged him in a conversation. This I did to find out why there were so many 'stranded-looking' Fulanis on the way with their cattles; i presumed he would know! As i walked up to him, i said, Inakwana which means ‘Good morning’ in Hausa language and he responded Walla Hausa. At this point i suspected he does not understand Hausa language, perhaps not a Nigerian. I think i should speak the little Fulfulde I understand, maybe thats what he understands I said to myself. So i said Noi which means How are you? and he replied “Jam” meaning Fine. And I continued by asking him if he could speak Fulfulde in Fulani which is referred to as 'awodi fulfulde na' and he said Oui which I know to mean Yes in French. Why didnt he reply me in Fulfulde but in French?, I became more curious, i decided to communicate in French with him which I discovered he could only speak well, luckily for me, I understand French too, so the conversation continued in French. I asked him Tu parles Française and with a big smile he answered, Oui. Hearing me speak French, he was so amazed, the joy was written all over his paled face. In French, i inquired to know where he came from and he told me he was from Mali. MALI! This immediately confirmed my suspicion, he was not a Nigerian! It was there and then I knew that Nigerians are on the verge of losing their lands to foreigners. If you are a Buharist and you love what he is doing, my brother, continue to support him! I bet you, this will not only affect you but your entire generation. I wish for this not to happen in my generation because it's a pity that this generation is full of cowards. I say this without apology! RUGA program means 'allowing foreigners to graze and live with us in our own land'. *I stand to say no to RUGA*. I am *Emperor Kingsley Emmanuel* (An Advocate for Positive Change) Copied. |
