You Kill somebody = Murder!

You Murder = You get hanged/Killed.

Manslaughter = Inadvertent Killing of another => Medium Jail Sentence

But the girl did not like/want the marriage to the man.
What options does she have, to "defend herself":
1.) Run away ? (2) Kill Herself ? (3.) Contact the Police ?

Rather, she chose to poison not just the man, but also two others!
If at 14yrs, she can muster the "skill, determination and conviction" to murder someone whom she does not "want" ...or even hate, imagine what she would be capable of doing when she is a full adult! shocked shocked shocked

Thank God the Paedophile is dead otherwise, l would recommend life imprisonment for him.

But her Father and Mother who facilitated this "abuse" and collected the prize-money, should also be sent to jail, just as she will snd must pay for her "own actions" ---- Maybe at least 45yrs imprisonment.

@Poster of this thread:
As much as l dont like "Chris-Embassy", l think this article was written in very bad taste and with bad motive.

Good, a few people perpetrated CRIMINALITY on the Lady.
Eventually, Nemesis caught up with them.

One of the four happens to attend "a Remote Parish" Christ Embassy church and because he is an Actor and Musician, he manages the Music Instruments in that obscure Parish!
That is the begining and end of this story!

Now, how does that summary metarmophose into the heading given the thread?
What about the other "three criminals", WHY NO NAME THEIR CHURCH AS WELL?

If like me, you dont like Pastor Chris (for whatever reasons) PLS DO SO WITH DIGNITY.... based on "real issues".

Simply put, it is blissfully-idiotic, foolishly-pedestrian and petty, to try to muddy a whole Church, based on the behaviour of one member.

Romance › Re: Six Things You Should Never Do For A Man Even When In Love by lastpage: 8:53pm On Dec 02, 2014
Looking at the "seven tips" given by the poster concerning relationships, it is not only silly, it is immature and reeks of crass ignorance!

As someone who is married for close to two decades, l can tell you that l have "forgone" some "moral values" (things very important to me) of mine, to suit my wife. For example, l stopped taking alcohol completely cos my wife does not like it.
She in-turn has had to change some of her own "values" to suit me. That is the way "marriage works" .... give and take!

My wife has had to chose a particular colour of Suits & Tie for me because she thinks it fits me more. She has sewn native Attires for me because she sees it on some men and thinks it will look good on me. I have seen some look beautiful in some clothes or hair do and have told my wife l will like her to try it out and it has always worked. The whole idea is to "compliment each other". We would "adjust for each other" as need arises.

Marriage means TWO DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES ARE "TRYING" TO BECOME ONE! (Take note: I said "trying"!).
There is no more two unique personalities! You cant be striving for "uniqueness" in a marriage... what you strive for is "blending"!

growing-up, l have heard "intelligent and matured people" say that when you live long enough with your spouse in a good and healthy relationship/marriage, tow of you start "resembling each other and becoming like Brother and Sister"!
I am sure other people have heard this also.
That is "blending".... not Uniqueness.

As for "handing over the reins", ..... you never had the reins! NEVER!!
But a smart woman knows that despite not holding the "reins"... she can direct the "holder" to steer the horse in the direction she want!
It just takes "subtleness and confidence inspiring" to make a husband do what you want...... not all these "gar-gra and over-sabi"
"Good Mothers" need to inculcate this into their daughters and live by such example.... as my wife is doing. kiss
My own wife knows that if she tries to 'struggle or order me around' on something, l will do the "exact opposite" but because she uses the "right approach" as a wife, l will sacrifice my life for her!

We dont even have this "power struggle" as each one of us is "always trying" to satisfy the other and make the other person happier. Making her happy is my goal and she does her possible best to ensure that l am happy as well.
What else does one want from a spouse or in a marriage? kiss kiss kiss

When immature folks come on here to post nonsense in form of "advice", like they are some authority on "How marriage woks", l just pity the foolish person that will "swallow such gibberish" and start acting it out in their own relationship.
Dont give advice, (even if it is copy and paste) on what you are clueless about.

Anyway, its your life, you can ruin it if you want but dont blame one "foolishly anonymous post" on Nairaland.
Discretion is always advised.

