I think Nigerians in general and especially, peeps like you, have a WARPED SENSE OF JUSTICE!

FYI - She reversed (despite being on her own lane) BACK to allow like 5 vehicles to pass! (read the post again, if you actually read it before posting that garbage you posted).
So, she was NOT impatient, as you alluded.

She ran out of patience when they wont allow her to also pass........... having reversed and given them the right to use her lane.

Think folks.... think first before tapping that keyboard! Most of you would make very bad judges, if put in that position.


Even at that, let me state here that the Military in Western Countries like the USA DONT FIGHT CIVILIANS because:
1.) It would be a mis-match! l mean, just imagine a "SEAL officer" fighting an untrained civilian? Its instant death!

2.) They know their real "capabilities" and wont abuse it. they rather reserve it for the war front. Same reason why you will never see, (for example), a trained Black Belt Judo/Kun Fu/ Jistu person fighting in the PUBLIC! It will never happen.

3.) Even when offended, they will hand-over the offender to the arm of Govt dedicated and trained in dealing with Civilians (Police) ecause they know that there remit is not exercising brute force over civilians. Its like a fully grown adult boxer, fighting a ten yr old boy who offends him!
Its a display of Cowardice and wrongful transfer of aggression.


On the other hand, you will find that the CIVILIANS in those country have come to understand and RESPECT their military officers because they know that they dont use their power to oppress them (unlike their Nigerian counterparts) but rather, use it to protect them in time of emergency and danger. They not only respect their military, they kind of "worship" them, not out of FEAR ..... but out of REVERENCE!

Can a Nigerian military officer "elevate" themselves in the eye of the public, to that level....... without intimidation and fear?
Your guess is a s good as mine.

The army officer was said to have retaliated by inviting two army officers within the vicinity, who joined him to beat up Mrs Agboghide to a pulp and damaged her car including the wind screen and the rear screen that were shattered.

Security was beefed up in the area as members of the civil society group and family members besieged the BEDC office, alleging complicity of BEDC in the beating up of the woman.

I am forced to quote just one of the many responses, blaming and insulting the woman involved in this fracas ........ and it makes me wonder whether the QUALITY of intelligence of the average Nigerian has sunk so low that all of these responses above mine, fail to comprehend what really transpired?

Read the part l quoted above, from the original story an[b]d let us reason on it together:[/b]

1.) The women was on her side of the road - So, by LAW, she was therefore not obstructing traffic.

2.) She was asked to REVERSE... [color=#990000] and she COMPLIED by Reversing - Shows she is a reasonable and responsible person

3.) After five Cars passed , she also felt the need to continue her own journey - This also is perfectly "legal" and within her rights.

4.) She moved on but the same people coming from the other side, manoeuvred into her lane AND REFUSED TO STOP FOR HER TO GO! - This is definitely the cause of the ensuing traffic jam (Dont forget, this woman has reversed once and allowed them to use her lane... but they wont do the same for her!)

5.) Officer came, without knowing the genesis of the problem (nor having the intelligence to ASK WHAT HAPPENED!), asked her to REVERSE, A SECOND TIME! She refused! -

Now, we should ask whether this woman has a right to also go wherever she was going or whether the other people using her lane are the only ones "in a hurry" and cant wait for her to pass, when she had waited for them to pass, despite being on her own side of the road!!

Any sensible person who had driven on Nigerian road knows that "Most" Nigerians generally lack courtesy!
If someone extends a courtesy to you (by waiting for you to use her lane, while she waits), courtesy demands that after a few cars have passed, you also WAIT and allow the person who extended that courtesy to you, TO ALSO PASS!

But in the "typical Nigerian fashion", they dont give a hoot!

I am sure this woman too was in a hurry to go somewhere BUT SHE STILL WAITED FOR SOME CARS TO PASS!
Why cant they also wait for her to also pass?

That Major is a disgrace to himself and the military!
When the woman moved and she was blocked by oncoming vehicles, should an intelligent military officer not have approached her POLITELY and ask her WHY she thinks she should not WAIT?
If he does that, l am sure the woman would have told him that she has been waiting but they would not stop to allow her to also pass.
In typical "Zombie-fashion", he proceeded to TEAR GAS HER!

QUESTION: Will this military officer WAIT for people to pass? If he will wait, will he reverse a second time, after allowing some to pass and they wont stop for him? I bet you he wont.

I have waited (out of courtesy to other road users, at a narrow road) and l counted FORTY VEHICLES pass while l was "flashing them", to allow me to pass so l can also go my way but they refused! Infact, everyone behind me started abusing me for not "putting my head" and blocking them-off!
Eventually, l did put my vehicle (knowing what would happen next) while flashing the oncoming vehicle to stop.
He never did and came to confront me with his vehicle. (That is exactly what happened in this case also!)
Funnily, when everywhere became blocked and l asked the driver of the vehicle confronting me why he did not WAIT, when l have been waiting in the last ten minutes, he said "Why cant you wait too"?
I was shocked!

This is why l said "Most Nigerians lacked courtesy".

I dont want to give this woman any CREDIT because "she is FEMALE". That is an insult to women who are worth their salt.
But that officer, instead of behaving like a trained, educated, gentleman, he behaved like an animal that most military men are (apologies to the extremely descent ones amongst them).

Why Tear-gas the woman?
Why call two additional military recruits to beat her up?
IF she refused to reverse based on the fact that she has done so once/earlier, what does it cost the Major to ask the people on the other side to also reverse so she can go and everyone can go?
Why would someone "make way" for you on their side of the road and you think its okay to make the person wait endlessly.... withiut extending the courtesy to her as well?

