Nbotee:The story makes no sense at all |
In 2017, the federal government proscribed IPOB and declared it a terrorist group. The USA, the EU, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the international community all denounced and disagreed with the labelling of IPOB as a terrorist group. This left the federal government looking rather foolish. Minister for information, Lai Mohammed, travelled to London where he was interviewed by the BBC and reiterated that IPOB was a terrorist group. The person who interviewed him told him that there was no such thing as an unarmed terrorist group. Lai Mohammed then travelled to Washington D.C where he wrote an embarrassing article in the Washington Post Newspaper. He was trying tell America that IPOB is a terrorist group based on words and utterances of IPOB. He was rebuffed and IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has become a regular visitor to Washington, even standing a few meters from President Trump at Trump rallies. Ever since, the authorities have tried to paint IPOB as an armed violent group so as to justify its proscription. Unfortunately for the authorities, their lies simply makes no sense, even to a child in primary school. 1) The authorities keep saying that IPOB are armed, but how come it is only the authorities that have seen IPOB armed? We have all seen Boko haram armed, we have all seen pictures of Niger Delta militants armed, we have all seen armed herdsmen with their AK47. Why is it that it is only the authorities that have seen armed IPOB? Is that the general public becomes blind when it comes to IPOB? 2) Why is is that every time IPOB is accused of violence, it is a clash with the authorities? Boko does not wait until they clash with the authorities before the unleash violence, killer herdsmen do not wait until they meet the authorities to unleash violence. Which terrorist organisation only waits until they clash with the authorities before they become violent? If anything, terror groups usually strike when the authorities are not there. 3)You will always see the bodies of the IPOB members killed but you will never see the bodies of those the authorities claim IPOB killed. I remember in 2018 when the Nigerian Police circulated pictures of a Police man they claimed IPOB killed and left for dead in a gutter, only for pictures of the same Policeman to surface online of him walking away. The authorities will claim that IPOB killed their members but you will not see any body and hardly will you get a name. And even if you get a name and body, the person will be quickly buried without autopsy to ascertain cause of death 4) The story the authorities weave around IPOB/security forces clash is usually fantastic. It usually starts off that the authorities were going about their lawful activities, usually on patrol, when IPOB will suddenly attacked them with no provocation. The Nigerian Army even claimed in 2017 that IPOB blocked the road and attacked them with sticks and stones(how anyone can believe that civilians with just sticks and stone would attack heavily armed Soldiers is beyond me). How would IPOB know where and when the authorities are on patrol? What could IPOB possibly gain by attacking the authorities? It would make far more sense for IPOB to go about killing people and destroying Federal government structures like other terror groups do. Why would they be going after those on patrol to exchange bullets when there are easy soft targets out there? 5) Yesterday's bloodbath in Emene Enugu was avoidable, and it is clear from the Police and DSS statements that both agencies are lying against IPOB. What they claim is that armed IPOB, numbering over 500, gathered at a school in Emene on a Sunday morning to learn martial arts. The DSS went there to disperse them and this led to an altercation that involved calling for reinforcements and a gun battle that left people dead on either side. This is big lie for anyone who knows Emene. The area is close to the outskirts of Enugu and is densely populated. If armed IPOB wanted to learn martial arts, there are several forest and bushes a few miles from Emene where they could have easily gone to for that away from the eyes of the public and the authorities and much better protection. But what the authorities want gullible people to believe is that IPOB took guns and arms to a school, in a densely populated area on a Sunday morning when everyone would be at home? How is that possible? Why would any armed organisation expose its self in such manner? It makes no sense All of these are lies. Unsrmed peaceful IPOB was having a meeting in the school, the authorities arrived and opened fire in their usual callous way. We all know thats what happened |
Golan007:Of course, but IPOB is not the military. Is it really practical that someone who is already armed would go to a School, in a densely populated area like Emene, on a Sunday morning, to go and learn martial arts? That is ridiculous If IPOB wanted to learn martial arts, there are many bushes and forest on the outskirts of Enugu they could do that, away from eyes of the public and the authorities and with many escape routes for safety What kind of group would take guns to densely populated area to learn martial arts on a Sunday that everyone is at home? Makes no sense whatsoever |
Does this statement make any sense? What the authorities want stupid people to believe is that over 500 IPOB were having a meeting in a school where they are to be trained in martial arts? Lol? Why would anyone be training in martial arts if they are already armed? Then you claim that armed IPOB abducted a DSS personnel then you arrived to engage in a shoot out with them and rescued the DSS personnel? If this was the speed at which Nigerian Police react, there would be no killer herdsmen in Nigeria Meanwhile, before you arrived at the scene, IPOB had killed two people for no reason but didnt kill the DSS person you rescued? The lies by the Police and DSS are just too much |
