PoliticsRe: Under Hausas And Yorubas Nigeria Became The Corruption Capital Of The World. by lawani(m): 2:48pm On Feb 15, 2024
The problem is you can not make someone President just because of origin. It is not good like that. Yoruba did not fight Biafra until Biafra invaded Yoruba land. Nigeria can work but definitely not as it is currently. It was not Lugard who created the first modern nation for west Africans or what do you mean? The Ijesa are a nation on whose land is almost five million people today. Old Oyo land might contain 150 million people today. Therefore Lord Lugard is not the inventor of nation building in west Africa. If an Igbo man or Edo want to be President they will be President if they work for it. They should not necessarily expect it via quota system or as of right

FamilyHappy Valentine 2024 by lawani(op): 7:14am On Feb 14, 2024
Valentine 2024

This is the first Valentine I realized I have twenty first class women chosen for me to be in my inner circle by the US and allies as life partners. Starting from Barbara Bush who grew up to learn she was on the project and have spent all her life to wait for me and after finding me, to pray for me then Elaine Putin who agreed with her Dad President Putin to a polygamous marriage because it had become necessary at the point to Bristol Palin who plunged herself into it as an eighteen year old girl when she heard what was happening from her parents by way of Enoch Adeboye paying to run me mad and Queen Elizabeth using my employees to poison me. She contacted me anonymously and donated herself to my personal life assuring me not to worry about finances saying the US will take care of it. She thought she was the only one as at 2008. Then Alicia Keys who I discovered online first and who has been one of Barbara's biggest supporters and she is also a war volunteer who deployed herself then Chelsea Clinton who also deployed herself and turned it into a proper polygamy without knowing about Elaine. She brought in her friend Toqzl Tay who fought the war much like Alicia Keys but on a different platform by taking up CEOs and leaders of government business then all the others that were picked one by one by the CIA and allies. I will know the full list when I meet Barbara Bush but I wish all of them a happy valentine and I promise them I will be there for them permanently and before others just like they were there for me. The same also applies to the total of one hundred and three ladies that were granted three kids each by the US and allies who will be in the family and under the supervision of the twenty and myself. We will celebrate many more Valentine days together by the grace of God. Happy happy Valentine.
Foreign AffairsQueen Elizabeth Of The British Commonwealth. A Fuller Account by lawani(op):
On February 12 I got a reading off Elaine Putin about Queen Elizabeth saying she was compelled to wait for me. She refuted it and said she agreed and she is satisfied with me. It took me back to her matter because it seemed odd that I was getting only two murders for her and it also seemed odd that a whole Ogunsua of Modakeke would be involved in such. I therefore started to pester Ifa until I got a fuller story that exonerated the Ogunsua of Modakeke.
Story
It started in 2008. It was late President Sheu Shagari after reading my comments and articles on social media that commented to President Babangida that the young man that he discovered online will certainly be a President of Nigeria. He later told some other Northern Nigerian leaders as well. In the same 2008 during the administration of President Yaradua, the then Vice President, VP Goodluck Jonathan nominated me for government appointment during one of the Federal executive council meetings. He said I write brilliantly on the way forward for Nigeria. I desire the progress of the country and I should be employed because of my intellect. Queen Elizabeth got the information on the nomination from Governor Shekarau of Kano and the knowledge of the comment of President Shagari from Northern leaders in general. IFA said I made some statements back then that she did not like to the effect that even if our population is growing we can have a plan and it will not affect us much. For instance we can be admitting foreigners to balance out any high dependency ratio that may be precipitated. I also said we should pick a local language to be used as lingua franca. I then concluded that if all that is done then Nigeria will become prosperous in an unprecedented manner. Queen Elizabeth then decided that my activities are not in line with the objectives of the British Commonwealth and then she chose the option of assassinating me. Ifa said she used a former British MP, Chuka Umunna for the operation. According to Ifa he was the one communicating directly with my former employee Opeyemi Ojeyemi and he said I have been insulting some people online and the government have decided to eliminate me. It was between himself and Opeyemi Ojeyemi alone and they sealed it. When the bid failed and Opeyemi could not explain how. Chuka Umunna reported to Queen Elizabeth and he directed him to keep trying. He tried with a total of three people. Two employees and one neighbor. The employees are Ope Ojeyemi and Precious (Tawakalitu). Both took money from him. Stella did not take money from him. It was in 2009 that Queen Elizabeth learnt of the impending marriage between myself and Barbara Bush and she got the information from an American lady of the Democratic party who was governor a few years earlier than 2009. The Queen did not relent even after knowing of Barbara Bush and she made another attempt in 2013 and that was the attempt that passed through Pastor Odugbesan to me via my parents. It was Simon Heathcote Parker that was used for the 2013 attempt and he was killed by Prince Edward because he added me as a friend on Facebook.
Queen Elizabeth has killed a total of thirteen people over the span of her reign. Three British citizens, 4 Nigerians, 5 Indians and 1 South African. Among the Nigerians are Chief Harry Marshall, Major General Tunde Idiagbon and two others from Edo state and Rivers state. The Edo person was killed by gunfire in 2017 while the Rivers person was killed by poison in 2020.

