Wasnt this the Abacha's son who tortured them Diya and co. Please remind me somebody??

If this statement is true then this gentleman has no business in politics, what is Diya waiting for, if u don’t complain then there is no offence.

must however add that Bankole's statement that Bayelsa collects 9 times what Lagos gets is miles of tangent. He is supposed to give facts and not sensational statements to get public applause.

I think it is actually 6X, I read somewhere that Lagos only gets 700 million not sure of the true figure, If Bayelsa gets 4 billion, 700 million will be 4.2 billion.

Politics › Re: Soludo Pays N420m Bribe To Get Governorship Ticket by KnowAll(m): 11:36am On Oct 16, 2009
A man that has a career-life of being in the military, ruled the counrty and corruption was institutionalised, billions go missing, refused to record and account for expenditure during his rule, uses court injunctions to avoid reporting to any investigative panel, never had a visible business venture and yet is building & buying multi-million buildings (home and abroad) and having a private jet and living a £ bilionaires life is a criminal in my books.

So you are comparing a governmental operation in a democratic setting, where multiple people (public servants (ministry and CBN, oil firms, academic staticians) are involved in or privy to records and record keeping to your friend's staff selling Akara in London?

And that is your evidence that looting has taken place?

bleeping interesting, please go on. Let me hear more.

Written in bold is your accusation that IBB is a fraud. Whatever thread I contribute I always make sure my stance is consistent.

What evidence do u have against IBB, that u don’t want to pass on to OBJ and Soludo are u saying these 2 gentlemen are saints and IBB is a devil.

You might want to use this in defence as your opening gambit in defence of your inconsistent stance “ In a democratic setting”   -  that IBB is different from Soludo and OBJ, I am pre-empting you, if I should go by your assettion that fraud cannot be perpetuated in a democracy,  it simply means the Alam’s and Igbenidion’s that have being convicted for embezzlement should be suing the EFCC and the FG because fraud in a democracy is impossible due to the plethora of officialdom.

Man be consistent whatever thread u contribute on.

Please come again with this rant.

So your evidence is that they might have not announce the right earnings but you don't think that is a conjecture?

Fuuuuuuuuuuck me!

I have friends who have restaurants in London, and my friend keeps on changing the guys on the till, sacking them at times, I asked him one day why does he keep on doing this he said they are all thieves, that they steal his money. How much more kleptomaniac politicians.

What rubbish!

The way Nigerians throw accusations at will and all of a sudden it becomes fact and folklore.

N420m my freaking arse

Mr don’t sit in London and say nonsense,  there are more Billionaires in that Cesspit let me use a word that I seem to come across amongst our Biafra brothers, than the UK this is no lie.

Soludo and OBJ announce to the world when they where in power that Nigeria had $52 billion in reserves, what gives u the impression this figure is correct. What stops the figure from being $55 billion and they announce $52 billion, those goons Soludo and OBJ are billionaires in dollars take it or live it.

A credit card fraudster in London who was hustling for £300.00 only 19 years ago  is now a billionaire

Can't you use your brain?
We need evidence to this effect since Soludo has denied it. So without evidence the case remains an allegation

Mr man are u a Nigerian, u think those traders from Ontisha and Nnewi will invest N5 million Naira of their hard earn cash and not get anything back, Mr man wake up and smell the coffee.

If u sabi any mallam that u can sponsor u better join the bandwagon, u should be thinking of how u go get some of our looted money back from Abacha next year.

Flaws of the story

Are you saying the Liberian government cannot find a loyal Liberian that will launder this fund out of their country, even with the large number of educated Liberians in Diaspora, why would the president of a country give his laundered funds to the wife of the president of another country.
Are u saying Doe does not have any members of his family that can do this dirty job for him.

Having said that, Doe being a Sgt who by the stroke of luck or destiny found himself catapulted into the Presidency is a one off in the world, in fact he must hold the record of being the lowest ranking Soldier to gain power in the world.

