Hey is Nsala soup same as pepper soup just in a thickened version? I usually get this one wrong.  I don't know exactly how much pepper soup seasoning to put in.

Does anyone have a proper Nsala soup recipe?

Hey what is your line of work?

I have always been thinking of going there. But my husband said, no matter what he will never ever move back to Nigeria. Would be nice to have a villa there though, even that woudl give me a chance to go there.

I was in Nigerian twice, I am white woman. i was also in Abuja twice. the roads are terrible, no traffice lights you woudl easily be killed so make sure someone train you in on the driving there. I was ripped off everywhere, remember as a white person they will do everything in their power to overcharge you as they think you are rich.  However, you should really not have that much problems as it is indeed a mans world down there. I woudl love to live in Abuja. But as one poster said be careful. To be frank I wouldn't trust the locals as far as I could throw them as nice as they are, I woudl certainly have my wits about me and have security around the home. I don't know about jobs as I have only been theretwice. You really need to go there first. The heat is just overwhelming, its like living in an oven! esp Abuja. I really liked it though.

lovely hotels with gorgeous swimming pools! there are nice places to chill out. Great nightly entertainment too. Stunning architecture also. its becoming quite cosmopolitan.

thank you so much thats what I'll have to do. I normally do make stew sauce with meats and things like egusi soup, orah soup okro etc etc and store them in the fridge, I actually thought they would spoil within like 48 hours. yeah i reckon it would be alright if they are in a sealed container in the fridge. I only have a tiny feezer so I can't store anything in that only meat.

Are you sure it woudl still be safe to eat? well he can eat them I suppose. yeah I love nigerian food I have no problem with it all all. I do sometimes make pasta and cous cous too. I LOVE cous cous. Hubby hates it though.

thats right dear. I know someone dearest to me and this lady has a very horrific marriage. he treats her like a slave, cheats on her, calls her names, buys her nothing, she works all the hours god sent.

Yes Ebonyj thank you!! but we are stone broke we can hardly make it as it is. Anyway will will see, I very kindly addressed my concerns he seemed to have understood those concerns. I really don't think its possible to domesticate nigerian men and if even if you did suceed in that i feel as though they would resent you. However, he sugested that i make stew and soup (enough for one week) and put it in the fridge. He said nigerians can eat food that has even been in the fridge for a week. I personally can only eat food that has been in the fridge under 72hrs. So we will have to see.

Very smart decision. I have hardly anytime for my little girl and that has to change. Yeah always a mess for me to clean. In the west, househelp is simply not affordable and besides only we live in an apartment. I would not have another woman live in my home. UNless she was incredibly unattractive.

Absolutely karmamod. But what are their wives supposed to do whilst living in the west where there is no househelps available.  Is it not a form of modern slavery? I mean the way Nigerian ladies have to work and then do EVERYTHING at home. I don't think they realise it. What would you do?

yeah i spoke to my sister in law not complaining sort of joking and she said all her childhood the boys always played football while she did all the cooking and cleaning. Yes it wrong to kill. You can't just kill innocent people. I have ehard the stories and I know, my husband is igbo he escaped a massacre in the sabangeri because he was living with his brother who is a doctor and one of his patients protected him.

another really nice one that my husband loves is one I just guessed. Its made of cooked, deboned and skin off makerel ie fillets. Mix the cooked fillets with mayonaisee and red onion. Thats quite nice on bread too.

Warm chicken, lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayonaisse.

or prawn cocktail with any of the above.

Prawn cocktail:
Fresh prawns
tomato ketchup
mayonaisee

Mix mayonaise and tomato sauce together so that the sauce is pink not red. Add in the prawns and little bit of herbs if you like.

I distinctly remember when I was a teenager how white guys were, they woudl do absolutely ANYTHING for you. To the point were it totally knocked me off them!!

Anyway it depends on the person, as long as you are madly inlove nothing won't matter.
