Unfortunately Mr Acting President u happen to be a young gun with all the credentials including a Phd but for some strange reason you are excluded from running. What a country. is that how to harmonise our best talent. ![]() |
Jonathan, forget the threat of the Northern senatorial caucus, do away with OBJ, forget the establisment. Mr Acting President be your own man, sack all the current ministers and appoint your own men. What is the point of u being th Command In Cheif of the armed forces and you cannot even sack minister's that are out of tune with reality on the ground, not only some of them clearly does not see u as their bosses, insubordination is rife and openly done to the full glare and amusement of the ever wacting public. It would appear some minister's are more powerful than the CinC. ( only in Nigeria if this where to happen abroad I would say because you have the wrong skin colour but damn it you are a true son of the soil ) are Southern CinC less than the Northern ones ( It is times like this that one tend to appreciate the rascality of OBJ ) ![]() Since you cannot sack erring ministers changing the seige military command structure in and around Abuja would be a no go area for u, the composition of the personal in around the biggest Barracks in the country does not reflect the tribal representation of the country. I thought I read somewher that the recruitment procedure into the officers cadet is done on an equal reprensentation of all 36 state of the country. To now have Officers from Kano / Katsina region just 2 states out of 36 states manning those important barracks speaks more than volume. I just hope all is well ![]() Thirdly, Mr acting President you might be telling yourself I am only here for 15 months and dont really want to drag or bogg myself down by tribal issues in the army or erring ministers, I have a job to do and my people in the Niger Delta are hoping I complete some major projects for them b4 I leave office. I will give u some suggestions : 1. Lagos -Benin expressway, I read somewhere, I think it was a Senator from Edo state that said it " it is faster to travel to london from lagos than travel to Benin. That road is a degrace and should be fixed as a matter of urgency. 2. East-West Road would create a lot of employment in the Delta region and is a road worthy of finnishing off b4 the end of your term. 3. Coastal Road would be the most ambitious road project in Africa today, it would take extreme ingenity to pull this off, the road would have according to soucres between 12 to 15 long bridges on large water masses. This road May well being a pipe dream for now but if u pull it off then you can be rest assured u have the votes of both the SS,SE, and SW. Southerners would speak with one voice once again, a feat not repeated since the 1914 almagamation of Southern Protectorate of Nigeria with Northern Protectorate of Nigeria. 4. The Coastal road from Calabar to Lagos was part of an ambitious road network drawn up during the Muritala / OBJ regime. It is an integral part of a huge ring road to built around Nigeria. The Coastal Road on getting to lagos would connect to the Lagos - Badary expressway and then head Northwards just by the western borders of Nigeria to Sokoto some 1000 miles away. The Road would go from Sokoto to Maiduguri through Nigeria's NW, NC, NE borders. There would be arteries from these roads to major cities like kano, Maiduguri. From Maiduguri the road would come down through Nigeria's Eastern borders to Yola then down to Obudu in CR finally joining the Coastal Road in Calabar. This is an ambitious project I dont see it happening for another 100 years but then I am not a mind reader u mind be intrested in this road in order to appease the NW States of Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara State by santcioning the Badagry - Sokoto road part of this project. That could be vote winner for u and the North might consider wavering their right to the Presidency if this road comes to fruition. Last but not the least Choose the best Northerner as your VP if u are not running. I dont expect u to run, unless of course some of those mouth watering projects mentioned above are up and running. The world in general is going for younger Candidates, Britain would soon be ruled by men who are 42 and 39 years old, Obama is only 47 years old. I would suggest the El-Rufai's and Ribadu's are as good as any of the older guys throwing their hats in the ring. Give the young generation a chance they have never being giving b4. One thing I don't understand about Nigerians is we can spend all the money in the world training our kids, BSC,MSC,Phd yet when the kid comes home and tells his dad let me run your company, we say no, u are a small boy what do u know about running a Company or running a Goverment funny enough all tribes in Nigeria are guilty of this rather strange behaviour. It is time the money spent on those youths come to fruition pass the buck to the younger generation Mr acting President and u would have made a lot of people's Day. Some good candidates within the PDP El-Rufai / Duke Ribadu /Soludo El-Rufai / Soludo Ribadu / Duke Lamido Sanusi - current CBN Governor might be a dark horse, he has a no nonsense atitude towards excessive gluttony. I must say I was impress by his " some of those bank cheifs should be tied to a stake and shot". I am sure there are more out their. |
And when Yaradua returns a huge MJ concert would be held in Abuja, one thing I know is, I aint going to be there, ![]() |
