dblackninja: If destiny is a thing, there can never be good or bad because you won't have a choice. You will be doing things as you were programmed to do it.
If destiny is not involved, then it is good to aspire to be good Do Your Best regardless of destiny and you will have the best result. Dont rest on your oars. Use Your ori or head |

dblackninja: Oh okay. I see they mean predestination (called ákàrákà by Igbo people). Which is what we have been discussing. Look at an excerpt I picked: "Kadara may be alterable depending on one’s faith, the Yoruba religion believes predestination isn’t changeable other than to exploit it as there is always light at the end of the tunnel."
So which one is it? Changeable or unchangeable? But remember that we're using Olodumare/a supreme deity as a reference point. If you say it's changeable, then it is no longer destiny. If you say it's unchangeable then the concept of good & bad deeds no longer applies, which in essence means that Olodumare's conditions for heaven is meaningless, as everyone should be there.
Anyway let's leave it here as you're just following the footsteps of your people. I believe we live in a matrix but that does not mean there is no good or bad. An ori Apeere or someone moving towards Apeere can never be caught doing something they cant defend. |

dblackninja: Lol..super you is still you right & not a deity (let's call it your spirit). Because you said before & I quote: "That is why my ori is my chief deity that I worship". That was what I was acting on. So how can you (your inner self) possibly determine your own destiny? Again I will like you to state what is destiny like I asked earlier.
If I take that by destiny you mean choices, then I will quote what I said earlier: You/your spirit/inner -self/super you (or whatever) is in control of the choices you make & not some non-existent deity. Pls Google Ayanmo, Akunleyan, Kadara Etc. I am not an expert. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 11:19am On Sep 16, 2017 |
dblackninja: Actually brother, you determine how people treat you. It can be the way you behave, talk, or even the way you dress, walk, smell etc. Okay now we're getting somewhere. Since you're saying that if your deity says that you will be a thief, you can't influence it (showing destiny) then I believe we can opine that there's nothing like bad deeds. Since every deed being done was orchestrated by the Supreme deity. A thief has no choice but to follow the script written for him. A murderer has no choice but to dance to the tune of the deity... In short the concept of heaven will be null since the role everyone is playing was already pre-determined. If your ori leads you, thats your ori and not Olodumare. You Cant blame the supreme deity for that. then you dont determine how people treat you, their ori determines how they respond to whatever you do, not you! |

dblackninja: If you are not in control of how things goes in your life, then how can your response be of your own accord? Now, if your deity says you will be a thief, can your response change that? Isnt It basic common sense that you dont determine how people treat you but only how you respond? If Your ori says you will be a thief then you cant stop it, you will cooperate with your ori |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 10:05am On Sep 16, 2017 |
dblackninja: Wait let me get something clear... Your ori determines your past, present and future. Your are in control of the issues it determines for you & yet you respond towards what your ori determined for you Meeen this doesn't make sense..how can you be in control and at the same time not in control? You Are not in control of the issues that come your way but only of how you respond. You Need to be in constant communion with your ori, that is what you are doing when you consult the ifa oracle. Your Ori Is the super you that knows things about you which you do not, then i am only a student of yoruba theology still. you can research more on your own. |

dblackninja: Is there even anything like destiny? Anyway let's go with that.. Okay let's say you become a thief tomorrow or you are already a thief, was it your deity that made you to be so?? Since you're not in control of anything but your deity, who I understand is the architect of your life. It is my head ori that determines all. it is the architect of my life. i am in control of how i respond to issues but even at that i respond with my head. |

dblackninja: I make choices and deal with them accordingly. Am not dancing to anyone's tune. What if I told you that you're in control of your 52 cards? That no one but you is dealing them? That everything happening in your life is not by design. That you're in fact the captain & in total control of your ship..? My Ori or head is in control of whatever happens to me, good or bad. That is why my ori is my chief deity that I worship. If I want to die young i might be born during an epidemic. if i want to be US President, i will be born a US citizen. Some of my destiny are malleable while others are not. YOU ARE NOT IN TOTAL CONTROL OF YOUR DESTINY OR OF ANYTHING AT ALL! but you can play your cards well by being fair to all human beings you encounter |

