MiracleMum: I was told "not giving water after formula can cause constipation". The water comes after feed, so there's no way it will reduce their nutrients intake. It's fine if you want to give water but I didn't give water to my LOs and they never constipated. Their system worked fine with the formula I bought and I also adhered to the measurements religiously. There so much a baby's tummy can take, if water fills up that space, where will the formula stay? But like I said above, it's a controversial issue but talking from experience, I didn't give water until 6 months and my LOs never constipated. |

Nice tips @ onegai
Let me add this -
Obviously, Car seat is only necesary if there is a car, but if you bus, pls don't bother
Onesies and sleeping suits are quite uncomfortable in Naija, too much heat. Sleeveless body suits are perfect for naija weather, loose trousers can later be worn with it at night. Only buy them if the room will be kept cool all through the night.
Strollers and prams are definitely out of it...where is the road naa?
I could never use baby carriers in Naija, wrappers all the way!
Electric Sterilizers too are a waste from my experience. No light. Sterilizing tablets or liquid is better off. Then, I couldn't get descalers to buy anywhere so had to pack it up.
Travel cot with bassinet sure makes a lot of sense. Very economical and efficient

lovinam: See them una wan be figure 8. Lol! Here is the simple recipe to flat tummy Its a lemon/ ginger drink. Ingredients 1 lemon 1 ginger 1lime(optional) 1/2 cucumber(optional)
Cut the ginger to small pieces and put in a pot. Add 1litre of water to it and boil. Peel the lemon and add the peels to the pot. Boil for 5mins. pam09: Please sabi mamas, my baby is having boil-like rash on her skin. it doesn't irritate her though. it bursts on its own. Am worried cos I saw one first then two and now I don't know the number. please I don't know how or what to do about it. Congrats on ur LO. I am not sure how big these boils are but guessing they are baby rashes. They are common to most babies and usually goes off on its own. Most rashes and other skin issues that affect newborns do not need any special treatment. |

Get a crèche based on the recommendations of several people and not just based on how fine the place looks or the fees they charge. I also prefer one that is close to my office so it's easier to drop in unannounced. Some crèches are located in the same building as the residence of the owners and teachers. I detest that, it opens up the place to all sort of visitors and compromises the security of the children. I visited a crèche once and till I got to the children's classes, I wasn't stopped by anybody. Access into the building was just too easy. Another beautiful crèche I visited was undergoing some building expansions which was fine. But I noticed they had made the place very unsafe for children because there were nails and other sharp objects lying carelessly all over the compound yet children were in session. I pointed this out and surely, they started tidying the place but I had formed an opinion already. If they could be this careless with such obvious and dangerous items, i definitely couldn't trust them to take other simple but necessary precautions with my baby. Go for one that has got a CCTV - very key. Two more things - try and pick up your child before they close for the day. Usually, one person is made to stay back to care for kids whose parents come late, and trust me, that person is surely not smiling with your kid for making her go home late. God help you if your child needs attention at that point in time. Also, get friendly with the teachers. Sound them out. Do they really like working with kids or like the crèche? Or are they working there purely for economic reasons? And they honestly can't stand children ( Optional) As much as it is in your power, treat them well. xmas, vacations, teachers' day - buy gifts for them. From your child to them. Lastly, pray hard!!!!!(most important) |

SisterCaro: These comments got me laughing. Reminds me of a cousin that i work with. He used to like forming Mr Hardcore acting like he knew women inside out and no woman can fool him. All manner of things like that. Long story short he got his 2 women pregnant at the same time. The one the whole family knew had a miscarriage and the other girl no one knew of was introduced as his wife to be. Turns out wifey was double-dating him with another colleague but i never bothered telling him because i felt since he thought he was so smart he should have figured it out. Anyway now they are on kid number 2 and i still question the partenity of his first child. Matter of the story is what goes around comes around. Be careful of how you treat others because you will surely face consequences for it. God is not blind, he sees your heart and when its dark and poisoned and he gives to you according to what you have. Words on Marble |

Chillisauce: Just try eating the healthy lunch before your chips or soft drinks. With time the unhealthy ones will reduce. It doesn't come one day but you will get there.
Few days ago..everyone had cold in my household except me. Maybe because of the food and exercise. Even my girl was coughing straight into my face but her juju no work. I had to fortify myself with more juice smoothie I'll try. Maybe it's fasting and prayer that will solve the matter. There is love in sharing Chilli Haba, you should be willing to take the cough on her behalf sef |

Chillisauce: Why do you think so
At efemenaxy,,talk about fruits and vegetables. I stop always to.pick.up one thing or another in legume shops. I cant resist seeing the colors. Some end up getting bad. I think I'm getting obsessed . Our fridge is filled with my stuff but I had a breakthrough recently. I'm still celebrating. My princess ate a quarter of an apple yesterday. I'm so happy.
And I made the boli sauce. Very yummy. Used bleached palm oil for it. thanks.
Kimoni, are you still on shiken and ships? Join the healthy boat oh Chilli, make I no lie ehnn, I still eat it wella, na my everyday lunch be that I honestly tried taking something healthier last week, branched into Subway to have a healthy lunch but unfortunately, after my "healthy lunch", my legs refused to leave the place, i just sat down with the soft drinks and began taking cup after cup At that point I had to reconsider and went back to shicken and ships Abi na wetin man pikin go do now? Man must wack ke |

VictoriaBee: Offline? I don't know about your life.
Online? Nairaland? No woman keep you as an enemy but you did with numerous women from what i've seen since my "vickyyb" moniker. Reason being; -Some are married and living happily with their husband, and still a feminist e.g Cococandy, bukatyne. -We don't lick men ass like you do.
No one keep you as an enemy but you did, due to your senseless jealousy and buttlicking. You need to re-evaluate your life. Loll |
