The dude is simply refering to the use of biogas. This isn't a new technology but I like the way he put a figure to the amount of biogas that can be generated offgrid for producing an average of 10 MW per
LGA.
Of course it will help if each LG is mandated to generate power at all cost and they can do it with corporate assistance and those companies will benefit but not 10MW per LG since some LGs have population more than sovereign nations. Once generated, distribution would be simple

How can he start it when all the local govt is connected to the grid.

There is no local govt in Nigeria that isn't connected to the national grid as at today, if u want to kick start this, the state needs to disconnect an area, then proceed with an independent power plant, connect the energy to that locality and see what will happen.
If discos won't come and start giving bills as if na them get.light
Is the RCCG camp with its own generating plant and distribution company not connected to the national grid? When there is a will there will be a way
PoliticsRe: We Can Power 774 LGAs In Nigeria Within 24 Months – Prof. Emenike Ejiogu by lawani(m): 5:47pm On Sep 23, 2023
Yes it can be done in even one year if each LG want to or is allowed to do it by foreign partnership. The RCCG camp did it and it can be a mix of power sources. It does not need pipelines since gas tankers can supply gas plants, there can be coal fired plants, hydro by dams and even nuclear. So it can be done in even one year. However my solution of photovoltaic power distributed via reflecting satellites is what will power the whole world at mediocre costs in the near future

I meant he used three billion of his own money as part of the funding for the refinery. Not for all of the funding
He can't raise that kind of money. His Dangote group is in debt seriously more than the real value of the assets of that group because how much is the value of even 50,000 trailers?. He once used around one billion dollars of dividends to service debts. So technically he does not own up to ten percent of the group. It is the creditors that are the real owners. If your investment that you own one hundred percent worth 100 million is owing banks 150 million, how much is your net worth?. All you have is income and market then nothing else. The stock of Dangote shares is not worth up to ten percent of the quoted value. Why?. Because much Less than five percent is available at anytime in the market and even that one is being bought back by the management. If you bring everything to the market or thirty percent to the market instead of one to five percent that is available, then the price will fall like a rock. It can go down by 99.9 percent. It will be like flooding a market with 2000 kg of garri when only 20kg is the demand. Is it that kind of person that should build an 18 billion dollar refinery with debt financing as a sole proprietor without having a dime invested in it?. It is profiteering and not real business. The refinery will be taken over by the upcoming Yoruba country

Actually, Dangote spent 3billion dollars of his own money on the refinery.
There is nobody in Africa that can raise that kind of money. Nobody on Earth can do it at short notice. Then Dangote group as a whole is in debt to the extent that one billion dollars is not enough to service the debt at once maybe in a year and servicing the debt does not mean it will reduce significantly. Where do you think Dangote can get three billion dollars from?

2.I doubt that Tinubu would want Dangote to fail.

3.I doubt that even if Obi and Atiku were in charge, they would want Dangote to fail.

4.Still, it is kind of dissapointing that at the end of the day, Dangote hasn't delivered his refinery. It's begining to look irritating and annoying.
Which other individual on Earth or in world history owns that kind of refinery or project without investing a dime of his own money and while using billions of dollars in debt that he will never be able to pay to finance the business he is known for?

Of course the refinery must rot while we continue importing fuel than for Dangote to own it

Yes I agree totally but the fufu, gsrri, pure water, clothes, barbing, bakery etc industries in Ogbomosho is much larger apart from the passive income from farming. I mean they just wait for the crops to grow

You don't understand how the economy works. Manufacturing industries with what percentage of the workers on minimum wage?. Assuming no homeless since cost of living is bearable. No homeless in Ogbomosho too and in Ogbomosho the average young man who is also an artisan is expecting a couple of millions every year from produce farming. They have produce merchants and the average produce merchant is a HNI. Therefore when you shake everything down, you will discover that a city of 1.5 million will always be richer than the one of only one million people especially if infrastructure is uniform