With the rate of vandalism in nigeria and our poor maintenance skills, I as.an engineer will rather build any pipe as short as reasonably possible. In this case Niger is nearer and also economically cheaper.

The best alternative is not to build such infrastructure in the North. It's too dangerous up there, the risks are far too great.
The solution to vandalism does not lie in running away from it.
Even that Niger republic pipeline "MAY" eventually be vandalized by Boko Haram!

If there is vandalism, the solution is to "secure and prevent" it. There are people trained and competent in doing that.

What l am on about is that we cant place projects that have significant national Security issues, in the hands of foreigners.

@Poster: You made the first "fundamental MISTAKE" of Marriage: You assumed you can change your spouse! lipsrsealed

There are some "innate characters" we all have that NO ONE can change..... not even we ourselves.
Those "traits" make us who we are.

If you notice a particularly IMPORTANT INNATE TRAIT in a lover..... a trait you know very well you CANT LIVE WITH, please just let that person be.
Dont go ahead and marry them (being beclouded by LOVE!) with the hope that you can change them or they will change, as time goes on.
If you do, you (will) have just created the first crack in the crevice of your marriage!
It can only get worse!

Marriage is not a game of chance, even when "well thought-through", it still poses grave challenges! shocked

"CHURCHISM" is one of those innate trait.
Any woman/man that is the "churchism type" (My Pastor this, My pastor that), .... should be avoided if you the other mate, is NOT the churchism type!
It just doesn't go away or get better.

Just watch as the disagreements and disappointment get worse.

I feel really sorry for you because l can imagine what you are going through...even more, what you will go through, as time passes.

I dont want to offer you advice because l am generally very "brutally honest" with my advice and experience has taught me that not everyone can take "brutally-honest advice"....... It might not be what you want to hear but then, that changes nothing.

The Yoruba actress who is married to a London based man recently revealed why actresses go for abroad based men:

"“Nigerian based guys have a stupid mentality about actresses. They believe actresses are prostitutes. Most of them just want to date them and dump them later. They will start broadcasting that they had dated this, and that person. Another reasonis because they don’t understand the terrain very well. shocked shocked
Most of them stopped their spouse from acting after marriage. This is why people go for guys who are based abroad.”
The highlighted is the "REAL REASON"!

Most of this "abroad guys" are lemons who dont have a clue about "what" they are marrying down here in Naija!

The same "mentality" operates when "Abroad guys" come back home to take a "Nigerian wife" thinking she would be better behaved than the "Ashawos" he has been used to while living abroad.
In truth, he discovers TOO LATE that "the Devil he knows... is better than the Angel he just got entangled with"! wink wink

And what do you think will or can happen, if and when Nigeria has a disagreement with Niger Republic?

You dont think it is foolish to put such a "strategic power" in the hand of unpredictable neighbours?

Let us learn from what happened to Russia, concerning the buying and building of its Mistral Warship from France.

That Ship was paid for, was built for Russia, Russian Seamen have trained on it and a delivery date has been set..... until Russia and France /E.U had a disagreement over Ukraine.

France simply REFUSED to DELIVER THE WARSHIP!

When it comes to items that border on "National Security" (Power, Weapons, Water, e.t.c), even if it is not economical, you still dont hand it over to foreigners!

Celebrities › Re: Shocking DNA Result: Two Of Femi Kuti’s Five Children Are Not His by lastpage: 12:24pm On Nov 29, 2014
Emaprince:
This is scary!!!....women are indeed devils!

@coogar...do you think a man can do. DNA test on his kids without his wife's consent?
FOR INFORMATION ONLY:

I will assume this question is being asked by A MAN!

There are TWO WAYS to answer your question:

1.) LEGALLY: As the "biological father" of a child, you are BOTH LEGAL GUARDIANS of that child (Father and Mother).
You both have absolute right over the child. Under such circumstances, the mother cannot accuse you of "legal assault" if you take samples from the Child, without her consent.
As a matter of law, you dont need her consent because you both exercise same right, over that child.

