tensazangetsu:The answer is neither Biafra nor Nigeria.......... it is YOU and ME saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and "making a STAND". That place you are going, was once like Nigeria ..but THE PEOPLE MADE THEIR STAND! Even if they give you citizenship.... you will always be "second class" in those places. Imagine that a twelve year old boy "Tanya" was hot dead by a white Cop within "2 seconds" of approach at a children's park, because the officer said "he was afraid of a 12yr old boy with a Toy gun in his pocket". So he killed the "Black Boy"! ![]() ...Yet, grown ups with real guns, threatening the U.S Government, take over a Federal Building since LAST WEEK and still there NOW. Even the FBI could not approach within 50KM of the location!...because "they were afraid" of what might happen! Ofcourse, these anarchist are "white folks"........ if they were black, they would have been "dead and buried within ten minutes". ![]() So, be careful what yo wish for. Let us make our country work for us. Lastpage! |
iamVirus:If Dele momodu has not done the same thing he is criticizing somebody else for, l would have taken him seriously! if Dele Momodu has not sent Thugs and personally supervised the assault and brutalization of Davido at the Airport, l woul dhave though he had some sense, at his age! And now it is about "he has animosity against me"? And to think the clown is even putting himself on the same Pedestal as M. K. O Abiola? Dele should STFU please. Lastpage! |
ShowYourCertificate:Whether we are for PDP or APC, for #Wailers of for #SaTANoids, for #SaiBuhari or for #SaiJonathan.... e.t.c, One thing we would all agree with, at the end of the day, is that the CORRUPTION was perpetuated in gargantuan proportions and it has ruined this country for us. Question now is: Should we just gloss over it and agree by saying "yaay' as they do in the National Assembly ...... or we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, deal with the problem once and for all. What we chose, will determine not just our future, but that of our children yet unborn! Ofcourse, the looters children are not affected as they will just be enjoying the loot. ![]() Lastpage! |
morbeta: You guys in Nigeria live in a different time zone! Even some countries have done "new year", almost twenty four hours before Nigeria! ![]() So, my guy T.B listens to Foreign News of such countries, over Satellite........... and makes it a "Prophetic Prediction" on that same day, .... then twenty four hours later, peeps in Nigeria are just hearing the News ad are like Ooh my God, T.B Josh prophesied this thing Ooo!! ![]() Lastpage! meanwhile, that @MOD in Political section way dey stalk me every minute, l now know you in person, in real life...... l am watching you closely. I also agree with Brabus, a 'light' German floor ... or at least a capping Bean is very important in builds where the land is not flat out. Its like doing a "Chained Lintel" for a building, compared to not having one, for cost reasons. These methods have the effect of "binding your building together" such that forces (lateral and others) are "tied together and transmitted around" easily... without failing at any point Its just "science". Lastpage! |
When l was starting a project not too long ago, l recollect one passer-by who saw the foundation and said :Haahh-haa! "Faundasion" yii tii pooju now? Na Aso rock nii! ofcourse, the foundation was just five planks (above ground) of solid Granite + Cement+ Stone Dust and 16mm Iron. But l know the history of the land and l know what happened to a lot of buildings where "cost management" was priority when the building started so, l took no chances though some initially thought it was just a waste of funds and a kind of "over-build". Though it cost over #4.5 Million just to do foundation to DPC level, today l am very happy and consider that as one of the best decisions l have taken in life. "Eni Sango t'oju re wole ni, ki'bu Oba ko'oso" ![]() (Dont know how to translate that now...may be an analogy will do: "Anyone who has nearly drowned in a river, does not play around even a 'swimming pool'" ) If l were Egunmogaji, l will dig one foot into the ground behind that wall, do a foundation plank the height of that wall (about 4 or 5 slabs, l guess) and fill it up with concrete mix, using the wall as the second side of that trough, to a thickness of about 4-5 inches (wall to plank). With that you can go to sleep, nothing will do your wall. Thing is, all these "half-measures" are likely to give you grief in future! I say "likely" so l am not being definitive here. ![]() Its better to have a solid foundation...... and take your time to build the house itself, than to "worry" over your foundation, and continue building over it. The fact that you are already worried now, is your 'spirit-being' sounding the alarm bells for you in time..... whether you will heed it or not, is up to you But then, l am just myself To your real question: Foundations are so fundamental to a building that an extra "two coaches" .....if that is what will give you rest of mind, will not kill you! Make it 'same height' as the first wall, there are no known 'negative consequences' to such action ........but there could be, if you decide to economise on just two coaches of blocks..... and the consequences are better imagined, if the unexpected should happen. Also, as suggested, avoid filling with 'Laterite', that motherphucker can expand/contract at will, whenever it sees water!. Sand, plain sharp sand is more stable if you are worried about the behaviour during and after compaction *I hope l am not being "unsavoury"... since nobody likes wise guys! ![]() Lastpage! |
