A woman accusing her husband of infidelity when there is ZERO proof warants an angry response. I repeat she started the fight UNPROVOKED... she never anticipated how much damage her utterances would cause.

If my brother accuses me of stealing when there is no proof (and I didn't steal) I would get offended... the same if my girlfriend accuses me of cheating!
It was not unprovoked. sad There is something he must have said or done, that gave rise to the allegations of cheating. Read the man's story here: https://www.nairaland.com/4629255/husbands-pride-wants-ruin-home. He went verbally ballistic, because there was some truth to her comments. If your wife or girlfriend accuses you of cheating, your best bet is not to lose your temper, but to set the records straight. No woman would accuse a man of cheating out of the blue, if something did not provoke it. Basic Psychology 101. Her insults though, went overboard. undecided

" initial capital is likely to be in the range of $US 150 to 300 million, invested in tranches over time from start up through the first years of operation,” a government document stated.

It said the government will provide initial capital but did not state the sum or give further details.

The government will “facilitate the process for opening up the capital of the airline to private sector financial investors”, the document stated.

No where was it stated that the 5% was for the initial start up cost.

Secondly, it clearly stated that the government will provide the initial capital.

Third, the estimation left rooms for cost over runs as there was no clear time frame when the government will stop the funding..

Fact remains that the proposal is still murky and lacks transparency.

His side of the story has been read and digested. Nothing more for him to add. sad The woman did not start a fight unprovoked. “*Air Nigeria/Nigeria Air*

Ordinarily, it should gladdens the heart when plans were set to revive Nigeria air fleet for commercial purpose.

But critical comparison to other countries with national fleets has propounded these questions begging for answers.

One might ask why the rush to unveil a logo when there are no aircraft's, personnel's, websites and other functional apparatus on ground?
Is this another gimmicks to score points.

*Time shall tell*

- Who are the owners of the *95%* equity?

- Why is the ownership shrouded in secrecy?

- Why is *5%* equity holder funding the business?

- Where are these fundings *$8m, $300m coming from? Budget? Borrowing*?

- Are the aircrafts under lease agreement? *If yes, for how many years*?

- If it's private investment, why would a *5%* equity holder determine the *name, logo and other trademarks* of the airline?

- Since it's private sector driven, why not adopt any of the existing airlines in Nigeria as the National carrier?

- Are there sinister motives? Sure! Time shall tell.

Facts that you may need to compare notes:

Other National carriers in Africa.

*Kenya*
Fleet size: *40*
Kenya Airways is *48.9%* owned by the Government of Kenya

*Ethiopia*
Fleet size: *100*
Ethiopian Airways is *100%* owned by government.

*Morocco*

*South Africa*

Sorry, I had to edit your post and transfer it to this thread. sad These are some of the logical airline comparisons that should be made, which you have just listed here. undecided Yet, someone is telling me that nobody should compare an existing airline's valuation, with that of a non-existing airline whose fleet size, assets and destinations cannot be verified. Good thing you know and acknowledge that you do not have any info about the proposed Nigeria Air. But the question I have is, "if you do not have any details of its fleet size, number of destinations etc, how exactly does it then make any sense to compare a something you have zero info on to Virgin?.... Cant you still see how pointless that comparison is?....

By the way I think I read somewhere that the plan is to have Nigeria Air cover up to 84 destinations; that already is double the coverage of Virgin. You and I still do not know the total number of planes Nigeria Air plans to acquire, but based on this sketchy information, you and Mustafa already proceeded to make economic judgements and comparison between Nigeria air and Virgin. Once again, can you still not see how pointless your comparison is?
Oga, you read that Nigeria Air is to have 84 destinations? Where? shocked Please post the url and link, so we can all read and verify. I repeat: No rational, sensible, logical adult would accept the valuation of a non-existent airline whose assets, fleet etc are unknown, especially if it is an entity that has not earned any revenue, when it is compared with those of an existing airline with a balance sheet, whose existing fleet, destinations and assets are well-known. I believe in verifiable facts and figures.

You are free to write another long epistle to justify your inane stand. sad Kindly do not quote me when next you do so. I do not argue with those whose views are based on a flawed premise.

The simple answer to that question is YES. It all depends on the size or the proposed size of the business. You cannot automatically expect a keke napep to cost more than a brand new BMW simply because the keke napep is currently in operation on the streets and making profits. First question that really should have been asked is, "what is the size of the proposed Nigeria Air in comparison to the current size of Virgin Atlantic?"... It's only when/if it is established that both airlines are of similar size, that is the only time the comparison by Mr Mustafa Obi would be meaningful.

Oga I'm only defending common sense here and trying to promote fact based arguments.

How many planes would be in their fleet? = You do not know.
Would they be a regional carrier or a long-haul trans-atlantic carrier? = You do not know
Virgin Atlantic currently has a fleet size of 39 planes = You do not know the proposed fleet size of the Nigeria Air.

Try and read through everything you wrote again, every single thing you wrote is an ASSUMPTION.