When you are NOT NAMED as the Father of a child on the Birth Cert or when you are not "LEGALLY MARRIED" to the Mother of that child, in some Jurisdiction that l know of, you are not a "Legal Guardian" of that Child and do not have the right to take DNA sample from that Child without the Mother's consent.... even if the sample was to prove/disprove you are the father, (Notwithstanding that the Mother claims you are the father!)

If you take the sample without her consent, you could be charged for Assault and will be found guilty!.... JAIL TIME BRO! shocked shocked

2.) CLANDESTINELY: In this case, let us assume you have doubts about a Child who does not look like you or anyone in your family.

Now, "Looks" are not enough to trigger a DNA test ... I will assume there are other "issues" that will push you to the "next level".
For example, if the Man thinks the woman has been wayward around the period of conception of that child, if you never had "shex" with her around the time of conception, if you have observed that she keeps boyfriends/lovers, e.t.c

Now, the best thing you can/will do is to SECRETLY TAKE THE SAMPLE!
There are "DNA Kits" sold cheaply on the Internet. Its simply a "sterile and slightly abrasive cotton wool/cotton bud" material.
*You buy it (less than two thousand Naira equivalent).
*You ask the child to raise his tongue upwards and you rub the swab ("cotton bud-like" item) on his under tongue, especially the soft tissue where the tongue attaches to the base of the mouth. DNA material looses easily at that point.
*Ensure the child has not eaten anything that morning. Not even a Mouth brush. Do it very early in the morning.
*LABEL his own SWAB by putting it into the supplied Envelope or a properly labelled Envelope (Child).
*You do the same thing to yourself, observing the same precautions as above. Label your own sample (Father?) as well.
Be very careful not to mix-up the samples! very important.

Caveat: Dont use anything not sterile, dont use an "ordinary cotton bud" because you may not be aware that Omo-Ibo that produced that cotton bud may have used his saliva is sealing the 'ends' to the plastic stick! You will be wasting your money if you do! undecided undecided
Results would be void and inadmissible!

Now, there are independent testing Labs that you can send the samples to, who will do the analysis as stated in the write-up submitted by Cougar. They will then forward the result back to you.
You can use Google to find them "directly". I can help anyone who wishes to ( grin grin ) get in-touch with a Lab or has difficulty in paying them (Maybe you have no foreign visa card or postage and addressing issues, e.t.c) ... FOR FREE!, I take that as my own contribution to "Family Trust building! wink )

These testing Labs will do the test for you and get the result back to you. SIMPLES!

When you see the result, you can either keep quiet and continue to be the good father that you are or....

You can raise-up and issue of "Paternity Dispute" if it turns out that the child is not yours.
Now, note: If the DNA test shows that the child is NOT YOURS.... and you are thereby not the father, (in the case where you are also not legally married to the Mother), that sample you took and the method you used suddenly becomes "ILLEGAL"! shocked shocked
Hope you understand how it becomes illegal? You, who is not the father of a child (as proved by DNA test), has taken a DNA Sample from a child that is not yours, without the consent of the Parents (Mother and whoever the father turns out to be!)
So, if you are not legally married to the Mother, exercise some caution in announcing the result...for legal reasons.
You can persuade her to allow a test (most "confirmed ashawo" living abroad will refuse! All you need do is refuse to pay Maintenance and if and when she takes you to court, you will insist on the test before Maintenance is addressed.
But in Nigeria, she cant refuse sha. Shame will not let her but in "Obodo Oyinbo", most women have no idea what shame is! wink

Let me also mention that this "clandestine move" is just to put your mind at rest or to put you in the KNOW!
You cant take it to court.

If you want to go to court with a DNA result (having done it clandestinely and seen the result), you will have to take the child to an "accredited hospital and Doctor" who will take the samples independently and handle the samples such that its authenticity is NEVER IN DOUBT or suspicion of 'pollution' can never be raised.
It is still the same test but the "chain-of-command" in sample-handling is the difference.

Now, before anyone accuse me of being a "man lover or woman hater" grin grin l think it is only fair that l point out that DNA Test is not actually target at women. As a matter of fact, it is targeted at MEN!.
Yes, those men who dont want to "own-up to being the father of a child".....
Dont start by telling me "WHY" you dont want to own-up.
Your child is your child and you are the father! While l understand that "she may have tricked you into being pregnant for you (for example she says she is on pill or says she is in her 'safe period' e.t.c ....while she is actually lying!
That is still not an excuse not to "accept your child".
A child is a life and he/she does not know or have a part in what goes on between an adult man and woman! He should nto be allowed to suffer the consequence of the wickedness between "men and Women".