Which other country issues jokes regularly from official quarters?. Ordinary Nigerians in general don't use dom accounts anymore because of CBN rules. Only big men use Dom accounts and it has been so for many years. These big Dom accounts are conniving with the CBN to gain something from forex inflow. The accounts controlling forex inflow from abroad are not many and people generally have been receiving money from abroad in naira for years after the people that are friends of government have taken their cut. What they do in government is agree on how to rip off the masses and claim to have done nation building
Foreign AffairsThe Prince Of Wales And The Duke Of Edinburgh by lawani(op): 12:53am On Feb 09, 2024
In the last few minutes of February 8 2024, I got more guidance telepathically from Elaine Putin and I was able to be on a sounder footing than before.
Prince Williams of Wales also deployed assassins against me and he mentioned it to Bill Gates founder of Microsoft on April 1 2013 but the meat of what he said was not given to me. However Bill Gates answered him that I was going to defeat him from a direction he never envisaged and he did not have any answer to that. His attempt passed through a RCCG Pastor who is the husband of my mum’s younger sister. His name is Pastor Abiodun Odugbesan but he was not paid any money for the transaction. It was obviously from an authority figure to a subordinate and the poisoned food item was passed to me in the same manner via my parents when I was still staying at the Akinsanya’s in Warewa Ogun state. IFA said Bill Gates was worried about what would happen to the Steve Jobs will in his possession if Prince William's assassination attempt on me should succeed. Prince Williams according to Ifa was said to have acted because of an online comment I made to the effect that the USA has surpassed the UK with population.
The last child of Queen Elizabeth Prince Edward of Edinburgh was also not left behind. He did not have any reason other than to provide supporting fire for his mother. He contacted the first lady of Nigeria as at then in person of Dr Mrs Patience Jonathan and he recruited her into the assassination plot. He paid her four hundred and seventy thousand pounds for the job in October 2015 but the money was returned to him by Dr Mrs Patience Jonathan on September 19 2016. Both men will be contacted by the NHRC India and advised to give up half of all their assets to the New Earth foundation
CrimeQueen Elizabeth Of England by lawani(op): 7:39pm On Feb 08, 2024
According to Ifa, in 2008, Queen Elizabeth of England decided that I was obstructing her plan to turn the Yoruba people to proper British people and she decided that I must die. She then deployed a British Facebook friend of mine named Simon Heathcote Parker to do the job and it ended in using one of my former employees named Opeyemi Ojeyemi to poison me. She brought Easter food for me in 2008 and the food was poisoned by herself and her mum and they were given the poison by the Ogunsua of Modakeke Ile Ife but it was intercepted by the CIA. I ate the food and nothing happened. At that point, Opeyemi became afraid and reported to her Mum. They then decided that they will find a way of giving the less than two hundred thousand naira that they were paid to me as a form of restitution and that is the explanation behind the money Opeyemi was always adding to my business from time to time that she claimed belonged to.her elder brother in Lagos who was a transporter back then. It was after Queen Elizabeth's assassination attempt on me that Prime Minister David Cameron added me as a friend on facebook. Simon Heathcote Parker is no longer alive as he was immediately killed by Queen Elizabeth upon the failure of the assassination bid.
It is rather sad. Therefore the NHRC India should approach her family and demand the handover of all her assets to the New Earth Foundation and if it is not substantial enough by the estimation of the NHRC India then the British government should pay something on her behalf to be added to the assets of the New Earth Foundation.

