Please sleep again and have a better dream. Enough of these confused unpatriotic dreams that can never come to pass. I can bet it that our team will not crash out at this stage. Mark my words.
I am truly amazed at the expectations of Nigerians regarding the final score line and the votes for a win against Zambia.
I am not sure what to think, but how do we (Nigerians) come up with such lofty expectations with the benefit of our performance coming into this championship. Yes I know we never lost a match and qualified for the world cup. but can you base your absolute confidence on the SE based on the facts on ground. Have they performed credibly to warrant such confidence, How much do we know of Zambia to say that they are not capable of taken full points. do we have any records of their performance coming into this competition to warrant such a very low and casual assessment of them.

Since when has Monetary incentives become better than Coaching ability and Team Skills and Technical Soundness on the field of play

(AFP) – 9 hours ago

BENGUELA, Angola — Nigeria are set for a big pay day with each player guaranteed at least 88,500 dollars should they win their third Africa Cup of Nations here in Angola, officials have disclosed.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have already announced that each player will get 30,000 if they qualify the team to the knockout stage of Angola 2010 and a draw with Mozambique on Wednesday in Lubango will earn them this bonus.

Officials informed that the Super Eagles, as the Nigeria team are known by their fans, could almost triple this bonus if they go all the way and clinch the trophy on January 31 at the November 11 Stadium in Luanda.

A breakdown of this payment showed a win in the quarter-finals will earn each player another 10,000. Victory in the semi-final means each player will pocket an additional 15,000, while winning the final will make each player another 20,000 richer.

The NFF now pay each player a daily camping allowance of 500, meaning that for the three weeks they will be in Angola, a player will be paid another 10,500.

They have already pocketed 3,000-a-man as an appearance fee for the competition, bringing the total of these bonuses to 88,500.

The NFF and the Presidential Task Force for the 2010 World Cup will each contribute half of these payments.

"It is now left for the players to earn it," said a top NFF official.

The NFF have also made it a rule for the Eagles to now travel in more comfort and so each player is now entitled to fly business class during any international engagement.

Besides huge financial rewards, players were given houses and national honours by the Nigerian government when they won the Nations Cup in 1980 and 1994.

Well, well Not so optimistic now are we, saved by a hand-ball and the cross-bar, we can now see the hand-writing on the wall.

Well I am not one for predictions without proper stats for Mozambique, but i can tell you this, whether the SE are looking to redeem their image or not. Mozambique will play as planned. we will play as we have always played. with a lot of luck and mistakes from the opponent.

If Mozambique play this way
1: Tight Mid-field
2: Wing-play especially from TTaiwo's end
3: Crosses from Corners/Free kicks and Long Throws just outside the box-18

We are done for, absolutely dead, otherwise I predict a 1-1 or 2-2 draw. Mozambique are not so tight defensively. but have good attacking style (4-4-2) I don't know why we are not playing 4-4-2

You are a very lucky man I tell you, I had a similar experience in 2005 on Kakawa road when it was not as smooth and civil as it is these days. remember that Junction where they accost VISA seekers going to the American Embassy? wink

I made sure to have all updated documents C-caution, bumper-stickers with alternating stripes (not vertical), Fire extinguisher, Dustbin, Radio License, MOT, Insurance etc. When i was stopped, I calmly greeted them and they immediately asked me to come down and open my boot. later they moved to search the car and i watched them carefully so they do not plant cocaine or something incriminatory, then they asked for my car papers which i had conveniently photo-copied in 3 copies and filed in separate folders. they spent at least 10 minutes going through it and one of them suddenly shouted at the other to start searching me, "SACH him well well!!" I asked what i had done to be searched that way, he brought my driver's license back and told me it was fake, I know what i went through at City Hall to get a valid License and this guy tells me it was fake. I said no problem, Let us go to City Hall and confirm,, they said no. they would rather take me to Ikeja. I refused immediately asking passers-by to please help me show them a valid drivers license (Trust Nigerians) they looked the other way. At the end of 1+hr (they had taken my car keys by then). Some Police Van carrying one of their oga drove by and asked what the matter was. I told him I made sure i went through the right channels to get all the required papers. I was even willign to pay the penalty and get the right documents if the license was proven to be fake. The guy looked at me surprised and asked, Why did u not pay them, why are you wasting our time here. Do you know I can arrest you for willful ignorance of the law?