So, let me say that because the woman actually carried the baby in her tummy and delivered the baby, her maternity is never in-doubt (except where some medical staff and hoodlums are known to steal people's "live baby" and exchange it for the dead babies of others, ...for a fee!).

So, being the biological Mother of the child, you are always "LEGALLY FREE" to take the DNA sample of the child!.... even without the father's consent.
The problem occurs where you need to prove Paternity and the father is not willing to submit his DNA sample.
Only a Court can "legally force" a man to submit his DNA sample for Paternity test.

CLANDESTINELY: You can also "steal" his DNA Sample, if he will not give it to you!
Infact, you may just want to do the test behind him.... to assure yourself that like Femi's wife, ...you are on sound ground, before arguing his paternity. You know, its like "seeing the answer before hand, to exam questions. It can give you a leg-up but does not mean you will pass eventually sha! grin grin

Though more expensive, you can steal his toothbrush, his pant, his hair brush, his drinking cup and other personal items that can trap "DNA laced" materials, from which a DNA sample can be extracted.
It is more costly to do since the Lab obviously has to do extra work to get the DNA sample out of those items.
Once the sample is got out of the items BY THE LAB, the same process above applies. I am always willing to help you to establish the truth, if you want.

Let me end by saying that it is better for a child to be loved and bonded to his "true biological parent" if and when alive!
It is a cardinal sin in the eyes of God and Man to knowingly give the child of another man, to another.

Like the Yorubas will say: Omo'ale lon'dale ru! shocked shocked
(Its a bastard child that scatters the family bond, .....literally translated)

You guys should just shut the f*** Up

They say the best place to hide your money from a Black Man is within books, because they are too dump to read... with Nigerians ,the case is worse, the information is already posted here, and available on the WWW, but fools are talking about gari?.

Virtually every single oil producing nation is tightinging fiscal policy whether it is devaluing their currency or interest rate, except Saudi arabia, do you know what it means to have a worthless naira? devaluing the naira is inevitable except you want a worthless naira..

But it shouldn't stops there, we need increased IGR from every damn state.. Every state is a parasite on the federal government as it is.. We only feed on oil, and we wonder why we are poor? huh.. You have corporation that make more money than our oil makes for the entire nation in a year ( Walmart, shop rite, Apple, ibm, McDonald's, coke, Microsoft) I can go on, in fact its sad that 180 million people are just parasites and contribute nothing to productivity, instead they are talking about increase in garri, bloody Magas!!

Remove the damn subsidy and even add a tax of 10% on it, if u can give your tithes to thieves called pastors with 5 jets to their name alone, you can continue to a country which your grandchildren will inherit..

180 million parasites and you expect to feed off chicken change of 25 billion dollars from oil, and still want 1st world roads, hospitals, rail, jobs, infantructure, security, with only 25 billion in capital expenditure, GTFOH mad people!!!.
Gawd! People like you say a lot .....while saying NOTHING! grin

You remind me of that Village Boy who said he needs to climb to the top of a very tall Iroko Tree.... but he does not want to start from the base of the Tree ..(he prefers to start somewhere very close to the top). grin
When asked why he thinks its not "prudent to start from the base and gradually go upwards", he responded by saying that "the base" dont matter, as long as l get to the top quicker".

A wise man standing by asked him to start his venture and lets see how long it takes him to get to the top! undecided
Ofcourse, he cant even get to the point of starting since there was not "a ladder" around!

"Those who fail to appreciate and learn from there PAST will only go round in circles, trying to move into the future"

grin

Like that Village Boy, you have "jumped right into the middle" of the problem, trying to proffer a solution (reaching the top)...by not considering:

1.) "What led to Nigeria being in a position that we MUST devalue our currency, ...just because of fluctuation in oil price"?