You don't need data to know that two cities in the same area or region with access to everything will be at par in more or less everything while specializing in different directions but Ogbomosho has advantage in population while Cotonou has advantage in infrastructure especially power if not for that Ogbomosho will be ahead without a doubt. It has a huge agrarian sector which can not be as much in Cotonou. Majority of the tobacco used in BAT Ibadan is grown there apart from many other crops, then all the typical sectors in any city. People remain there only because they are making money there and over one million people are there
EducationRe: Statistics Of Out Of School Children Per Regions In Nigeria by lawani(m): 1:11pm On Sep 22, 2023
By waec reg stats of 2019, SW is two times the SE in population if we assume the population of children is proportional to the total population
In 2021 it shows SW being 2.1 times the SE.
By out of school children, it shows the SW to be around 2.9 times of the SE in population
If you check the enrolment by gender in waec results as published, you will notice that more Igbo girls sit for the exam than Igbo boys and the difference is significant. It is the opposite in Hausa land. So that explains some of the out of school kids in the East. However the only state in the south classified as ELDS is Ebonyi state Educationally less developed State but Ebonyi may be comparable to Ekiti or less in effect. Some of the kids missing in action in the east are obviously apprentices in the west and north. So they add to the number in the west but the total number of Igbo masters in the west with apprentice might be maybe two hundred thousand who have uneducated kids under them if up to that, so the addition to SW underage kids by SE people may be a maximum of 100k if up to that and there will be some sw kids in the east as well but it does not reflect in the waec enrollment by gender table published by waec since the ratio of boys to girls registering in the SW is like one to one. Therefore since a report suggests sw is 2.1 times of the SE and another suggests 2.9 and we know that some SE kids are missing there then we can say the SW is around 2.5 to 2.8 times of the SE in population and on a per Capita basis the SE may be said to now be more serious with education than the SW but by only a bit because 2.8 times of 390k is not up to 1.19 million. Even in Ilesa now there are kids who don't go to school not to talk of other places. It can be explained by saying whatever is affecting the Muslim north is also bound to affect the Yoruba to a certain extent but that is no excuse. However no SW state or any southern state at all is classified alongside Ebonyi as ELDS.
Conclusion
A higher percentage of Igbo boys than Yoruba boys are not going to school
A higher percentage of Yoruba children in general than Igbo children are not going to school
The population of the SW is anything from 2.5 to 3 times that of the SE and the level of education is more or less at par.

Cotonou has by far better infrastructure, more international businesses, and even more modern buildings so what's your point exactly? below is a pic of Cotonou.
In fact, let me ask, why do you think Ogbomosho is any better than Cotonou?
They both have advantages but Ogbomosho has a larger market, more resident millionaires and is more viable as a city because of that. If you are producing anything in Ogbomosho, you already have a sort of home advantage because the population is over one million. Ogbomosho has some industries not present in Cotonou like tobacco farming and many others

Nobody is stopping anybody from building an airport and many have done so in Nigeria but you need the passenger market for local and international and that market is largely in western Nigeria. Port Harcourt has the market too. So what is stopping them?. Port Harcourt has more market than Kano

There is no way a city of five million will not have an airport in this modern times. If not for poverty even a city of one million will have one not to talk of a city of twenty million. When Nigeria was good, people used to hop on a plane from Ibadan to Lagos. I know many people like that. So airport is just a public transport in a normal country

Not all multinational companies but some and that is their choice. The foremost Nigerian founded blue chip company is IBPlc headquartered in Ilesa but was shifted to Lagos. I will however make sure the headquarter is returned to Ilesa soon. Many multinationals are headquartered in Ibadan since Ibadan used to be the largest market before being overtaken by Lagos. Some are in PH and I think Dangote is in Abuja though operations is in the SW etc etc. The trend naturally is to follow the crowd for such companies. Leventis is in Ilesa, Baptist is in Ogbomoso and they are all multinationals too. Eagle cement is in PH etc

Are you saying you are against these ports that have become the livewire of the Nigerian economy? Would you have preferred that these ports were in some other state? Please make yourself clear.

All over the world, cities with the biggest seaports end up becoming the centers of business in their country. It's true from New York to Antwerp, to Hong Kong.
There are many port cities littered all over the west African coast up to Cameroon from west of Ghana and none of them is as big or industrious as Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta or Ogbomosho. I am against the siting of those ports in Lagos only for the money to be collected by Abuja people. I would rather they be sited in other places that are okay with such nonsense. Before Nigeria, Eko (Lagos), Ajase (Porto Novo), Warri, Calabar, Port Harcourt and others were port cities. If you site anything on my land and make money there without my express approval, then you have stolen from me and that is why I say Abuja is owing Lagos just like Abuja is owing the oil bearing states the oil in their farmlands not on the high seas though because that is not their farmland

You say Lagos has been short more than it gained, pls explain.
Again, you say all Yoruba cities lost population to Lagos, while that is true, all Nigerian cities also lost population to Lagos.
Oga the seaports in Lagos are many time more valuable than the canceled metro. They are the blood streams of Nigerian economy.
90% of all our imports come in through Lagos. The metro is nothing compared to this.
Also, by 1984 Lagos was already the economic center of Nigeria.
The Portuguese began trading with the Benin kingdom since the sixteenth century yet Benin does not come close to Lagos. This is because Lagos was developed as a Nigerian project first by the British and every other president in Nigeria.
Now let me ask you, since you don't believe Lagos is a Nigerian project, who do you think is responsible for the growth of Lagos?
IT IS VERY FOOLISH TO BE MENTIONING PORT TERMINAL THAT WAS CONSTRUCTED TO SEIZE REVENUE THAT HAD BELONGED TO LAGOS SINCE THE 15TH CENTURY THAT THE SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE SHOWED UP ON THE YORUBA COAST CALLED THE SLAVE COAST. VERY FOOLISH INDEED. AITETE MOLE OLE NMU OLOKO.

