Buhari sunk the country's economy to new depths with his ineptitude and nonchalance to intricate economic matters leaving key decisions to his minions to do as they wish often times to their own benefit. Tinubu seems to be more educated in these things. Change is also expected when administration switches, the skeletons of past administrations are brought to the open but this is a normal practice. Buhari also did his initial gragra with EFCC back then. Cbn is releasing records of past 7 years (Buhari's tenure )I don't think Baba is a messiah and I rooted for a different candidate but I hope things get better. |
accordadoga29:Please put ámí next time. Had to read twice before I got it. ![]() Akòtilètá, írankìran etc |
I only know of TIV's strong pounded yam |
Kevineleven:Lol, this is even funnier. If you were in the same shoes, you would try to reach for the attacker's gun? ![]() Forget all those self defense videos on TikTok, they are debunked as well. You have a slim chance of grabbing an attacker's gun except you're specially trained in sharp reflexes and hand strength/combat. A mistake in that scenario is definitely death. |
Angelfrost:and that's why I emphasized that it won't work. the shooter had shot at the fleeing boy and the two lying bodies. A situation where they were both defenceless and posed no threat to him. There was literally nothing they could have done but run from him. Kneeling or begging will even inflame the killer's anger. |
Angelfrost:So what should he have done. Kneel and beg? |
Omoawoke2:And so he should lunge at the attacker? What are you guys saying? Walking away was a way to diffuse the situation. Your best defence from a gunman is to create as much distance between you both as much as possible. Better yet, walks backwards, but turning his back shows he is no longer interested in the confrontation and that makes the crime more premeditated. I hope you also read that the attacker went to the two prone bodies and fired off at least 2 more shots execution style. |
Did I see 2.5m? Naij! No chill ![]() A vehicle that would have spent almost 5 years in Nigeria when dollar was still around #700, now some seller will say USD is expensive and wants to sell at twice the price for twice the depreciation. A lot of people won't make heaven with their business practices. |
ChybuzzDD:That quoted metric is figurative. I know it's not 100% certain you contract the virus everytime you copulate with a carrier. |
Hezzyluv:Probably because there's an active investigation ongoing. |
Ihee01:Assuming she wins the case, how much will she recoup? #80k? 20k for lawyer? who knows how much for transportation and the lengthy period before a verdict is reached at both high and appeal court? Maybe customary court will be better. She better go the street way or count her losses. |
FarSide:Go to a far away anonymous hospital and do the test. If anything, the result is only known to you. HIV prevalence is 2.1%. Those are really slim odds of meeting someone with one besides the rate of infection is about 50% when you go unprotected with a carrier (except you've been dealing with high risk individuals) Either way, it's for your own peace of mind. You'd confirm you're truly negative or you take it in good fate and start treatment. There's no loss in a taking a test. |
Timagex:Collect for what exactly? Same car a spare part dealer advertised to me for #400k few years back? This is at best a 1999/2000 / series. The car is not as popular as the 2004 S-Class and a good condition Toks S-class won't even sell for that price.

Someone hired you, put a roof over your head with a good bed, gives you cash and food much more than your job pays. Also allows you to have your breaks as needed. In short a balanced life just for sleeping, waking and cleaning the compound. Yet you blame him for how you manage your life and finances. He didn't force you to stay there or collect money or food. If you don't have money, will you eat as much as you do? Do you know how other employees in your company in other places are faring? You are exhibiting typical signs of a poverty mindset. You get small money/comfort/opportunity and start misbehaving; claiming you deserve more. How much have you earned, you are already eating 25k in 1 week and plan to buy a big phone and open POS. Leave that job and poverty will romance you once again. Were you using your destiny effectively when you were on your own? Or does destiny mean sitting somewhere and money will be coming? You better follow the one that can utilize your destiny for you and give you some of its benefits. |
ValarinzAutos:Why don't you sell the V series? |
1Sharon:Not to drag this issue and I'm not in Canada as well so I can't say I understand the specific context but the same clubs that cater to Nigerian music and the like, isn't it Africans like yourself you meet there? She complained about sharing an apartment with someone she can't even talk to. Invite fellow Nigerians to hangouts and 8 out of ten times, they will ghost because they have to go to work even on weekends. Should we party on Mondays then? ![]() I'm not hating but e get as e be. I agree however that once she blends in some more, she'd be fine. |
Kobojunkie:While it may not be so isolated, it is not as liberal as you describe. It's part of the culture shock on how everyone stands for themselves even if you're so open and social. The fault is not entirely on her. I believe you may have friends from other races but I won't believe you bond as easily as you would with Nigerians in Nigeria. If I'm wrong, we won't be seeing indians and orientals huddling respectively in cliques as well. |
Kobojunkie:I agree with you. I won't agree I'm lying though, we just see this issue from different perspectives. |
I feel sorry for her. It's so bad especially when you're coming from a socially vibrant place like Nigeria. The western culture is so isolated. Hello, Hi and that's all. Anyone you take as a friend is just for drinks/party o, if you assume any other type of attachment, you're on your own except it's your nuclear family. What I don't understand is why people act like it is okay to live that way. Even Africans keeping to themselves like the whites only to get to their rooms and cry out of boredom. Because nothing can come close to true friendship, not Netflix not studies not work. She should try to visit Naija every year. Spend at least two weeks greeting and gyrating with family and friends, chop suya and drink our cheap beer. Enter club and shake body, not all that Tecno electro music. |