2.) You have failed to consider that there are ways and means to "buffer" one's currency such that when the "expected and inevitable fluctuations" in oil price occurs, our currency will still stand firm (examples are strong foreign reserve, diversification of streams of foreign exchange income, strong domestic manufacturing economy, to mention just a few)

3.) You said every state should increase IGR (Tax, Fees and Fines) and called them parasites .......but you fail to even understand that before you can increase your IGR substantially, you need a "booming economy" where people are working and trading, thus paying more tax, fees and fines! (Take Lagos as an example, compared to say Ondo). IGR does not just "jump-up" except you fall into the category of people who think it is okay to tax a poor man to death, irrespective of ability to pay! Oppressors!

4.) Again, your lack of understanding of "basic economics and dynamics of governance" is exposed when you said "remove subsidy and even increase petroleum price by 10% after"... 180 Million parasites want to feed on $25Billion from Oil".

The issue of subsidy has been repeatedly shown and proven to be a SCAM by the members of the Oil cabal who simply buy or bunker petroleum produced in Nigeria, load it on a ship and sail for a few minutes into the sea, do a U-Turn and voila: That Petrol has become "Imported Fuel" .....which qualifies it for subsidy!
That is a short summary of the SCAM called Subsidy, so whether it is there or removed, it changes nothing for the common man who does not benefit from it in anyway.

I dont know your "level of education or the quality of it" but judging by what you have written, it is obvious you need to "re-educate" yourself properly! You cant even spell (tightening) correctly!! huh huh

Take an O'level Economics textbook like "O. Teriba" and read about the most basic idea of "creation of wealth/money".
$25Billion, if properly utilized, is more than enough to "generate enough wealth" to feed 500Million people.
Govt will/should create the enabling environment for those millions of people who in-turn, create goods, work, trade such that the money multiplies itself rapidly... and the IGR you are mouthing about, will roll-in without fuss.

But how can you "create wealth' from an economy without the "basics" of industrialisation?
Infact, l like to ask people like you... Which comes first: The CART or the HORSE?

Why do we have a Government, if that Government cannot "organize and marshal the people into a formidable productive unit"?

Even "Black Ants" have been known to overcome that process?

Give the people Stable Electricity, Give them Roads, working Refineries, Give them a few Industries like Steel Plants, Petrochemical Plants that can provide inputs like fertilizer at a cheap rate... and see whether Nigerians are the 'lazy parasites' you call them!

anonimi:
The current geo-political reality of Nigeria is that the North has 19 states plus Abuja FCT to the south's 17, which cascades into everything about REPRESENTATION at the federal level and impacts the ability or (non) of the NASS to pass any meaningful amendment that will reduce our NATIONAL dependence on oil revenues to fund NON-viable states.

Granted that "if we give the Niger Delta all the oil" it MAY not be prosperous overall, however we are only SPECULATING on that future possibility. Why don't we also SPECULATE that they will turn into Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Quatar with their small population huh

BTW, is for anyone to give what BELONGS to you in the first place?
Did "we give" the south and north rights to their cocoa and groundnut/cotton revenue respectively prior to the Jan. 1966 coup and subsequent UNITARY government?

Don't you think that there is an anomaly somewhere currently huh
This issue of "give all the Oil revenues to the South" is mere wishful thinking, IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!
I am a South Westerner from an Oil producing state (call me Southerner just to lump it together and make it easier, for discuss purposes).

I say NEVER because, Natural Resources (like Oil) do not belong to "a part" of a Nation like Nigeria, which operates a federal Structure.

Some resources which are "farmed, manufactured or engineered" can be "localized' to where those "actions" take place but let us be honest with ourselves: Unless there is a very bloody Civil War (Even Sudan is still not out of theirs, despite splitting the country!), ....
...such things wont happen and if there is a bloody civil War, the "future benefits" will pale compared to the "immediate loss" resultant from such war, thus making it economically unviable and foolish venture.

Its not about one region being stronger or not, its about WAR!

Mind you, l am not clouding my thoughts with sentiments arising from ethnicity or tribal nationalism, in saying this!
If l do, my thoughts will be completely different but definitely wrong!.

