I love Taiwo for the heart and fearlessness in front of goal, he does have horrible defence days too but you cannot blame a defender that bulky for having pace and quickness issues he more than makes up for it coming forward and free-kicksHere is a ranking to help you decide if Taiwo or Uwa is better

maddock:If he was so desperate to go to the US in such dangerous methods, he should have re-directed his desperation into assassinating and kidnapping corrupt governors (including ex-governors), their wives and children, maybe there would be less thieves to deal with thereby improving the environment he was running away from. ![]() |
The truth is football in Nigeria as well as in African and Latin American countries is like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If you are lucky, you will become very successful and retire well, if you are unlucky, you will break into a top team in a good league courtesy of outshining players far younger than you in youth Championships like the U17. but your luck will run out when it is time to play with the big boys and you start running 100 mtrs week-in week-out, your Age will tell, your sins will catch up with you and you begin to wonder why Messi will leave grass and dirt for our defenders to chew and our goal-keeper to have nightmares come worldcup 2010. Our youth programme needs to be seriously followed with the proper funding and proper administration, Messi was a product of the Barca youth team, we all love to watch him play but fail to recognize that he worked hard at the right age and the right time. You cannot cheat mother-nature, your false-age will eventually be your doom, ask Aghahowa and Yakubu Ayegbeni and Kanu (Papilo) or better still Victor Ikpeba who was 26 while his younger brother in Benin was 30 ![]() |
Mikel has too many believers and equally strong haters with a compelling argument. 1: Mikel was 2 runner-up best player in the Youth Championships that saw Messi the best player of the tournament (Taye Taiwo came in 3rd) 2: Messi plays a similar position for his club Barcelona and has excelled to the point of winning FIFA's ultimate crown 3: He is en-route to a second appearance on FIFA's top 3 come 2010 FIFA Best Player 4: Taye Taiwo plays a similar defensive position as he did in the championships and is faring well for his club. 5: Mikel is faring well in his adopted defensive MF position for Chelsea, however when he is called in to play for Nigeria in an offensive MF role, all the glitzy performance we say in Lyn Oslo and the Youth Championships simply vanish (not what you expect from an Offensive MF. So maybe there is a strong argument that he is just over-rated both as a defensive and offensive MF, and he is definitely Nigeria's best DMF according to world rankings CASTROL |

We always talk, we love talk, we can intellectualize more than the oyibos sef, the truth is there is a great ball of TRUTH to what IBB has said. The youths have no serious representative with the clout and support or political affiliations to move Nigeria forward, nor do they care to move like the youths that gave IBB hell before he left. Recent protests by the youths are welcomed but why wait till the iron is cool and strong, the Youths waited all through Abacha to Yar-adua and only started moving their feet when Goodluck J took the reins. It is nearly impossible to move a mad man from his habitation when he is already inside. |

Regardless of how what you make of it. Heaven/Hell, God/Satan, Good/Evil, Black/White, Light/Darkness, Angels/Demons are simply manifestations of our innate consciousness's need and ability to categorize reality for the purpose of sanity. In the face of reality, we are lost without a central, infinitely all-powerful, all-knowing deity to whom we owe our lives and unquestioning loyalty to. In order to remain in line and keep the faith, Hell is invented, how else would the evil of this world who escaped justice be punished ![]() If there is a Hell, is it a physical location or it is all in our minds, Is it a spiritual location that can only be accessed when you are dead? |
I saw this picture in 1992, it will always remain indelible in my memory. This is one of few reasons that Nigeria will never move beyond mediocre. 1: We dignify crooks by actually giving them attention with our comments, our search for some ray of good in dark and evil persons. 2: We know the problems of Nigeria, even the illiterate shoe-maker on the street can recount every that is wrong with Nigeria and why change will be "impossible" 3: We accept the right of existence of the crooked and the corrupt, we even give them our support by not doing anything when they are appointed to key positions beyond carrying placards and shouting angrily in protest (which has never worked) 4: We inwardly know that the bad leadership of this country from the religious to the political need to end, but we would rather take the comfortable option, if not IBB, who else is it Atiku (the crook) or Buhari (the fascist). We continually seek the face of God and do not reason to ask why God has his back turned all these years.5: We accept that there is some good in Nigeria but fail to recognize that a pollutant cannot be purified by adding clean water. We cannot have a few good men and expect everything to start changing for the better, the majority of bad men will always taint the outcome of whatever good has been done. e.g Tinubu and Fashola We all know the bitter answer to our problems but are too selfish, insecure, scared and comfortable to do anything about it |

Well, it had to be said. a lot of fundamental structures have been ignored for too long and we are now feeling the effects of 50 years negligence. Our leaders thought Oil monies will make the ride a smooth one, but here we are today, Poor Education, Poor Health, Poor Security, Poor Employment Profile, Poor Everything except for the few corrupt rich who are also feeling the effects of an illiterate police force, brash military and amazingly dim politicians. There is no leap-froggin to be done here, we will spend exactly the same number of years to get back to our feet as we did to crawl into the gutter we have dug for ourselves. Labour is all about politics in 2011 since they cannot make claims on employees anymore afterall, who pays for the lack of electricity, who pays for the high government levies and double-taxes, who pays for security, man this sucks lemons ![]() |