EndiaSami:Respects, Sir! I like that name "Diaper sprayer"! ![]() I guess when it is time, l need to give you a ring as well. If l may ask: Do you know what informs that range of price difference? peaceland:Not true, you can open it if your DIY knowledge is just average like me. Again, it lasts longer than the side-flush as it is not that 100% mechanical (moving parts).... but uses a combination of pressure difference and transmission. I use it upper push-button type and it gives no problem...as long as it is original. Yes, Mixer tap will still need a shower set .....for a shower. It just allow you to control the temperature of the final water output as you can mix both cold and hot together. Hajji nailed it. BTW: I love that thing whose name you are trying to get! I like cleaning up with water, instead of tissue which is not 100% "sharp-sharp"! ![]() I want to use it on my current project when it gets to that stage Lastpage! |

EgunMogaji:To answer your question: 1.) As l said in my previous post, those who have the "real deal" when it comes to Supernatural powers, dont flaunt it, dont use it for evil because there are set of "laws" which guide its usage! "Fadeyi-oloro" will eventually get served, if he uses it for evil. The laws guiding supernatural power are above human pettiness .... and the real "sharman" (for want of a better word) is like a Black belt Judoka or Taewando expert: You will never find them picking a street fight or being aggressive, because they are trained and concious of the power that is bestowed or lies in their hands 2.) "Charlatans" are the order of the day. when someone learns "a few supernatural/mystical moves", they begin to act like the "half-trained mechanic or Tailor" who did not wait to finish his training and earn "freedom" from their Boss! ![]() I am sure you know the kind of havoc those type of mechanic can wreak on your vehicle or how such Tailor will sew a cloth for you and the hand exit is where the head exit is supposed to be! ![]() Those who have the "real deal" dont usually make a living from it...... they usually do it as a service to humanity as they have what butters their bread. My Grand Ma was an example. She just use it to do good for whoever deserves it.... and she is as humble as a Dove! I once assisted a Mallam who was packing Laterite for me, to fill my foundation! He has this racking Asthma fits and l just felt pity for him. I asked him if he would do a few things l tell him and not to go to work for at least three days after doing it. He agreed. He did it. and about a week later, he came beaming with smiles "Ooga, Walahi, l go carry all your sand no collect money, just gif me food"! I smiled at him and said, that would be wrong! freely it was given to me, freely l gave it to you. Those are the "unstated rules". Till today, he still tells all the neighbourhood Mallam about how his Asthma git cured by God, through a messenger. Finally, it is not always "immediately" we do evil...... that we reap the result. Same with doing Good, you may not reap the result immediately. But do not be deceived, No Good/Evil act goes unrewarded! I have reaped "good'...that was done by my own parents, even before l was born! As the son of a school teacher, a man my Mum helped to enlist in school (against all odds back then as he parents are very poor and he had to come live in our house so he can be close to the school) saw me one day at a bus stop and asked: Are you the son of Mrs XYZ? I said Yes Sir. he said Do you mind if l give you a lift home, how is your Mother? I looked at him as "Gbomo Gbomo" and was about ot pick race when he said "You know what, your Mother made me who l was today, she put me in school"! I jumped inside his vehicle and he not only took me homw but gave me fifty Kobo Note... which was like giving a child #5000 in those days. So, l reaped what my Mother did,...Good or evil. Those who cheat others of their sweat are only digging their own graves but let me point out something here: LAWS of Nature work on the premise that the "offended' person has not done "evil" to another and are only reaping the evil they themselves sowed initially. Its like prayer: The Bible says "who can come to God, except those with clean hands and a pure heart". so, when you pray to God (For Help or for Vengeance .....Vengeance is mine, says the Lord!), your prayer may be unanswered or answered, depending on the state of your "hand and heart" (Whether it is clean or evil) but if it is clean, l pity that person on whose behalf you have made supplications to God. When you hear "he just finished building that palatial house and just a day to house warming, he died just like that or hosue collapsed on his head".....! The heart of the wicked is hardened... and it leads to their own destruction" But nor be me talk am o! ![]() Lastpage! |
