KunleOshob:Thumbs up !! Pastors following this equals been a good christian!! |
Of course it is allowed and people do it in northern Nigeria. Aisans, arabs and other parts of the world do it well. The only problem arises when ur raised together then you would never imagine she could be your wife. ![]() |

JJYOU:Zakat is an obligation in islam. It is a shame there is no proper or singular Zakat body in Nigeria where the zakat could channeled to the actual needey. There are very few people who pay the zakah as many imams dont collect it and dont enforce it. These imams are safe guarding themselves from the wrath of God since they they have to account for every penney and how it was utilised. It is only when there is an organised zakah body in form a a charity organisation could the real needy benefit on a massive scale. Having said this many muslims pay their zakat themselves by passing it to the needy directly which could be done in our society. The imams dont demand nor charge zakah because it is not their duty to collect it but the duty of the overall leader of the muslim state. |
mukina2:Since u get bia bia go bring your fadheelah cum here ![]() |
I think we have to strike a balance here. The term eid ul malud can be said is wrong because we have the valid eids in islam which is tied to the 5 pillars with the exception of the the shahadah which is a proclamation. Eid of salah - is Jumah Eid of Ramadhan - Eid ul fitr Eid of Zakah - The day u pay it which is once a year Eid of hajj - Eid al adha However commemorating the birthday of the prophet cannot be said its bidah because the issue of bidha is not as black and white as some people might think.(This is an extensive topic which i cannot dwelve into here) . The prophet acknowledging his birthday by fasting on it is is a form of comemoration and any permitted way of comemmoration is allowed within the confines of the shariah. What should be condemned or frowned at is the manner of celeberation but not the mawlud nabiy itself. One could have gatherings to remind us about the life of the prophet birth and death as well cos both happened in the same month and probably the same day. Gatherings to remind of his sunnah and salawat on him, charity to help the poor and other good deeds. The extreme notion of condemning mawlud and terming it bidah in my humble opinion is not strictly correct. The first people that celebrated mawlud were in the times tabi tabi'in, these people(enemies of islam) celeberated the death of the prophet which is the greatest calamity to have befallen the ummah of Islam. The tabi tabi'in responded by comemorating his birth by perfoming virtuous deds, reminders and promoting the love of the prophet. The tradition had followed on since till this day. The main principle lies in the prophet comemorating his birthday by perfoming the good deed of fasting. A public day on this day is good and helps muslim remember the prophet and increase their love for him. And allah knows best. |

rather than concentrate our energies on what happened abt 30/40 years ago, that man is gone and gone. Lets loot at our future and how we would learn from history and move forward. |
Who says there is no ideology , where would you put the common ideology of looting. There is an ideology, the question is do they have any positive political cum developmental ideology? |
There are 3 threads already for this here lets concentrate on one not duplicating threads. |