You were chased back because your past life (which you can't remember, nor have evidence of) was filled with atrocities I can see that you are still committing some of them (hence, you are not yet Apeere), showing that you don't want to enter into Olodumare's heaven because it's boring, no? Olodumare can send an ori Apeere to earth if situation warrants such. |

Christianity Etc › Job Versus Paul by lawani(op): 4:14pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
The question to be resolved is simple ' Is the almighty father God burning people in hell for unbelief or not?'. The Christians were peddling the tale in the 1st century and Paul Was among those commisioned by the Jews to put out the fire. He Was doing the job well putting out the fire of christian heresy that describes the almighty father God as an insane person until he himself was converted to christianity on the way to Damascus to confront some christians. Paul Was magically blinded by some christian force on his way to Damascus. He was blinded for three days and that was all it took for him to accept that our almighty father God is burning innocent people in hell for unbelief. Compare That to Job who would not change his mental image of God as a gentleman despite the tribulation he went through. Job was urged by his friend to curse God and die but he would not do so. He held on fast to his notion that God is a gentleman. One Of Paul And Job is an exemplary person that should be emulated and that is Job. |

dblackninja: What if the person decides not to be a better person after reincarnation?? All I see is the same punishment recurring over & over & over. What am trying to establish is that the 2 religions under review dishes out punishment to its followers albeit in a different form. So I don't think you are under a good authority to say yours is good & the other bad. All I see are two ailments- where one is headache and the other stomach ache. It is obviously like repeating a class or not but given enough time you will become Apeere. That is also the teaching in Buddhism |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 1:41pm On Sep 12, 2017 |
dblackninja: Oh I see. The punishment is returning back to earth & the reward is staying in heaven with Olodumare. I wonder which one is more fun
Thanks, I now got something clear... In Christianity, the reward is heaven & punishment is hell (or returning to the soil according to Jehovah W.) & in Yoruba theology, reward=heaven; punishment=coming back to earth. Of course to remain in heavem is more desirable as earth is a market place while heaven is home but if there is an assignment an Apeere or Buddha Can Be reincarnated on Earth |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 1:06pm On Sep 12, 2017 |
dblackninja: Oh I see.. If I understood you correctly, it means that everyone will end up in heaven to give their accounts according to Yoruba theology. Now I can imply that those that did good deeds will stay in that heaven with Olodumare. What will happen to those that did bad deeds?? They will keep returning to earth until they reach Apeere Just like the state of Nirvana In Buddhism. Everybody inching towards Apeere. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 11:20am On Sep 12, 2017 |
dblackninja: Since there's no heaven and hell in traditional theology, what do you then mean by "saved"? There Is heaven where Olodumare reigns in Yoruba Theology and we will all end up there to give account of how we spent our lives and only our good deeds can save us. thanks for your intelligent questions |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Non-Christian Chatbox ( sticky ) by lawani(m): 9:49am On Sep 12, 2017 |
dblackninja: It might not have "hell" but I believe it punishes unbelievers as well. What happens when the people decide not to sacrifice to their gods anymore because they believe their bountiful harvest was from their toil and sweat rather than the gods? Hmmm! I wonder the kind of punishment it will mete out..maybe you can take a pick for me. Not to talk of the type of vengeance it will carry out if it's worshippers decide to introduce a foreign god & loose belief in it
If the Christian god dishes out punishment to both believers & unbelievers while claiming omnibenevolent & the traditional god[s] does so too, in its own way, while claiming to be a "fatherly gentleman", I then think we can conclude that both are the same, just have different styles/methods of execution. In traditional theology, you dont need to believe anything to be saved. You are saved by your good works. |

Pecca: So how do we achieve this Break-Up and subsequent Autonomy as postulated above as it is only the Biafrans that are visibly agitating for an independent nation today while others are on the fence, undecided? Those who has the country at the jugular won't come to the table if the status quo remains. Those aggrieved with the present constitution of the country must take a stand and, now is the time to do that. The northern oligarchy is busy re-strategizing, testing the ground for soft spots and offering trojan horses to the gullible in a bid to sustain the rape on every sphere of this country. They have nothing to lose. They are sitting pretty as it is and won't budge unless goaded. We must take a stand and I suggest the APC-style (birds of strange feathers gathered just to fight a common enemy with no sharing formula in place: Get-them-of-office was the only end. Not Only Biafra But Also Boko Haram, Then A Mild Agitation From The SW. BH is number one. |
