Thank the Almighty Allah.

With the trend of results, I am 100% sure the next governor of Oyo is Senator Ajimobi.

He won Ibadan South west Local Govt. with a wide margin.

In as much as I am not a fan of Ayo Fayose, I support how he treated OBJ. In Yoruba land, the issue of one's paternity is never taken lightly. If OBJ wants to be respected, he should be mindful of what comes out of his mouth. Remember he once used an uncomplimentary words on Prof. Sam Aluko (The world class economics).
Politics / Re: Jonathan Renames Liberty Stadium After Awolowo by Larufa(m): 4:13am On Nov 13, 2010
The renaming of Liberty Stadium after the late sage is an INSULT to every sensible Yoruba. The stadium is nothing but an abandoned FGN property -- THERE IS NOTHING WORKING THERE AS AT TODAY, I'm born and bred at OSOSAMI road, a stone throw from the stadium. I know the stadium inside out. Why did Jonathan not name it after his political Godfather (OBJ)but the best Yoruba man ever to live after our Oduduwa.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i dont know for how long the hopeless and visionless politicians will continue to cling to Awo's name to get votes. GEJ visited Ogun State and renamed a stadium in Oyo State, he really lack ideas. He should rename Nigeria Nnamdi Azikwe to get vote from the Ibo's. What an insult! Mumu president.

These are some of the reasons why Otunba Dipo Dina was killed.

For those who are saying OGD was already financially okay before becoming the Governor, I wish to inform you that he was already bankrupt at as the day he became the Governor owing banks and especially Guaranty Bank, a huge sum of money using his Christel Laurel Building as collateral.

Politics / Re: Best Voting system / Federal Govt Considers Electronic Voting To Curb Rigging by Larufa(m): 3:57am On Jul 12, 2010
I am in support of option A4, a system of practically queuing behind candidates of choice during voting.

It is cheap, reliable and leaves little or no room for rigging or thuggery during the elections.
Politics / Best Voting system / Federal Govt Considers Electronic Voting To Curb Rigging by Larufa(m): 3:48am On Jul 12, 2010
THE Federal Government may adopt electronic voting (eVoting) solution developed locally for next year’s general election (s) as part of plans to use technology to ensure credibility in the electoral process.

A think-tank has been established to look at the viability of the system, it was learnt.

Sources, at the weekend, said the Presidency has sought experts’ opinion on the workability of the scheme.

The request is at the instance of the Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Muhammed Abubakar, whose
ministry developed the eVoting system.

Abubakar argues that the system is simple to deploy and configurable in local languages to suit voters at different polling centres.

Besides, it would ensure transparency and faster release of results.

President Goodluck Jonathan, who recently opened a Facebook page, is asking for the opinion of the think-tank of political and IT experts to determine the suitability of the scheme for next year’s elections.

"The president wants to know if the system can be implemented at a large scale and whether it can be executed at all giving the time frame before the elections," said a senior official in the presidency.

The new e-voting system was first publicly unveiled early this month during a facility tour of Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) by Abubakar.

According to the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT Limited, Ahmed Rufai, the " e-voting system is based on radio frequency identification technology which uses a contact-less card system with enhanced security features like triple DES, PES, AES all embedded in a voting card.

The registered voter identity with his passport photograph and finger print will be on the card to show that he is eligible to vote.

A voter’s finger print will be screened against his card for authenticity and multiple registration.

"Once the finger matches with the one on the card, the voter is then eligible to vote. After a choice of candidate has been made, a printout of the political party, person, time and place he voted will be given to him with a copy placed in the ballot box.

This will prevent multiple registration and voting.

The system also displays the full names and pictures of candidates for various offices being contested for as registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) along with the names and logos of political parties they belong to."

NIGCOMSAT Limited was established by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to operate Nigeria’s communication satellites and develop related technologies in the communication field.

NIGCOMSAT Limited launched the country’s first communication satellite, NIGCOMSAT-1,in 2007 in conjunction with the Chinese government.

NIGCOMSAT-1 packed up in orbit in 2008 due to faults. A replacement satellite NIGCOMSAT-1R is due for launch in 2011.

Built by a team of NIGCOMSAT engineers, the e-Voting system is touted by its promoters as being cost-effective, and user friendly; two factors that are endearing the system to the government.

According to NIGCOMSAT, "a simple guide is embedded in the system and as soon as an individual confirms his or her candidate selection, the cast is recorded and sent to a central server, the system is also designed in such a way that each candidate can monitor the votes coming in and for whom."