It is not a rhetorical question nor is it intended for mockery. Billions worldwide have a concept of God(s) from the dawn of time and till date not much as changed with regards to the key activity surrounding the believers; WORSHIP. be it in prayer, songs and admonitions. God(s) require and demand worship and sacrifices in blood, money or other alternatives to appease their moods or as a show fealty by the adherents. What does God want? That I believe is a fair question. What does God need? How can an omnipotent, timeless, and all knowing deity need anything? Does he hunger for worship so much that he creates infinite universes with beings for the sole purpose of worship? All across the world great progress and innovation are founded on the backs of science and intellect, great wars and death are founded on the claims of God(s) divine purpose or at least breasted on the notion that godless nations and peoples deserve to be annihilated if the cannot be converted. I think its time for all religions to sit together and rethink why we are all here. the singular purpose that we expect to get rewarded for after death. For some religions the act of worship continues for all eternity. Why did God create us in the first place? Why did he create the Angels (you got that right - WORSHIP!) but why does he require it sooo much. is it food? ![]() |
Original Sin: a sin said to be inherited by all descendants of Adam; "Adam and Eve committed the original sin when they ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden I think it holds true for a lot of ancient and modern religions (atheists included) ![]() |

Why Married Men Cheat. It is very simple, history, evolution, society (whatever you choose to call it) have classified the role of a woman as HOUSEWIFE which means she stays in the house with the kids ensuring they get the best of care and upbringing. Men on the other hand need to head out and hustle to bring home the bacon. with all the meltdown and recession kicking-in, where would he find time to release all that stress. definitely not his worried-sick wife at home. Now this is where women always miss the point, when a man cheats on you, it has nothing to do with emotions or love, it is a physical thing, raw sex and 10 seconds of orgasm, after that, he'd be hard-pressed to come back the next day, unless the cuchi was sweet. Women also fail to realize that there are other fulfilling life-goals than having a kid, husband and home (not in that order). when you have finally reached your destination, you become plain and boring and traditional and predictable and played-out. It is only natural for the man to feel attraction to another female just like you love the looks of the latest model of your car ![]() |
It is unfortunate, but what measures can be taken to prevent such incidents. I know parents who send their 1yr-olds to creches only to discover months later that the child has lost most motor skills because the caretakers dowse them with Valium so they can sleep until the parents comes to take them home. There are instances where the child is beaten with a pillow to cause them enough trauma to keep quiet and sleep since there are no visible injuries, the parents take the usual claim that the kid is worn-out from playing all day. Thinking of getting a dirt-cheap nanny from the village or some waiting-to-go-to-d-university girl to look after your baby, think again. there are instances where these girls are caught sleeping with the house-boy or gate-man or boy-friend right in front of the kid. The horror stories are endless. There are agencies that hire-out these nannies and never conduct any sort of psych-profiling before confirming these R.tards They should be sued for every nickle they have got. 1: How do we ensure that the nannies are balanced mentally 2: Understand the nuances of infant behavior 3: Understand how to handle infants when they cry inconsolably |
aletheia: Where did you get this fairy tale from?My Grandma (RIP) was catholic, you should have heard my Grandpa's version. For those whose names were not written on the book of Life, they passed on to the side-walls surrounding heaven underneath a window where Mother mary helped them in. I too had similar thoughts,, but gave up on them when i realised that the very fabric of heaven and hell is based on the reality and reasoning of man on earth. I mean, Fire, Lava, Sulphur, Pearly gates, Gold, Houses, Trumpets, Chairs, Stools, Thrones, All these are man-made items and concepts that we founded in this "imperfect world" yet we have formed Heaven and Hell to contain these imperfect earthly characteristics. On a funny note, I was wondering as St. Peters stands at the Gates of Heaven, reading out the names of those to enter and those to go to hell, who will oil the hinges of the gates because there is going to be a lot of annoying squeaking closing and opening every 15 minutes. ![]() |

Quarrels are a necessary balance for misunderstood ideas, bottled-up emotions, misleading assumptions, etc. when Married Couples quarrel, in the end they somehow find the true reason beyond the assumed cause for the quarrel in the first place, which is good, What remains is whether both parties have the maturity to put aside their differences and move forward for their sakes and the children's |
I just want to as one question, is man higher than the angels? I am assuming a deduced hierarchy based on the Bible God Christ Holy Spirit Man Angels and Mary (of Virgin Birth legends) and the Saints (pope included) Correct me if I am wrong but there is a portion of the Bible that says God has made Man higher than Angels.(the main reason why Satan hates us soo much) So If Christ is God and We are next in line before Angels? What are We. angel-gods or god-angels ![]() Just asking for clarification, let the Bible Pros take on this |
I think we should also look into the Nigerian educational institutions under the catholic responsibility. I recall a good friend who went to a seminary in the eastern part of Nigeria. he recounts how he spent his horrific years there and why he opted to go to the University rather that a catholic institution. Stories of Rape, Sodomy, Smoking etc abound. he said he could not bear to become a priest after all he went through. Indeed you cannot decide that for the universal good, crime should go unpunished. it is like saying that because we want to protect the institution of governance in Nigeria by allowing 1 or 2 governors to go free because if you arrested them, then you will have to arrest probably 95% of governors deemed to be corrupt or have committed crimes deserving of a jail term. simply because there will be no governors to govern Nigeria. The Pope must be punished accordingly for allowing (indeed providing the sustainable environment for these crimes to continue) Regards |