It is "morally wrong" to PUBLICLY share details (pictures, text, Emails, documents, e.t.c) given to you by someone..IN CONFIDENCE. Notice l said "morally wrong" because "LEGALLY" speaking, if you give something to someone, it becomes theirs... and what you do with your "possession" is your decision. You cannot be legally liable for "giving it out" to others. No one is ever "legally liable" for a GIFT. that is trite in law. But on "moral grounds", it is a reprehensible behaviour! Having said that, let me also look at the story from a "WHOLISTIC ANGLE". *I hope we all go back to the original thread and everyone who condemned this guy as a RA.PIST, without hearing the full gist or without the common sense to see that the story was cooked-up, needs to kneel down and ask God for forgiveness. I also hope we all learn a lesson here: When it comes to relationship and emotional issues" between two people (Rape, Divorce), dont be too quick to apportion blame. Calm down and be wise! *The other point l will like to make is this: Destroying evidence, in a criminal investigation, especially where the life of ne person is in danger and their freedom and liberty is under "grave threat", is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE called PERVERSION OF JUSTICE. Gbemisola (the lady) cannot use "payback" as an excuse, under the Law, for her criminal acts: She destroyed the guy's phone, which would have proved his innocence on a grievous and heinous allegation as R.APE! So she maliciously lied to the Police, made false allegation of R.ape, perverted justice and destroyed evidence! She also destroyed the guy's Laptop which would have contained other "Electronic evidences" of what actually happened! (Though, such evidence can still be retrieved by forensic experts who have the know-how... even if you burn the phone and Laptop!) ![]() Judges dont take that kind of acts lightly at all because it makes their job difficult and could lead to miscarriage of justice. When you report an 'offence' to the authorities, you cant at the same time take actions that prevents them from knowing the truth! "Those who come to EQUITY (The Law), must come with clean hands" I hope the guy gets a good Lawyer because if we weigh both actions (Boy and Girl) on Legal grounds, she is in for a lot of trouble. How does she expect any sane Judge to believe ANYTHING she says, now that it has been established that she is a liar, a manipulator and a "falsifier of evidence"? How does she expect any judge, to believe her story of "blackmail", that the guy was askin g her for money, once the guy denies the story as a lie? Who will the Judge believe, based on available evidence? Yes, the guy erred "morally" in sharing those unclad images of hers, the motive, we are yet to know (but we sure cant taker her story, hook, line and sinker, for the Holy truth, anymore) We can only listen to what reasons the guy can say, for doing so..... but it is not a good thing to do, Its a betrayal of trust. I guess she is receiving "good, legal advice" and hence her intention (with her parents) to settle the matter amicably out of court ![]() Finally, Guys, warning for you: The issue of S.ex is now a weapon in the hands of the opposite gender! Be wise, dont let your life be ruined by a woman on the account of having s.ex with her! if you must have a sexual relationship with a woman, have it at the back of your mind that she can use it to destroy you by claiming it wasn't con-sexual ..but R.APE! 1.) Ask CLEARLY if she wants to make LOVE. "No is No", The days of "Body language" is no longer tenable! Its a TRAP! I know it spoils the fun but it could mean the difference between a life in jail and freedom! 2.) Set your phone or Camera or CCTV into "Record Mode" ... just anything (audio or Video), to back you up, incase she changes her mind (and God knows, they do that so often, nowadays! ). Every 'young guy' should have this as "default mode", when a lady is with him alone and alone! 4.) Dont show it to anyone except your Lawyer, if you ever need to. 5.) And ladies, please dont lead a guy on.... only to do a U-turn when you know he is turned-on! If you dont want s.ex, dont act or suggest it. "If you don like the heat, stay out of the Kitchen"! The world is no longer what it used to be! From Climate change, to legalized Perversion, e.t.c, the change is here now... ADAPT or get EXTINCT! Lastpage! |
