There were lot of fallen heroes & heroines of Naija during the late '90s. MKO, Baba 70 (Fela), Abacha , Kudirat Abiola to named a few. All these days still stayed fresh in memory. Kudirat was gunned down in front of coca-cola bottling company, where the driver drove to seeking cover but the untimely response from the gate personnel cost them their lives. The assassins ambushed them! While Fela had earlier debunked his death rumors on TV prior to his main demised. I followed the glass casket in which they used to convey the legend for lying in state at TBS. My first and last time seeing him in person. shook hands with Femi who sat on one of the cars while people with loud speakers playing baba 70 music with enough 'Igbo smokers', the smokes almost blinded ones eyes. More than half population of Nigerians were jubilating the passing of authoritarian; Abacha after he allegedly took an apple from daughters of Jezebels He was already campaigning to be elected as democratic president after number of years as a military presido, if not for death that took him away; he would have been the first democratic president 'cos no one dare stop him. The striking blow to all Nigerians was however the breaking news after some weeks/months of Abacha's death, that MKO a renowned philanthropist has died from food poisoning. We all thought he was going to be Nigeria Mandela, but that never happened! Till date- the MKO/Kingibe campaign song is still the best... My brother wetin you dey think oo? My sister helep don come oooo! MKO-Kingibe (2ce) Action -Abiola Abiola-Progress that song sweet shaa |

You're not alone, I know of about 4 people that has this forgetfulness issue. one has even forgotten all her original credentials & travel documents in a bus in the past. If it's treatable, will implore you to seek medical advice & get treatments. AdamsAbubakar: I tend to forget where I keep my stuff easily, and it's really annoying. I may do something right now and forget it seconds later. Ironically, I remember things like names of people, what people said and the faces of people easily and accurately. I can still remember the surnames and names of my ex-classmates in secondary school perfectly, and the names and surnames of 202 people in my class at the University level.
My forgetfulness, however, petrifies me a lot as I'm 22 years old. What could be wrong? Should I be worried or it's normal at such an age?
Mods please help me push it to the FP let me get replies from the good people of NL. |

Chairmo! Abroad people call you every weekend to demand for money, as Dangote or Otedola wey you be . If we check well, na people like you dey beg for yankee visa o! You're not in the abroad, all your assumptions about the earnings & standard of living in the abroad are baseless! rentAcock: Abroad people call me every weekend asking me to send money (not bragging). Many of them are frustrated over there. They work long hours including overtime but the government takes federal, state, city, social security, medicare, medicaid and disability taxes. On top of that, when they buy biscuit, they will still take sales tax. They pay exorbitant rent; those who "own" homes are locked in a loan repayment for 30yrs of which they still have to pay annual taxes for their house. Phone bill can cost over $60 per line, cable $120, internet $80 and they still pay tax on top of it. Burger and chips with soft drink can easily cost you $16 plus tax.
Sure some folks are making over $100,000 theoretically especially healthcare workers in expensive states like California and new York, but by the time they deduct all those taxes from their check, they are left with just $40,000. Then they still have to pay more taxes on every thing they buy. That's not life. It's like a rat wheel, oscillating but not making any progress. I have a cousin who was in the same situation in America, after 10yrs working as a social worker, he returned home and we started up a business. He still regrets all the years he spent slaving away in America. Today, he travels the world on vacation and visiting places he didn't even have time to visit when he was living abroad. It's not too late for Nigerians living abroad to return home; you can make it big here with less stress and you will extend your life span. |