Those of you insulting and criticizing the woman need to understand what happened and ask yourself honestly: Wont l do same thing?
I for one, will do exactly what she did...... and that Major will bite more than he can chew because "It is because of the 'mad man outside', that we keep even "more mad" person within/inside the compound" (An adage/proverb)

I hope the woman knows how to go about it, that Major may be demoted after a court-marshal.
He has gone beyond his remit....... even with his own wife by his side!

We need to understand the PECULIARITY of RIVERS STATE and EBONYI STATE.
These two states are OIL RICH STATES...... and that is the beginning of their problem.

Let me go back in history (but l will try to summarise it).

- Lagos State was an "opposition state" for sixteen years.
- During those years, The "Centre Govt" tried to suffocate the State, not because Obasanjo/Jonathan hate Lagos..... but because the Federal Govt is aware that once it can cripple the GOVERNMENT (am not saying the People) in Lagos, it would have effectively crippled the Opposition.

On the other hand;
- Lagos is the richest of all the APC (opposition) controlled states since 1999, till 2015.
- Lagos State, through its Governor Tinubu, was the "LIFE-WIRE" and FINANCIER of APC since 1999, till 2015.
- Lagos State was the State that allowed APC to survive, till it won the Presidential election
Thus, if Lagos State has fallen into the hand of PDP (electorally), then APC would have been dead and buried.

Now to Rivers State:
- PDP won Ebonyi, long before Buhari/APC won the Federal Election .......and APC took Power at the centre.
- Ebonyi' case did not lead to a re-run, unlike Rivers State, so Ebonyi is "settled" in the hands of the PDP

Rivers is also the major "Golden Goose" that willlay the Golden Egg for PDP.
If PDP loses Rivers State, it will be like APC losing Lagos State, in the last 16years! It wont survive because that is where the Money to "act Opposition" and fight back, is supposed to come from.

So, PDP MUST WIN RIVERS STATE AT ALL COST....... EVEN IF EVERYONE IN RIVERS HAS TO BE KILLED!

Dont forget that late 2014 and early 2015, Patience Jonathan (wife of former President) has declared Rivers State as her "property" and to confirm this, the following happened:
1.) A Police Commissioner called "Mathew Mbu" was deployed to literally "scatter" that state and decimate any opposition to PDP/Patience capturing that state
2.) We all still recall how the sitting Governor then, Amaechi was harassed, threatened and eventually ousted, using "Federal power"! from Abuja, when Goodluck Jonathan (PDP) was the President.

Right now, Patience Jonathan, Gov Wike, PDP and Good luck Jonathan are fighting the battle of their life, not to lose Rivers State to APC because it will likely signal the death of PDP as they would lack the "Financial Power" to challenge APC ..... more so that there looted war-chest are being discovered and recovered, by the same APC Govt!

Information reaching anyone in Rivers State has it that Ex-President Jonathan and his wife Patience, have given Wike a matching order to deliver Rivers at all cost, any cost.
He in-turn has employed Militants and other dangerous CULTS, arm them to the teeth and given them instruction to SLAUGHTER ANYONE that mentions the word "APC"...... not to talk of voting APC, in Rivers Election re-run.

Does anyone think, for a moment that the Militants and Cultists killing people in rivers, give a damn about Politics?
They are doing it for MONEY! They are financed, equipped and Paid by those who have looted enough funds to finance a PRIVATE ARMY of their own!

So, Let us not be surprised, until PDP/Wike is declared the Winner in Rivers election (whether they won or lost is immaterial), they would murder everybody in-sight.... until they are declared the winner.
TO LOSE RIVERS.... IS TO BURY PDP.

So, if you love yourself, RELOCATE from Rivers State.......... for the time-being.

SO WHAT ALTERNATIVE DO THE NIGERIANS HAVE?

beam perimeter of 210/3.5 = 60planks x 4 = 240planks for both side you will have 480planks.

Life in Lagos is harsh, when it comes to accommodation.
The Government, with all their charges/Taxes here and there, are as wicked, as some Landlord.
When some Landlord consider what the Govt of Lagos State puts then through, to acquire land and build their house, they seem to become very "angry" and pass the anger on their tenants. Not to mention some Evil Tenants (I have some in the past!)

But it shouldn't be so, you can "transfer aggression" unto others, who are innocent.

There are few "excesses there" that seems obvious. But the floor plan will help us to be even more accurate. It will help us know the size of the foot-print since all the bedrooms are not going to be on the ground floor (which is the only info you gave)

1.) Wood: You dont need 400 planks: Let us assume it is going to be 4ft raft (assumption), estimate for 300 @900 each
1 x 12, buy 200 pieces @250 each

2.) Instead of Sand, buy Stone Dust at 30tons x 2.5 (75Tons) @90 each = 225K

3.) Cement 350 Units, quoted price is okay

4.) Filling Sand depends on how high your raft will be. if not more than four planks, but 20Trips of 20tons (Laterite is about 27K/20Tons)

5.) Full Binding wire and Nail is #5,000 each ...(x 4) = #20,000

6.) Tanks and Water costs 98,000 in your quote.
Add 40,000 to it and get them to dig you a bore hole on site. You will thank me later!
(BTW: He will still come back to tell you to bring more money for water as the building goes up!)

7.) Labour should be around 10% - 12% (at most), of materials in use

If it is "me", the above is what l will do/be paying but you are your own man.
