misterjosh: All security outfits in this country are just fond of lying... like when the dss start carrying out random patrols... they definitely went where they weren't invited and received a very shocking welcome party.
The only truth that comes out of the mouth of the Nigerian Police is good morning
In the video below, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, Ahmed Abdulrahman, made a complete fool of himself. While briefing Pressmen on the clash between IPOB and the police that occured on Sunday which left several people dead, he said he got a distress call that IPOB were on the rampage, shooting sporadically and burning things. So he quickly organised Soldiers from the 82 Division, Airforce men, Police, SARS, Anti-kidnapping unit and the DSS then stormed the area where they came under heavy fire from IPOB and replied.
As this was going on, he learnt that what caused the problem was that the DSS were in the area for an operation then they were attacked and two DSS personel were kidnapped by IPOB. He said they stormed a house where 3 IPOB suspects kept the DSS hostage snd rescued one of them while arresting the 3 IPOB suspects, whom he paraded. He also said thst IPOB burnt an innocent passerby and hacked another to death with a machete. He said that IPOB killed 4 people
Drama however started when the 5 paraded IPOB suspects where questioned by the Press. The first guy said he does exercises in a field behind the school and usually does running. Abdulrahman kept interrupting the IPOB suspect and even tried to get him to admit that IPOB did weapons training, which the young man denied. Another suspect said he uses the field for martial arts training and self defence. Abdulrahman again interrupted the suspect and told him that he was doing self defence training so he can be strong and fight the Federal Government. The suspect said no. Abdulrahman even told the suspect that he snatched the weapon of the DSS, to which the suspect said he knows nothing about that. All 5 suspects claim that they ran in different directions when they heard the sound of gun shots and were arrested in their various hiding places.
If a Police Commissioner can descend so low as to be putting words in the mouth of suspects to get them to admit guilt in front of the Press, I fear what is happening in the Nigerian Police force as a whole. How can a senior officer like this be trying to frame someone right in front of journalists?
IPOB that everyone knows the dont carry arms is who the commissioner of Police organised SARS, Army, Police, Airforce, DSS and Anti-kidnapping unit for? Chei!
loopman: If Ipob are as animalistic as Boko haram, then they should pick up arms and stop all this threats of “we will pick up arms ooo”
BH didn’t do all these announcements
They dont pick up arms because they dont want descend to the level of Nigeria, they are better than that. The Nigerian way is to be carrying guns and killing unarmed people up and down just like DSS, the Nigerian Army, Boko haram, ISWAP, killer herdsmen and all the armed bandits roaming the North. So if some you are hoping that they will descend to that Nigerian level, IPOB are after a far better existence than that.
IamWonderful: According to the video I watch and multiple sources, IPOB were holding sticks in which they use to beat two policemen to death, what about the families of those that died if you are a situation where as you can say yourself or beaten to death, which one will you choose?
Even you would hold a stick and beat them to death if it had been your own unarmed brother who was shot to death for no just cause
I'm Igbo, and I confirm that Nnamdi Kanu is living rent free on some of our heads. IPoB stands outlawed, so any kind of activity from them is considered treasonous. Even if they are caught inside a chapel praying, they can be shot at and nothing will come out of it.
Those youths that died just wasted their lives for nothing. Continue supporting Nnamdi Kanu, while the fugitive lives large in UK.
Ndi ofeke!
So in your mind, it is treasonous for people to gather and pray? Dont you know that the proscription of IPOB is nothing but a court order? Can a court order be greater than the constitution? The constitution gives everyone freedom of movement and worship. Unarmed people are praying and your security forces leave all the armed bandits out there from Boko haram to killer herdsmen to go and shoot unarmed non violent people?
Common sense is a hard commodity to find these days
IamWonderful: Please don't misquote me, what I said is that most (not all) Boko Haram fighters were kidnapped and forced to join the group, and why I am against IPOB why will they engage in self-annihilation when IPOB have been proscribed and outlawed, they should another name or entity
Yeah, IPOB was procribed and declared a terrorist group, the only time in my life I ever heard that an unarmed group can be declared terrorists. That proscription does not deny their basic fundamental human rights to peaceful assembly. How can people still be shot in this day and age just for gathering somewhere? Proscription dies not give anyone the right to just go about shooting unarmed people
Admissionclass: ) we are not landlocked This is one of the major reasons why ipob thinks they need Southsouth minorities but that was in the past now Rivers can be dredged, we have seen how barges are now landing In onitsha river port even without dredging tankless of when it is dredged we have more than five rivers than can give us access to the sea especially river Niger which is an international water way.
2)we have enough land for agriculture I would like to make this clear having the South South minorities will not guarantee us food security and breaking away peacefully from Nigeria does not mean we would still not trade, business comes before emotions, but in other words if they refuse to trade with us we try outside or learn from Israel how they were able to convert their rocky, desert and infertile soil to a productive land they even export food .