Having said that, let me point out a few mistakes in some of our post:

Downward spiral of the Oil Price is not just about the production of Shale Oil in America or elsewhere:
Shale oil is a very dirty Oil (more impurities) and it costs a lot more to refine and thus, sells cheaper than say Brent Crude Oil. This means that for Shale Oil to sell, it must be attractive enough for buyers (factoring cost of refinement) and profitable enough for Sellers (to cover production cost), at the prevailing "selling price".

Now, as long as Crude Oil sells above $100, shale Oil will have a market because it will be "still cheaper to buy" (after factoring refine cost), than crude Oil. So, on one hand, major Oil producers have been flooding the market (and keeping Crude price down viz-a-viz laws of Demand and Supply) to ensure that Shale Oil is never attractive to "new Customers" who will like to switch!

On another level, in doing so, they've also lost revenue since this is tied to the price of Oil in the market.
Countries like Nigeria who depend solely on such revenues will be most hit...and that is what we are witnessing now.

On a third level, "Geo-Politics" is also at play whereby countries like Russia and Syria (which also depend heavily on Oil for most of their revenues) "can" .....and "are" also being strangulated by the likes of America (targeting Russia) and Saudi Arabia (targeting Syria!) by ensuring that their main source of revenue "dry up" via deliberately very low prices. We have been seeing the effect of this on the Russia Rubble of recent.

Finally, let me add that Population (as shown by one poster) is not a major factor in this quagmire that we find ourselves.

Granted that we have a large population "to feed" (compared to countries like Saudi Arabia or UAE), we must not also forget that our large population could have been our best weapon and advantage (if our leaders and economists/policy makers are not so stewpid) since we would have a "very large internal market" for our manufactured goods so much so that we will be dictating who we want to trade with on one hand, ... and most countries will want to establish trade links with us, on the other hand. T
his is the kind of advantage that the E.U provides for its members and countries like Ukraine are dying to join them and even Britain, despite its huge bill to the body, does not want to be excluded somehow!

So, Population and size like Nigeria is actually an advantage but we are clueless on how to take advantage of it.
Smaller countries like UAE have taken advantage of their small population and large oil.

Whether we accept it or not, 170Million Nigerians cannot FORMULATE POLICY for this country!
Only a "select few" who we trust to lead us aright can do so.
If those trusted with that responsibility are greedy, selfish and corrupt, we end up where we are today (a little greed is even permissible sef).

But if those we saddle with such responsibility love this country (despite a little greed), we will be like Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Venezuela and UAE, in terms of development.

In order of preference, we can change this country's destiny by:

1.) Stable Electricity (Not the paddy-paddy privatisation that is currently going-on where even a sitting President is using cronies to corner Energy Market (Discos) and fail to invest in Energy "production", despite escalating price paid by consumers.

2.) Manufacturing and Agriculture: Once power gets to an appreciable level, massive mechanised Agriculture will give us food stability and raw materials for industrial growth.
A lot of manufacturing will start (as compared to exporting CHEAP raw materials).
Petrochemical and Food processing, will blossom

3.) Stemming from the two above, JOB CREATION will no longer be by "magic" as our Govt does but it will be available naturally (and you will be surprised how our neighbours and Westerners will start demanding for Nigerian Visas as was the case in the early 70's.

Other things like increased Foreign Reserve, Strong Currency, improved standard of living, Reduction in crime rate, e.t.c ........ will NATURALLY FOLLOW.
They will happen without the intervention of any "20 yrs Economist" or Minister.

But if you take my points from bottom-Up (3, 2, 1) you will see how impossible it is to create Jobs, without having a good Agriculture and Manufacturing base and further more, you will see how impossible it is to have a good manufacturing and Agric base, without stable power!

Does that not sound like what "Successive Nigerian Govts" have been doing?
Now you know why this country is going from bad to worse... year-in, year out!

Why dont you just keep quiet if you know nothing about Quantitative Easing as a way of boosting Economy. Why not just keep quiet so we can think clearly. Quantitave Easing is not the same thing as Inflation, and we can see what devaluation has done by way of transformation of the Chinese Economy. Some of you have not earned up to 1 million in your life but you want to criticize what learned Economists with over 20years of experience are doing.
Billionaire!
I find it quite amusing that you would compare the "very diverse" Chinese Economy (an Economy that produces virtually everything and thus earn enormous amount of foreign currency so much so that it is always having excess Dollars and needs to devalue its Yuan, to keep the price of its products low, and thus competitive in the "international export" market, hence why Nigeria is flooded with Chinese-made imported goods) ....