I won't bore you with long talk but what I'd say is from experience. You will hardly find a job role that you're happy doing. You will eventually get tired of the monotony, office politics and even your wages after a while. Why? It's simply because companies do not give 2 cents about you or your passions no matter how much they talk about their social values and how they value their employees. Companies only want employees that improve their profit figures. You can't get it in business as well because your client is your boss and you'd do what they want or you'd run out of business. You can only follow passion when you have so much you don't need to rely on anyone ever again. And how do you do that? Make as much money as you can right from yesterday. The earlier you hit your monetary value where you can't go broke again, the better for you. Everyone has their idea of this sum but for me it's a million USD. If you earn 10% of $1.2m every year by stuffing your money in a hedge fund or something, you can live comfortably anywhere in the world on a salary of $10,000 per month doing absolutely nothing but following your passion. |
Not to beat a dead horse but the universities on ground are still on wobbly feet yet the administration is proposing new ones. Opening more institutions that'd be going on strike every 6 months. There's nothing bad in having just 12 well funded and top tier universities in the country. Convert the rest to technical schools and research centers. Raise the academic standards that only the best of geniuses gain admissions. Let the rest learn practical trade and business skills and establish businesses we are in dire need of. That will mop up our vast population that is largely unemployed and close up the our demand-skill deficit. |

Heishumble:Mokola is a good location for your brother who is into graphic design. he should go to Uncle Joe and hustle up, he`d find clients. He may have to hold on sourcing for design contracts in the meantime and see if he could try his hands at more physical jobs like lithography, paper trimming etc. For screening and other jobs, this is usually a networking thing. People who do this rarely stay in shops but actively hustle individual contracts. Of course its a gradual process to build the contracts, have you written your contact details on walls and poles in areas of new development? Go down eleyele route, I`m sure you'd find there. Akala express is also a good place as far as I know. Go to `gate` where you source building materials and network with the dealers there. You can even meet clients who want to buy materials for their house and exchange numbers. Hook up with house agents and explain your plight, they can link you to landlords or tenants who want to fix their house. Talk about them getting a commission on every deal to tickle their ears. Just like your brother, you are in survival mode. Look for anything that will bring in some cash everyday, even if it #500 you'd use to eat. Its not a good experience to be penniless in a new place/location. Desperate times call for desperate measures now my friend. |
SmartPolician:Wait until you see the blasians and mixed races with dark complexion. |
Rich4god:Yeah, it's all on the market. The top and most expensive schools do pay their teachers well. It's struggling low-level private schools that provide next to forced-labour employment. Bottom line is money is the root of all operations. No matter the values any institution talks about, they must make money to survive and look attractive. |
Rich4god:Are you talking about the same funds that go into the private pockets of greedy politicians? One of these things can happen; It's either more attention is placed in the quality of our education and there's increased budgetary allowance Or privatisation: which is why private schools/teachers charge so much. |
Did someone pack C4 explosives into the transformer or what? First the report stated fire and then electrocution. Transformers only throw sparks in the air not explosions like bombs...and how did people get trapped in their houses, they could not evacuate before being burned alive. I'm lost. Modified: it appears they do. 0.1% chances though |
