Arabs account for only 12% of the worlds muslim population today and arab is not synonymous to Islam. The arabic language is the language of the quran and muslims observe their 5 obligatory salah in arabic. However a muslim can supplicate to God in any damn language he so pleases contrary to what many people think.

The Prohphet (PBUH) said in his last sermon " No arab is superior to a non arab and vice versa . . . . " . . .what separates you is your God consciousness and not the skin colour"

Many of the early islamic scholars were not arabs in the least and some were even from the Russian caucuses like Bukhari who was from there. Qurtubi from Qurtuba in spain just to mention a few. Many of the early islamic scientist as well were not arabs.

Bilal the prophets companion whom he loved so much and use to call the prayer for him was black and not originally arab. He couldnt even pronounce the letter "sh" in arabis well and used to say "S" instead and made the calll to prayer like that.

There are arab jews, arab christians, arab muslims and arab atheists. Arab is a race and islam is a faith that transcends race.

The two holy sites in islam are in a country called Saudi Arabia doesnt mean the Saudi regime is islamic. Holy pilgrimage is a duty on every muslim regardless of who is in control of the polical machinery of Saudi.  You have to look at this issue in perspective and not narrow it down like you said.

I detest the House of Saud and they dont represent Islam. Monarch system is not part of islam and it is also not part of islam that one family would rule a country. The Saudi regime would pick on little things and make it a big issue in islam while their useless princes indulge in extreme vulgarity and lewdness. They would never see the big issue of their royal house been illegitmate in the first instance.

I see it as exposing the sorry state of affairs in Saudi-Arabia. Just like Lagosboy said, and I've been saying for some time now, the House of Saud is an oppressive cabal. They use Islam to subdue and oppress the people, to keep them in check; as if Islam will not exist without them. We've seen this in the past when monarchies in Europe used Christianity to brutally oppress the people. Today, it is happening in Saudi Arabia, and a few other countries.

honestly you should own up and accept in the light of overwhelming evidence the pastor was ordered to pay £200,000 this is what some people term as fine. Tell her we are all in this life for a purpose. We were created by the most high and the sole duty we owe him is to worship him and every things stems from that. God shower mercies and blessings on us everyday and we have to show appreciation by giving him thanks. A grateful slave of Allah would always be happy to worship him as this is the essence of creation Q51 v 56. Worshiping him out of Love for him is real sincerity.

Tell her to take things easy and take time to read the quran together with a tafseer (probably ibn kathir which is available in English). Explain to her not think every muslim she meets is a saint or holy as this is mostly the opposite, she would discover the real teachings of islam this way and not by looking at every single muslims attitude unfortunately (myself inclusive). Good company (This is very important) would help and preserve her Islam.

Let her understand that this life is a means to an end. We are in here for a while and we shall al depart to meet our lord someday. Our actions in this world would be a determining factor in the afterlife hence, the need to amass good deeds as that is the only thing we would take with us in the lil hole 6ft below the ground.

If US President Obama does extend a bridge of partnership between the Muslim world and the West,  he would be wise to initiate that diplomatic dialog by engaging with Islamic leaders who display the tolerance and sense of justice  shown by our Lagosboy.

The truth is there is none existing today. There is no single islamic state in the world today no to talk of practising the proper implementation of the shariah. I stand to be corrected though.

The segregation of sexes as applied in saudi in not strictly how the segregation was in the time of the prophet (SAW). Women saw men and men saw women in those times, women would treat the injured, and some even struggled together side by side men. Women prayed in the mosques behind men and there was no physical barrier involved.

The extreme segregation in Saudi stemms from the of the saudi culture as i wouldnt even say arab culture as other non gulf arabs dont have the same understanding.

If the story is true as it is then the verdict is definatley wrong.

Firstly this old woman is past the youthful age and the quran clearly states that at such advanced ages even her male servants could see her without her full hijab. She is past the age where the ruling on full covering applies to her.

Secondly here is a widow whose husbads brother delivers her food and is being arrested. Who else would help her ( as no kids were mentioned) . This woman is still been treated as a foreigner in Saudi even after marriying a saudi man and probably lived there since her young age. It is just a shame Damn the "house of saud" or probably "house of salut" !!!

The prophet (PBUH) used to visit some old women in his time and even used to visit the best friend of Khadijah his wife long after Khadijah had passed away. He visited her and probably took gifts for her.

plenty of muslim chics at MCS societies on most campuses. Problem i have noticed is many muslim guys do not want to be seen with serious muslim sisters. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

The issue is most of those muslim guys arent serious themselves and are looking for chics to hit which they know normally most of the serious sistas wouldnt do so out of respect they leave them alone and go indulge in their desires. When they are looking for proper marriage they would prefer to be with these sistas instead and that is the reality!!