watered:God bless you too Sir! I am your friend and will always be. Feel free to discuss with me. It takes "one" to know "one" and l am sure that l will also be enriched by association with you. Your words already shows you are so well-grounded. Blessed are those who raised you and blessed are you too, for allowing to be raised properly. its a two-way thing! I try to keep "online things' ...online. Between me and my family members,w e have agreed that we would remain "anonymous", online. I have been asked to do "Mod" duties in my past six years or more on Nairaland but l politely declined for the same reasons. ![]() A lot of people have asked to meet me in person, Mods have requested to do a "personality profile" on me and for the same reasons, l have politely declined the offer. Most of the things l write about are "real life" scenarios and l have a duty to protect other family members who may be identifiable from my posts, especially my wife. So, please bear with me if l cant meet you in person, it's just my way of ensuring the "Lastpage family" remains anonymous and hence can speak their mind freely, online. But it does not diminish our communications in anyway. You can always "PM" me Merry Xmas to you and a happy 2015 in advance. Bless you. Lastpage! |
Godspikin:You seem to think you are in a "seller's market" where you enjoy some kind of monopoly and can call the shots? ![]() There are sellers of building products like iron, Cement, Sand, Blocks, Wood, Roofing sheets, Paints, e.t.c. who know how the market works and how "being openly transparent" with product price, initiates and motivates "sales". ...and their sales figure accrued from Nairaland, has proved them right What the person was asking for is not even an exact price.... just an ESTIMATE! Which means a plus or minus Y% is involved. The final figure is what needs to be discussed privately but even then, a whole house has been built and every Kobo spent stated and explained here! Go and ask Builders like @Spyder, what transparency in business means And as l am reading this, l am also thinking and wondering if it is "cost effective" for me to actually use Red Bricks for a part (not all) of a building l am doing, for aesthetic reasons but l feel if l get the information right now, l can do a little "calculation" without all the stress (including safety & Security) of sending my house plans to someone l dont know from Adam (No pun/disrespect intended).... just to make a simple decision l can adequately make, without such risks! Your example of G-Wagon Vs. RX350 is completely irrelevant and more like comparing "Apples and Oranges" Some major decisions (like building your home) is not all about ostentation or "throwing money" at anything available. One of the problems with Nigerians that are "rich" (mostly half educated, stinkingly rich political/civil servant appointees with access to filthy lucre or those we call "money-miss-road" ) ....is that they think "burning money" makes then stand out while all it does is sooth and massage their inflated ego!Rich people who worked assiduously for their money, ALWAYS MIND EVERY PENNY THEY SPEND and for them, every expense is an economic decision............. not just an ego trip! Reason being that they know their are ten better things, including charity, to do with the money moreso, they know that such "artificial and ostentatious things" DONT DEFINE WHO THEY ARE or their PERSONALITY. The "very rich' actually dont like to be noticed at all. Go and figure it out. Anyway, your "business model" is your decision and prerogative, l can only wish you Goodluck but l definitely wont be sending my house plans to anyone, except as an absolute necessity ....... and that would be after our discussion has actually reached an advanced stage and l have made the "preliminary decisions". Merry Xmas and happy New Year in advance Lastpage! |

mu2sa2:Do you remember the "Ejigbo 'arranged' plane accident" that killed about 200 fine officers under IBB? ![]() Thing is: If an intellectual man is at loggerheads with a half illiterate who is handed Power by some chance of fate, that intellectual is in mortal danger. You wonder why those illiterate policemen are always eager to mow down University students, during any form of even Peaceful protest? now you know. Check between OBJ and Fela Ransome Kuti - ...same storyline. Lastpage! |
chuzydon:Generally, you should never shout at your Parents... even if they say hurtful things to you, TRY and WALK AWAY! Bible says we shoudl obey and respect our Parents so that our days may be long!. That is a command with a Promise. The Bible also admonishes PARENTS not to EXASPERATE their children. Exasperate means "to provoke beyond control". I guess no one remembers this passage as l see no one has mentioned it at all? It is difficult to know exactly how to advice you because we need to be sure of certain things like: 1.) What were the "exact words" you used? This will allow one to judge and measure the level of "hurt' she might be feeling. trust me, "some" Mothers also play on the emotions of their children to the point of Blackmailing them, so they can always control them. Some mothers still want to control their married son/ daughter like s/he was a ten yr old. Now, dont get me wrong, like l said, you should never disrespect your Parents. 