IloveToMess: Okonko is a dance and cultural tradition that is in Akwa ibom and same Okonko is in Abia state.... Whatelse do you need to tell you we are same peeople both SE and SS. Edo have Oba which no other part of Nigeria has except yoruba tribe, why do you want to force yourself on SS.
IloveToMess: Biafra consists of Abia, Ebonyi, Delta, Rivers, Anambra, Imo, Bayelsa, AkwaIbom, Enugu, CrossRiver. And some parts of Benue and Kogi. So if you did not hear your name i'm sorry you are not welcomed.
Why not take the asaba part of Delta that concerns you and leave the rest ?
Ifiokumo: The question is how did Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa find themselves in the same "NATION", when they are on their own ancient and larger than 70% of nations around the world....
Imagine North Korea, Spain, and Oman all in the same country put together forcefully by colonialist and called a derogatory name (Nigger Area) by the conquerors...
Nigeria will disintegrate but we need to work hard for it

Even as at now there is no unviable state. If all houses pay ground rent in any state, it will run into billions of naira per month, that's what they do in lagos

oyatz: Sir, I hope you have heard of Yoruba names with the prefix ODU?
ODUwoye, ODUola, ODUtola, ODUsote etc
Apart from Odu IFA, Odu can also mean a specie of vegetable.
Yoruba is a highly tonal language, thus same word or apparently similar words when pronounced with different tones can assume different meanings
Have you seen contraction of vowels in Yoruba names? e.g
1) Igbo Ija mo (The forest that IJA knows)= Igbojamo
2) Osho+Igbo( Wizards of the forest)= Oshogbo
3) Olo+Oja= Oloja (special appellation for kings, meaning 'the owner of markets' .In the olden days, the kings own the markets, hence 'Oja Oba' in many Yoruba towns)
Bros, take it literally, you don't have deep knowledge about the Yoruba language QED.
The fact that a word has meaning in Yoruba language doesn't exclude the possibility of the same word being meaningful in Igbo, Kanuri or Cherokee languages.
The real name is ugbodumila which means in Yoruba the forest saved me and I prospered
The 7000+ caravan heading towards the USA is an indicator of the problem with the world. If those people were taxpayers where they were coming from, their governments would have been reluctant to part with them. It is high time the United nations make income tax mandatory for all nations. It must be up to 80% of government income all the time. The Norway template is there for all resource rich nations to follow. It is easy. The USA and Canada are the two main nations taking income tax in the Americas and they stand distinct for that. The USA has threatened to stop aid to central American nations because the aid to them is not stopping them from sending illegal migrants to the United States.
It is high time the whole world sat up and used income tax as a tool to organise the world. If it can work in Europe and North America and Japan, then it can surely work all over. May God assist us.
As far as basic education is concerned, the USA is communist. So why not healthcare also?. It is high time the USA go for universal healthcare even if it is a communist idea Without communism many people will be left behind be it in basic education or healthcare and etc you will definitely find people left behind. To build a no one left behind system, communism is the only way forward.
If you are a resource Rich nation, the template to follow is Norway's. Norway has only 5million people and exports over 2 million bpd of oil equi valent but taxes her people so high that oil income is less than 20 perce nt of revenue. Norway is particular about not depending on oil revenue but taxes. So go and understudy Norway
Amujale: Nobody is claiming anything, merely opinions with hard facts on the topic.
For me, Olodumare is Allah in various ways that makes more sense expressed in this form however if you attempt to interchange, then it hardly makes sense not to mention of having to qualify in it essence. Allah is Olodumare in many ways yet if you attempt to interchange, then. it hardly makes sense not to mention of having to qualify in it essence.
The pre Mohammedan Allah is Olodumare but the present Muslim Allah is not. It does not fit!
Olu317: lawani, I expect you to check who are Borgu ? Bro ,you can do better than this. Go to Northern Nigeria's history and verify properly. The same way Yoruba changed name at different times, is the same way, Borgu broke into pieces and migration took place to some areas. Go visit Niger state and Kwara state respectively. In these two States ,your questions is resolved.
The Nupe King is called Elenpe by the Yoruba. I guess it means Olu Enpe. Eastern Borgu is in Nigeria while western Borgu is Benin republic
Olu317: My brother, I am a Yoruba man as you are and I am sure you and I know the manner at which our ancestors married different group of people, even amongst Tapa people. I didnt loose foresight of this but we must not ignore the truth because, we are on social media.Tapa were and are people that tormented Yorubas before we subdued their prowess within ancient Yoruba enclaves . And these people are partly spread from Niger, Kaduna, Plateau,Abuja, kwara through Bénin Republic etc . These People were the Borgu- Nupe people. And I have read about the claim by professor Ade Obayomi. But Let me quickly say this that, there were many wars fought by Yorubas against many sorrounding /neighbouring groups, which some were lost and many were won by Yorubas. And during each conquest by Yorubas, they capture the conquered and took along slaves and dieties worshipped by these conquered people, which testify to different deities in Yoruba land. Have you had an encounter with a real Tapa person ? I mean undilluted breed . If yes, can you hear his or her language? I asked this because I have come across Tapas and their real language is not intelligible to Yorubas, apart from the ones that have been infiltrated by Yorubas in Kwara. Furthermore, the proverb only indicated the reality on the ground about difference in people's way of life and traditions. And for you to think, it is a Lagos proverb, then I guess you missed the point. Arent the people that made such proverb Yorubas? I am sure you will realise that, such statement must have been because of a fracas between some yorubas and Tapas. Else such will not exist in Yoruba proverb. If you claim otherwise, Do you know Borgu was the name Nupe gave or called Pharaoh. This name got stock to some Nupe breed. The Arabs writers called Pharaoh as Barkou and the Coptic Christians called him Barkhou( Folorunso 2003: 78).How come this name is not in Yoruba lexicon? Again, do you remember this proverb,‘ è yì tì o wà lé èyìn éfà o jù ojè ló ?' Clearly,it meant a town known as Éfà existed at one time or the other. And éfà was a town that wasnt of Yoruba origin ,but were people that once lived around Yoruba people with mystique which was not far from Òffà And migrated through Edo as pioneer aborigines of Edoland. Apart from the proverb ,everything connecting Yoruba to Éfà have been sealed up and thrown into dungeon. And the other account to these people as being conquered , annihilated , assimilated and some migrated to only God know territories without traces or change of identity. Their ancient abode don't exist anymore in the òffà axis. What about another proverb as thus,‘ à fì ènì pè'nì à fì èyàn pè'yàn tì o mù àrà' oko sàn bànté wólù?' Who was the àrà oko if not uncultured and uncivilized stranger from neighbouring town? Proverb among Yoruba is a reflection of their past events that had shaped their present. And the present will shape the future. Do you know there are numerous word of Yorubas that arent found in west Africa's lexions? The point is that there are too many unrealistic information I find on NL that does not reflect the truth about Nigeria's different ethnic groups. Facts are their that support that Tapa aren't Yorubas in the same way Gambari or Hausas aren't Yorubas.
Dig deeper and you will see more than meet the eye.
What do you mean by Borgu Nupe people. Borgu is different from Nupe. Borgu is called Bariba by the Yoruba while Nupe is called Tapa
