Gmart22: So what was your issue the second time they responded and Does the 17 days include the transit time? The second time l got the account, no issues. Actually l sent mine when there was still confusion in the air on what to fill in tax Id section, l just put Nigeria there and sent my mum's pay slip and a letter explaining that as a student I do not pay tax and that was all. But l'll advice to just fill n/a(not available) on that section if u don't have tax Id number, or put your passport number or better still the individual TIN. Possibly other forms of personal ldentification number such as National Id number may work out, but time would tell. The above options are at least certain. And Nope, the 17days didn't include transit time, rather from when they were received. Alles Gute. |

honourableseyi: Buhari has everything to do with it. The cause of this wahala is the policy he is experimenting here and there couple with his incompetent apex bank chief and ever silence minister of finance we have. The economic team of Buhari is not just cutting it in this regard. This is worst in the history of Nigeria. If this is happening in other developed country, the citis and towns would have been engulfed in protest by now. He shouldn't have made the promise of making 1$ = #1 during his campaign. $1=#1000, that's what he meant. |

ogagaejay: Please guys forget about job prospects, everyone gets a job here. The job is not so important because the money is meager 450euro for a month.not matter where you are you can go anywhere you want. Concentrate on the study. I want to see naira landers asking about the workload and how to cope. Ask questions like how do we cope and get good grades. Do you know if you are among the first five in your class you automatically qualify for a scholarship here in germany that you did not apply for? I want to learn German for job, I want to skip classes for job. These are not important. Follow the routine. Concentrate on the study. Even if you can't get a job, the government is there for you as long you are getting the grades. There are emergency funds for both local and foreign students . I do a mini job, guys here say you should learn German, very good. I will still say if you cannot afford it and your study is in english, come to Germany and learn free just like I did. Before you programme ends you will speak good German. For a job well, you might be lucky to get one like me, what is important is after school. The job is peanut. After school is the main thing and you need good grades for that. Please be wise guys. I do not know anyone who couldn't get a job and because of that got frustrates because of money. But I know allot of people doing another master because the first one was nothing to write about This is a great post, thumbs up. |

Williamso: Well, not necessarily... That's why sometimes it's better to mail an institution directly than asking questions (that have been answered a million times) here. My documents certifications were accepted by uniassist without any seal... Yeah that's right and uniassist has accepted many like that too, l believe the uniassist rule for seal is there because some schools under uniassist insists on it, otherwise uniassist do accept without seal, best option then is to mail the school. I use myself as an example, a school l was to apply to wrote on their website that the transcript must be official, but this would have Cost me more, and certainly delay me beyond the deadline,. So l had to mail the school explaining the circumstances, l hammered on the delay aspect and got a reply that l can apply with my non official transcript. So in summary you can always commune with your course co-ord. |

dennisMOD: Hmmmm. I'm just so confused about this DB wahala. I sent the forms, left the tax stuff empty and then attached a letter that I don't work yet, I am only a student, an applicant, hence I don't pay tax. Also wrote that I've checked the FAQs concerning the blocked acct form where it was written that the tax-related field can be left empty. So that's the reason I left it empty. I hope it works because really I am confused, dunno what to do again. Lol, don't worry time would tell. Maybe it's as simple as putting your passport no, who knows? Let's just wait and see. |

Dear Sirs,
thank you for sending us your account opening documents.
We regret your account cannot be opened because the documents are not completly filled. You have made implausible statements to tax residency. Your foreign registred address does not match with a German tax residency.
Please send us the documents again completely and plausible filled and signed in all spaces with the description "Signature of account holder" and "Acknowledgement of receipt by the depositor".
A confirmation from the German Embassy is not necessary.
All information can be found at https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pfb/content/privatkunden/konto_international-students-en.html
Please send the complete account opening form in original by postal or courier service to our address.
If we do not receive the documents within the next 2 months, we will consider your request as finished.
Mit freundlichem Gruss / Kind regards

i chose the 'I am resident for tax purposes in Germany only' option. It is now obvious that that is the wrong answer. The problem now is if i choose the 'I am resident for tax purposes in the following countries outside Germany' option, choose Nigeria as the country...what do i write as the tax ID number?? I dunno but would our passport no be okay? Just thinking out loud. |

Pls I would like to knw whether Nipost is reliable concerning sending application to Germany or I should js close eye go for DHL. Of course if you can close that eye then close it. On a side note though if your application deadline is still 2-3 months away den it may be worth the risk. Nipost is unpredictable, some people use it and get result in 10 days while there are stories of those who wait for 2 months, so maybe it all depends on their mood sometimes. |