The main expense is the salary of the crew and we know those who can afford it. However you can buy a private jet under your name and use it as a commercial craft like a cruise boat and you will still be listed as the owner of such a jet
Christianity EtcShould Hindus Take Up Arms Against Islam? by lawani(op): 4:36pm On Jan 29, 2024
Should Hindus take up arms against Islam?
Islam is a religion - an ideology of 1.8 billion people, how can one “take up arms” against an ideology.

What one can and should always do, is to verbally examine, criticise and discuss all ideologies especially those that impact the lives of people - both insiders and outsiders.

When one is invited to join a religion which is promoted as “Divine” revelation and the “Ultimate truth of all truths” - then it should definitely be criticised, refuted and even ridiculed when foolish ideas are presented.

But in general we should leave others to practice their BS (belief systems) and we should support their right to believe whatever they want, as long as it is not disruptive of society and the well being of the citizens.

Free-speech should also be tolerated unless it calls for violence against any group.

What people do in their own homes is not the business of others, but when religion spills over into the public space and media - then it can and should be addressed appropriately.

CrimeDr Rahmon Adedoyin And The Murder Case Of Mr Timothy Adegoke by lawani(op): 6:45am On Jan 27, 2024
When I heard the news of his apprehension and remand by the police for murder, I immediately started urging the CIA in public and in private to use the facility of the Akashic record on offering by the Indians with which they are exposing Enoch Adeboye’s atrocities via generated videos to establish that Dr Adedoyin is not guilty of the murder but I did not succeed. I therefore believed that if he is not responsible for that particular murder he might be responsible for another. I was not satisfied, I therefore used the oracle myself and got a reading saying he is responsible for two murders. I asked if I should plead for him or so and I got No. The development took my mind back to an incident that happened between himself and me many years ago when I was in business in Ile Ife. He pulled up beside me and offered to assist me financially in my business by asking if I have any financial problem and I answered No. I reasoned that if Ifa is saying he is guilty of two murders and the CIA are not ready to help him then it can only mean that he is a human ritualist and his intended gift for me must have been diabolical. I left it at that and made a comment to that effect on a nairaland thread.
However after many months on January 26 2024 I remembered him again and on that occasion I made the effort to ask Ifa specifically if his offer to financially assist me had any evil intent and I got No that he was only interested in seeing me prosper. I was curious. I therefore asked. Did he use people for money rituals?. We're the two people he murdered used for money rituals? I got No he committed a crime of passion by killing an unfaithful wife and her lover. What about Mr Adegoke’s death?. He was set up by those who knew he killed his wife and her lover and those people are the ones who used Mr Timothy Adegoke for rituals. Is their leader himself clean?. No he is also guilty of murder. Though it was a pointless question.
I therefore use this medium to publicly apologize over my comment that Dr Adedoyin might have had an evil intention towards me just because he voluntarily offered to help me financially when I was in Ile Ife. I came to the conclusion because the CIA refused to help him as I was urging them to do.
I hope he will get out of the log jam he was put in by his enemies one way or the other. He was one of my well wishers back in Ile Ife and not only that, he also attempted to help me without seeking any benefit for himself.