2.) What did she say to you, that made you say those words to her? I ask this because l want to know whether it is a case of "child exasperation" ..or a case of "delinquency" on your part. In both cases, you still must not be disrespectful to her. She is your Mother! If it is a case of delinquency on your part, l would urge you to retrace your steps back because what you do to your Parents (Not just your Mother), may come back to hunt you, when you have your own kids. You then need to kneel down, ask God for forgiveness and try to make her happy ... not because of the threats people are writing here ... but because it is THE RIGHT THING TO DO.Never act out of fear, but do that which is right before God and man, that your conscience may set you free. Buy her a gift (nothing expensive to cause you financial headache) ...something to show her that you are remorseful and want her to forgive your bad behaviour. henceforth, keep being a good lad. If your outburst was as a result of "genuine exasperation".... (forget, we are all humans and we have feelings and emotional threshold) ... it still does not excuse your being disrespectful but one can understand that "you dont mean it but you simply lost your head". That is "human". Next thing to do is to learn to control your "emotions". I mean, in the face of provocation (it may come from anyone, your DAd, Mom or wife in future, inclusive), learn to remain calm and focused. Promise yourself to always "be in control' of your feelings. It is a very important virtue in life. It will help you in future. Now, despite how you feel, your Parent is/are your Parent. You MUST respect them. Write her a letter. express yourself "freely but respectfully" to her, let her know how you feel about whatever she has said, that brought out the "beast" in you. As Parents, we are also not infallible and we like other humans, offend our children but what we wont accept is for them to use that to disrespect us. My first son is your age, an undergraduate. I slapped him a few years back and he just winced and walked away! Afterwards realised l did it in anger for he did something very wrong. I went to his room to speak with him and found him crying. I asked him if it was the "one slap" that is making an adult like him cry like a baby? He said "No, that he was crying because he felt hurt that he annoyed me to the point where l had to slap him".Now, that clipped my wings seriously. I said "look son, l am sorry, very sorry for slapping you. I should not have done that. I am deeply sorry". He held my hands, knelt down and said l should pray for him. I did and blessed him afterwards. In my own heart, l knew l have erred even though he did not utter any word..... but his tears were like a stab in the heart, for me. Since then, we are like 5 & 6... our relationship can never be better. I am sure the "bagger" would eventually read this before the day ends as he knows my i.d! Son, when you read this, know that you are a wonderful son to behold. I love you deeply. So, you see, keeping quiet as a sign of respect to your parents, could mean even more and have better effect than words can have, even when they exasperate you. Go to your Mom, ask her to forgive you and to pray for you. tell her you are sorry and would work on your temperament. I also hope your Mom will be magnanimous and stop saying you are not her son. Since she wont be reading this, there is nothing l will say to her here I noticed you said "You both are drifting apart" meaning "somethings" have been going-on for some time now? Thats a bad sign and maybe you need to speak with Dad and ask him to "settle" whatever is the 'deep-rooted cause" of the issue. But generally, we parents need to know how to manage our "grown kids". "space", "time", "respect" (not fear!) are things we need to give them and we should be 'calm', being the adult, in dealing with them. Ask you Dad to also plead with her, on your behalf and let her know that you dont mean whatever hurtful words you said and it will NEVER repeat itself again. Remember, if you cant remain calm in a situation... WALK AWAY FROM IT. get some fresh air, take a walk around (day time only), come back in and play some soothing jazz music. Dont also forget, kneel down and pray that God give you wisdom, as you grow older. Be strong and be good. Lastpage Caveat: Sorry, if l dont fall into the category that will blame a child,... just because they are a child. I try to be objective. |
porrigeyam:Those days seem very far off! When our Muslims neighbours celebrate Sallah we join them (I have been doing that with a childhood friend of mine now for over 35 years! I just dey chop Ram dey go nii That way, we dont give a hoot about the hatred that some "Leaders" are preaching so as to divide us, create enmity between us and then use us against ourselves. We just need to be respectful of one another. You might not like me, but please respect my views as l would respect yours. Lastpage! |