Futurewiser: My stay in Germany here for 3 yrs was a hit back to back. pls if u want my german visa, come and collect it. Stop listening to those guys telling you Germany is easy cos i have met 3 guys here complaining those in nairaland deceived them that Germany was easy and job full cos they were seeing something different here. First of all the language na die The reason most people dont come back is that they have spent so much and have to endure their decisions in frustration cos coming back empty handed na the worst so them don price so them must buy. Na that situation unua want? Pls think of better countries like Canada. Na the free sch fees deceive me come here but how many people dey even graduate here sef wey be say their education tough die and if u fail one curse 3 times dem do drive u commot from sch. How u want take even cope for study when u never pay bills and no job or when u even get job if at all u got and u come back late so tired after doing heavy rejected jobs here how do u think u cab read again that day. who no go no know. Many Nigerians are depressed here and frustrated. God bear me witness am speaking the truth but nothing but the truth.
He who has ear, let him hear what the spirit is saying. But seriously why not do your best to relocate to canada or at least apply for jobs in Naija,. You do not have to settle down in Germany, I believe with your German certificate you would be given preferential treatment for jobs in Naija (depending on your field though). My brother even in the canada you dream of, you would find people complaining there as well, and of course you know schooling in canada is more expensive no matter how difficult or expensive it is in Germany. In summary I agree with you that canada may be better but I believe your studying in Germany has also paved the way for you at least it has opened doors for more opportunities irrespective of the present circumstances. |

Rubbers:
Yea I'll learn to excel despite negativity. I'm not fiending for German fairytales. Ironically, your reaction is also a very common one in any thread, no be oga justwise again? You've just been reading his mind since and analyzing his imaginary subliminal points. Would've made brain if he came out to discourage illegal migration, planning on going to marry some woman for passport and co. Rather his post attacked even students with good intents. I'll be waiting for someone in Germany to read it with "unclosed mind" and say going for studies in Deutschland is not really worth if afterall, that we should stay back (the nairaland buddies he mentioned inclusive)Till then.. This story of how difficult things are abroad is on almost all travel threads and is nothing new. In my opinion I believe the advantages in the end outweigh the disadvantages. Going to Germany as a student with unrealistic expectations of a rosy life is obviously simplistic of course, especially with just Blocked account. And finally we do not know why those in Germany do not come back to comment regularly again, but most of them do make clear how difficult adapting to the new academic life is. So we can't just run to conclusions yet as to why they aren't regular. What's more? Most would begin their exam soon or have even begun. I also eagerly wait with bated breath for them to come share their experience as well. |

dennisMOD: Okay, so I had my interview yesterday and nobody even cared to ask how it went? #sadface. Anyway, it went well, I thank GOD. Three hours after my interview, I received a mail from the Embassy to bring "Declaration of Age", deposed to by one of my parents, to the German Consulate asap in order to complete my application or send through courier service. They said Birth certificate by NPC alone is insufficient so pls take note guys. They also included in the mail that I should fund my blocked account(...wey DB never gimme any acct details yet) and send a receipt of the payment as soon as I can.
So the test Question goes thus; (I don't remember all pls). It comes first before the oral interview.
1). What is Osmosis 2). Please draw a DNA strand 3). How many classes of animals do we have? 4). How many bones does an adult have? 5). Explain what you understand by "Survival of the Fittest. 6). What is the difference BTW Na+ and Na? ... That's all I can remember guys.
Then the oral questions are the same questions we've been familiar with. It's just that the chinco-looking German really worry me gannn. She kept asking same question about 3-4 times randomly. She just wanted me to change mouth. She kept challenging every thing I said. For example, I told her Germany has the largest economy in Europe... She said NO WAY! Where are u getting ur informations from? Have u even read about UK, Finland, Denmark and some other European countries before? Omo! At first, I became confused but I stood my ground in everytin I said. Finally she stamped my passport and gave it back to me. Smiled and told me, u will get your documents through mail soon. That's how it went. Success to all other guys going for interview next month. By the way, my intending course is M.Sc Environmental sci. I hope this would be useful for u guys going into same field. Best of Luck. Congrats, but you should have known that praising the German economy would give away the impression that you are going there for greener pastures, rather than for studies, but thank God you scaled through. All the Best. |

speedygeek: i doubt that will happen.
Have u been interviewed kilo4sure ? My interview is in early February. I have some questions that might sound silly
1.According to the student checklist, we need two visa application forms (no copies). So that means I'll print two copies of the form and fill them with a pen individually?
2.According to the student checklist, only two passport photographs are needed one attached to application form and one loose. So does this mean that one of the forms will have a passport attached and the other left without one?
3. How do i attach the passport to the form? by stapling or by gluing?
Thanks for your anticipated co-operation. I guess babanilla has done justice to these questions. All the best. |