Risk of war Sometimes last year some northern elites laid claim to the oil producing states in the Niger delta as conquered territory ,and that anyone who denies them right to the oil should be ready to fight them blood for blood This is Dan serious any attempt to break away with Niger delta might be too bloody and we are not ready to sacrifice for people who do not sympathize with us.
Foriegn exchange The fastest growing economies in Africa do not have one drop of oil in their land.we still even boast of one of The largest gas reserves In Africa in our 5 states alone.but I subscribe more to a manufacturing economy that gas it's even a good thing we dobt have oil .
Let's us not break away and form a small Nigeria
God bless Alaigbo
God bless biafra.
My brother, having all the Oil and coastline in the world will not ensure the development of a country, if it did, Nigeria would have been developed. Its all about vision and determination. Even if it were only the 5 South East states that becomes an independent country, trust the Igbo man, he can make something out of nothing. The examples of successful landlocked countries with no oil are there for all to see, even in Africa. Ethiopia was once a war torn country. Today, Ethiopia is booming. Ethiopia can almost import and export everything they need just by air power only. Ethiopian Air is the largest aircraft fleet in Africa despite being a landlocked country.
Go and see how far Botswana has gone with Agriculture alone despite being a landlocked country
It is only people who think small will be still be relying on Oil and coastline.
IamWonderful: You can compare Boko Haram and IPOB, although both are terrorist groups, IpoB members are self-made delusionists why most of the Boko Haram fighters are victims of coercion and threat, they don't wish to join but we're forced, that is why US joined their rehabilitation program, why IPOB is self-inflicted delusion
Oh I see. So someone forced Boko haram members to take up guns and kill people?
But IPOB that doesnt have catapult are self delusionists because they want an independent country of their own away from your failed Nigeria?
Nigerians are really funny. This is the only country where armed killers are shown sympathy while unarmed people are declared terrorists.
MiztaSpark: Simple instruction is hard to obey. No one said you should not gather and do your activities. Must it be under the name IPOB that they have been warned not to keep using? I support the struggle for Biafra and I condemn the killing entirely but then this is something that would have been easily avoided instead of being stubborn and at the end lives have been lost. They are gone and no matter the next action that is taken, it will never bring them back to life again.
Stop talking like a fool. Other groups are gathering under the name of AK47, they are killing, raping and burning. Did you see DSS and Police mobilising to go and save anyone? But if IPOB gathers peacefully, the name they gathered under will suddenly assume the greatest priority? So it is name that is important but not actions? All the armed groups out there killing Nigerians daily from Boko Haram to killer herdsmen to ISWAP, your security agents are more interested in the name non violent people used in gathering?
favor914: Provoke igbos? Chest beaters, Ojukwu ran away, so did Nnenna Kanu.
But they both stood up for something before they ran away. Most Nigerians dont stand up for anything talkless of even getting to the stage of running away, thats why their country is a mess.
They said the greatest form of madness is doing the same thing and expecting different result.
Some questions the foolish kanu followers should ask
1) Whats the plan to get Biafra? Is it by making noise in radio and insulting people?
2) The british are enemies of Biafra and igbos, why is kanu and his family british? Did they run to our oppressors for refuge?
3) Where are the people they said were representing us in the US parliament? Where is the woman they said was representing biafra?
4) What happened to the news of Israel coming to help bring Biafra?
5) how much has been raised so far? What has been done with the money?
6) if Nnamdi kanu had access to 20 million which he instructed to be released to Asari dokubo as he claims, how much more money is in his posession now?
7) how did he leave Nigeria without his followers knowing, but orji uzo kalu broke the news? Could it be that he left with government arrangements?
Any right thinking person will know that Nnamdi Kanu is not interested in Biafra but the funds involved. All the pictures, interviews etc are all means of decieving gullible followers.
It never was about Nnamdi Kanu, its always been about those who are tired of one Nigeria
No fewer than 10 persons were killed on Sunday in Emene, in the Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, when policemen, operatives of the Department of State Services and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra clashed.
The clash threw Emene and its environs into confusion and disrupted church services as worshippers ran helter-skelter to escape being caught in the crossfire.
It was gathered that trouble started around 7am when some DSS operatives and policemen stormed Practicing School Emene, where the members of IPOB were observing their Jewish prayers, and started to arrest them.
Eyewitnesses said attempt by IPOB members to resist the arrest led to the shooting, during which one IPOB members was initially killed and others injured.
It was gathered that seeing one of them in a pool of blood, other IPOB members attacked the security operatives and killed two policemen and two DSS operatives.
A reinforcement was said to have been called and over a dozen patrol vans loaded with armed security agents, comprising police, soldiers and DSS, arrived at the scene and faced the Biafran agitators, killing about five of them.
It was gathered that over 30 members of IPOB were subsequently arrested.
When one of our correspondents visited the area, sound of gunshots and teargas fumes filled the air.
One of our correspondents counted five dead bodies with one burnt beyond recognition on the road.
The police and the DSS were said to have taken the bodies of their men to the morgue.
