Let govt put on their thinking caps, and look for different ways to fund the sector, instead of creating further hardship for the masses by making them pay more, for epileptic electricity supply. Govt has a huge source of opportunities and funding options, available to it. The masses do NOT. You are defending poor service, so stop the pretence.

The Federal Government only divested its interest in the six GenCos, while selling off 60% of its shares in the eleven (11) DisCos to private operators. The federal govt still owns 40% shares in these DisCos, and the Transmission Company still remains fully under government ownership.

1.When we privatised electricity distribution and generation, the price increase was written into the law that governs the thing.

2.We need anything between $300-900billion to get light 24/7.

3.Privatization means that you pay more from your pocket.

4.We have to pay our bills...and let's be frank...we pay bills lower than countries like Ghana...who pay twice as much as we do.

5.Electricity is not a free lunch.

So bloody what if the increases were written into contracts signed during privatisation? Can't contracts be re-negotiated, and laws repealed? Does that law give the DISCOs a right to use such increases to extort the masses?

You pay bills lower than Ghana. Do you get the same amount of electricity supply that residents of Ghana get, every day? undecided

When SIM cards were 10,000 naira at the inception of GSM Services in Nigeria, how many people had a mobile phone? huh

You first and second questions are the same.

Port-harcourt International Airport has separate facilities for international and domestic flights. In 2009, the airport served 1,081,587 passengers, making it the third-busiest airport in Nigeria.

Some of the overhead bridges and flyovers in Lagos & Ogun, were built recently by the state governors of Lagos, and Ogun state. Ask your own state governors to do the same. sad

The reasons you listed above are inadequate to account for the daily migration of your people to Lagos, till date. Hold your leaders accountable for failing to develop your land. And follow up with them to ensure that your young people stop migrating into other lands, and stay back to develop their homeland. Their romance with wanderlust needs to stop.... undecided

Finally, you have still not answered all the questions I asked. You have only offered excuses to deflect them. So I repeat:

1). Did the Yorubas put a gun to the head of your people, and force them to come to Lagos? shocked

2). Did the Yoruba people make it compulsory for your people to buy land within Lagos?

3). Is there a curse in your region that stops your people from staying inside their region, and becoming hardworking so that they can prosper without having to come to Lagos?

Most of the housing estates in Lekki and Ajah axis were developed (and are still being developed) by those Yoruba people, with a few South-South folks working alongside them. Most of the landlords in that axis are Yoruba. sad

Even Festac still has a lot of Yoruba landlords, with many of them occupying entire streets (or many different cul-de-sacs), within the area. Bros, it is likely to be Alaba, Orile, Ajegunle or Okota. Na dem full dat area....why did he even leave the southeast to come to Lagos, 5 years ago? And now, he is advising his brothers to go back home to the East and build mansions? If the SE region was so sweet, then why did he leave?