I was shocked, they asked for N5,000 or get my vehicle towed to Ikeja. I would never forget that day. I took a bike to Ikoyi and borrowed money and came back to pay my way out of the Jam, I asked what will happen if the next checkpoint arrests me for the same crime, They took my car license and scribbled something and signed/dated and told me to show it at any checkpoint, this is 2 hrs later. I left and surely i was stopped at Bar-Beach Junction. I gave them my papers and they went through it and looked at my drivers license and waved me on, angry

The reason why the Biblical version of this story (Recorded over a thousand years before Bible History) is not clear is because it was poorly plagiarized

"On that day when there is no snake, when there is no scorpion, when there is no hyena, when there is no lion, when there is neither dog nor wolf, when there is thus neither fear nor trembling, man has no rival! At such a time, may the lands of Shubur and Hamazi, the many-tongued, and Sumer, the great mountain of the me of magnificence, and Akkad, the land possessing all that is befitting, and the Martu land, resting in security — the whole universe, the well-guarded people — may they all address Enlil together in a single language! For at that time, for the ambitious lords, for the ambitious princes, for the ambitious kings, Enki, for the ambitious lords, for the ambitious princes, for the ambitious kings, for the ambitious lords, for the ambitious princes, for the ambitious kings — Enki, the lord of abundance and of steadfast decisions, the wise and knowing lord of the Land, the expert of the gods, chosen for wisdom, the lord of Eridug, shall change the speech in their mouths, as many as he had placed there, and so the speech of mankind is truly one."[2]

Early days yet, as FBS said.

However there are gaps in our formation strategy that is evidenced throughout the game, questionable performance by some players especially in the mid-field and at the back (I won't mention names before some EPL fans maul me). Then again you could say Coach Amodu had a plan for Egypt that failed, he cannot adopt the same strategy for other teams unless they have similar playing characteristics.

Like i said. Early days yet

I was driving to LUTH via Lawanson when some traffic at a crucial junction sprang-up due to fuel queues. A smartly dressed military personnel came up to a car that was stuck in the middle of the road blocking traffic from the intersecting road (that had a military truck trying to get in). He stepped up to the window and asked the Driver (quite politely) Move back, The driver who had kids in the car (most likely his) pointed to the car in front of him and behind saying that there is no space. The military guy barked once more MOVE BACK!!! and the driver insisted that there was no space, before you could say "WMDs cost me the parliament", he received a slap and a punch (because slapping a guy in a car is not as effective). The guy behind, obviously shocked and furious, came out in protest challenging the military guy, My word! i did not realize that the entire Idi-Araba environs is filled with Military people in plain clothes, they pounced on the guy and pushed him into a nearby gutter. they dragged the other guy out of the car and beat the bjesus out of him and pushed his car to the side of the road, his kids were still crying when i drove past. everybody was watching and people simply hissed their discontent from afar.

Politics › Re: General Brutalises Innocent Citizen Again by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:12pm On Jan 11, 2010
like most posters will agree,  S.hit happens everyday in Naija.

1: Question a car driving against traffic (for no reason obviously) and you will surely get 2-3 hot slaps and a boot to the nuts (if it is in the morning)
2: Wear a fashion clothing with green or desert camouflage design (you will surely get beaten to a vegetable pulp)
3: Make a soldier repeat a question no matter how silly (You will get beaten until you answer the question,  no matter how silly)
4: Walk up to a girl on the street and ask for her number,  you will be visited by her military boy-friends who will polish the caps of their boots on your chin

When you encounter a Military personnel in plain-clothes or uniform,  always assume the position (regardless of your position) cower like a rain-beaten dog in the cold and sputter,  sorry Sir! Yes Sir! I am sooo sorry,  leaning downwards and covering your face with one hand and your t.esticles with the other.

If you cannot recognize a military personnel in plain clothes, here are some tips,  they will most likely be
1: low-cut and clean-shaven with bloodshot eyes
2: low-cut and clean-shaven with clear eyes but an impatient look (like he is late for a parade)
3: they will have supreme confidence to call you with one finger (this is your cue act like a rain-beaten dog)

Friendly advise,  never, ever mess with a Military personnel (Male or Female),  always beg when you realize your folly (attempt at fighting for your civil rights,  it always fails)

Christianity Etc › Redeemed Christian Church Of God Is The Best: But I Have Questions by lagerwhenindoubt(op): 2:34pm On Jan 11, 2010
In these harsh economic times when one should be moving closer to God. I decided to dive in deep into the hustle for any job besides my day job, even photo-copying with company materials grin and pirating DVD copies of the Bible to a local church close by.