A policeman, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said, “When my team arrived, the IPOB members had taken over the street and making bonfires to prevent security men from coming into the venue of their prayer.”
Four persons died in the confrontation – Police
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, said the police arrested five IPOB members, while four persons were killed.
The commissioner, who spoke on the telephone said, “It was a DSS operation; it was when it turned bloody and IPOB seized their men that they sought our intervention.
“When my men arrived at Emene, they came under heavy fire from the miscreants. So they have to take cover and replied and when they saw that the problem was too much, they called for reinforcement, then the DSS also called the military.
“So it was an operation to rescue DSS operatives and at the end, I arrested five; then two corpses. They killed two people and they burnt one other alive.
“They killed one other person whose identity was not known. The injured are receiving treatment, including the IPOB members that we arrested.
“Maybe other members of IPOB were with DSS because they also made arrest and military also effected arrest also.”
Police killed 21 members, arrested 47 – IPOB
Meanwhile, the Media and Public Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, on Sunday in a statement in Anambra State said the group would avenge the killing of its members in Enugu.
The group said, “Today (Sunday), the Nigerian security personnel stormed IPOB meeting ground in Enugu and started shooting sporadically which consumed the lives of 21 members and 47 arrested for no just cause or provocation.
“Those responsible for this barbaric killing in Enugu today must pay for their actions against IPOB at the appropriate time. It is laughable for the DSS to be claiming that they lost five personnel in the hands of unarmed and peaceful people. It is clear to all that IPOB doesn’t carry arm.”
The group warned that keeping quiet and following the rule of law should not be misconstrued as weakness on its part.
It added, “We are warning and asking the Nigerian government and its security operatives to stop this atrocity. Why have they refused to confront Fulani terrorist herdsmen, Boko Haram terrorists, Ansaru group, Fulani bandits, ISIS and other groups ravaging the country and busy killing innocent and unarmed citizens of IPOB?”
IPOB members attack DSS patrol team, kill two operatives
The Department of State Services said two of its men died on Sunday when a patrol team was attacked by IPOB members.
The service did not provide details of the attack but said a comprehensive investigation had commenced into the incident.
The DSS Public Relations Officer, Dr Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a statement titled, ‘Unprovoked violent attack on DSS patrol team in Enugu.’
It stated, “The DSS wishes to inform the public that its patrol team was, today (Sunday), attacked in Emene, Enugu State by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.
“The service lost two personnel in what was clearly an unprovoked violent attack launched by IPOB on the team.”
The secret police condoled with the families of the departed officers and also prayed for the repose of their souls.
It explained that all measures had been put in place to ensure that their killers and everyone involved in the dastardly act were promptly apprehended and brought to justice.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to work with other security agencies to maintain public safety and order.
It urged law-abiding citizens and residents to go about their normal businesses without fear.
IamWonderful: But despite rejection by Aniomas and ikwerrr, south east is still doing attachment by force
All of us are already attached by force in Nigeria. At least, the Biafran agitators want referendum where everyone can choose where they want to belong. This is far better than the "attach by force system" called "one Nigeria"
fof1: U CAN WRITE ANYTHING U LIKE,DEFEND UR CO-TRAVELLERS IN D GAME. BUT U ARE NOT ON GROUND. THEY INSTIGATED D BROWL EVEN...
This is not about defending anyone, this is about analysing what the Police said to know it adds up. It doesn't add up. If you were armed, would you be going to learn martial arts?
The Police are telling you that IPOB were armed and they went with their guns to a residential area to learn martial arts in a secondary school on a Sunday that everyone will be home? You dont see anything wrong with that story?
Do you think that Boko haram would leave all the forest in Sambisa that will shield them from attack and take their guns with them to Kaduna city to learn martial in a secondary school there? On a weekend that everyone will be in the neighbourhood to see them?
This story is so embarrassing for those of us who live in Enugu. I would have laughed had it been it is not human beings that are being murdered by the evil Nigerian security forces
I know Emene, the area this incident happened, very well. Its a densely populated area close to the outskirts of Enugu on the North side.
Why would IPOB go for martial arts training in a densely populated area with arms on Sunday when people are home? There are many bushes and villages not far from Emene that IPOB could have gone for such training that would have shielded them from the eyes of the public and the authorities and offered better protection. Yet the authorities want people to believe that IPOB went to a well populated residential area with arms to embark on martial arts training on a Sunday when everyone will be at home?
Its almost like saying that Boko Haram will take their guns and go to a heavily populated area like Tudun Wada in Kaduna to go and learn martial arts in a secondary schoo there. Is that not laughable?
The Nigerian Police Force cant even put up a well structured lie
House of madness. People are having meeting, you rush there and open fire, shooting indiscriminately in a residential area in the name of dispersing people
But 2 years ago, armed herdsmen slaughtered a woman on her farm in Nchatancha, not too far from the same Emene where this incident occurred. Nobody saw the security forces that day