An interesting piece.

This again confirms that Benin Empire never had much appetite for slave trade. Of course, OP did not intend to say so.
I wish more tribes followed suit early to ban slave trade.

I have argued on NL for years that beginning with the rise of Oyo in about 1680/90s, slave trade volume increased. Up to about 1770s for sure. About the period that Oyabi and Alaafin Abiodun finally eliminated Bashorun Gaha.

Because there are some tribes who still insist that Benin traded in slaves massively. The duration was short and in fact slave trade in Benin persons or by Benin persons was outlawed quite early. Other tribes within Benin sphere of influence reserved the right to sell or by themselves as slaves.

People need to understand what slavery was in the past. It was a means of accounting for everybody and slaves were not exported. Oyo were exporting their opponents as were doing other nations of west Africa. There was no slave port under the control of the Benin empire as far as I know. It was Oyo that dominated the trade. Any captive you can not keep us vest exported and they will include criminals and those that tend to attempt escaping
CultureA Cursory Look At The Transatlantic Slave Trade by lawani(op): 5:25am On Dec 17, 2023
The main pre industrial empire that profited from the transatlantic slave trade was the Yoruba Oyo empire of West Africa that monopolized the trade for centuries by being in control of the Bight of Benin also known as the slave coast. Ajase (Porto Novo) was one of the big cities of the empire that was the headquarter of an Aare ona Kakanfo the head of the imperial army of the Oyo at one point. That was the Aare ona Kakanfo Oyabi who put down the Bashorun Gaha civil war at the Oyo ile capital by marching on the capital with the imperial army in support of the Alaafin Abiodun.
The main human merchandise of the Oyo empire were Muslims of the Savannah especially Hausas, Fulanis, Malians and people from Central Africa then fellow Yorubas who were opponents of the Oyo but over the first few centuries of contact with Europe and the Americas by the Oyo and other Yoruba, the traffic in slaves was not heavy and more or less all slaves departed from the Oyo controlled slave coast which is also called the Bight of Benin. Badagry also was an Oyo controlled slave port after it was taken by the Oyo after a blockade. It was under the control of the Oyo when the Oyo Ile civil war of Bashorun Gaha broke out and some children of the Bashorun Gaha fled to the city and their descendants are indigenes of the place today.
It was later that the Ashanti empire became a player in the slave trade but not long after that they came under the control of the Oyo empire and the reigning Asantehene was removed and replaced by a new one under the authority of the Alaafin of Oyo after the Atakpame war. Therefore it can be said that the transatlantic slave trade to a large extent was firmly under the control of the Oyo empire until the beginning of the industrial revolution or until the early nineteenth century and the human merchandize was mainly Yoruba and Muslims of the Sahel and the Savannah of West Africa to North Africa but there were others too. DNA tests will confirm this.

It was after the decline of the Oyo empire that the slave trade became a free for all and it also approximated the time the British started to fight against the trade. Oyo ile was burnt down by Ilorin jihadists and Ibadan became the most prominent Oyo city but without the traditional cutting edge of the empire’s military which was the calvary, the long arm of the empire. Dahomey declared independence, Lisabi rose in Egba and led a rebellion that killed hundreds of Oyo Ajeles within a few days. The Oyo empire became a shadow of itself and it was Ibadan piecing it together without using calvary when the colonization by Britain started by the invitation of the Yoruba themselves after seventeen years of the Kiriji civil war. Egba remained independent and joined Nigeria voluntarily in 1914.