yjgm:I heard the Sarduana of Sokoto congratulating Christians on Xmas celebration as well. That is even more a welcome development. Thing is, Nigerians are generally know for their religious moderation and respect for one another/s religion .... except that the POLITICIANS are always trying to use Religion to divide us, for their own selfish ends. Anyoen who is not ignorant knows that the "concept of God/Allah" is an all powerful celestial being who is intelligent enough and strong enough to fight his own "battles", if he chooses to fight .......... and it is foolishness to even attempt to fight or take a life, in the futile attempt to fight on God's behalf. Those are "human failings" and should be avoided. Let all of us say "NO", to any form of INTOLERANCE. Respect for each other and each other's view and opinion is Key. Lastpage! |
abdulwastecx: "Omode o'mogun,, o'npe l'efo"! ( Translated literally for our friends who may not understand Yoruba - A child being ignorant of 'ritual potion', calls it vegetable soup! ....No disrespect, just how it is said) With due respect to your position and belief, let me say that the fact that one has not "personally" experienced something, does not put its existence into doubt". It all boils down to experience!! I have seen "spiritual power" in display (not the charlatan type chorused by Church leaders) on so many occasions that even with my level of western education, l have no iota of doubt about its existence and efficacy, if one has the knowledge. I am not out to convince you because if l were you, l would not be convinced either.... except l experience it first hand. We live in "times" now where such knowledge is gradually disappearing, especially with mentality like yours (though one cannot blame you for your position, it is very "logical and reasonable"! Why should one believe what you have not seen or experienced? ).Growing up, l used to keep a Diary of what My Grand Mother did with such knowledge until one day when l was in school, l was told (later) a nearby river bust it banks after very heavy rain and flooded the whole neighbourhood. Needless to say, l lost the diary as the pages completely clinged to each other afterwards and l could not restore them. That Diary contain "simple treatments" for most ailments that l have seen performed ...and produced a cure, that beggars belief! For example, do you know that with a few words (yes, ordinary spoken words of the mouth) and the head placed against a wall, you can send away any migraine headache from a sufferer? I am talking about that kind of headache that makes someone shed tears like a baby! I use to do this for my friends even when l was at the University (for free) and they were all amazed! Does that sound strange to you? Can you explain it? Does it sound "reasonable and logical" to anyone here? But it works! ![]() Have you ever wondered or tried to explain it that when someone is having hiccups, by simply removing a strand of thread from their cloth and placing it on their head, the hiccups disappears? Try it yourself if you have never done it before. Does that sound "reasonable and logical", from a scientific point of view? My GrandMa once observed that Rats ate the clothing of a woman who was her friend (in our village), they just destroyed her expensive Aso Oke by burrowing holes through it, at random and as a favor, she told her to "say these words, at this specific time of the night". She did exactly that and it was like the rats in every nearby state was invited for a meeting in that locality and a bo.mb was dropped within the meeting. Rats died everywhere so much that we could hardly walk without stepping on a dead rat. I curiously enquired from her, even as a little boy and she told me that "every living thing has a "name" for which it was associated with, at creation; if you know that name, you can "manipulate them" at will, and you can curse them with it, if need be and you can justify it.(which is what she did) Maybe you are not aware that the easiest way to 'injure' anyone is through the name of whoever bore them. How do you explain a situation where a new born baby has these "pounding area" (Yorubas call it Okaa) at the centre of their head and just by putting this seed in water (cant remember the name now... it is opened but when placed in water, it closes. I am sure our Mothers in the house may remember the name) and that child drinking the water, he gets healed? How do you explain the way certain people "set/restore human broken bones" by "breaking the leg of a chicken, saying some words to it and as the leg of the "chicken" heals, the broken bone of the "human" also heals? I have done it in my early years and it is common amongst people of the Niger Delta (Ijaws, Ilajes, e.t.c) and people of certain areas in Ogun state (Ijebus, Aworis, e.t.c). Is that "logical and reasonable"? Hell-No! But it sure works and it is true Okay, l agree, these things are not "reasonable and logical", in scientific terms but l have seen enough empirical/real life scenario/evidence, to know there is "power" beyond science. What l am trying to say is that "because it is not "logical nor reasonable" .... does not mean it is non-existent or false. There are a thousand and one things that seem unreasonable, illogical but existent