How can you make an assumption in your head, then automatically hold your ASSUMPTION as FACT, and then proceed to make public arguments and condemnations based purely on your assumption?... And then plof course when I or anyone else faults the logic in your argument, you accuse me of "defending Nigeria Air"? ...What ever happened to waiting and sourcing right info first before proceeding to make arguments and condemnations of everything?
Oga, there were no assumptions in my posts, only questions. sad Virgin Atlantic's fleet size, assets and destinations are a matter of public record. Nigeria Air's fleet size, destination and assets are totally unknown, or nowhere to be found. And you expect any rational logical person to swallow that Nigerian Air's valuation, hook, line & sinker? Oga, na wa for you, o! shocked

Oga, stop defending this Nigerian Air valuation, it is not worth it. How many planes would be in their fleet? Would they be a regional carrier or a long-haul trans-atlantic carrier? Virgin Atlantic currently has a fleet size of 39 planes, and is renewing its fleet. It has ordered an additional 17 Boeing 787s. It flies to over 40 destinations world wide. It operates a total of 32 daily nonstop flights between North America and the UK. Do you have proof that Nigerian Air's fleet & destinations would exceed this size? Can a proper valuation be carried out, based on this?
PoliticsRe: Mustafa Chike-obi Former AMCOM Boss Tweets On The Air Nigeria by LaudableXX: 3:51pm On Jul 22, 2018

How exactly is the cost of Virgin Atlantic a proper yardstick to measure the supposed cost of every other airline?... If 31% of Virgin is worth $286m, does that automatically mean the value of 31% of Airline B must also be in the range of $283m irrespective of fleet size?... The comparison by Mustafa is irrelevant.
Oh,how would the new Nigerian Air which has not started operations yet and has posted zero revenue, have its shares more highly valued than those of Virgin Atlantic that has been running for years, owns multiple assets and has a large fleet size? Can a business who value is yet to be determined and currently has zero value, be worth more than an enterprise which already exists, and has churned out profits before recording a loss in just one year?

How can students pay for 300k for that trash. Even if they want to increase the tuition, it should be gradually, not that someone would just wake up in the morning to hear that he's to pay double of what he use to.

Make them use government money improve the quality first, then people would know they're truely paying for quality education.

You guys should stop that rubbish talk that " education is not for everyone"... Most Nigerians are already illiterates. Make una leave the few wey dey try to learn.

Many of our elders, parents and grandparent's generation in the 50s, 60s & 70s, were children of farmers and commodity traders, but they enjoyed university education due to the low fees, scholarships and grants in place, during their own time. I've flown KQ 4 times, roundtrips to Nairobi from Lagos, to Kigali from Nairobi and to Madagascar from Nairobi. In all honesty, all 4 times the flights went off well even though the Nairobi to Madagascar flight was delayed on both legs of the trip. I'm scheduled to travel to Kenya again in February and I'll definitely fly KQ again.

As someone mentioned above, the East Africans are really doing well in aviation. I've also flown Rwandair from Kigali to Lagos and it was also excellent. All these airlines are all government owned, another lesson we have to learn before we float the so-called Nigeria Air.

It is instructive that there are no major West African airlines to speak of since Arik's demise and the only other airline active internationally in West Africa is Asky, which is operated by Ethiopian Airlines.

We need to get our act together.
KQ is great. cheesy I have flown them several times to Nairobi and other West African countries. But I once had a bad experience with them in Zimbabwe, on my way to Namibia. I had to take a connecting flight to Zim from Nairobi. I should have spent 2 hours in Jomo Kenyatta Airport before making the connection, but I was surprised when I disembarked and was told the connecting flight was just about to leave, so I should rush and make sure I got on board. It turns out the airline staff were wrong. sad

There was a connecting flight quite alright, but not mine. I got to Zimbabwe, and that was where everything went wrong. The Zim immigration officials were hostile, while the KQ officials were nowhere to be found. angry I had to spend the night, lying on a bench within the airport. In the morning, I marched off to the KQ office once they were open, and gave them a good piece of my mind! They were quite apologetic though, and took me to the first class lounge in the airport, offered me free food and drinks, and rebooked my next connecting flight, at no additional charge! wink

My initial comment did not deserve the kind of response from you. There is no way issues about a house should lead to a marriage breaking up. It's not worth it.
I know the OP is pained, and rightfully so. I suggested what will make him stronger in the marriage. Leaders are not necessarily rulers or dictators. If his wife is a good woman as I hope, she will respond positively to reconcillations from him. It will even surprise her.
Meanwhile he gets to heal and save his marriage. He also will be able to have peace of mind- this is non existent in a troubled marriage.

He can easily make enough money to buy or build houses within a few years and in an honest way. That's what God can do but it normally works when the marriage front is stable.
Now let me tell you some things, I have been in a successful marriage for over a decade. I have a joint account with my wife and she is a sole signatory also in my business accounts. My marriage has been tested many times and we came out successfully and stronger each time.
It's not good to be dividing funds or to operate different accounts in a marriage- my thoughts.
It's not also good to be exchanging bad words online. Apologies for my coarse words.
Guy, you have said it all. wink And you have said it well. I doff my hat to you. cool You see, all those forming Voltron on this thread, would probably take worse crap from their wives after they get married, when the chips are down. If you see a successful marriage, please know they have weathered many storms. That is what some people do not realise. Those advising separation or preaching divorce to the couple, do not wish them well. The man was justified in getting upset, but to move out of the house, abandoning her and his kids, was totally wrong. By the time other members of the family interfere and take sides, things could get worse from there, and it would be difficult to initiate a reconciliation. undecided

Two weeks ago we had a major misunderstanding, it was soo intense to the extent that he told me to park out of the house, in the heat of things i told him that cannot be possible that the house is in my name, he was shocked, saying it is impossible we built it together that it's in his name, i had to remind him what happened then, he was furious saying it was wrong of me to use my name, that he cant believe he has been staying in a house that does not belong to him, he told his family what i did claming victim, then he packed out saying he wont come home till i change the name to his full name, i begged him to no avail, i dont even know how to tell my people, imagine if it was in his name, i and the kids would have been out of the house by now, he has requested for transfer from his office to another state cos of this, who does that??