It's high time our Justices began to be reasonable and realistic in jury awards. Where does he expect the policeman to get 10 million? Same thing applies to the judge that says Rear Admiral Arogundade should pay N100million to the battered lady. N2 million should be okay in teh case of the Naval officer and something like N200,000 in the case of the police constable. These sums are just too outrageous. We are not talking about Shell or Chevron here. In advance countries the various departments, Police, Hospital, or any other Government Department actually budget for compensation expenses which would be paid by the tax payer. Those 2 Judgments are against the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Police Force indirectly, although the letter of the Judgement says the Navy rating and the Police Constable the liability eventually ends up with their employers, of course we all know the Ratings and the Constable cannot pay the amount. Year on Year the Bosses of such organisation are expected to review their compensation expenses, if it keeps on going up then it simply means nothing is being done to curb this horrible behaviour, in such circumstances the bosses of such organisation might end up losing their Jobs. The implication of such action would be that the bosses are not doing anything to curb this menace to society. |
You Dare Not - Northern Reps Threaten Jonathan Over Ministers, The Problem is if the mandate (Presidential Mandate) is not yours from the beginning it is very difficult to sack anybody except for really outwardly and outright corruption which cannot be denied. It would take a foolish minister to be caught in such an inescapable web. Having said that, the Kitchen Cabinet or whoever they are could easily be done for treason, saboteur, lying, and subversive activities that could lead to the premature demise of our young and fragile democracy if found that they have be deceiving the nation all along. This offence is stackable but then the acting President is also culpable in the web of lies and deceit that has pervaded the country since November 23. He was purported to have said that he spoke to the President a few times, well the reports we are getting now from the wards seems to be at variance to what the acting President said, it would mean if the acting President where to revisit and summarily deal or sack members of the Kitchen Cabinet, it goes without saying that such punishment must also be ascribed to the acting President himself as the FEC as a body were also guilty of the deceiving the whole nation. |
Does this loony know the boundaries of Rivers and Bayelsa States talk less of knowing where Igbo land meets Ijo and Ibibio lands respectively? What a waste of Internet bandwidth. Even toward the end of 1969 when Biafran forces of 60, 63, 68 and 52 Brigades were pushing deep into Port Harcourt environs, there were no reprisals because there is no need for such actions as the indigenes of these areas were Biafrans. First and foremost I dont trade insults on internet forums, that sets me high above most of the hooligans on this forum, back to your point that Biafra troops were welcomed in PortHarcourt, that was because the cleansing exercise around PH was already completed. Do u expect your kiths and kinsmen to welcome u " with a volley of bullets " think man b4 you type nonesense. Secondly the Igbos have this obscene penchant of claiming everything east of R. Niger as Igbo land, there is a thread prsently on NL were a convoluted and confused individual claims that the VP Jonathan Goodluck is Igbo. If that is not a classical case of obsession over other peoples property, land and acenstral holdings. What else could be further from the truth. Do u silly Igbo bigots seriously expect a sitting President to refute such unintelligible and crass talk. |
Is it modern history or 'medieval' history this thread is about? You're a Yoruba criticisng Igbo expansion policies, talk about pot calling kettle dudu. The fact is Ojukwu is as culpable as Gowon, hence no winner no vanquish. What I hate is at the slightest irritation or mention of the war the Igbo’s love playing the victim card. They have forgotten that the tribes in the swamps where also at the receiving end of Ojukwu’s tirade and lunatic salvos, these tribes did not fear any better than Igbo’s who where at the receiving end of Nigerian troops. |
If you real think that you are true son of your father, I would want you to educate us on the massacre perpetrated on the eastern region of Nigerian ethnic minorities by the leaders of Biafra as you had alleged in your post. I guess you know that the leadership of Biafra was stacked with individuals from the minority ethnic groups of defunct eastern region of Nigeria. Your rather unbalanced and shifty C in C when the tide of his un-planned, un-thoughtful and untimely military jamboree became sour, he turned his anger in disgust at the tribes in the creeks. It was not uncommon to see men, women and young boys burnt alive with tyres round their necks accused of being saboteurs of the war effort. A covert ethnic cleansing policy was fully operational then, the evidence abounds today in present day Rivers and Bayelsa State where Igbo villages have sprung up in areas that where once a sea of Ijaws and Ibibio’s villages. The ethnic composition of these areas bears no semblance to what it was in the 17th and 18th century. |