We all know in Africa Corporals and Sgt’s are not the most learned fellows, bungling decisions and cock-up’s like this will not be far from the truth, but I still find the story incredible.

The Finance minister should actually be releasing how much each State gets down to LG level so that the people can ask their Governors and Chairmen to account of how the money was spent, since the State Houses of Assembly and the Councillors in LG are not doing their jobs.
Politics › Re: Soludo Pays N420m Bribe To Get Governorship Ticket by KnowAll(m): 9:20am On Oct 16, 2009
That is the easiest £140,000 or $ 190,000 dollars ever make, how much was the form again was it 5 million Naira or £20,000 , $35,000.00 not a bad return for a 3 weeks investment.

No wonder we had 47 candidates even some people who knew they have no chance in hell paid this money for the form knowing fully well that the returns will be mind blowing.

How are wish I am from Kano State because the circus will be moving north soon when the nomination for the PDP Guber begins late next year, I can guarantee that 100 PDP Stalwarts will be running against Mohammed Abacha.

@Vavavoom and Aloy Emaka

So in essence Kola Abiola is a billionaire, money is evil, how come he is not flexing his money like the Dangote’s and Otedola’s even though the whole world now know they are owing the banks billions, u cannot have $5 billion dollars and be quite about it. You will want to be seeing and to be seeing is to get involve in Politics.

Why is Mohammed Abacha getting involve in Politics, it is because he has too much money, a billionaire does not sit on his laureal, they flex even the most introvert billionaire.

That is a Cock and Bull story.
Politics › Re: Abiola Spent All His Loot On June 12 Election by KnowAll(m): 4:43pm On Oct 15, 2009
lets have the ''abounding evidence'' of the house built in Minna as a result of stolen wealth. While you are at it let's also know how Abiola was able to afford the numerous businesses he

IBB was there for 8 good years, he was selling oil to the whole world yet our Railways parked up, NEPA parked up, the Naira was devalued by 200% during his tenure, all the express-ways in the nation became death traps. If IBB has not stolen the money earned from oil through out those 8 years where is the money then, he is the custodian of the treasury.

If I give u $20 billion dollars to hold for me only to ask u for the money back, and u turn around and tell me what money. What did IBB do with all the money he earned from the sale of oil during his tenure.

In IBB case one can revisit the sins of his close colleague and partner in crime in the person of Abacha to him, it is an established fact Abacha stole in excess of $15 billion in the short time he ruled Nigeria, there is als a saying birds of the saying feather flock together.

Abacha being IBB’s right hand man was privy to the inner workings of the tresasury, if he Abacha can amass so much money in a short time how much more his mentor.

At least in Ghana in other to justify the reasons of killing all those ex president Rawlings decided not to build a house for himself insisting to the public that he his broke that is why he still lives in the official Presidential Castle.

Please do your research before coming on the net to expose your ignorance.
Ogundipe did not flee. The northern soldiers started their mutiny and took over the cantonment. Murtala, Adamu, Joe garba were all in Ikeja cantonment; they had no means of escape and had in fact commandeared an airforce plane to move their families out of the west. Ogundipe sent two units to quell the coup; both units were ambushed, one at Mobolaji Bank-Anthony way, Ikeja and the second at Bonny. Ogundipe, realising that there was a stalemate sent Gowon (who was with Ogundipe when making plans to quell the coup) to the coup-plotters at Ikeja to arrange dialogue and peaceful surrender.

On getting to Ikeja, Gowon had a dialogue with the coupists. It was during this dialogue that a northern soldier mentioned the idea of confederation. Gowon, curious as to what it meant, asked what that would entail. The British High commissioner, who was in attendance, then said to the northern soldiers that their people would suffer if they entertained such an idea.

At this point, a solution was put forward and it was that Gowon should become Head since the coupists and Ogundipe could not trust one another. Gowon was chosen because he was not part of the part, he was from the north, and he was a pacifist. Ogundipe had to agree because there was no one else who could support him. Gowon agreed to the idea because he felt it would bring peace. This is why years later, Murtala would use yar adua and Garba to overthrow Gowon.

