From the days of OBJ till date, all ministers of information are liars. Infact sometimes I wonder if their job is actually to lie to the public. I would say that of Labaran Maku was minimal compared to the rest. That is not to say he wasn't also a liar.

Bros how many more proofs do you need to convince you that some people rule this country.they own it. Babangida was better. Na military. So many coup factions. Now it cabal upon cabal.we don't need a protest.we need prayers. It won't work. Its a good cause that would be violated. By these same cabals.
Its like you didn't understand my previous post. IBB even though he was a military man and had absolute power, he was still very scared of protests. Any govt anywhere in the world is scared of protest. Don't be deceived. Cabals upon cabals didn't start today.

What did I just read? Protest don't work in Nigeria? Chai! Democracy don spoil una finish. Go and ask Babangida why he willingly step aside as a military president.

Buhari is an hypocritical president. He is fighting a one sided anti corruption fight.

Senator Sheu Sani is an APC man and should be commended for this critical exposure of the Buhari administration.

Ask yourselves: was there a time in the history of PDP successive administrations whereby a senator or HR member came out to tell it like Senator Sani just did?
Yes there were. Although I don't like the party.
I still remember when patrick Obahiagbon was in the house, he usually gets up to criticise the PDP govt. The funny thing was that many of them wouldn't even understand what he is saying and would laugh it off. It is after some days when they probably would have checked their dictionary before they realise what he wa saying

I know you are a Yoruba and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I was a baby when that election took place and my mother was in the opposing party (NRC) against Abiolas (SDP). It was visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that Abiola won that election.

The news was all over the whole place so what are you talking about here? In our street then if I could remember, Abiola WON on clean slate.

I really don't know why most of you Yorubas are like this. Why?
A former chief judge of the Federal High Court,
Abuja, Justice Dahiru Saleh (retd.), who tied the
last judicial knot before the annulment of the
June 12, 1993, presidential election has
absolved former President Ibrahim Babangida
of culpability over the issue.
Saleh, while taking responsibility for the
annulment, also faulted the failure of Chief
Moshood Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the
election, to appeal his decision.
Justice Saleh had in June 1993 ordered the then
National Electoral Commission, NEC, to stop
further release of the results of the election
upon the claim that the election itself should
not have been conducted in the first place.

He had cited the mid-night ruling on June 11,
1993, by Justice Bassey Ikpeme that the
election should not hold.
The Prof. Humphrey Nwosu-led NEC had upon
the provisions of Decree 13 of 1993 which
ousted the courts from derailing the transition
programme, gone ahead to conduct the
election on June 12 which turned out to be one
of the best organised elections in the history of
the country.
Speaking toThe Interview,a magazine
publication, the former jurist fully absolved
Babangida of any role in the issue, even as he
expressed no regrets over the ruling which led
to a five-year impasse in the march towards
democracy.
Besides, several lives were lost in the agitation
for the manifestation of the mandate.
However,Vanguard recalls that Babangida in his
address to the nation cancelling the June 12
election had noted the failure of the judiciary,
which he said behaved less than satisfactorily
and alleged the use of money in the election as
he said as much as N2.1 billion was expended
by the two presidential candidates, Chief
Moshood Abiola and Alhaji Bashir Tofa.
Babangida also alleged that the election............

Nwosu conducted the 12 June 1993 election,
which was seen as the freest and fairest election
to date, in which Chief Moshood Abiola was
presumed to have won.
Nwosu's commission
introduced the novel Option A4 voting system and
the Open ballot system. Nwosu had released
many of the election results when he was ordered
to stop further announcement by the military
regime.
In 2008 he published a book in which he

annulling the election. The book was severely
criticized for failing to accurately account for what

It took him 15 long agonizing years for him to claim to release the result of the June12 1993 election. But he left us the apostles of June 12 more traumatized and severely annoyed.

Pls keep quiet there. If you witnessed it, you would have known they were still collating the result when it was annulled. There was no time Humphrey Nwosu declared MKO as the winner. We used the open ballot system then, so it was easy for people to know the winner even without the chairman declaring. Go and ask your elders to explain it to properly to you and stop forming what you are not.

Forget about what is written in wikipedia. Humphrey Nwosu did not announce the winner before it was annulled. You can ask any elderly person around you. The elections were still being counted and so far MKO was leading before the annulment. 1993 is just like yesterday to me because I was even among those that protested.

Can people with international relations knowledge educate me here ?