Please do not reduce this thread to the level of elementary school social studies of yesteryear. This thread is dealing with Nigeria, northern, western, mid-western and eastern regions of 1960 era. I have zero patience for idiotic political nomenclatures such as Niger Delta and south-south coined because of wholesome greed for crude oil. Have you questioned your dilapidated consciousness why there are no coinages such as north-north, west-west and east-east in Nigeria? I sense the same laissez fair attitude in your right up towards the lesser igbo tribes in the swamps, your views are similar if not more radical than those of your voyeuristic, sadistic, and absconding vagabond CinC called Ojukwu. Thank God u where not born or maybe u were a kid during the pogroms of this lesser Igbos, you would have done a better job than the uneducated rascals that were around then. |
Ojukwu is guilty of dragging the rather docile people of the delta into an unjust adventurism, I am sure he has had the fun he craves to the detriment of the poor souls wasted in an igbo show of unwanted and unwarranted bravado in the face of clear and definate defeat and humilation. Having exhausted his fathers funds and that of the eastern region, this gentleman if I can be excused from using such high accolade on a butcher who saw the degredation and annihilation of another human being simply because they are from a lesser tribe as a voyeurism worthy of exploring. His stance during the 3 years war against Nigeria cannot be too far off from those of Joseph Goebel of the famed SS who explored the weakness and meekness of the jews even in the face of defeat as a cause worthy of pursueing, sodomy, dehumanising treatment of the lesser igbos was rapant and rife so was summarily excution, the earlier the sons and daughters of these abuse tribes raise their voices the better it would be for Nigeria, invariably that woud bring a closure to this dark history of our past. |
Good night all. Oh boy are u in Austrialia that is night at this time |
Is mikeansy- Nuhu Ribadu, let us know oh ![]() |
It is clear this thread is a counter to this one. - "Yaradua getting better, drank kunu with Turai- Bello Mohammed" The Propaganda war has started between the house of Yaradua and the rest of us. |
Ojukwu should be jailed for cowardice and desertion, the first individual that would be jailed for such act in Nigeria. He did not only plundered the wealth of his wealthy father he also plundered the wealth of the Ijaws, the Efiks, the Ibibios, the Kalabaris, and innocent Igbos as the sole custodian of the old Eastern region treasury. To embark on what can only be ascribed as a gross misadventure and voyeurism while in power whilst at the same time toying with the life’s and demeanours of innocent Nigerians is not an offence that should be taking lightly, it is an offence that should be revisited and pursued with renewed vigour by innocent Efiks, Ibibios and Ijaws who lost their parents in this dastardly act |
Woman why posting in bold pinkish colour, seems u have too much energy running in your veins, have u being shagged lately ? , I would recommend it to any woman and some men with their wacky views like yours, it calms both your nerves, your utterances, and your general wellbeing including shaking hands syndrome. ( I guess this is a mis-type)After releiving yourself I would suggest u revisit what u typed, I am sure u will readily agree with me it was done in haste with a lot adrenalin running riot. Invariably u would thank me for my suggestion |
These kind of houses full for VI,Ikoyi and lekki. It not new Fine Country are an English company, you can almost be guaranteed that the quality of work and the finishing would be top notched unlike most of those new built in Lagos. |
Some people would rather put a vegetative Yaradua in Aso Rock whilst they run the country themselves, insisting and implying that the directives are from the Presidency. Imagine a house wife, and a group of un-elected special advisers running this country, are these people sick or mad to think a society as sophisticated as Nigeria would continue to turn a blind eye at such atrocity, for how long do they think they can get away with murder, cold blooded murder. These hoodlums holding the country to ransom must be grabbed and hauled into Jail for treason and subversiveness no matter how high and mighty they might be. The treasury of the Nigeria state has suddenly become their families’ piggy bank. Who is going to pay for the air ambulance that would clearly ferry a very sick man from the comfort of his hospital ward in Saudi Arabia to the mosquito infested corridors of power just to prove a point. The Bauchi State legislatures should start impeachment proceedings against Yuguda, I doubt if that man has sat for a day and do the job he was elected for. Who is paying for his 1st class travel all over the world, I sincerely hope the expenses is not coming out of in Bauchi State’s coffers. |
CONSTRUCTION sector giants, Cappa & DAlberto Plc, has launched a N6 billion housing project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Christened 'Maitama Heights' estate, the project is scheduled for delivery within the second quarter of this year, as work on site is currently put at 80 per cent. Sitting on 1.3 hectares of land, the project will comprise one, two, three, and four-bedroom housing units, as well as town houses - detached buildings - which all come with private parking, servant quarters and balconies. The project, which will also have, designer gourmet kitchens, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness facility, is located close to Chic Restaurants, a few minutes' drive away from the city's financial centre and government offices. Other amenities include a swimming pool, splash pool, three elevators, residents' private party room, video monitored access gate, and signature finger landscaping. A contemporary show-house would be operational throughout the week, according to the firm Messrs Fine & Country International Realty, which has been picked to market the estate. |