When Oyo remained mainly Ibadan, Ogbomosho, Oyo Alaafin Iwo, Ede and etc including Ilorin under the Ajikobi after the defeat of Ilorin in Osogbo and Ibadan was struggling to unite the Yoruba in the forest area and the Savannah up to River Niger while in alliance with the Borgu, the slave trade fell under the control of the Dahomey, Ijebu, Awori Ijaw and the Calabar. It was during this time that the trade spiked and there was very great traffic but a few decades of spike can still not be compared with centuries of steady flow of human merchandize and free men. For example a Nupe named Oshodi Tapa in the employ of the Oba of Lagos was still recorded to have gone to Brazil in the 1890s on behalf of his principal. A 15th century Ijesa King Owa Atakunmosa spent eleven years abroad with seven of it in Brazil where he left two sons (personal research). He returned to Ijesa and was made the King at about sixty years of age. There were a number of Oba of Benin and Olu of Warri as well in the same category. At the time of the spike in the volume of the trade late in the nineteenth century the majority of the people sold were Yoruba followed by Igbo and others and raiders in the Yoruba country thrived because of the many wars. The raiders included Oyo, Fulani and Nupe Muslims as well as other Yoruba as it was a free for all. People were captured as slaves during wars and in farms or at home and by raiders raiding small settlements.. For example Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther who was a freed slave that later became the first African Bishop of the Niger and hence the highest representative of the British in West Africa at a point said he was captured by a mixture of Oyo and Fulani people and was passed hand to hand, exchanged for a horse at one point before getting into the hands of those in control of the coast who would have been Ijebu. He was sold to a slaving ship but was rescued by the British and raised in Sierra Leone. Testimony in Calabar say the majority of slaves sold through the city were Yoruba and I have read the account of an Ijebu noble man in Germany who was sold by Ijaw pirates. Ijebu on the Yoruba coast could not be sold in any slave market because after the fall of Oyo they were in control of the slave trade hence their proverb that can be translated as ‘Anybody can be found in a slave market except an Ijebu or a white man” but an Ijebu noble man was sold by Ijaw pirates. It would however have been in the slave market of Eastern Nigeria and not on Yoruba land.
The first few centuries when it was a normal trade of slaves and movement of free men to the Americas, the people that crossed would be Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Akan, Fon, Malians Kanuri, Bariba, Nupe, Chadians and hundreds of others and it was a steady stream until the decline began of the Oyo empire via the independence of Asante, Dahomey, Egba, Ilorin and etc. The fact that the Yoruba of Brazil contain a large segment of groups like Ijesa is testimony to the fact that many Yoruba aristocrats who did not arrive in the Americas as slaves are the foundation of the Yoruba community there but people who arrived the Americas as Muslims are more likely to have arrived as slaves and they were assimilated into the culture of their households
It was the second wave of the transatlantic slave trade that had as merchandize some other groups in Southern Nigeria like the Igbos and etc. I do not think any Igbo was sold at all in Badagry or Porto Novo throughout the centuries the ports were in operation for the slave trade but in Calabar they say the majority of human merchandize that passed through the place during the spike in the volume that happened in the nineteenth century were Yorubas and that would of course be because of the Yoruba wars. Many of the people did not get to the Atlantic but were bought by people in Eastern Nigeria in need of farmhands and their descendants are Igbos today.
The only reason Hausa is not well represented in the Americas is because they arrived there as Muslims sold by the Oyo in the main and not as free men. If DNA is checked all over the Americas it will be confirmed though to distinguish Northern Yoruba or Oyo DNA from Hausa, Nupe or Bariba may be difficult because of years of intermarriage and to a large extent the same is true for the other Yoruba nations. (The first settler in our Ere Ijesa town was a Nupe man who did not stay.).
The other major contributor to the traffic is Angola and many of them landed in Brazil as free men as well and their culture is very visible in Brazil as a result of that.

.

Summary

Before the industrial revolution, the slave trade was majorly under the control of the Oyo empire in the same way that the trade in gold, salt, African (Moroccan) leather and etc was under the control of Muslims and gold was money in Europe and etc and ithe enslavement of Muslims was one of the justifications for the Fulani jihad by the protagonists. The other non Oyo Yoruba states were also affected..