So you see, Ogundipe did not run and he was not a coward.

Thanks for sharing this new insight as to what happen to Ogundipe, this thread is for all Nigerians to contribute but the Biafrans hijack it and made it their own little baby in other to glorify Ojukwu

We need more inputs from other Nigerians, Mid- westerns don’t be mute about it.
Politics › Re: Abiola Spent All His Loot On June 12 Election by KnowAll(m): 12:41pm On Oct 15, 2009
was ibb ever prosecuted for stealing public funds to enrich himself? Then how do you know he actually stole from Nigeria?

The subject matter here is Abiola not IBB, secondly it could easily have been assumed that IBB being the custodian of the treasury for 8 years might be tempted to pilfer evidence abound to show that the house built in Minna could not have been built by that of the salary of a General in the army.

Abiola did not have that kind of  luxury of seeing the country’s income coming in,  going out and despatch to various projects.

coup needs to be sponsored, why?becos you need money to get some logistics in place and buy pple over to urside.teh junior millitary men tht hatch coups do not have access to such cash!

if a civillian has been confirmed to be directly or indirectly involved in a coup, what is he called?, definitely not an "observer".

he is called a coupist and gets the same fate as the millatry men invold-death!

Was Abiola ever found to be involved and prosecuted in the planning, execution and eventual installation of the coup plotters or is your utterances based on second hand information which as you know is not admissible anywhere in the world as a fact.

Because if such can be verified and established that will be news not just to me but to millions of Nigerians

The Nigerian army failed in it`s duty of care to protect all of it`s citizens, by allowing the senseless killings of Igbo`s in the North. Has bad as the bad Nigerian army have been over the years, the one thing u can give them credit 4 is the fact that they have learnt from that tragic mistake. The Boko Haram incident being the latest example. If the army had done the same thing in 1966, There probably would never have been a Biafran war.

The Commander-in-Chief of the army failed the igbos at the time not the army, the CinC was Balewa, the CinC during the Boko Haram debacle dealt with the situation decisively hence the overwhelming force use to put the crisis to an abrupt end.

I personally think this incident together with the amnesty are some of the high notes of Yardua’s regime, he excelled remarkably well on those 2 crisis

We are not saying the thread should be locked, or the thread deleted, all we are reminding the poster is,  since it is an establish fact that  Abiola has never held a political post in Nigeria b4, the wording of the title of the thread “ Abiola spent all his loot “ is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the respect and enviable interest the name attracts within the four corners of our nation.

So this whole thing has degenerated into inter-tribal war between Igbos and Yorubas? I suspect some individuals who do not feel comfortable with some topics introduce these funny angles to scuttle discussions. I thought the war ended when I was ----years old.

In Africa we don’t talk evil about the dead, and this is a norm and custom that cut across every tribe in African, we are only reminding the poster of the thread to live up to his inherent continental responsibility as an African unless the person who posted this vile and foul language topic is “ an Akata”

He might well be a good governor, he is 50 times richer than the state, the resources of the state will be spent on the state instead of lining his pocket, so things might be looking good for Kano in the years to come.

But who did Abiola loot from, I can’t remember him being a Councillor, LG Chairman, Commissioner, MD of State parastatal, MD of federal Parastatal,  a federal minister, or the President( because in some serious psychotic minds he had assumed the post of the Presidency b4 it was annulled ).

Throughout his life he was never in-charge of any government coffers. Am I getting something wrong here, he was a communication expert and he made a killing in that field,  is it a crime for a businessmen to make a profit, I think some folks need serious waking up here, Kolo plenty for NL oh !! , what an illogical argument.

Your infatuation with God father movie and Hassan Katsina has effectively blinded you so you are incapable of any discussion based on facts, logic and common sense

If everything u have learnt is based on personal experience then I rest my case, but surely television, movies and drama, the internet and of course old fashion books play a role in changing, developing and enriching our perceptions of events, it also contributes to our every day lives.