...with a "mono-Economy" like Nigeria which Produces NOTHING and imports EVERYTHING.... thereby depleting its foreign currency reserve from its only mono-export product (OIL)?

Chinese "Quantitative Easing" is sensible given the facts of their economy but with respect to Nigeria, it shows "cluelessness of how to move the economy forward".

What we should have done (what the guy is pointing out) is to have been re-investing our Oil proceeds in a Diversified economy that embraces "manufacturing and production of TANGIBLE PRODUCTS" ...so as to export tangible products that earn foreign exchange .... and this would have cushioned our economy viz our currency (naira) if and when the price of Oil falls.... which always happens every now and then anyway.

Even if anyone has been an Economist for over twenty years and he does not have the "primary interest" of their country and people at heart, they can churn-out very warped and self-centered policies which serve only the interest of their oppresive cabals.... it does not make them less an Economist,... just a wicked Economist! undecided

The naira never appreciates in time of high oil prices but very quick to depreciate when the oil price falls. Apart from the mono economy which is a problem, the increased earnings is being looted and not reinvested in our future. This for me is sufficient reason to kick pdp out from the centre. When oil prices recover or exceeds previous highs, it is certain that 168 will become the new normal in readiness for the next price crash.
Let us even leave PDP or APC out of this discussion so that it does not get hijacked by those scumbags who see only "Ethnicity, Party-Affiliation or religion" in any and every discussion.

I can tell you that "price of PETROL at the Pump" (fuel stations) has decreased by close to 30% in the USA, Canada and all European Countries including the the U.K, ..... over the last three months or so.
The reason for these is that "Price of Oil is falling worldwide". That, no one needs to argue and even the Nigerian Govt agree on that.

But funnily or ironically, the Price of Petrol at the Pump" in Nigeria has remained the same (at a minimum of #97) over the same period!
As a matter of fact, Govt is saying it wants to INCREASE THE PRICE, using its time-tested "Scam tactics" of removing "Subsidy" that was never their ab initio!

If prices has reduced considerably, l think a caring Govt will either uses this reduction to:

1.) Offset the "Subsidy" by maintaining price at the current rate (assuming there was actually a Subsidy, .......and not the current scam of round-tripping over the high seas, they call "importation of finished products) .....instead of again threatening to raise fule price through their never ending "removal of subsidy!

...or

2.) Reduce the Price of Fuel "at the pump" as is done in all the other countries of the world, so that public citizens can ta least get the "short-term" benefits of this dramatic decrease in price.

But Hell No! Nigerian Govt is run by Cabals whose only interest is EXPLOITATION of its Citizens. All they want is more and more money otherwise, why devalue the average man's "fixed income" while not letting him enjoy the benefit associated with the decrease in price of products he buys with such income?

If truly the Nigerian Govt follows its mantra of "Free Market nay Privatisation", then it should have allowed the Pump price of Fuel to reflect the "true market forces" that is at play right now but as we see, the Govt and the Marketers (of course, its the same people who stole our Oil blocks, looted our treasury to set-up the Oil Marketing Companies and who also runs the Govt!) are conniving together to form a kind of Monopolistic Cartel for "PRICE FIXING"!

This is the problem Nigerians face.... and they are on a "long thing" if they cant "see it and do something serious" about it.

Despite the lies this lying bast@rd is strewing together (after all, "the dead stay dumb"!), you could feel the message of the White Supremacist KKK, oozing from this Cop... I was expecting he would say "maybe l would have shot him in the leg, to immobilize him"! but hell NO, these guys are working to a plan.

Like somebody said in a public discussion on a Bus today, a time may come when "Blacks" have to start buying guns openly, just to "protect themselves",.... just like a lot of white folks in Ferguson were doing, a few days/hours before the jury delivered its verdict.

