Because in my opinion, the technical education that was available in the early days are gone. It would have helped greatly if such institutions are not moribund. So sad though. I have people I know who have to go back to tech school for different degrees here in the state to study and are successful now with their trades.

Just be determined and be ready to go through alot of mental and physical stress. When you eventually made it to the states, remember nobody will help you with a dime,its all for your self but with a strong desire to succeed you can become anything, am a prime example. But what works for me might not works for you. Make sure you follow the legal path and don't ever try to circumvent the system because it will come back to bite you, welcome to America in advance. I agree to an extent, uscis knows that sometimes some of those ladies made up stories when they are hurting. But I wish them luck.
With a good attorney on the guy side, she can't do much on whether he can or can't re enter the state under her name, at worst he can self sponsor if he's capable and file a solo removal of condition on his GC. Some of this ladies are dumb and just saying things they don't know much about especially when they're hurting. However, all depends on the evidence provided/presented by her against he guy. When you were employed, was the resumption time duly communicated to you if yes then you've nothing wrong but if no,you should have ask for written documents like acceptance letter that states clearly what's expected of you. Just calm down something better is always ahead.

I handed over a client's car to him since January to fix a wiring issue that was draining battery and not making car to start.
For several months, it was all manner of stories and excuses I kept hearing.
I was in the hospital for a month and just straight from the hospital with my surgical stitches fresh on me, I had to get someone to drive me to him as he claimed car was ready for pick up only for me to get there and car wasn't starting and this man disappeared and wouldn't pick my calls all through my time at his workshop.
After over an hr of waiting, I left. Same thing repeated itself another day again. To cut a long story right now, I have suffered serious reputational damage with my client who owns the car as he has totally lost confidence in me.
As I speak, it's 9 months and nothing to show for it. The said technician doesn't even pick my calls when I call him, neither does he bother to return my calls.
I've been calling for over a week now and he completely ignores my call. I'm really at a loss to how to handle this.
In my many years of selling cars, nobody has tried this nonsense with me.

My landlord increased the pressure point of our water in the compound and now water gas been leaking, pipes got burst in the wall and water has been coming out from walls and pop, I started complaining last month but they didn't do anything about it, it got to a point when the water was too much in my room, I wanted to get my landlords attention so I had to spoil our pumping machine and I brought out all the dirts in our dustbin, I acknowledge my mistakes but it was out of anger.
My landlord confronts me and we got into an argument and we insulted each other, I know i was wrong but if I didn't spoil that pumping machine, the landlord wouldn't have called plumber to repair the issues I was having in my room, I even discovered that i wasn't the only one experiencing such thing, my neighbors too were also having that same issues.
According to my landlord, he said he's not the one collecting money from us, we paid money to agent and if we have any issues we should contact the agent, this particular agent is his elder brother but this my landlord is living in our compound with us, though he has numerous houses.
Now my landlord said he doesn't want to see me again in his compound and has threatened my mum with quit notice, he said it's either I leave the house or my family would leave , he instructed the gateman not to open gate for me again or else he'll sack him. My fellow nairalanders I really need your help, how will I go about this?

You don't have any right to damage someone property and he's right to have directed you to the agent, though depending on the initial agreement between you both. Standstrong: I picked up the gate man job ending of last month out of no other better options at the moment and seeing what economic hardship was making me pass through, especially waking up with no hope of where food is going to come from, make i no go steal, God abeg.
I have been doing the job well. Yesterday, while strolling around the area, I heard one man saying he is looking for someone to cut grasses in his compound. Being something I can do to collect the money to help myself as i was hungry and peniless, I met the man and told him i can do the work and we agreed on N15k.
So as my oga went to work, i rushed down to do the work. While I was on it, i dont know what brought my oga back to the house and he didnt see me at the post.
He called me and asked me where i am. I rushed down to the house. I told him i got a small contract of 15k to cut grass for someone in the neighbourhood.
The man got so angry on why I left his duty post to go do another job. Worse was that the person i did the job for was more like his enemy, as i later learnt they've not been in good terms.
He sacked me instantly. I begged this man as a human being to please forgive but he refused to consider me again. He even said, "go before you go and collect poison from my enemy to come and kill me".
Please what is my business with whatever fight the two of them are fighting?
That was how I lost the small job i just got 3 weeks ago and now back with nothing. He should have paid me for the 3 weeks right away but he didnt, rather he said i will find a way to pay you for the services so far.
Please, the country is already very hard and all I needed was something that could give me immediate money to survive on first.
Sad how struggling citizens are being badly treated everyday even while legitimately hustling for survival. How he will pay me for the 3 weeks, he didn't say it.

