Tell that to the Alhajis up north who are actively seeding women after 30/40 children. They hardly recognize thier offsprings as they are so many.

grin grin When I know the calibre of vehicles I can get with a stated amount like #5m but I see the car advertised for the same price. No suprises as some people will fancy a car like this and won`t mind splurging their cash on it. Every mallam with his own kettle.

Wow!

Odekunle Oddy, wordsmith. Those who lived in Indy hall , University of Ibadan around 2007 to 2011 will definitely remember him. He was a member of Indy Hall Press those years and very popular in UI then.

So sad!
Oddy was a close friend and I was a Zikite. He was silent about his predicament but you could see he had a lost a lot of weight from his physical form.

Bloggers like to give sensational headlines but he had defied Doctor's death time predictions for well over a year.

@egobetterforme is the lady in question hardworking and compliant?

If you find no other fault in her other than her beauty or lack of it, then you should adopt a positive mindset. Is there any reason why your mother wants you to marry the girl, she must have said something. Sometimes it's best not to fiddle with destiny, you never know if the girl is there to bring you good luck, security or peace of mind.

You can touch her up, send her to school, get her beautiful clothes and social etiquette.

Baztardidiot:
When u know you stay in the slums. Is it a must u park your car outside. Don't u guys have a gate into the entrance. Are there no security guards around. Next time. Don't be riding car into slums. Look for a bank close to u. Tip the security men 10k or even 5k. When it's getting late.drive there and park it. Or better still remove the tyres and forget about car.i thought camry 2.2 was only prone to theft at delta. Times are hard and tokunbo cars are extremely high.imagine camry of 1.7m is now 3.5m. A whole camry 2.2. Pele o. I'm sure it must have been raced to owode onirin or ladipo for immediate butchering. And the camry still clean o.men count your loss .if u had used steering lock.highest will be brainbox...
From the picture alone you can deduce that its quite normal to park along the street. This is assuming you are not familiar with Llagos which I doubt. How many bank security officials will allow you to park in their compound for 10k? Per night or per week?

@Op, i think you should accept the loss and move on or go file a report at the police station. There's nothing much you can do really. That is one of the reasons why the significance of a tracker or wheel and pedal lock should not be underestimated.

You will get a better car in the near future. My consolations

It's nice but I can bet he didn't pay that #1.4bn for the car. It's likely on lease with monthly payments which are significantly lower but still a substantial amount.

Good to see Nigerian artists making and spending the big bucks.

Many are going to get killed for this. Trust me, drug barons don't play.
No one is getting killed. This is a not so rare occurrence. some smugglers place lots pf parcels on floating platforms across the ocean in a bid to beat border security. Some of the packages are found by the navy, some fall into the water.

I have a friend who was a dive guide for tourists in South America. He said they came across packages like this one or twice floating randomly in the ocean. They simply recover the package and contact one of the local barons onshore who gives them commissions after the drug has been sold. Usually a little percentage but still substantial like $20,000 and the whole dive team shares the bounty.

Forums are not social media

Social media is not worth it , it's used to be something interesting back in the dot com era now it's shit

The only social media or anything close to it I recommend is federated software or secure messengers
I'm done with this conversation.

Valerieee:
am I losing so much by being invisible Online?
Social media like instagram can be quite valuable with connecting and keeping in touch with old and distant friends and acquaintances. At a certain age, you just cant pick up your phone and dial or text everybody. Social media like Whatsapp makes it easier. Sometimes just seeing someone's status is enough to let you know they are still alive and doing fine. Sometimes I just drop a smiley or drop a quick message.

Heck my active groups on Whatsapp today are my extended family; aunties, uncles and grandparents, another for cousins, another for old school mates, old club mates etc. It just makes connecting much easier. Meetups with colleagues and church is also online, someone just suggests where we should hang out one evening and posts a live location and time. Who has time to be calling you on phone? How do yu tell your colleagues you missed the bus if your few best friends are not picking their calls?

Additionally, when you stay in some countries up north (Europe and the like) some people are more comfortable giving you their Snapchat ID or Instagram handles than their telephone numbers...and believe it, when you change numbers once or twice it becomes hard to keep track of people on your contact list, contacts that will be quite beneficial in the future.

If you don't have at least one active account, you better start growing it now.

Business is tough, get a licensed business developer to guide you, I am one.
There are many government incentives you can leverage, you can also get many inputs free or super cheap, and you may not have to spend all your 1 M.
Good suggestions.

In addition @Kilisi, I will reiterate that you continue with your job and look for how you can manage the farm on the side (don't splurge on hiring labour if you can do it yourself, save costs). You can plant and forget cassava as it takes 9 months on average. I don't think you can depend solely on smallscale farming for starters. You can also buy grains at harvest time to sell later.

What is needed is multiple sources of income. Even people who have million naira generating businesses still wake 4am and go to their jobs everyday. If you're tired of your current job, look for another one.

Honestly I don't know about your inherent believe about agriculture but I still feel retain belief that farming is a gold mine.If you have to case study to validate your opinion,i also have quite a few to give support to my opinion as well.Furthermore, when I try Google searching about the companies you listed,I found out they were more of an investment company who use farming as a decoy to make potential investors belief their return will be consistently guaranteed. You know all these ponzi/investment company have a modus operandi of running away with investors money when they hit some certain target.
I have made millions from farming on a commercial scale and I can tell you for free, it is a risky venture. Some of the companies are not ponzi but things do spiral out of control with nature, you can't tame it and you can't predict it.

You can make some money from small scale farming but where you really want to be is on the large scale as seasons take time to mature and you need profits that can sustain your lifestyle comfortably. From pests, to low selling prices, to bad weather to herdmen attacks. It is not a business an upcoming entrepreneur should depend solely especially when resources are quite scarce.

He should rather open shop and sell pesticides sef. He will make more money.

Bro modern age farmers are not poor.It is a lucrative business both crop and livestock farming. It only require quite a lot of training and time. But if you put best practices in place,it will definitely yield a good RoI.
Don't be deceived brother, highly liquid companies in farming have gone under. Agrilet, Farmfunded and co for example. Companies with millions to invest and obtain all the resources they need but they went down.

Farming is risky and doesn't pay like trade. Even the USA has the highest costs of farming in crop insurance. No be joke.

Usmanovic95:
Agriculture is the only investment that can guarantee more than an 100% return on investment actually but one has to undergo some training before venturing into it .
So why are farmers poor?

Lonikit, you had better be certain of your mastery of whatever business it is before you put even one naira into it or else loss and debt will be your first and surnames.

My other suggestion is to start a business that requires little to no capital expenditure. Don't spend money on things you can't quickly liquidate and get your money back in the event of things going awry.

A good idea will be to trade something. Even if it's pure water bags or bread. All you need is a table at a good roadside location. Buy direct from producers and sell to motorists in the evenings as they return from work. You have to follow it up with a lot of legwork but that's what you need at the start of a business. When you have some change, you can start aiming for bigger things like a farm or shop.

Even though it evokes nostalgic feelings, the 505 is not all that glamorous. With the door handles that fall apart, flat cushion seats with that Peugeot smell. Hmm

That sound too. Maybe I'd be convinced if it were a 505 V6.

This particular low frame mitsubishi is very useless,Trust me.
No offloading abilities, lacks auxiliary gear, small tires and very weak suspension and hence poor load carrying capabilities, quite slow too and burn a lot of gas.
Avoid mitsubushi L200,I know because I have one exactly like this and it's the worse truck in My fleet.
I know right. About burning gas though, I'm not sure because it's engine is quite small.