Even as we are speaking about the Ferguson guy, another "WHITE Cop", shot an 12yr old BLACK KID who was playing with a "TOY gun, in the park! A replay of the 911 emergency call, by another white member of the public shows that even the "untrained called" knew the gun was just an imitation (carried by children of that age group) and said so TWICE, in the call.

Yet, this WHITE COP who is trained in identification and use of firearm still thinks it was a "real gun" (but instead of even approaching the kid and try to make him hand it over like it took over eight hours to persuade an grown-up white man threatening to shoot people on a street, to hand over the "real gun" he was wielding!), ...hell NO, this WHITE Cop simply shot the 12yr old Black kid to death!

How many more "young Black Kids" have to die form the hands of these white "supremacist" Cops, ...before someone gets the message that: America is dangerous and unwelcoming for BLACK people?

Why did you not cry foul then, knowing that Nigeria is a secular country and not an "Arabic" country?
Now that something different is there, you are shouting on top of the roof!
“Nigerian Muslims regard the latest action, namely, the supplanting of Arabic with Jewish symbol from the new N100 as a continuation of the campaign of elimination by substitution against Arabic language and, by implication, against Nigerian Muslims.

“It is well known that a large section of the Nigerian population use the Arabic Ajami and removing it from the new note will deprive millions of users of the Arabic Ajami of the ability to recognise, identify and use the new currency.

“Furthermore, putting the Jewish symbol on the new N100 falls short of international standard, as currencies worldwide are designed to suit each nation’s culture and history.

“Where does the Jewish symbol fit in? Which Nigerian community speaks the Jewish language? The insertion of the Jewish symbol is, therefore, clannish and parochial. It is tainted with undisguised religious fanaticism.
This shameless Prof needs to be flogged publicly as he seems to have lost his senses!
Is Nigeria and Arab country? Why must we have "Arabic wordings" on our currency when according to you, currencies should represent national cultures and values?

As someone has pointed out, that symbol this blind Prof is refering to, is definitely not the Jewish Star.
Infact, maybe we should remove all the stars in the sky since we dont like whatever looks like a Jewish star! huh huh

Even if the inscription was a star, who gave "all' stars to Jews or Israel?
Moreover, why not ask Jonathan to remove all the Arabic inscription on our money first, so that you can be justified in calling for the removal of the "star"?

When does the Kettle started calling the Pot "Black"?

Mind you, l dont like the Jews/Israelis one bit, they practice parthied, they are muderous and genocidal, they are inhuman and adept at lying brazen-faced but then, l dont also like it when some jobless Muslim Prof is trying to incite religious animosity in such a brainless manner.

This is a big slap on the face of ASUU. For the ASUU chairman to call into question the integrity of the senate means he doesn't even know what he's doing. ASUU is the highest academic decision making body in universities made up primarily of ASUU members, the chairman being one, professors the other. So that the Senate is rubbish as ASUU would want us to believe means ASUU too is rubbish.
You are not sounding coherent at all!

Lets break it down:

a.) A lecturer or student fulfils all the requirement to be awarded a PhD degree.

b.) The University SENATE SITS over the "students" academic work/results ..and then the SENATE DECIDES to award such degree (or decides NOT).
c.) In this case, LASU SENATE DECIDED that the award was in order and awarded the PhD Degree.

d.) Two years later, the same SENATE came out and said they made an ERROR in awarding such PhD degrees.
They said their "error" was about "nomenclature" of the Certificate (Note: Not that the student falsified or the error was critical to the award itself).... in writing the word "Marketing" on such Cert!
Ofcouse, the "marketing Department" is under the Faculty of Business Admin, in most, if not all Universities in Nigeria.

Now, you must ask two questions:
1) Who benefits and who looses from this Certificate withdrawal? (The Awardees, the Certificate Holder who are at loggerheads with the V.C!)

2.) Why cant they just "WRITE OUT" A CORRECT CERTIFICATE, ask the holders to bring the "wrong one" and just EXCHANGE it.... without all the noise and publicity, coupled with the shame this brings on the University, its Senate and its students?

Some Eediots, even though they are very literate (as in Professor), will still act like an illiterate by trying to "Cut-off their own nose, just to spite their face"!
