My birthstory:
I went 4 my antenatal checkup on 25th April,was told I was already dilating(4cm),'n I've been contractin lyk 1 in evry 10mins,bt was asked to come bck wen it becomes lyk 1 in evry 5-7mins.bt d contraction ws nt strong,so it continued. On 30th April,took a long walk in d evenin,had a gud kpekus wit DH,afta wic we prayed 'n agreed dat I would hv my babies on May 1st. I woke up hvin some menstrual cramp-like pain,took breakfast 'n jejely went to d hospital,was on drip containin oxytocin to fasten labour,but it was stil not regular,not until my membrane was ruptured,'n d main tin startd. In a short while i felt d urge to push,was taken to d delivery room 'n baby1 was delivered. It took 20mins 4 baby2 to b delivered,because d Dr had to do some manipulations b4 he ws born. My EDD is 27th may but i had dem on 1st,each weighin 3kg without tear. But in all i giv thanks to God. Sorry 4 d long epistle.

After a good kpekus, then you and DH remembered to pray for your angles Clap for yourself

Mamas! please there is this thick whitish substance on my baby's tongue,which has now extend to the inner part of the lip, Its bn there for awhile now, showed the doc the other day he said nothing to worry abt as it will clear on its on,only for it to extend to d inner part of both upper and lower lip.
Please how can I get rid of it.

It's either thrush or milk residue.

Thrush you should worry about, milk residue will go on its own

Thrush comes in patches while milk residue is more evenly spread out.

Some people prefer to clean milk residue with glycerin or boiled water using a cotton bud. If the appearance becomes better, it's milk residue but if not, it is thrush and you should take your baby for treatment.

Chillisauce:
Don't stop it. Reduce it. As you get older, the weight helps keep your arm firm.

I don't like soft arms so I use my kids as weight when no time to carry the weights .

At least the arm is not dangling like "Christian mother arms ".

Carry weight helps build six packs faster as I noticed.

Btw, I ate so much junk today in a get together. I got lots of fruit now for detox.

Lock your children in their room when your SIL comes around. If she asks after them, say they are sleeping. Abi, do your kids misbehave? Are they spoilt? As for MIL, ignore her. I hope she would not give your children tribal mark behind your back one day.

Doesn't she visit her other children? 3 times a week is too much abeg.

This is the bigger picture when you continue to ignore her. I will prefer to nip it in the bud.

I moved my baby to a cot bed at about 3 months...it's really for newborns.

At 3 months, you should have perfected the art of shielding your baby from peeps you don't really dig naa.

If you are at home, just start beastfeeding your baby once they are coming in or pretend they were fussy, so you are trying to rock them.

It's a simple procedure quite right but then, it's still called a surgical operation and best done where any unforeseen emergency can be quickly handled. Will she be bringing all the equipment to your house or how exactly does she want to go about it?

Use a bib for him constantly but pls remove it when he wants to sleep.

My 2 months old is also experiencing same. She uses her hand to scratch her gum. At first I thought she wanted to suck her hand but a closer look, I noticed she was fiddling with her gum. Also, when I carry her on my shoulder, she'd be turning her neck left to right with her open mouth on my shoulder.

Lol...what can I say? Maybe it's teething, maybe it's not.

When children are hungry, then like to chew on everything.

Also, naturally, at this age, they are at the initial stage of exploring the world, they do this by looking and observing, which is why their eyes start following objects/humans.

They also like to feel with their mouth and this get stronger as they grow up ie they start putting every object in their mouth.

But it's okay to give them teethers at this stage. Teethers are soft toys that will not harm them and also colorful to stimulate their interest.





***since it's a toy they put in their mouth, I will run away from the cheap or inferior ones.

Cow and gate is a good product if your baby tolerates it.

Lol...it's not impossible that he is teething but it is very rare. I suspect he's not really teething except if he is drooling and fussy as well.

However, you can buy him colorful teething toys too, he will grow into them.

No skin though and it was roast chicken breast. I tried bland oats this morning. Yuk. Normally have Alpen fruit and nuts or granola with fruit and yoghurt but efemenaxy I don't think that bland one is for me o. The bananas made it a bit bearable though

My baby too. He keeps puting is hands in his mouth to chew and even pulls my own hands into his mouth to do same and i was told its his gum thats scratching him in preparation for teething. My baby is 3 months old

Pls avoid teething medicines for them, instead buy teething toys (teethers) that your baby can continuously chew on but you will need to constantly clean and sterilize them.

Most teethers relieve babies better when they are a bit cold.

I am more interested in why he didn't marry the mother of the two kids. The woman had two not one child for him yet he didn't deem it fit to marry her but now wishes to marry someone fresh.

The truth about this will go a long way in determining if you are going to be contending with her if you marry him.

I remember when ma mum said i shld pit water putside d door for anyone that comes. dad said I should always walk around with hand sanitizer so that i give anyone that wants to carry baby. Its the right thing to do but nigerians pick offence over thing wey de suppose do

I avoided these most times by putting my baby in a moses basket which had a net and an all round zip so you could only look through the net of the basket to see the baby. Even on the christening day, she was there all day except when I wanted to brea.stfeed her and so contact was greatly minimized without offence to anybody. Luckily, the basket also had a handle with which you could carry her around without disturbing her.

OP, pls inform hubby you will have to talk to mama yourself and anytime she oversteps her boundary again, pls correct her gently and with all humility. Correct her as often as you need to and she will soon get the message that she is stretching her limits.

As for you sis-in-law, does she also visit very often? If not, pls tell your kids to go their room anytime she is around(minimise their contact) and she will also get the message she is acting like a witch.

Many women have not chopped half the shite my mother chopped. For years she endured with my dad and it wasn't only until about three years back my dad began to appreciate her.

She stuck with him through his rubbish, horrible times, emotional and verbal abuse but after twenty five long years, my dad became a changed man. He showered her with praises, good words, Money, anything she wanted before he passed on a month ago.

Maybe I learnt this patience from her but even me sef know sey I no reach her level. I wouldn't equate a woman with a dustbin ... even dustbin sef dey full but then you need an amazing amount of wisdom to tackle this marriage thing.

There will be trying times but if you can manage through it, it gets better, hopefully.

My dear, this is exactly why women should stop eating poo and saying she is doing so for the kids sake. On the contrary, it is actually teaching them wrong values. It becomes a norm for the kids and who then tend to accept the same treatment (or even worse ) or mete out same in their respective marriages. Whether you accept or not, from your comments, you seem to think it is the norm too. Not your fault though but trust me, a woman does not have to "lose" herself to be happy.

It is never okay to stay in an abusive marriage, the cycle continues with the kids and it even gets worse down the chain.

A woman is not an experiment, what if your dad never got round to appreciating your mother? Would she live all her life in misery just to be called a Mrs? And what's the joy if a woman suffer for 25 years, then her fully depreciated husband who has become feeble and needy now thinks it is the best time to start appreciating her and living like a true couple? Who wan carry liability?

@mamabigboy and mytestimony: you have received good responses to your questions but pls I beg you, apply great wisdom when telling them to stop ooo. People take great offense when told things like this especially when they mean well for the baby.

Apply sheabutter but even if you don't apply anything, basic hygiene will cure it. It's really nothing to worry about.

There are several videos of the surgery on YouTube. Watch it if you aren't too emotional, it doesn't last for more than 10 mins