AniOmaa:So on a Sunday morning when everyone is at home, in a densely populated area like Emene, is when and where IPOB decided to conduct a combat drill? All the bushes and forests in outskirts of Enugu they could do that in secret and safely, it is a densely populated area they chose to do that, on a Sunday that people are at home? Does this make any sense to you? |
donttouchme:This is the first time Im learning that DSS goes on patrol |
Has anyone ever noticed that whenever there clash between IPOB and the authorities, the narrative of they authorities is "we were going on patrol when we were attacked by IPOB" Every time, the same story. This is what they said in 2017 when the Army declared IPOB a terrorist organisation. They said that they were on lawful patrol when IPOB descended on them. The same narrative was used by the Police last year when there was a clash with IPOB law9, Ifeanyi Ejiofor. Now the DSS have come up with a similar story. But one has only to think of this narrative for 5 minutes to see that it is the authorities that are lying. IPOB is not a group known to bare arms and there is very little record of them being violent. But what the authorities want people to believe is that when they are on patrol, IPOB will attack them? How would IPOB know they are on patrol and where to wait for them? What could IPOB possibly gain by attacking the security forces? If IPOB actually wanted to take up arms and fight Nigeria in the name of Biafra, why would they only be attacking the authorities when they are on patrol? Does that make any sense? Why would IPOB only be attacking when yhe authorities are armed, on patrol and alert? Wouldn't it make more sense for IPOB to attack when the authorities are not alert just like Boko haram does? Which terrorist group in the world only waits until the authorities go on patrol before they attack? Everybody knows the truth. IPOB is an unarmed group and the authorities are simply killing them for that reason. The DSS wabts us to believe that they were 9n patrol on a Sunday morning in Emene Enugu? Since when did the DSS start going patrol like Police? Patrol of what? This is how the Army claimed in 2017 that they were on patrol and IPOB blocked the road and attacked them with sticks and stones. Which civilian would see a platoon of Soldiers moving guns and tanks then decide to block their way and attack them with sticks? Not even someone high on drugs would do that. They are just killing unarmed people and using stupid cover stories to hide it |
Rossikk:When Jonathan was in power, Nnamdi Kanu was still building IPOB up, but that is not to say that there was no protest against Jonathan. MASSOB was the main Biafran movement at the time and MASSOB have been protesting way back to even Obasanjos tenure. So it is wrong to say there was no protest during Jonathans time |
obowo69:Boko haram started of as an unarmed group led by Yusuf Mohamed. Then the security forces invaded his enclave, killed many of his members, captured him alive, and publicly executed him. What happend after? Shekau took over and the surviving members took up arms. Nigeria has been fighting them for almost 10 years at the cost of billions of Naira, over 200,000 people dead and millions in IDP camps But Nigeria learnt nothing |
Igboid:Let me put this in lay mans terms, hopefully you will understand. Nigeria is not yet political mature for what you are asking IPOB to do. As bad as Nigerian politics is, where the high and mighty use incumbency, power, money, intimidation, fear and even terrorism to win elections, what level playing ground has IPOB got? But lets just assume that IPOB managed to use whatever support they have to navigate the explosive minefield called Nigerian politics, and win most of the elective positions in the areas they want to break away from Nigeria, mainly the South East, then what? Those elected IPOB sponsored winners will have to swear an oath of allegiance to preserve the unity of Nigeria, the very thing IPOB is against, before they can assume office. Not only that, after assuming office, if any of them starts talking about Biafra or seperation, after they have sworn allegiance to Nigeria, they can be easily removed. Just the fact that a Governor opens his mouth to support Biafra is enough grounds for the President of Nigeria to use "secession" as an excuse to declare state of emergency in that Governors state, remove him, and replace him with a "one Nigerianist". The same goes for the rest of those who are elected but sympathise with Biafra, they will all be removed for violating the oath they took to preserve the unity of Nigeria. The only thing IPOB can do is to keep agitating for a peaceful exit from Nigeria, through a referendum, and show both Nigeria and the international community that they have support. The referendum may not be achieved any time soon, it may not be achieved for many years to come, but the alternative is that Igbos remain part of a failed country that is ever becoming a haven for violent fundamentalists such as Boko haram and killer herdsmen who will decimate the future generation. Without IPOB, there is simply nothing on the ground but eternal slavery to the powers that be, and those powers are determined to be forever. |
obowo69:I have to agree with you. So far, Nnamdi Kanu has not asked IPOB to take up arms and he leads an unarmed group. But for a long time, IPOB has had to endure hundreds of its its members being murdered by the Nigerian security forces, just because they are unarmed. Amnesty International report on the hundreds of unarmed IPOB members that have been killed by the Nigerian Army is online for all to read. How long will unarmed people be killed before they take up arms to defend themselves? Usually not too long. The popular saying goes: " Those who make peaceful agitation impossible, make violent agitation inevitable" |