Your answer is there in your statement, young man. You aren't ready for marriage, then let her be. There's no point harboring her at your place.
Making her come stay with you would probably affects both of you negatively. |
Family › Re: Marriage: Before And After by KoolBigk(m): 5:04pm On May 28, 2020 |
Marriage is sweet when you marry a reasonable partner who is always there for you, come rain, come sun shine! I have been married for over 5 years with kids & still balling, looking forward to many more years with my partner. Life itself isn't bed of roses , but what you make out of every situations' matters a lot. Yes, we disagree & argue at times but we never allowed all that to change or define us! I tell the young folks, it's best to fall in love with both of your head/sense & heart. Sadly, most people fall in love today with just their heart. So, When your heart is leading you south 'cos you blinded with love, your head can call you back home. Have it in mind, love alone is not sufficient to make marriage works. There many other essential factors aside love like compatibility, truthfulness, compassionate, compromising & the likes. Above all the fear of God. I see based on your write up, your are having this "fear of unknown" of what might happen between you two in the nearest future. I will say focus on the bright-side. Remember, Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday. Dyt: What is Before, In Between and After?
Yeah we all know marriage is an institution between 2 persons with the aim to have offspring and companionship, but is this all we see and make of it?
I am a person that believes in relationship/marriage and tries to go far in making it work well except when it starts to affect my mental health (i cant go mad all in the name of i want it to work)
Some say marriage is easy while some say its a hard work, we all have different opinions.. I for one been married before, it didnt work not because i couldnt try but (my choice anyway)
I am considering going into another and all the things that we do that counts now may not in few years, I mean the sexiness, the kamasutra and all, well ofcourse i am not just gonna be offering just sex, we both got more to keep us going for a 100years to come (my favourite part is the friendship and companionship)...
I am scared sometimes waking up to him every other day and same way it excites me
How has it been with those married for 5years and counting? the joy, feeling, the tears, the arguments, the sex, I mean all of it.... |

That night was one of the best moments of "Who wants to be a millionaire". There was one question asked by Frank Edoho, the question was actually about his neighbor (who was a public figure). The dude just smiled, Frank was shocked when he told him that was his neighbor. Romance › Re: My Girlfriend Just Confessed She Fornicated Inside The Church by KoolBigk(m): 5:38pm On May 26, 2020 |
Run for your life bro., run! most ladies of her age aren't ready to settle down yet. She still wanna explore & enjoy all John Thomas out there Lifedonor: I will have to go straight to the point.
The lockdown due to covid 19 made my girl friend and I bond even closer to the extent she practically was almost living with me. She only leave my place to her house (not too far from mine) just to change her clothes or her other items as the case maybe. Sometime along the line I fell ill and she was very much helpful.
Fast forward to early May, I discovered she had become too glued to her phone. We would be seeing a movie on TV and her phone will be with her (chatting) at a point I complained. This got worse to the extent that when I wake up in the night say 1AM this girl is still up charting.
Two days ago I went to the hospital for my final check up and I left with the keys since she wasn't around when I left the house. When I got back I found her small Nokia phone on the table and I decided to go through it.
The messages I found there are things I won't want to talk about but the major one that promoted this thread is that I saw a message from her choir member telling her that he is on his way to church already and that she should come fast before the program starts so they can meet. I went through his previous messages with her and lo and behold they have been dating for a month now.
Guys when she got back I threatened fire and brimstone and booommm! The confession. They usually meet an hour before choir practises and they went behind the church towards the generator house to kiss touch and romance that was the reason she always left the house so Early.
Do you guys know that we had a very good sex that same day she left to the church to kiss this guy. Do you know she bathed in my house, she used my deodorant, she ate my food and wore the clothes I bought for her. Apparently she kissed and romanced two guys in less than 3hrs.
This is the second time she is cheating on me. I know quite sure there could be more but this is the only one she agreed to may be cos there was a text evidence.
She has been pleading and begging. But if she could do this even in the church and on a day I was in the hospital ... I am thinking of quitting. Pls advise me
She is 22 in her finals the guy is 25 same university (I live in a university town)
I have met her parents and I have verbally told her that I would marry her. If not for the way 2020 turned out I wanted settling down November this year. We have dated for 2yrs
She even spoke to my mom in the morning of the same day. |

You've said it all! Tripitaka: "I told him to" "I want him to" "I warned him not to" "I advised him to" "He wouldn't listen to me" and all the other stuffs.
It appears to me that you are foisting your opinion, choices and wishes on your partner. You want him to live his life your way, pursue his dreams following your chart and run his race with you as guide. Perhaps you want to be the Kapellmeister while you lead the orchestra that is his life.
If he were to follow your advise and it backfires or doesnt yield the expected fruit, who would take responsibility? There is something some of us do not acknowledge which is that not everyone wants to be wealthy, some people just want to be successful at what they do, some people just want to lead a simple and fulfilled life.
I also find your intentions questionable. Do you have all those "nice thoughts" for him because you love and wish him well, or because you want him wealthy enough to marry you next year and give you "the life"? Its a shame that you say you're not proud of someone ou claim to love and painting him as some loser.
There comes a time in the life of a man when he wants to do things his own way, steer his own ship, make his own mistakes and celebrate his own little victories.
I would have asked you to talk to him, but I believe you guys have talked about this over and over. So, the choice is yours to walk or stay |