Then since more than eighty percent of Nigerian cities were on Yoruba soil originally, therefore more than eighty percent of cities that lost population to Lagos are Yoruba cities. Most cities in Nigeria today as at this morning were non existent in 1950 apart from Yoruba cities

I totally disagree with you. First, if there is any glory to be shared in the success of a Nigerian state, it should be shared by every Nigerian who wants to identify with it.

I see some people comment and attack Lagos maybe in jealousy but I celebrate the success as our joint achievement.

We as a nation made Lagos. We gave it a head start.
I also regret out failure to recreate the Lagos success in any other state.

Secondly, the question here is what made Lagos great. Why is our nation stuck with only one state with such economy capacity.

The answer has nothing to do with any tribe rather with the failures of our government to create or recreate the Lagos opportunity in any other area.

So much has been given to Lagos hence so much is required.

Lagos is a product of the Nigerian people more than any other state.

It was our longest serving capital with our biggest seaport and airports. It has some of the largest and most ambitious projects ever built by our federal government.

It houses the stock market hence every multinational corporation is head quartered there..
And it is super connected by road and rail to the rest of Nigeria.
Lagos is the smallest state by size but it has some of the largest share in federal high way.
Lagos has some of our best gas pipeline Infrastructure even more than many oil and gas producing states.

We gave Lagos a head start over all other states and we are not encouraging any other state to catch up.

Mention any other city that we have invested in like Lagos.

Now why shouldn't we all see it as our victory. As our own.
What about the fifty million dollars Gov Jakande paid for the Lagos metro which was cancelled by Buhari? . 1984 money. Lagos has short more than gained from Nigeria and the only gain is big economy caused by population increase and there are many places like that in Nigeria. Some cities are now existing where there was only forest in the past but this is Làgos that invited the British in 1861 and had been trading with the Portuguese before then. All Yoruba cuties lost population to Lagos. Lagos was like one third of Ibadan and maybe half of Ilesa at one point Unless you can tell me exactly what Lagos gained from Nigeria I still insist the imposition of Nigeria on Lagos was a calamity. A shortage but it is the same for all the members of Nigeria not only Lagos or can you list the projects done with federal money in Lagos? To compare with the metro that was cancelled?

As for civil servants, they add very little to any economy. They are paid from money generated by businesses.
I have done my homework and realized that in any viable nation, ten percent of the workforce should be in the civil service and it is because of them you can have a good nation. Lagos has 500k, so I think working population is over five million. As time goes on they will employ more including teachers, revenue officers, traffic, security, ministries etc. That is the only way. 5 million total workers in Lagos and 20 million total population is still ok. Osun has around 5 million total population and should ordinarily have like 1.3 million working population and over 100k civil servants but they have maybe 20 to 30k. It is the same story all over the country. Only Lagos is serious. I know any business in Lagos has Igbos and even Ladipo have Yorubas and in Onitsha PH or Aba many businesses have Yoruba owners but the dominant group is what I am talking about. If 80 percent of drivers are Yorubas then roughly the same percentage will be owners but the driver is more important since he is the worker and no bus driver is making less than 10k per day in a place like Lagos. There are Igbos in Lagos but not as much as Yorubas in other places and if Yoruba are not making any fuss or noise about their contributions in those places, why should Igbos be directing attention to themselves? That is the issue. If you doubt me just go on Quora and search Nigerian cities to check who registered as residents of places like Kaduna Abuja Port Harcourt etc and you will find more Yoruba than Igbos. We are no longer in the era of fighting wars, so if you are outside your territory, you have to align with your hosts. How many Yorubas in the east who are in their millions do you see online fighting with Easterners?

You can only know who controls the economy after a survey conducted by professionals. If not, we would both argue based on guesswork and sentiments.
Again, it's clear you don't know the meaning of an informal economy. Hotels, petrol stations, and schools are not part of an informal economy.
Clearly you are taking on a topic that seems to be above your present level.
Who told you that Yorubas own more hotels or schools? Where are you getting your information from?
I have to use eighty percent because you people keep saying Yorubas are nowhere to be found in Lagos. So eighty perçent is my estimate. Majority of traders which is the forte of Igbos are Yorubas, so what is left? Is it artisans, transporters etc. Hotels, petrol stations, schools etc actually pay PAYE in Lagos but like ten percent of what they should so they are still largely informal and traders don't pay at all. Eighty percent of civil servant are Yoruba. So in the absence of data, I will be using eighty percent