The nation’s electoral process has been criticised as one of the worst in the world. President Jonathan has vowed that his priority is to ensure credible in elections next year.

"As much as the President is opened to any idea that could help him achieve his goals for credible elections, he realises that he has to be cautious with the issue of technology in the electoral process. It is left for stakeholders
particularly INEC to determine what extent it would want to deploy technology," said the presidency official.

All successful men have same issue hidden or known.

For you not to fall victim you must HAVE these two:

1. You are poor
2. You are impotent

Not just one but both.

If you are poor and not impotent, you will still find you level.

If you are impotent but rich, you will still want to play along.

With both, you are doomed.

It is madness of the highest level.
Why the classification of Domain, when the resolution process is same?

When my 3 domain names expired, I was asked to pay up(something in the range of 150K) via an email from one the appointed agents of NIRA. I just went to register the names without the .ng costing me less than $60. thereafter did the pointing to the Ip addresses and name servers.

Charging high for domain name registration will not help the country IT growth.
Everything in Nigeria is all about money. I did not paid RANDY RASH (can not remember it name now) to do the initial registration for me. This guy just voluteer his time to do . ng registration for us.

Power vacuum leaves Nigeria `ripe for jihadists'
As media spotlight falls on would-be jet bomber in U.S., ailing president's absence from West African nation is glaring

Violent clashes with religious sects, militant attacks on oilfields, endemic corruption and now the notoriety of a would-be airplane suicide bomber with Nigerian citizenship.

Governing Nigeria would be a 24-hour-a-day job for any leader of the large West African country at the best of times. But with President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua languishing in a Saudi Arabia hospital for more than a month with a serious heart ailment, the timing of the U.S. airline incident could hardly be worse.

Although Yar'Adua signed a crucial $2.6 billion spending bill from his hospital bed this week, calls for his resignation are getting louder.

As the international media spotlight falls on Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's failed attempt to blow up a Delta airliner near Detroit on Christmas Day, Yar'Adua's absence is especially glaring.

The divided country – split between a mainly Muslim north and a largely Christian south – has been fending off extremists from Algeria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. is looking for answers on Al Qaeda's possible presence.

In the wake of the attempted plane bombing, Nigeria's government said it was boosting security in the Lagos airport, where Abdulmutallab boarded a plane for Amsterdam and changed to the Detroit-bound flight.

But in Nigeria, domestic issues are equally pressing, and there are calls for the ailing 58-year-old president to hand over the reins to Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan. Yar'Adua suffers from chronic kidney problems, as well as an acute heart inflammation.

"There are insinuations that since Nigeria's driver's seat has been vacant, the country has run like a vehicle with a full load of passengers yet without anyone controlling its direction," said the nairaland.com news service. It warned there could be a "fatal crash" unless drastic measures are taken to put competent hands on the wheel.

Although Nigeria is one of the world's leading oil producers, its people see few of the benefits: a formula that has led to growing anger, crime and rebellion.

"Ten years of supposed democracy have yielded mounting poverty and deprivation of every kind in Nigeria," said Jean Herskovits of State University of New York in an essay in Foreign Policy magazine. "Young people, undereducated by a collapsed educational system may `graduate,' but only to joblessness."

Meanwhile, Nigeria's traditionally tolerant Sufi Islam is vulnerable to penetration by insurgents and Internet propaganda.

"These currents are growing in strength," says John Campbell of the Council on Foreign Relations and a former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria. Radical imams halted a World Health Organization vaccination program in the north as a plot to limit Muslim births, he points out, and an extremist Islamic sect called Boko Haram staged a violent uprising last July that cost hundreds of lives.

Earlier this week, clashes between militants and Nigerian security forces left at least 38 people dead in the northern city of Baluchi.

Although Yar'Adua was elected in a 2007 poll widely criticized as fraudulent, he pledged to clean up corruption. But since then he has rated mainly failing grades.

Now there are fears that the anger of disadvantaged Muslims – as well as middle-class youths seeking social justice –will fuel new radical movements.

"Social conditions in northern Nigeria make the region ripe for penetration by jihadist Islam and Al Qaeda," said Campbell. "The region's social development statistics are the worst in Nigeria and among the worst in the world."

He added, "the government is all but paralyzed" by Yar'Adna's illness and lack of agreement in elite circles "on a course of action if he dies soon, which is widely expected."