and true! Seeing, is Believing. Finally, let me say that we cannot continue to blame the "white man" for our failures, six decades after they have left us to do our business. Asian Tigers like Singapore, Malaysia, e.t.c all got independent from their white slave-masters at about the same time as Nigeria or the majority of the black nations of Africa. How is it that these Asian countries have been able to make giant leaps while we are still mired in ridiculous posturings and abominable acts that makes the sense twinge? Do you wonder that the first seeds of palm Oil planted in Malaysia, was taken from Nigeria..... but today, we import a large portion of the palm oil we consume, from ..... you guessed right! MALAYSIA! Do we blame colonial masters for such lack of foresight and "collective foolishness" of our people? Yes, the slave masters plundered us but Mother Earth has given us enough resources to overcome it, in the last sixty years, if we are a serious race. One thing l have noticed about the black race (of which l am one) is that we are trying to compete with the white folks, in things they seem to have a "natural advantage" over us in...... instead of exploiting our own areas of natural advantages over them! These white folks will condemn everything that they know Black race has an advantage over them! That way, we would always be playing catch-Up to them, by trying to beat them at their own game, instead of them trying to compete with us on our own turf. As to the existence of God, "religious positions and fate" aside, even Science has so far been unable to create "Enthalpy" (Order), from "Entropy" (Chaos) and as such, even the much vaunted Big-Bang theory falls flat on its face. You just cant create a much-ordered Earth, from a mere-chance-explosion! ![]() We are then faced with the question: Who or What created the Earth and its high level of ORDER? Call Him/It whatever name you like, God will always be God. Cheers. Lastpage! |
Chekitaut: Take his picture secretly, the picture of his house and where he is building it.............. and PLACE IT HERE, under another username. Leave the rest for God. Like you said, when peeps die mysteriously, just at the point of their "success:, we begin to wail on their behalf and think there is no God. Bible said we should never rob a worker of his wages. Karma is real. Lastpage! |
mavverick:My Chairman, let me chip-in here. Is there difference between "use of herbs" to cure ailments as ordered by God himself.... and use of "spiritual powers and principalities" ...or even the use of "sleight of hand" (which some call magic since they dont understand it) ? The three are very different things. 1.) Use of herbs: This is as a result of 'trial and error' which is then perfected as 'knowledge', over time. For example, how do we know that a particular tree like Dongoyaro (Yoruba) has more efficacy in curing Malaria, than any known Quinine drug (which even suffers resistance from the malaria plasmodium!). It is a process developed over generations through trial and error. 2.) Use of spiritual powers and Principalities: God is a spirit! Man was created in the "image" of God and therefore, Man is also a spiritual being. Though some dont believe in God (which l consider foolish as all evidence point in the opposite direction and confirm that there is indeed a "higher celestial being" ...... by whatever name you wish to call HIM). Time, knowledge and experience has shown that when man dies, his "spirit/soul" (life force) leaves his body and what remains is just "beef", not different from that of the 'cow meat' we buy in the market! (I did not say you should then go and cook it and chop o! We also know that some of these "spirits" go bad, just as some "celestial beings" (Angels) fell short of expactations but thsy still had their "powers and knowledge" intact. With proper "mental and psychic proper development", some 'humans" are able to harness such powers.... for Good use ....or for Bad use. This is where Juju or Voodoo or other "spiritual powers" come. The initiated are able to harness these spiritual powers to do good (which is what most founding fathers of "Caucasian" civilisation did, Same with early Egyptians of old who built magnificent things, star-gazed and predicted things that took 'science' hundreds of years to explain. As for the "black man", we are yet to harness such spiritual powers for "good development in our lives" especially in the areas of invention but we have excelled in using them mostly for evil things! I have seen quite a few good uses in my life time, especially in my early days as a teenager, in my rural setting. The knowledge is still there but kept very secret by those in the know, as there are very "strict guiding principles" surrounding it (like honesty of purpose, equity, e.t.c) ......but because our current generations have been known to abuse such powers and have a tendency to be irresponsible, unlike our fathers, it is usually kept away from them. Forget all those "quackery" that say they have 'medcine' because what they have is just tom-foolery! ![]() True spiritual powers doeth no evil but it takes vengeance very seriously, for the oppressed. 3.) Sleight of hand: this basically has to do with "deception" whereby you trick someone to believe that which does not really exist using speed of movement, trickery and other forms of deceptive movements. This is what we call "Magic", as we know it in conclusion, "Juju" still exists and will always exist but be assured that there are loads of trickery out there, especially in a place like Lagos! ![]() Lastpage! |