If possible, they should make use of banks within a locality as the point of collection of passports. This will cut down the middleman NIS official that charge fees just for passport collection speed up alone.
Some of us here in the state applied last year April precisely I got mine in September 2022 and some are yet to get their own. As am speaking I got a mail just last week friday 8th September 2023 containing some list of names of people who's passport was not released earlier that they were ready . I have been married for more than 10yrs now with beautiful kids, my marriage is one that many Young guy will wish to have, but along the the line I don't know what happened things begin to nose dive. In the last 6yrs I discovered that I struggle to make love to my wife, she will either tell you ohh, she is tire or she don't like sex much..this I have endured for all this years with no cheating. Her qualities are She can cook She can keep the house clean She can manage resources And she is accommodating to my people In all this years I have never cheated on her, proudly saying it coz my dad warned me of cheating on my wife rather I should divorce her and go for another wife.
My qualities are I work and earn like about 700k net a month. I give feeding allowance and personal total of 100k a month while I invest the rest on a project which she is aware of. I don't drink or smoke I don't keep late night and I am the best friend to her and my kids. Honestly having talk to her for over 5yrs on this issues of love making and she refused to change, then I have decided to yield to my dad advice and ask her to leave...she is not aware of this plan, but trust me it will hit her. I allow her to do little job to have her own finance is not as if she contribute anything in the house, but she is claiming stubborn, I love her so much, it will hurt me to cheat on her, something I have not done since I got married to her. I mean everything is on me and he has refused to provide for us as he always claimed he doesn't have. I have always be an understanding person who believe, I should be doing while I can, pending when things gets better for him. I never knew he was getting little little, but was gambling away with it.
We really do not date for a long time before we got married. Because I knew him back then in school from a far distance. And we liked each other but didn't date. So, meeting again after graduation and in a different environment, made me believe I already knew and the fact that we already liked each other.
He was struggling with a little job when we got married. My foresight then was to grow with him. I supported him in all ways. Infact, during our wedding, most support came from friends and relatives. Because I'm not the type of a wife that pressurized, It took me a very long time to know the nature of habit he had that has kept him low even before I married him.
He is a chronic gambler. No money stays with him. He wouldn't even care about himself so long as he can afford little money to gamble. Now, I don't have a job and too much burden has crippled my business.
To be honest, I'm losing myself. Sometimes I feel I need a therapy myself. My husband has refused to change or make effort to make this marriage work. Before I had my second child, he was pretending as if he has changed. But immediately I took in, he continues this lifestyle. I almost died due to emotional breakdown and responsibilities shouldered by myself.
I have done everything, (both family members have adviced him severally, I have prayed, fasted, cried, shouted, talked with a calm voice, all my efforts. but non is working.
Presently, since two weeks ago now, I don't cook for him. I source for food for just myself and my children. We barely have decent conversation in this house. I can't even remember the last time we had intimacy. I always avoid him, each time he tries to get close. Because of the situation of things in this house. He will work during his term through jail and pay,and most probably his bank account would have been seized to cover for part of his restitution plan. Lastly, he's coming home to you after his term,I guarantee you that. His GC will be destroyed because he already violated his terms and conditions for obtaining such benefits. I don't know if any miracle can happen after his release for his deportation not to happen but the chance is next to zero.

So, I read a rumour of how a young girl who scored 9 As in her WAEC result was poisoned to death. I can't confirm the authenticity of that story, but it took me to memory lane... Maybe, it was her best friend that poisoned her to death out of jealousy. That led me to create this thread.

I had my taste of a very bad friendship which lasted for more than 10 years. We met in school (higher institution). He approached me during my first few weeks in school, and we became friends.
He had some good sides, but the bad sides makes me question the good ones. We study and sit together during exam. We share answers codedly in hall, but I'm now thinking he might have been giving me the wrong answers while I was busy supplying him with the right ones.
All of this guy's effort was to have a better result than mine, and to make over 3.0 CGPA which he eventually succeeded at. There are times I could've gotten an A in some of my courses including a carryover, but this guy blocked it and have me got a C. I don't want to go into details.
Many things happened between us until few years ago when he referred me for a job, I got the job and was made the manager. The same company employed him a month later as a line manager. This is where he couldn't hide his true colour anymore and started being a thorn in my flesh in our work place.
Apparently he was pained that he referred me and I got a higher pay and position than he got. After many years of friendship, it was then I found out how dangerous that guy can be. I had to cut off that friendship few months into the job, and I'm never ready to have anything to do with that guy in my life again.
It's surprising how the same guy you dine with, drink with, party with, even travel to their hometown and sleep for days, has always been in competition with you without your knowledge. Such a person can kill out of jealousy.
We have to be careful of the kind of people we keep as friends. The funny thing is that I'm not even the best student while in school, why competing with me instead of the best students? Abi first class no dey sweet you Some people are perhaps and furthermore 😂🤣, even notwithstanding. 🤣😂😂