KunleOshob:Spot on and I could not agree with you less. To be honest when i watch that emmanuel TV I feel jelous and impressed at the way he helps the needy. His intentions are out of sight to humans but only God and we can only assess him on what we see. someone buys a jet for 4 billion and another spends a fraction of that in helping the poor. Most of the other ones their money is used in building univerities which are non assisble to 80% of the congregation due to the price. |
Na so Fayose becomes a godfather for Ekiti and he his barely 47 or 48 |
Fayose: Ekiti people don’t want Oni to return 10/3/2009 From Odunayo Ogunmola, Ado-Ekiti and Gbenga Omokhunu, Abuja Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose yesterday ruled out the return of his successor, Mr. Olusegun Oni, who was sacked by the Court of Appeal on February 17. He said on a radio programme in Ado-Ekiti that majority of the people did not want Oni to return to office. According to Fayose, he will not go against the wishes of the people. He spoke just as he took possession of his personal property trapped in the Government House following his forced exit in 2007. The Acting Governor, Mr Olatunji Odeyemi, released the personal property to him. The government handed over three vehicles to him, which, he said Oni had allegedly refused to release to Fayose, despite several representations made to the sacked governor. The vehicles are a convertible Mercedes Benz SLK 320, a Jaguar car and a Kia Optima car, which Fayose showed reporters in the front of the Government House. Fayose criticised the failure of the Oni administration to release his personal effects and thanked Odeyemi whose regime he likened to that of the former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar. Fayose, who had earlier spoken on a live phone-in programme on Radio Nigeria Progress FM, Ado-Ekiti, said going by the feelings of the people, Oni should "consider himself a goner who has bidden a goodbye to the Government House." He said he would monitor the re-run, especially in Iworoko and Are in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area. He said Oni was having difficulties moving freely in Ado-Ekiti and other parts of the state, a difficulty he traced to the fact that "Oni was not the popular choice of Ekiti people at the April 14, 2007 governorship election." Although he said he had not made up his mind on whom to support in the re-run, Fayose added that he would not support Oni who, according to him, has been rejected by the people. He added that, a meeting will be held latest by March 30, to decide who, between Oni and the Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, he and his supporters should back. Fayose said: "We are not going to allow any rigging in the forthcoming re-run election and we are urging INEC to be fair to all parties. We don’t need police at the re-run election because the election will be one-man-one vote and the votes of our people will count this time around. "But I am maintaining that a government that has not done anything for the people and done wrong to the people will not return to the seat of power. The person loved by the people is different from somebody hated by the people, I will not tell you who will win the election but Oni is gone already. "I know I can’t contest in the re-run, but I will support the man Ekiti people want to elect as their governor and I want to assure you that the candidate that I will support will get at least 80 per cent and the person I don’t support cannot get more than 20 per cent and if he gets more than that, I will leave politics and become a full-time farmer and hunter. "They said they want to arrest me, let us wait and see how that could be possible because we are not in the era of Obasanjo. If the people of the state say they don’t want you, you can’t impose yourself on them and we will work with Ekiti people to make the change they have craved for possible. "We are not going to remove only Oni but we are going to remove (Senator) Arise too because after Oni has been disgraced at the coming election, Arise too will follow him when the Appeal Court has carried out the wishes of the people of the state." The AC in Osun State has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allow the court-ordered re-run election to hold without any acrimony, or violence. In a statement in Osogbo by its Director of Research and Strategy, Hon Sunday Akere, the party accused the leadership of the PDP of deliberately orchestrating violence in Ekiti to cause tension. Citing the invasion of the rallies of Fayemi at Ijan Ekiti and Ise Orun last week by people led by the ousted Deputy Governor, Dr. Sikiru Lawal, Osun AC said the actions should not be mistaken for a happenstance since the PDP was bent on scuttling the re-run election if it discovered it could not win. Wondering why thugs wielding guns, cutlasses and other weapons should be allowed into venues of rallies of rival political parties after legal police permit had been given for such, Osun AC said if the PDP were not checked, the party could precipitate a crisis that would lead to the declaration of emergency rule, which will hamper the conduct of the re-run. It also urged the police and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be neutral during the re-run. The Yoruba Youth Alliance (YYA) and Yoruba Progressive Youth Forum (YPYF) have also urged INEC to disallow rigging in the forthcoming re-run election. The groups, after a meeting yesterday in Abuja, warned all stakeholders against rigging. A statement by the National Leader of the YYA Mr. Jackson Lekan Ojo and Leader of the YPYF, Mr. Abiodun Ogunmuyiwa, said that they were still watching the outcome of election appeals in Ogun, Oyo, Osun and Rivers states. http://www.thenationonlineng.com/dynamicpage.asp?id=79232 |
To be honest though The charity works of TB josuha are amazing and gives him a good PR. I do watch the emmanual tV and have seen his charity works from south africa to Singapore and other asian countries. This charity at least pours money back to the flock compared to the money being used to build universites in order to make more money while the poor wouldnt be able to attend. It is also better than the money been used to buy a 4 billion naira private jet and another 200 million for annual maintenance !! |
@Ayinba You signature is wonderful and it is what I try to explain to people there is nothing like moderate or liberal muslim. you are simply muslim!!!!. Back to topic. I think there are always lots of sisters at universities if it is Nigeria and i am sure quite a number would be interested in a fruitful relationship. Unilag i know there are quite a bunch of sisters there, MICA in those days used to have a number of sister seeking and bros seeking as well , which could very well still be the case. |
You argue like a lil 3 yr old kid "it is a lie, oh you borrow from the bible , oh u are stealing biblical prophecies , oh there are witnesses you dont have witneses bla bla bla" davidylan:This response of yours sums it up. I tell you the right thing and u say u havent seen one. Do you live in muslim homes or something to know?. does not seeing one mean it is not right? You see this is what a primary school kid would say. Rather than be humble and accept what you dont know you prefer to wallow in your ocean ignorance wearing the cloak of arrogance. There is no point arguing with opinionated fellas. It is my fault for replying to your message the first time as i thot you were ready to discuss. When you grow and want to have a matured discussion come back. You are a living example of how not to be a christian and some of ur chrisitan folks would attest to it. There is a christian guy kunleoshob i do respect a lot for his matured way of discussing issues. It is high time you climax from this pleasures of urs as it wouldnt remove a strand of hair from islam!!! |
If i talk anything for here now dem go say lagosboy own too much. kai 4 billion naira !!!! for 1 jet , Glory be to God!!! |
what are u insunating here Muki are u saying u have a beard ![]() |
there are twon main sects in islam and it is Sunnis and shiites. These two sects has been as far back as 1350 yra back and it was after the death of Caliph Umar (RA). We worship at the same Ka'abah and use the same quran. The difference is some core beliefs about the companions of the prophet and other deep issues. OVerall it is only in Post Bush's Iraq u find violent divisions and slightly pakistan. Overall there has been no violent tension in this century. |
Pataki:No worries friend at least we could clarify things without insults which is great. some dudes here cant they would have rained all the inults under the sun to get their point across. |
Why people no dey put their sex sef make dem no dey cos confusion like this . ![]() |
@Reloaded are you married? |
Fellis na man nah why u dey cos confusion for here . you want man to toast man? |
Pataki:The prophet is d symbol of Islam and jesus is the pinnacle of Christianity. Pastor Adeboye is a mere mortal and under no condition should he be equated to the names mentioned above. Pastor Adeboye is not a symbol of chrisitanity but a Christian preacher. If you criticise a mere muslim then no qualms it is when you attack the symbol of islam thats where the issue is my brother. There are several PAstors i do respect and i state them Bishop Gbonigi, Onaiyaeke, Okogie, Tunde Bakare for vairous reasons but most especially their unbridled stand for expressing the truth in public no matter the situation. I am in no way in isolation when it comes to Adeboye. I keep stating the issue i have and it is his relationship with OBJ and the 3rd term saga. There is a thread in the religous section by Duro Onabule on Adeboye which is quite insightfull. I have a feeling you are RCCG member which is no issue at all and i apologise if you feel hurt when he his attacked but lets be honest enough to accept when he his wrong as he his a human being like me and you and not Jesus in any way. |
Bro Blims was this 150 million or 150 billion cos i50 billion is like $1billion. |