brabus:I follow say a BIG "Amen" to that.! ![]() At the end of the day, we reap what we sow... in the short or long run! Happy Edel Malud, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of us in-here. May this not be our last .....as l have seen a lot of folks pass-away in the last four weeks, that l consider myself lucky and enjoying the "special grace" of Almighty God, to be alive and moving triumphantly into a new year. My covenant with God is that: As long as you keep living soul" in me, my soul will sing and praise your name. Lastpage! |
omohayek:..And shouldn't we have the "steady power supply FIRST".... to justify the incessant increases in tarrif? Again, what has "dollar rate" got to do with the power tariff or is power "imported" from somewhere overseas, into Nigeria? let me point out that power is generated majorly from GAS, which Nigeria has in abundant supply ... and the price, like that of crude, is falling drastically. So, its not even an imported product talk-less of "dollarising" it Like any capitalist, GENCOS would like to increase tariff to a million Naira, if allowed since people have no choice in power supply but that does not make it right nor make the "small increase" welcome development. These GENCOS bidded for, and warn the contract to supply power and l want to believe they did their homework before bidding. All these noise about "not meeting production cost" is a farce and it is because those that make laws or are in a position to increase tariff, are the ssme "backyard" owners of the GENCOS. They are just feeding their cash-cow from the pocket of the masses. Its called GRAND DECEPTION If l can get that list of owners of each GENCO, l will past it here so you all see what l am talking about. That wicked NERC Chairman, SAM AMADI, was used to do the "dirty job" even when he has only TWO DAYS left in office, he implemented this policy, despite the SENATE not approving it! He did not wait to ensure that Pre=Paid Meters were distributed in almost all homes FIRST, but was in a hurry to implement higher tariffs. That is how wicked the ruling elites (Those with authority in Nigeria) are. ![]() Lastpage! |
banio:Reminds me of Gov Oshiomole (as NLC President) and Reuben Abatti (as Guardian Newspaper Editor), during the fuel hike protest under OBJ. These traitors sold the struggle out for parcels of land and a lot of money (which Oshiomole finally used to launch his Governorship ambition) .. ...and Reuben Abatti got paid back by being made a mouth piece of the Government, as Spokesman to OBJ Govt. NLC is a sellout, they just want to use the masses to advance their own personal cause! Lastpage! |
Toktee:Dont pay that 13K. Just pay what YOU think is reasonable (like 3K). When they come to cut your light, prevent them if possible or reconnect it back. Just ensure you pay "something reasonable" every month. Its a matter for the courts eventually. The new NERC law (tariff order 2015) states that "if you dispute a Bill, PHCN cannot disconnect your power during the period of dispute..... but you keep paynig the old rate you normally pay" Lastpage! |
Demmocrats:I like your post gidigidi gaan ni! These people see us as fools to be exploited. price increase HAS NEVER BEEN a panacea for better services ............ never in the history of Nigeria. Lastpage!

mufutau55:But a lot of "book/Alakowe" peeps say Juju is just our imagination and fantasy! ![]() They ask why we have not been able to use it to land on the moon, build an aeroplane or even "command" American Dollars into our own CBN vaults! ![]() Why does it find 'expression' is very evil and mundane things like this, if it is that efficacious? Lastpage! |
Ioannes:Infact, now l understand why our "leaders" prefer us to be poor.... instead of providing the enabling infrastructure for us to be self-sustaining! Fayose is creating new sets of "Ekiti-Almanjeri" citizens ...... in Yorubaland of all places! It just remain for them to carry BOWL in hand and line up in front of his house every morning! ![]() Haaa, Ekiti-kete, na so una suffer don reach? May God deliver Ekiti people from this calamity called "FAYOSE"! ![]() Lastpage! BTW: This money that is being wasted on Rice (I know half of it is looted) can be channelled into Agricultural loans to Young Farmers who will in-turn Grow enough Rice to feed their family and sell the rest without mortgaging their future to this Street Urchin called Fayose *Give a man Fish/Rice, you would have fed him for one day *Teach a man HOW TO FISH (Grow Rice), you would have fed him for the rest of his life |
