mamacajah: I use president or oldenberg..any foreign butter sold in the supermarkets is fine. Someone also taught me her method. Get carrots, sweet pea, fish (titus) and potatoes. Boil the carrots, peas and potatoes together. boil fish seperate, de-bone and mash. once boiled, put the potato mixture into a blender, add the mashed fish, a little water and blend. It produces a smooth nutrious pudding. Keep in freezer. when you want to warm, dethraw the food, either use microwave or put a little president butter on the frying pan and add the food for warming. Tastes delicious.
I also followed the advice here, bought basmati rice, boiled it, grinded it into rice pudding. Then I served it with either milk or my special stew sauce. Stew sauce: buy tomatoes, onions, pepper (shonbo-non peppery), beef, chicken and fish. Boiled all the meat and fish. debone and mash fish, meat. For the meat, I used my salad grater to grate the beef and chicken. Blend the tomatoes ingredients. Put on fire to boil with a little oil. when cooked, add the mashed meat/fish, including little salt to taste and mix. Voila -tomatoes sauce with mashed mixed meat.
Its not been easy trying all the recipes I get here becos I work all week, take her with me for office creche and can't stop at the market on the way home but I now a system of cooking her meals on Saturday for the week, freezing it and bring it out when I need it. Thank GOD for improved light situation. Your post is very inspiring. Thanks. Sayoberry @ |

jaybee3: Na true na
Only a regular man that's willing to break his back will play bruce almighty in western world. Single income can't/won't be far reaching! Lol... @Bolded - makes the difference cuz the expectations from both sides are higher. However, I know quite a number of families still dependent on single income as the woman is concentrating fully on the home front. ***I'm sending the stuff shortly. Been battling with it, lost for ideas on how to package it |

debbie: First when you married her,she came in as a help-mate .As for her salary i think you shouldnt ask for it,but try to advice her to manage it well. Remember there are some minor expenses she can handle without calling for your help. There are things she will want to buy for the family which you may not know about...that is for the wise women.
There are times when the income wont be flowing as it should, she will step in to help. If you have kids, she might see things she wants to get for them and will go ahead to buy them.....it helps build her sense of responsibility and support to the family. This is for the women who care about their family. Remember she came from a family with parents ,siblings and relations....she may decide to support and help anyone of them when the need arises...it is from her salary she will do it.
Now you know that the wives salary is also used for them home in general. Great post Debbie. Your opening post says it all. |

Timbuktou: Lol. Hausa people have brains too, you know? I did secondary education in Niger State and I realised everybody is the same. My bunk mates younger brother(Fulani guys) had his article published ny punch and has actually written books with regard to the Nigerian polity. Forget all the senseless stereotyping you hear and read. There are imbeciiles and geniuses in every ethnic group. Isn't Fayose supposed to be a product of the "Fountain of Knowledge"? I must confess I was guilty of (maybe still guilty) of the stereotyping until I went to serve. I didn't even know there were Christians in Maiduguri back then I had to embark on a deliberate research to get to know more about them. Now, they are my best friends But I was still shocked at those words from Shehu Garba, nevertheless. Maybe because I still look at them as being gentle and meek. Did you read those lines by the way? |

tchiwinnie: Pls what do u mean by self cleaning in this context? That the bacteria in the mouth are not harmful when there are no teeth yet or before they start solids. Babycenter advises that you start cleaning just before the teeth sprouts. Some people then use glycerine at this stage instead of toothpaste. |

Marketing is a skill, once you got the required skill set, you will be in paradise. And if you have been performing, one or two years of drought will not kill you. Organizations know there are seasons like that.
But I guess the most important thing for any one is to enjoy his/her career. |