After the decline of the Oyo empire the trade became a free for all with Dahomey, Asante, Ijebu, Awori and etc controlling the western side

The Eastern side was controlled by the Ijaw, Calabar and among the Ijaws are the Igboid ones. The Ijaws on the western side were pirates and anybody could be captured by them. The Ijaws also controlled the palm oil trade on the Eastern side while the Yoruba controlled theirs when the palm oil trade became the most important commodity trade as palm oil was the lubricator of the machines of industrisl Europe. Palm oil was the first efficient oil of the industrial age.

The human merchandize on the western side after the decline of Oyo were mainly Yoruba while on the Eastern side it was a mixture of Yoruba, Igbo and other groups but after the decline of Oyo and during the Yoruba wars there was a great increase in the trade as would be expected.

That is a concise articulation of how I understand the transatlantic slave trade. It was a normal trade and if not for the industrial revolution, colonization of Africa and how Nigeria the giant of Africa turned out as a result of an unhealthy competition between the largest African ethnic nations, then there would have been no reason for the transatlantic slave trade to be a hotly debated issue while other slave trades like that of the Ottoman Turks and etc that occurred as a parallel of the transatlantic slave trade is not mentioned. In the past, whole cities were enslaved wholesale and sold in single deals and they did not see it as a big deal. Life must continue.

Two wrongs don't make right. Through the years I've found just doing right pays a lot with God's approval. If they choose to be wrong , then we can choose to do good. Each one will reap what they sow... Choice...
Paying tax on your own without others paying is not going to help your country or do you think it will?. One tree can not make a forest

In a normal country you must register your business and must pay yourself minimum wage and if your standard of living is higher than the wages you pay yourself, you will receive a letter. It is not difficult for the government if the will is there. If you can not pay yourself the minimum wage then the government will find you a job

He is very correct: The Igbos must do that to be able to bring sustainable economic value to the eastern region. Asaba is already moving in that direction. But the Yorubas should realise that when the Igbos leave Lagos, the commercial value of Lagos will slump. Omoniles will cease to exist.

Maybe after that, the Igbos will be replaced by the Congolese grin in Lagos.

Primitive bastards that failed to realise that evolution is not subject to tribal and religious affiliations.
If Igbos leave Lagos will Yoruba leave Onitsha, PH and etc? Lagos is just like two times of PH.abd like over three times of Anambra. No big deal in Lagos

CultureRe: Where Does The Name Yoruba Come From? by lawani(m): 11:00am On Dec 16, 2023
In a Yoruba country the name of the country will be rendered in the language like USA is rendered in English. Ijoba Apapo Ile Oduduwa IAIO is good just like the USA or Ijoba Apapo Iwo Oorun ile Afrika IAIOIA or something of that nature. Yoruba does not need to appear in the name nor does any English word

It is Lagos Island (Lagos for short) that is being refered to in the screenshot that you attached here.

That's an estimated 11 percent of the 1964 population of Lagos Island (NOT Lagos State which has a larger landmass). Lagos State only came into existence for the very first time out of the 12 new states the General Yakubu Gowon's government created on May 27,1967.

More than 95 percent of the total landmass of what is now Lagos State was carved out of Western Region (Which later evolved into Western State on May 27, 1967) and merged with majorly Lagos Island to form Lagos State for the indigenes.
If all states were created by referendum as was the Midwest, the country would not have been in as much mess as it is presently.

Bump.

Insightful.
He is not correct about Osogbo. There are Baloguns in Osogbo who are from Ibadan and Iwo that obviously came there during the Ilorin Ibadan war but the town itself is Ijesa. If you want to buy land in Osogbo today, those who will sell it will be Ijesa. Then it is either Osogbo stand alone or go with Ijesa when Nigeria divides. The King is a member of the Ijesa royal family and most of the population have Ijesa ancestry. Any Osogbo family with 200 years history is Ijesa. The old boundary was with Ede and even Ede used to be Ijesa land but they will form their own state