Well, I sort of noticed that all my colleagues have someplace they go to every Friday and it has to do with one Camp or the other. A recent employee just got a raise 2 months into the Job and I asked him how come? He said, We Thank God and proceeded to ask which Church I attended. I said. anyone that closes before 8.AM and has very little singing and dancing because that tends to get my metabolism up and thus makes me too hungry to listen to the sermon. He says I should become a member of any Redeemed Church closest to me and there will be positive changes in my life. He pointed out how most of our colleagues have changed their lives for the better.

Anyways, I proceed to there website for more information.

http://rccg.org/about;our_fundamental_belief/index.rccg

After a cursory look at this page, a few things caught my attention, Please do not see this as negative, i simply need to know if i can by-pass or probably apply these changes after becoming a member

THE DEDICATED CHRISTIAN
The dedicated Christian would avoid foolish talking or jesting, Eph. 5:4. He or she would not wear clothing of the opposite sex, Deut. 22:5. Marriage would be esteemed honorable in all respects in the life of the dedicated Christian, and he or she would be a hearer as well as a doer of the Word of God at all times.

Does that mean we cannot make jokes or talk foolishly about football teams or an ailing president or a public official who got caught stealing public funds, I just need an explanation to the above so i am sure what i can live with or without

PROPHECY IN THE CHURCH
We believe in all the prophecies in the Bible; likewise we believe that we can be given the gift of prophecy by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit - I Cor. 14:29. Despise not prophesying - I Thess. 5:20. But any prophecy that is against the Bible is rejected.

I did not get that part (in bold) I just need an explanation to the above so i am sure what is being presented

DEBTS FORBIDDEN
Any member of this Church must not willfully enter into any debt which he finds difficult to repay for the Bible teaches us "owe no man anything, but to love one another" - Rom. 13:7-8. About Debt: 1. Monetary Debt 2. Debt of promise or Vow - Ps. 105:8 3. Debt of time - Eccl. 3:1-8 4. Debt of not preaching the Gospel - I Cor. 16-17

My side-business runs on revolving debt, i cannot do without it, (at least for now), is there an option for a waiver or can securitization of debts pass for non-pure debts

WORLDLINESS FORBIDDEN
The Bible teaches us to abstain from all appearance of evil - I Thess. 5:22. "But follow after righteousness, faith, love, purging ourselves from unclean things so that we may be vessels unto honor, sanctified, and prepared unto every good work" - II Tim. 2:21-22. Therefore we must not see our Church members in dancing halls, or cinema halls, reveling, for such things are works of the flesh. All people doing such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God - Gal 5:19-21; I Peter 4:3-4; Prov 31:4-5; Rev. 1:5-6; Gen 19:30-38.

Sometimes, our colleagues have birthdays or are celebrating the closure of a deal that took months, we often take the night out to go to a bar or watch movies at Silver-bird or simply go to the beach and revel, is this rule a must?

Swearing and Cursing Forbidden

All Christians should not swear or curse or blaspheme for we were not taught of Jesus in such a way. "Bless, and curse not" Rom. 12:14. Swear not at all, neither by Heaven, nor bye the earth or any other swearing. But let your yes by yes, and No be No so that you do not run into condemnation - Matt. 5:34; James 5:12.

I took an oath of office swearing on the Bible and once during my wedding. does that disqualify me

Nigerians, why is it far from us to accept reality rather than drama and fiction

FACTS as they happened (or so we are told)
1: President is ill (gravely ill) and we all know that as a matter of fact
2: He goes in for an operation that is successful but he is unable to greet us that he is well, That is understandable, he needs his rest and recovery, after all a simple appendix operation can have you bed-ridden for a week talk less of what he went through
3: He is alleged to have spoken to a government official amidst rumors of his death (he jokingly asks for kunu to quench his thirst). At this stage we can assume he is alive
4: Budget is signed, sealed and delivered from His Excellency without the usual chaos and delays that typically accompanies the previous occasions. (hhhmmnn now we should have smelt that something was up)
5: It has been weeks after the kunu incident and his royalness cannot send us a video of him waving, Even MJ with his masked nose waved out the window) instead he calls a few officials who after seeing and speaking with him cannot recall with certainty whether he is alive and well or dead but talking from the spirit world (At this stage i knew the game was up and our dear nigga was dead)
6: Mutallab tried to blow up a Delta flight, it is news across the world and Umaru could not get in touch with Obama on his hotline (which every world president have access to) to stave off the diplomatic chaos that followed. instead, he again calls in a few of his men to deliver a word to the Senate to create a strong Lobby group to handle the matter, instead they give the US a 7-day Ultimatum (Against his wishes), why many of us still believe our President was alive at this stage, I have no idea  angry