For the past few days the media have been awash with the second after second events in the Gambia, about the political upheaval ongoing in the west African country after President Jammeh refused to step down following his loss at presidential polls.

Way back in 90's, IBB's candidate lost presidential elections to Abiola and subsequently, IBB had the young man jailed and denied him his legitimate position as POFRN. ECOWAS did shiiit. Not even a single tank assemble near our borders. Why the unequal treatment?

Is ECOWAS and AU biased?
As far as I know, the electoral commission never announced Abiola as the winner of that election

But he messed up and now going into exile.

I can bet that he will eventually face justice some day.
Anyone that tells you Jammeh will not answer for his crimes is lying. Even Jammeh knows this. The issue will be how grievous the offenses are. This negotiation is no longer about freeing him from his crimes (that was when he hasn't become a rebel). It is more of whether he wants to die or stay alive. The reason negotiation is still used is because of the human collateral damages and innocent soldiers that will loose their lives.

Foreign AffairsRe: Gambia's Yahya Jammeh Agrees To Step Down As President by khadaffi(m):
ganye1:
I don't blame Jammeh for the crisis after the election because he conceded defeat and was willing to relinquish power peacefully but the the foolish utterances of the president elect Adama Baro is what led him to take the stand he took which forced the leaders of West Africa to negotiate a safe landing for him. To those who do not understand politics Jammeh is disgraced but the reality is that he made use of the bad situation he created in renouncing the result of the election to negotiate a safe landing for himself.
What kind of useless safe landing are you talking about. A better offer was given to him earlier if he hadn't become a rebel. He refused the ECOWAS delegation. Then, he could have even stayed in his country if he so decides. Now he is going to be embarrassed out of his country and there is the possibility he will be tried for his crime. The situation is no longer an appeal for him to hand over but a question of if he wouldn't so he can be killed.
Once he is out of his country, his powers and connection will be reduced. This was exactly what happened to charles Taylor before they eventually arrested him
PoliticsRe: Would You Welcome A Military Invasion Of Nigeria? by khadaffi(m): 7:48pm On Jan 20, 2017
MKO Abiola's case is a totally different scenario as he was never announced by the electoral commission as the winner. Meanwhile Nigeria's case is different, if GEJ had decided not to hand over, I doubt if even all the entire military would have stood in support of him. There were just too many betrayals around GEJ, infact that was why he lost woefully. Common sense was why he handed over peacefully otherwise APC would have attempted that parallel govt they spoke about and international community would have recognized and supported the parallel govt.

OK. Why the rush to oust him?
Sanctions and diplomacy would put pressure on the tiny country president to step down.
Allowing Senegal to enter Gambia when you look at the map is like annexation of Gambia by its bigger neighbor.
Just place a blockade or a no fly zone over Banjul and the regime would crumble without a shot being fired. But an all out war might mean a gorilla war fare which would take longer and more tax payers money.
In my part of the world, we have a saying that if u look down on the small pot, it boils and quench the big fire
Do you think those running ECOWAS are stupid? The recognised president of Gambia has probably given them the go ahead to arrest Jammeh. But I doubt if the forces are in Gambia already. What they will do is to see if the gambia military will be loyal to jammeh or Barrow. If the military is loyal to Jammeh, they will be treated as rebels. I don't think I need to tell you what that means. Ecowas forces are never going to fight a guerrilla. Warfare in Gambia, mark my words

So, what next? He should go and take his place in Banjul abi does he want to rule Gambia from Senegal? Imagine if Buhari had been sworn in Cotonou grin grin grin
You should know better that the swearing in was orchestrated by ECOWAS. Without Barrow claiming to be the president, there will be no need for ECOMIG to storm The Gambia. Now that Barrow is president, if he gives order to the military and they disobey and instead obeys Jammey, the entire Gambia's army will be taken as a rebel group hence giving Ecomig a legitimate reason to storm and distroy the the Gambia's army formation and get them arrested. Everything is just a setup.

There could be a lot of reason for this but I hope you are using the recommended charger. If for example the manufacturer requires 15.5v charger and you charge it constantly with 15v charger, such issue could also arise. Also it could be you need a new battery.

The reasons are much abeg. Just visit the laptop's official website for more information

Contrary to reports circulating in the media that Npower participants have been paid our December Allowance, it is pertinent to let you know that that majority of us even states assumed to be paid are not yet paid. I went to complain in kogi state Npower focal person office yesterday and I saw a lot of people with the same complaints. My question is why pay some people and leave out others?

Please pay us o!
But have you guys started working?