I'm all for an Igbo president this time, with Fashola as VP. I thought some igbo folks on NL are already claiming GJ as Igbo. |
Gowon should be commended for his re-concilatory, enlighting and factual stance those of you young igbos who want to embark on a renewed misadventure like Ojukwu goodluck to you. |
Gowon is right, the civil war is not against the Ndigbo’s but against a selfish and self centred man called Ojukwu. He lead his people unto the battle field, only to flee when they needed him most. Any wise Igbo man should see him as a coward and opportunist that he is. His remnant rag tag army who has being disillusioned for years has finally found solace and their voices on the internet, they would beg to differ. The internet the last bastion for cowards and simpletons in the world today is where these rogue and faceless unit has chosen to show any semblance of bravado by putting up a rather mundane posturing, the earlier these defeated soldiers of misfortune realise the war has being over 40 years ago the better it would be for them and their families. ![]() |
ribadu for VP That is something worthy of pushing, and to be sincere It would be like October 1 st 1960. The joy and happiness would have no bounds, |
By hook or crook there has been a imbalance of power towards the minority people o Middle belt and South South. Now we have an Ijaw man as President that is a minority tribe, nothing should stop the Beroms, Gwaris, Yorubas, Igalas, Ebiras, Tivs, Kanuris from proving to Jonathan that they are up to the Job. The Job is opened to all the tribes in Northern Nigeria. It is not the exclusive right of the Hausa / Fulani. However if a Hausa / Fulani man is the best man for the Job it should be giving to them without much thought. Afterall Ribadu and El-Rufai are Hausa / Fulani. |
Why must he appoint VP? Mr Goodluck Jonathan is being address as Acting President. Do we need Acting VP too? Afterall nobody is sure of Yaradua whereabout yet. So let's see what Mr Jonathan POINTS of Agenda first. He would have to appoint a VP closer to election time come 2011 whether we like it or not. Whoever is the VP would run for the Presidency on the PDP ticket. |
what about the previous 35years the North had The Military guys are not proper Governments. They are like burglars or Gate Crashers who entered your house by force and decide to drive you the owner out of the house. Military regimes the world over are illegitimate regimes, it is unfortunate that our country had to go through such a dark period in our history but nothing spoil, now we have Democracy and I hope it would be a smooth sailing henceforth. |
so why will we set a totally different standard for Jonathan? The first thing you have to understand is this mandate is not Jonathan’s mandate, it is Yaradua’s mandate, Jonathan is an accidental President. Southern Nigeria has had their 8 years with OBJ, it is only fair for the Northerners to have their’s. If Jonathan has good intention for Nigeria he has to look for like minded minds from the north who share his vision. I am sure the North can produce people who are a million times better than Yaradua’s Kitchen Cabinet. |
The Federal Government should stop making any payment towards Yaradua’s treatment. How do you pay for a patient yet u cannot see the patient. I am sure King Fadh would not mind picking up the tab. |
but who says if Jonathan performs well in office he can't run in 2011 Nigeria is 50years this year since independence. North has led for at least 35years so why are people in a haste to shove the Goodluck Presidency? Is he a lesser Nigerian? There is nothing stopping him from running, if a graduate from Kano, Oyo, Ogun. Ondo, Anambra and the other remaining States get a Job b4 even finishing their NYSC. If there are fast trains connecting our urban centres, If the common man and women find and get work, if there is dignity in labour that is people are paid liveable wages as suppose to slave wages. I can’t recollect Southern Nigerians clamouring for a Southern Head of State when Gowon was head of State. That is because people who where looking for work can get jobs, wages earned in Nigeria in 1974 was higher than wages paid in the USA and UK. So why would anyone clamour for political power when they have economic power. Jonathan cannot fulfil all these mouth watering desire in the short spate of 18 months. He can however start the ball rolling and pass the baton to someone who will pursue what he has started with more gust and determination than him the architect |
How are u sure Goodluck is gonna be sworn in as president till the next election. yaradua is immortal, he's gonna bounce back soon to take his birth right and porbably contest in 2011. Yaradua is as good has gone, No President worth its salt keeps mute when one of her citizen especially one from his part of the country is about to blow up a Jet – Liner. So Mr Man think of something else |
I suspect OBJ’s Hausa boys would relevant to this new administration – the El-Rufai’s, Ribadu’s of this world. |
Jonathan and OBJ meeting at 12:00 midnight, they better get the choice right for our next VP, someone Nigerians would be proud of. There is the popular saying “Once beaten twice shy”, I hope and pray they get it right this time. No Vacancy for anyone in Yaradua’s Kitchen Cabinet. |