helinues:Yes IPOB is proscribed, but if they do garther, peacefully, is that enough for the security forces to open fire on unarmed people? Is it not the job of the security forces to keep the peace? What kind of peace are the security forces keeping if they arrive at a venue, where there is no violence, to start shooting unarmed people? In a sane country, even if a group is proscribed, the security forces will only use maximum force as last resort. How can anyone justify the shooting of unarmed people with live ammunition when other things like tear gas, rubber bullets or even shooting up in the air, to disperse them? Does it mean that life means nothing? Did the security forces even consider what stray bullets could do? Had killer herdsmen attacked Emene, where this incident happened, would the security forces have arrived with the sane speed to open fire? No, not one killer herdsmen has ever been killed. Shooting and killing unarmed people in a democracy by armed forces that are paid to protect life |
sonnie10:You can believe pictures because nobody lays in a pool of their own blood for nothing |
Many Nigerians are evil minded. They see their security forces killing unarmed people in a democracy and they keep quiet. How can any sane person support the shooting of unarmed people? Some Nigerians see that injustice and look the other way, some even support it. They do not know that the injustice you support today, could be the injustice that will be visited on you tomorrow |
Does anyone believe that the DSS was on a "patrol" on a Sunday morning? |
Godons1:You have a brain dont you? You actually believe that IPOB went to a church and advised people to leave because they want to exchange fire with Soldiers? A group that is not known bare arms or kill people, went with arms to an area where Nigerian Soldiers will be coming and informed people to leave because they were going to fight Soldiers? What sort of armed group would be telling people that they will fight Nigerian Soldiers knowing fully well that any of the people can call the Army to tell them of IPOB plans? Theres some stories you will hear and you wonder if Nigerians have brains. IPOB was armed and wanted to fight Nigerian Soldiers but informed people in a Church, any of which could have picked up his phone and informed 82 division, which is not that far from Emene where it all happened, of IPOB's plans? Lol |
loneprof:You actually believe that armed Policemen went somewhere and unarmed people killed one of them? An unarmed organisation that is not known for killing people grabbed an armed Policeman and killed him in front of his armed colleagues?Does that make any sense? The picture of those that were killed, does it look like Policemen? |
I dont know what kind of country Nigeria is where the security forces go to a place where unsrmed people are having meeting and start killing people |
loneprof:Did you see the body of any policeman or do you believe anything you read? |
sammysneh:But it is your security forces who are out killing unarmed people like Boko haram and you are calling Kanu. |
muykem:Yeah, even America that said IPOB is not a terrorist group. You think that America didnt look at the dictionary? Or may be it is only the Nigerian government that knows what a terrorist group is. |
Admissionclass:The only Igbo leader there ever was, was Ojukwu. The rest of these charlatans who parade themselves as leaders are just there for there pockets. Unarmed people are being shot and killed while they look the other way |
QuotaSystem:A terrorist organisation that carries sticks? If a group is carrying sticks, it is no terrorist organisation. No terrorist organisation carries stick, they carry guns |
helinues:But it is your security forces that are the ones shooting and killing unarmed people. Is it it the duty of your security forces to just go about killing unarmed people? We have have several groups in Nigeria that are armed and killing people such as Boko haram, killer herdsmen, ISWAP and Niger Delta militants. But you security forces are busy shooting and killing people who only have sticks. Which civilised country shoots its own citizens for holding sticks? Terrible |
QuotaSystem:When will your security forces turn their guns on armed groups like killer herdsmen and boko haram rather than unarmed IPOB? |
All the killer herdsmen out there, all the Boko haram out there killing people, all the armed bandits out there murdering people. But the security agents are far more interested in attacking unarmed people having a meeting What a disgrace |
muykem:They were created to kill terrorists? Which terrorist group do you know in the whole world that are unarmed? What will such a group be using to terrorise people? Even America and the international community have told 5ye clueless Nigerian government that IPOB is not a terrorist group. Nigerians can be truly stupid. The whole world knows that the minimum requirement for a group to be even begin to be considered a terrorist organisation is they must be armed. Only a very clueless government will take an unarmed group to be terrorists. The worst is that killer herdsmen who are armed and killing thousands of Nigerians every year are not considered terrorists, not one of them has ever been killed. But if unarmed IPOB members go somewhere to worship god, all the security forces will land there to open fire What a disgrace |
Officialgarri:But it is your Police doing the killing? Was the Nigerian Police created to go about killing unarmed people? |
The Police just went to where people were worshipping their God and opened fire on innocent people |
Every time the security forces are involved in IPOB matter, there must be violence, shooting and killings. When the security forces are not there, everything will be violence free All the security forces know is to cause violence and kill unarmed people |
Thats all the security forces of Nigeria are good at, the shooting and killing of unarmed people |

Can an Igbo police officer go to the North and kill an innocent fulani man without their leaders interfering?
