The issues I gave in my quote refers to the 3 or 4 types of engines the genesis 2012-2014 are plagued with. I am actually in the market for one but I am taking my time to research and hopefully mid year I'd shoot my shot!

[s]Ecu learning is not a big deal, any technician in the radio department or laptop can fix it. But the issue is with parts and viability of the business. ECU is board with ICs and necessary components like heatsinks, diodes, resistors etc.

What I noticed is our technicians are now lazy they don't study the boards like before and trace circuits like those I know 20 years ago. Now nah to replace bad circuit nobody get time to do hard work and hard work used to pay back then[/s].

I observed that my odometer is static, my brake light and ABS goes on and off while driving, the MPH is not working ultimately. This happens after driving 10 to 15 minutes.

How do I correct this? One of the electrician I contacted said it has to do ABS module.

8 speed auto, prone to failures. Quite well documented.
The GDI engines in 2012-14 also need frequent decarbonization. It produces shoots and stains the rear bumpers. Then is the issue of price for oils. The transmission needs 10quarts of oil, engine needs 7-8 quarts of oils depending on the type of engine.
Shocks are expensive. The last time I checked, ₦300,000 for set of shocks.

Bro, the term SUV and truck may be used loosely to mean same thing based on their chassis and build. Heck, even some automotive car classification as well as some car manufacturers classifies SUVs as light trucks.

But you didn't mention if it compares to a sedan. A Toyota of same model is what you compare it to na. Same model could be year, engine displacement, body style etc. I base my comparison to year model.

I use a 2013 kia optima. car pulled up a P1326 with flashing check engine light and once that comes up RPM cannot go higher than 2000. if the error code is cleared, car works normal but the error code comes back in the morning after a 5mins drive. Please advice....

This, I assume is an American or EU Spec Kia Optima with the GDI engine. Your Engine is having a Knock Sensor Detection System showing excessive wear in the con rod, crankshaft, bearings, crankshaft journals or piston slap.


Check if the knock sensor harness has been or the sensor is bad, if all is okay, check ECM, if that's okay, e be like engine go come down sha.

Thanks once more, at the mechanic and they are checking as per everyone's suggestions and I hope this can be resolved, don't know if it was involved in a rear end impact got it a tokunbo three months ago, was making noise all over, I was told it was the absorbers, and they were all changed, only for the noise to remain at the rear.

Ask your mechanic to honestly tell you if it's been involved in a rear end collision
